The Chapel Tavern in Fife

This pub started off well when new management took over. But went tonight for a meal and it was terrible. The food was cold. The service was awful. The menu was limited with no salad etc available. The attitude from the female who served us was appalling. We had brought friends for a meal, so it was embarrassing. No apology when one of our group was told (when they eventually started serving our food) that her dish was not available. She had to re order and therefore we had all started our main course before hers finally arrived. The quality of the food was extremely poor with the use of too much spices or cold sauces on what should have been hot food to try and add some flavour. Cheap frozen food that was poorly cooked. They gave a ' free round ' of drinks but only a few actually ordered at the free round. Terrible atmosphere. Too loud entertainment whilst trying to eat the food. Poor attempt for Boxing Day. (Apparently another chef has left in the last few weeks) It's a shame as it could be a good cosy, friendly wee pub. But no sign of that tonight.

Chapel Tavern was completely empty, so the atmosphere was a little flat. It's a shame as the food was very tasty and cooked well. No one checked till they took the plates were taken away if everything was okay or even if we wanted to order anything else. Pub and toilets were very clean. Pity about the damage in the gents toilets.

Food was good. However my partner had an issue saying the food wasn't got enough. I actually thought it was hot enough. However, It could have been dealt with more professionally, as there was an unfriendly vibe after this and even after we apologised to the cook and tried to diffuse the situation he kept on giving us backchat

Great wee pub.Staff lovely too. Prices reasonable. Good atmosphere. Food was great for price and spent a rainy Saturday afternoon into the night chatting and having a great time. Will be back.

Our local, quiz nights, karaoke, live music, chilled nights, good atmosphere and friendly staff who are always polite and helpful.

The most delicious meal I’ve had in a long long time!! Service was impeccable couldn’t complain. Lovely cozy vibe to restaurant. Lovely for all occasions. Definitely will be back. Looking forward to it already and I’ve not even left yet.

This is the 3rd time I have been here for food recently and can't recommend highly enough. Very clean establishment, open kitchen area so you can see food getting prepared and the service is exceptional. The food is absolutely delicious 😋 Oliver, looked after us today and was chatty, friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Highly recommended for both food and drinks

Out for a family get together, meal was nice, only thing we found is it's a wee bit noisy just to many people trying to talk over each other lol

Went for a wee meal with friends. Got seated but right at the door and was freezing everytime someone went out for a smoke or vape. Really busy and a good mix of ages there, nice decor and relaxing atmosphere. Was loud at times as really busy n staff good Got a pitcher of cocktail which was very good and reasonable priced. We all ordered something different and the food looked really good. The Singapore noodles were the best. I found the chips mushy n undercooked but the gammon steak was good. Stayed for a couple of hours chatting n had a really good night.

Microwave food and not even as good as the spiral weave or chapel home farm. Also staff and owner very unprofessional

We love this place. Our neighbourhood local. We met in here before the refurbishment so has a special place in our heart. Brilliant and friendly bar staff. Only criticism are the young team who appear to use the toilets not for its intended use.... staff need to crack down on this.

Lovely local bar. Funny table signs and a couple of pool tables. Enjoyable place sit and watch the football during the day and enjoy live music in the evening

Popped in for a quick lunch on our way to Edinburgh. The food was fresh and delicious. Jonathan was helpful, friendly, and a great conversationalist. I definitely recommend coming here.

Popped in for an afternoon bite and had a wonderful time. The bar supervisor (Oliver?) Was a genuinely lovely guy and made us feel welcome and looked after. Halloween decorations were up and looked incredible. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a great pint and a tasty lunch.

Great pub to visit. Looks quite small from the outside but when you go in it is spacious and gorgeous inside. Staff were realy friendly and the atmosphere was so friendly. We went for a couple of drinks but will definitely be back soon to try some food.

Please ignore my last review of The Chapel Tavern. I have never visited this pub. The review was meant for another establishment and the poor rating was submitted in error.

Very poor pub food, poor service. A featureless barn of a place.

Good meal, service and reasonably priced. Not changed.

We had lunch there today and it was delicious. The best BLT sandwich I have ever had. My husband loved his burger too. Coffee was great as well. The decor inside this pub is lovely and quite a hidden gem in Kirkcaldy. Thanks Debbie.

Met the new owner who was very friendly even though she was running the tavern almost alone she managed to introduce herself. Once again we had a good meal at a fair price and a nice wine. Hope everyone supports her. We will be there again soon.

First visit to this pub, we were looking for that pub you can go to and feel relaxed, sit, have a beer, some food, watch the saturday sports and have a blether. From walking in to having a little totter out.. this was that, nope this is that pub.

Great place to relax and eat pub food (pub food! They're not trying to be a Michelin star restaurant). Facilities were immaculate. A pleasant beer garden to the front and rear (rear is protected from Scottish weather). A large selection of drinks and food. Music would have been nice but it's understandable as they're in a residential area. Would definitely recommend 👌

Sorry to say that we were really disappointed with our meal after reading all the reviews we were looking forward to our visit, food was all over cooked, scampi deep fried so much it was crunchy, and empty shells so was chichen, all other food microwaved and when we asked for a portion of boiled rice!!! Instead of potatoes We were told there was none and yet a tikka massala came out with rice and a very dark and greasy popodon which had obviously left in fryer to long, also a small portion of microwaved lasagna was plonked in middle of a plate with a few lettuce leaves and over cooked crunchy garlic bread, ,asked for a small pizza for a one year described as a chicago town, it took barely 4 mins to come obviously microwaved and was charged just under £5!! The place was empty but serving food like that I'm not surprised, the staff were nice and place is lovely but I'm sorry to say we won't be back because of the quality of your food? What ever happened to good old homemade food

The inside of the Chapel Tavern is really nice, since they have opened it up (there used to be a separate bar and lounge) there is also a beer garden to the rear with a large carpark for patrons. Our bar lunch was ok, nice sized portions and at a reasonable price, there was really only one problem, one of the rump steaks was asked to be well done but it came out medium with blood visible, however they did take it off the final bill for the mistake. The servers were polite, prompt and well presented. Top marks to the hosts for their hospitality. I would certainly eat here again.

Really impressed with the menu choice and all food served was great. Starters ordered were tomato and basil soup, prawn cocktail and the chicken pieces. All delicious and plates emptied. Mains were mac and cheese x 2 and the lasagne with side of chips. Again, really tasty and nothing left! Newly refurbished, the Chapel Tavern is a cosy, welcoming place, even during covid restrictions. Can't wait to come back.

Just your typical pub grub, service was abit slow on entry, but food was tasty enough.

Lovely place good food will go back again but couldn't understand why the chef said we couldn't replace the custard for ice cream on the apple crumble!

Decent wee pub. It has sports, Sky Cloud WiFi and entertainment on at the weekends. The interior is looking slightly tired, but that's what we like in a proper boozer.

Welcoming pub, very clean, great entertainment. I highly recommend the chapel tavern for a nice pint.
