The Harp Inn in Conwy

I used this pub for the first time to meet up with some old friends. It's a nice little pub to use, the staff are very friendly and you can have a laugh and joke with them the food is also very good. They also cater for gluten free celiacs such as myself which is great. It does have a friendly atmosphere which makes it more enjoyable. I will definitely use this pub again.

Called here as where we usually go was closed. Been here before but not while the change in management. Looked at the menu and thought the items were a bit on the expensive side. However we started with Pate and toast, if you call toasted on one side and not the other "toast". For mains my wife ordered Lasgne with garlic bread. The Lasgne wasn't too bad but very runny on top with the melted cheese, but the garlic bread was not toasted or baked, with melted garlic butter on the bread which made it very soggy bread. I had the chicken curry half and half. The cĥips were very nice, home made. So was the curry, but had peppers, slices green beans and other bits and bobs, it was supposed to be an Indian curry but tasted like Chinese curry spiced up to taste like Indian, which it didn't. Portion sizes were good as was presentation, but sadly the flavour and cooking let it down. For the prices I would expect better value £63 with 2 drinks each, I have had better for less cost elsewhere. Sad to say won't be going there again anytime soon.

What a find , lovely welcome and quick service . Really good menu at reasonable prices , partner had fish and chips and I had steak sandwich which came with coleslaw,chips and side salad perfectly cooked . Our ickle dog got fusses, treats and a fresh bowl of water , can't fault any of it

Our first time at The Harp in Abergele after a Friday lunchtime dog walk on the coastal path. A welcoming bar man who was more than happy to have dogs in the pub. Gave our little Hugo a bowl of water. Sat at the front near the big fireplace, a nice cozy spot. We only ordered soft drinks, sandwiches for 2 and a bowl of chips. The food was very fresh, tasty and well presented and arrived quickly. Homemade chunky chips were 10/10 ❤️👍👍👍 Ham on Brown crusty bread with garnish and coleslaw 10/10👍 Tuna mayo on Brown crusty bread with garnish and coleslaw 10/10👍 Pint of diet Pepsi and a pint of Lime & soda. £20 Would visit again.

Came with our dog for lunch on Saturday 18th Jan. we had veg curry and gammon. Lovely atmosphere, great fresh food and excellent service

Popped in here for a drink on New Year’s Eve and then decided we would also like to order food. The lady serving said they were fully booked up but found room for us and we wasn’t disappointed. The food was delicious . And the service was amazing. Will definitely go back.

Excellent food as always. Shout out to Nick and Beth for their excellent service and friendliness. Go out of their way too make you comfortable and welcome. Chef is exceptional and food always top notch.

We were staying local and having a quick walk around the town we were looking for somewhere to eat. We popped in here and what a great find. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and a great menu (we were spoilt for choice!). We both went for the gammon and it didn't disappoint, probably one of the best gammon dishes I've ever had. We'll be staying local again at some point this year and will 100% coming here again for food.

We’ve been to the harp 3 times in 6 years and every time we’ve been we’ve had an awful experience. From awful service where the bar staff serve people they know first leaving you at the bar for ages to aggressive and intimidating staff who try and start fights with anyone and everyone seemingly for fun. It really is a shame that the owners allow this and also partake in such behaviour

Called in on spec to see if they had a table for two. They said yes but their might be a slight delay with service, as they had Christmas lunches booked. We ordered drinks and sat down to look at the menu. We made our choices and our order was promptly taken. The food arrived, we certainly didn't notice any delay, both our choices were nicely presented and well cooked, my wife especially liked the homemade chips. We then both had a dessert, which again was very nice. From entering to leaving the staff were welcoming efficient and friendly. Not our first visit and it won't be our last.

Yesterday we went for the festive menu with friends. The baked camembert was delicious, the featherblade of beef beautifully tender and the turkey ballotine outstanding, everything served with various accompaniments. Only 2 desserts were ordered, both extremely good but with such substantial servings of starters and main courses we struggled to finish them. Altogether it was a most enjoyable early Christmas celebration.

Prices have risen over last year but food always good .if a little sparing on portions . Can have good choice of Ales .

I tried the crispy duck in pancakes. Never had this dish before. The pancakes actually look raw. The side order of chips were very nice

First time customers at The Harp as were in Abergele. I krdered fish pie of the specials board and the wife had a sandwich and a portion of chips. Wow, the fish pie was the best I have ever had, just sublimine. The wife's freshly made sandwich looked fabulous and she said it was delicious, then the chips, another wow. Proper real home made chips cooked to perfection. I can be fussy with pub and restaurant food, usually due to it being rubbish that is overly expensive and not home cooked. The Harps food was exceptional, so good in fact we booked a table for next weekend as we need to be in Abergele again. Staff were very good, service was very good and the food stolen the show. A very pleasant change.

Go in pretty regularly for food and drink. Staff always pleasant and attentive. Outside seating area well thought out to cope with the weather.

Visited today for lunch with my mum and stepson. I had a medical appointment at 2pm and booked the table for half past: my appointment ran over and they went on without me. It was after 3pm when I arrived and we ordered but they were so nice about it! My mum has a tiny appetite so had the kids lasagna, as did my stepson. It was a decent portion with garlic bread and salad; step son ate all of his and some of my mums! His review is top tier. I had the steak sandwich and it was delicious. Served on a ciabatta with onions and mushrooms with a blue cheese sauce, chips, salad and coleslaw. The staff were friendly and attentive, service was prompt and everyone was pleasant to interact with. Cannot fault!

Went for lunch with friends, service was fast and friendly, food was lovely would recommend. Beer Garden also lovely plenty of table's. I would recommend some music in the background though has very quite and people did seem to be talking almost a whisper has no background noise.

Omg the homemade chips!! The menu overall is great and good value for money. Clean place, well looked after, very nice staff, good spot on the high street of Abergele.

Four of us had dinner here. We pre booked which I would advise as it was quite busy at 6:30pm. We also took the dog. Meals were generous, tasty & hot. We all enjoyed our food. Staff were friendly.

Visited for lunch twice whilst visiting Abergele for the week. Great grub & great staff! Very reasonably priced drinks, lovely beer garden and dog friendly. Strong recommend.

Service was friendly, nice pub but food was disappointing. I had a Cumberland sausage 'special'. The 2 sausages were the perfectly straight, out of a bag kind of frozen sausage, deep fried as opposed to butchers sausages, pan fried (and to think there is a great butcher just opposite incidentally). For a £14 price tag this was definitely not 'special'. The gravy was reasonable, the mash good, vegetables a bit overdone but that seems to be the way a lot like it. The Eton Mess special was also disappointing although not bad quality, rather just not what was expected. It was more like a sundae, strawberry ice cream, raspberry sauce and spray cream with just a tablespoon of meringue. I was expecting mostly meringue, clotted cream and strawberry/berry mix. It wasn't bad just not a very typical Eton mess or 'special'.

Super food and great staff who love dogs and took wonderful care of us. Would come here again if we are in the area.

Visited on the 3rdAug 2024 .What alovely dog friendly pub Staff were great especially Jan/Jen(?)had an evening meal Patè to start with,which was best patè I have had in a while ,tben steak&ale pie ,with mash and 3types of veg My bug bear with alot of food is that it is cold or luke warm at best. Well you couldn't say that about the food we had last night .Everything was red hot.My husband had the curry .What a delightfull flavour .All in all a very good evening .Establishment was nice and clean as were the toilets .Lovely large outdoor seating area at the back.We tried a couple more of the pubs in Abergele but came back to The Harp ,the best by far.Well done to everyone for making our evening so special

Lovely affordable food. We were a big party and it all came out very quickly considering we hadn't pre-ordered. Easy to make a booking, dog-friendly. We had a table booked for 7.30. No-one greeted us, we had to get our own menus from the bar. By the time someone came to take a drinks order 20 minutes later, some of our party had left the table. We asked for 10 minutes, the server told us we could only have 5 - when they're the ones coming over late? When food orders were taken, the server started to repeat the order back to us, but then left in the middle of someone talking to her and never came back. A few food orders came incorrect - particularly for one of our party who specified a dairy intolerance and wanted no peppercorn sauce but had it anyway. Beer garden looked sweet though we didn't venture in there with the family.

We just popped in for something to eat after going to the castle. The food was great best we have had in a pub for a long time. The girls made a fuss of Freddie our pug and even gave him treats best friend for life now. I would highly recommend going to the Harp Inn the next time we are in Abergele we will definitely be going. Thanks again for a great meal and friendly service. Ian

Ate twice over here whilst camping in Abergele. Amazing home cooked, great quality food. Steak and Ale pie first night, Steak ciabatta the second. Proper home cooked chips👌. Excellent service from all the staff, definitely be coming back when visiting north Wales again.

Fantastic food. We only live down the road but have never been before. We'll definitely be coming again. There's a few car park just round the corner to with 3 free hours of parking.

Great food as usual and a wonderful friendly atmospher ...no piped music ! There was a time when England had pubs like this, not anymore . They are either over priced gastro pubs or cater to football fans with large screem Sky tv. We visit here regularly and love it

Stayed in a holiday home in Abergele. Googled and found The Harp prior to our stay. We ended up booking a second time as it was so good. Food is so tasty, staff are really lovely and the place so cosy. If I am in Abergele again I will definitely return. Thank you.

The Food here is absolutley amazing delicious excellent presentation . Staff really can't do enough for you 8 of us and we didn't have to wait long either .I was so full from my main course I couldn't eat a dessert thank you to chef and the staff highly recommended the Harp

Amazing food, served quickly, tasty and fresh! The staff we had, 2 ladies were super friendly, giving us places to explore whilst on honeymoon! Would 100% recommend, and would back here again on our next holiday

When we called in two months ago for a table for two we were turned away as the had a booking for 11 due in later(at least an hour later) the pub was only about 25% full and nobody else was eating. Very disappointing. They need to remember it’s locals that keep them in business all year round..

Food and service was excellent and decent value for money. I would highly recommend to steak baguette, it was huge and perfectly cooked. Very clean and the staff were superb. Well worth a visit.

Called in for lunch with parents and one dog. Great food, plenty of choice and big servings. Will definitely recommend and visit again. Managed to park in Water Street car park, easy 2 mins walk to pub and High Street.

Popped in for a drink after a walk from our campsite. It was a comfortable cozy setting. Friendly staff and welcoming.

Went in as a party of 8 ,was given a table and waited on by two members of staff. Everything was excellent and the food was also . Only a high street pub but good atmosphere and good prices for above average pub food . Would recommend.

Went for a family catch up between Christmas and New year. Booked a table of 6 at a days notice and they couldn't do enough to accommodate us. Food was spectacular and my sirloin was cooked to perfection. Staff were absolutely lovely. Would highly recommend 👍

First time we've been to the Harp had Sunday roast & desert, mine was gluten free, both our meals were lovely,hot &service was brilliant the waitress found what was gluten free for me. Would definitely go back against

What a wonderful lunch we had here. The steak sandwiches were meat from the local butchers, the chips were proper chips and the kids lasagne was delicious. We were well looked after and enjoyed the friendly service. The atmosphere was great they had Christmas decks up and the place was busy which was nice to see. I would definitely go again and go with the family.

Called in on speck on the 29th after driving up from South Yorkshire. Two very lovely ladies behind the bar, I ordered the steak baguette very tasty. We were asked why we were up and I said for my special birthday, suddenly a second complementary drink arrived with birthday wishes for the following day. A warm clean homely place with lovely food and staff. If we go back again we'll definitely visit for food.

Lovely, tidy pub with great food. I had the Welsh rump steak, asked for medium and cooked perfectly, the chips and onion rings were also very good. I didn't feel particularly welcomed by the staff who seemed quite pre occupied, the person who greeted me was oddly stern. I drank a pint of pedigree which was as expected and good. It was a shame there were no local brews available, I assume this is a brewery/brand issue. My total was £21.95 which I think was great value for money. I entered at around 5pm on a Saturday, it wasn't busy but became more so over an hour. I think it's a good time to eat at the pub!

Great food with welcoming staff. Food was served in good time even though they were busy. Food was fresh and good sized portions. The bar serves a good selection of beers, wines and spirits. Good price for food and drink. Dog friendly inside and even served the dog some treats when we sat down.

A lovely, cosy food pub. Good real ale and the 4 mains we had were very generous portions, freshly made too. Friendly staff, and local customers were friendly too as we were on holiday here. Highly recommended.

A lovely pub in Wales, a warm, friendly welcome on arrival from the waitress and landlord. There is a good range of traditional ales and bitters ,and a good range of lagers available, I settled for a pint of guiness which was well poured and tasted delicious. The menu has a good range of starters on offer and a good selection of traditional pub grub ,and a small selection of sweets. There is also a small specials board available. We settled on the lamb shank with mash potatoes and a selection of vegetables, the chicken curry with rice chips, and naan bread and a burger and chips they were all delicious and well presented ,we all left with full bellies .highly recommended 10/10

Called in here for some lunch while in the area as was dog friendly and wasn't disappointed old style traditional pub with traditional pub food. Great pub and good service couldn't fault it and was getting very busy. Food was good quality and reasonable prices. Will definitely be going back even if jst for couple of drinks. My new go to pub while in the area. Only down side no parking however slightly past it heading towards Ross on sea direction is a free car park. (Library car park) around 100 yards. Great to use while visiting here.

Stopped here for lunch with my partner and our dog last week. It was really fresh and tasty comfort food. Lovely atmosphere and welcoming bar staff. Good options for me being a vegetarian and barabrith bread and butter pudding was gorgeous!

Fabulous food catered for gluten free staff lovely friendly and efficient was quite busy so nice buzz about the place.

Have always enjoyed coming here for food and drinks a nice place to go with family or out with friends . Food and drinks are not a bad price and food quality is very good the staff are always friendly
