Lunch today, food was lovely I had fish it was fresh and crispy batter. My niece had macaroni and loved it. Service was great, friendly and attentive.

Arrived at restaurant at agreed time as already booked. However table wasn’t not set Waited 5mins b4 girl went and set it No rush at all by any staff. All standing in kitchen talking Ryan came through said girl was going down stairs with another boy but she said that’s your table in it’s in diary. Table not ready He wasn’t impressed and drew a look By this point we were ready to leave Eventually we got took to table Food came out. Girl dropped plate on table chips went everywhere. Steak pie was dry so asked for gravy 5 mins ltr got handed a dish with what looked like dishwater runny so we Sent it back stating that’s not gravy Nvr got asked if wanted sauce guy wasn’t interested Asked for kids meal chicken got 2 brought. The baby is 13 months then got charged £7.95 for each of the kids meals . No offer of dessert or ice cream for the kids Staff weren’t interested. Another table came in and wasn’t set up Woman wasn’t happy. No urgency at all. No customer service No asked want more drinks. No one came near us First time here was great. This was our last won’t be back

We visited this place with my family last week. My father would have liked to eat fresh seafood and fresh fish, but instead this we got frozen scampi. Which can be buy at any grocery store. Absolutely disappointed! The view was nice ,but the food and the coffee is horrible! Never back again!

We ate there today (30/4/23) around 2pm. We hadn't pre-booked but as it was during the Old Firm match, we had no problem getting a table...the welcome from the staff was friendly and warm and that was maintained throughout our visit. We had the Cullen Skink, Gluten free Steak and Onion burger and a breaded Haddock. All were delicious and very good portions. We ended up around £15 to £20 a head with a few drinks added but for the quality of the food, worth every penny. I'd have given a 5 for the atmosphere but as it was only us and the staff until 2 people came in with their dog and we all had a laugh about the bar stock, it'd be a push to give all 5 just now...maybe next time though!! 👍 Just been back today (27/04/2024) and it's not lost anything from the last time. Still great staff and food. 👍

We go there at least twice a month we have never had any complaints the staff are really friendly and the food is excellent

Great views, friendly staff. They should rename the place The Wounded Buffalo because they charge like one. £1 a bite for a key lime pie.

I don't normally post negative reviews. Rather, I write privately to the restaurant raising the issues we had to give them a chance to up their game. I tried to find an email address for this restaurant. No luck. Anyway....sad to say, this was a highly disappointing meal for us. ☹️😓 Beautiful sunny day, so we decided to go to the beach - Aberdour. Lovely! Then a wee drive around the coast to Kinghorn. First issue was with signage. Difficult to see the restaurant as signage wasn't the best. A bit of difficulty finding the entrance too, parked in the carpark and it wasn't obvious where the entrance was. The building itself has seen better days, and decor wise is a bit of a mish mash. In need of an upgrade. FOOD -DISAPPOINTMENT! We had checked the menu out beforehand on Google and one member of our party had chosen this restaurant because it had oven-baked brie as a starter and because the reviews were 4.5 stars. However the menu online was totally different from what was offered on the day. No brie. ☹️ Anyway, after a bit of a wait, our order was taken. Sirloin steak, medium rare with whisky sauce. Two steak pies and soup and sandwich for the wee one. It took a long time to come. Waiting staff said the restaurant downstairs was very busy. We accepted that. Not in a hurry, just hungry. Eventually the food came. The sirloin steak was raw. Medium rare is pink and warm in the middle - this was red and cold in the middle...not just bleu - very bleu. We returned it and the same steak was brought back by the chef a little more cooked. No apology. No talk. No smile even.☹️ He actually seemed a bit detached and was not acting in a way one would expect for a busy chef. Sauntering, I would say - manyana like. The steak in the steak pie was a reheat...some bits soft, some hard. Not very appetising. Most left. Vegetables were from a frozen pack, watery and tasteless. Fries were obviously reheats too. Overdone and hard. The whisky sauce - the alcohol had not been cooked out of the sauce. It was as if it had been poured in and left like that. One to watch as the diner was the driver. He didn't eat it as he was concerned about the effect on him for driving afterwards. Red flag! POSITIVES The tables were set with pristine white linen and looked inviting. The waiting staff were pleasant and did a reasonable job in difficult circumstances. The location is absolutely stunning! I mean stunning. ISSUES This place could be a goldmine if someone with enough resource could intervene: Revamp the building Install decent signage Declutter and redecorate Align the online menu with what is offered Get a decent chef I paid the bill and left a tip for the waiting staff. I felt sorry for them as they did a good job of serving. They were friendly and helpful and at the end of the day - have to be paid. I shared my feedback with one of the waiting staff and she said that lately, there had been a number of complaints about the food and she would tell the owners. The food was just not worth the money. The location is 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 The waiting staff 🌟🌟🌟 The food - no stars - sorry to say.

We thought we would try the harbour view as they were suggesting some specials from Spain and we do love Spanish cuisine. We thought it was also very special to support local businesses at this difficult time. The staff were polite and courteous. It was a special touch having the chef coming to take the food order. We were at the end of a Sunday afternoon sitting and of course ended up late in but the staff were very accommodating as we had phoned in advance to apologise that we would be ten minutes late. We had ordered the seafood paella in advance as suggested. We were also keen to try out the merluza and duck dishes as they were advertised as Spanish specials. The Mac and cheese and scampi were also ordered for people who were not keen on Spanish cuisine. Food review. Generally the food was ok. The Spanish style dishes lacked seasoning and we felt that they had been toned down for the local Scottish pallet. The paella was nice but again lacked flavour. Could have done with more garlic and Spanish seasoning. The Mac and cheese and the scampi were typical pub style food. Atmosphere The views from upstairs were amazing, but the decor seemed a little confusing. The Indian themed wall paper and decor seemed to clash with the scenery. Suggestions This restaurant has great potential and is so refreshing compared to the previous establishments that had been here before. However in order for it to survive it will need to, 1. Cut down the number of staff. 2. Remove the table cloths and minimise the decor. 3. Improve the external entrance areas to make them more attractive. Especially the link between the council car park and the establishment. 4. Consider that less can be more. Focus on handing out higher quality well seasoned dishes rather than large quantities. These should be taken as constructive criticism and used to support and build rather than taken as anything negative. The concept you have is great and with time this can build into a wonderful dining experience.

Had a wonderful lunch with a spectacular view. Will be back.

Great food and very friendly staff

First visit to this resturant with my wife and friend. Good selection on the main menu as well as other choices on the specials menu. We had a selection of starters, mains and desserts. The food was freshly prepared and very good quality all for a reasonable price. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I would certainly recommend this place. Great views over the firth of forth.

A hidden gem! Best meal I’ve had in a long time. Locally supplied Haddock, with chips and peas was super.Upside down pineapple cake was delicious. Really friendly service as well as a great view over the harbour plus car park next door

Best meal I’ve had in a long time. Haddock and chips were perfect. Key lime pie was delightfully delicious. Lovely cappuccino too. Really friendly service and everything came really quick too. Beautiful view sitting outside. Well worth my money!Thank you ❤️

Nous sommes une famille française et nous avons diner dans ce sympathique restaurant le 25/08. Notre table avait vue sur mer, merveilleux, les plats sont simples mais de qualité avec une mention spéciale pour l'assiette de desserts.....irrésistibles. Et n'oublions l'accueil des trois charmantes personnes qui officiaient ce soir là, toutes extrêmement sympathiques et souriantes. Si vous êtes de passage à Kinghorn, je vous invite à vous arrêter de ce bel établissement.

Great food, friendly staff. Seating inside and out. We had bar food but there is a restaurant upstairs though not wheelchair accessible.

Just back home from Kinghorn had fabulous time In this place staff are fabulous after a few kraken didn't need to ask was already on the way as I was waking up to the bar definitely needs a visit if you are up that way view's are amazing thanks for your hospitality martyn and Elaine from Nottingham.

I had a lovely gluten free burger and chips and enjoyed sitting out with dog. Dogs allowed inside too. It was a real treat

Just spent a lovely weekend in Kinghorn with my wife, son and his partner. One of the highlights was a meal at the Harbour View. The views over the sea, whilst having our lunch, were stunning. The food was excellent and Shona could not have been more attentive and friendly. A fantastic experience all round, thank you.

We arranged with Shona to host a joint 18th & 40th birthday party at the Harbour View. The upstairs is a perfect venue for us. From first contacting Shona then meeting her at the venue, everything went very smooth. The food choices are excellent and when the food was put out during the party we were all very surprised and absolutely everyone enjoyed the buffet. They even make their own cakes! I want to say everyone, from the bar staff to the chef worked hard and went above and beyond for us. Special thanks to: Grant for excellent food. After the reply from the owner and further reflections from my side on our stay I need to add: - thank you for offering kitchen service for us and we appreciate your decission to do so. We always welcome the effort that is involved in runing a pub and restaurant. - we were happy with the food and the service (as stated by the star rating for this categories) - from my personal view: the room, the interieur and the surfaces are tacky and dingy, the pub room needs a makeover (my impression as a customer) - would still expect more based on the high google rating of 4.5 - would appreciate if the owner would inspect the location with a customers eye

Popped in for lunch. The lady who I think may be the owner could not be more lovely and even kindly rustled up a breakfast request for my partner. Gorgeous views, great portion sizes, nice staff and lovely sea views 💕 and the cheesecake was lushhhh.

Awesome thoroughly enjoyed our meal, lovely staff, out on a motorcycle ride and stopped by definitely be back.

The beer is great and it's just a real friendly place to visit. Kids and pets are welcome. The food is great and well priced, there is a menu for the restaurant which is above the bar and bar menu also.

We had lunch here on a windy November day mid week and it was just charming. Super friendly staff and delicious home made food all helped, along with incredible views over the estuary towards Edinburgh. A great place to stop along if you're walking the Coastal path or visiting one of the beautiful beaches.

Brilliant lunch yesterday of fresh bread crumbed fish. A desert of pineapple upside down cake and custard cooked without microwaving was going above and beyond. Fantastic, friendly service . Highly recommend 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Absolutely fantastic place to eat. The restaurant has amazing views of the forth. Have been a number of times and it never disappoints. The cakes and desserts are all handmade and are a particular highlight , as they are so tasty. Very reasonably priced too !

Just dropped in for a quick lunch bite..dog friendly and attentive staff...only had chips which took ages to arrive.

Popped in for a quick drink but ended up staying for several hours.The Place was spotless and lovely decorated and it has a very modern feel to it.It has a great jukebox along with wonderful views across Kinghorn Bay .We all tried several of the cocktails served by very knowledable engaging bar staff .All in all we truly enjoyed our visit and hope to be back sometime in the not too distant future. It is well worth a visit as you are guaranteed a warm friendly welcome and great value for your money.

Certainly beautiful views but took 1 hour to be served food. Ordered soup first of all and after half an hour waiting waitress came to tell us there was no soup left. Opted for toasties. Took another half hour. This was our second visit. First visit also took 1 hour to be served food. A bit too long but food nice . Delicious mushroom soup on first visit..

This a great place to eat. The food is fantastic and reasonably priced. Everything is made fresh and is locally sourced. Friendly staff too. We will definitely be eating here again. Can't recommend it enough.

Staff/ new owners could not have been more helpful

The place looked like it was closed, we persevered and walked all around until we found folk inside and an entrance to Pub/Restaurant. We only wanted a coffee, but the food that passed our table smelt and looked good. Staff friendly and accomodating.

Lovely food, great view. The last star was not attained because the staff were not very helpful maybe this was just a blip. If this is what they are normally like I would give them 3 stars.

Stopped here for a coffee and cake. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great view of the local beach including the Kinghorn harbour. Lovely clean premises with both indoor and outdoor seating. Lots of other snacks and food is available, eg. Jacket potato etc or bottle of wine with lunch.
