Best fish and chip in town..very big portion.

Food quality really good, great service. But online times state they close at 10 but they close by 9 or 9:30. Need to commit to their times! Very unprofessional. Especially for those that plan their meal around their closing times then find out they are closed early!!!

Every time we have used this fish & chip shop it has always been fantastic. Truly, some of the best we've ever had. Food is not only delicious, it's well packaged and always piping hot. You can also get it delivered. They also accept card payments now too, as well as cash.

Good service, freshly cooked but didn't have to wait long. Food was really good, fish batter was crispy, light and not greasy. Good chips too. Would highly recommend.

I use this chip shop regularly. The staff are friendly, the wait time is decent and for the most part the food is excellent. There have been a couple of occasions in the last month or two where the chips have been a bit brown and soggy, but most of the time they're great. My only real complaint is the pricing. It's much more expensive than other fish and chip shops in the area, and definitely overpriced for what it is.

Its very good fish and chips, though it is a little expensive. Thier fried chicken is excellent but they only do it on fridays/saturdays which is a shame. Best fish and chips for some distance.

Spot on service, and food was nice

I used to think this was one of the best fish and chips shops apart from the one I grew up using. However tonight the chips were soggy and oily and really 3rd rate, for the first time from this place the food has upset my stomach

This is a fabulous fish and chip shop. Been coming here for at least a year. Only grumbles I used to have were that was cash only (now takes card) and that the curry sauce wasn't great (now it is) . 100 percent recommend and the team are fab.

Definitely the best fish and chips shop in town. The staff are really nice and the food never dissapoints especially the onion rings.

The fish and chips are good, but the fishcakes which were amazing have gone down hill! Glad they now accept card payments.

Delicious fish and chips and pleasant staff - also really good they now take card payments. Chip shop itself is clean and bright - pleasant to wait while your order is cooked Only reason I give 4* rather than 5* is wish they had a proper website for online ordering as this would make it even easier. Also difficult to know some of their opening times on bank holidays etc.

Chips was nicely cooked but the fish very disappointing. Probably the worst Cod that i have had recently.

The food is great, but it is a bit expensive. They used to make homemade fishcakes but they seemed to have disappeared from the menu.

3 fish, chips and peas and chicken nuggets and chips cost £47! Nearly keeled over! Also don’t accept card transactions. Staff could improve on customer service skills.

Excellent food and service. Being deaf is a problem. Not here they were kind and patient. Well done and thankyou. The young man who served me was also deaf but it was no problem for him as he understands what it is like. Again thankyou. I will be returning.

Really lovely fish and chips. Worth noting it's a cash only business. As tourists we had a bit of an issue finding a cashpoint but found a local postoffice with the service available. Good sized portions and staff were lovely.

I loved this Fish and chips shop. Everything is freshly cooked for you. Fair prices. The only bad side is cash only. But other than that, I would definitely go back.

The Harbour says on its website it is open on Wednesday until 10pm. So it was disappointing after driving some distance, to find it closed at 9.40pm. If you advertise your opening times, please adhere to them.

Third time not a charm! Sadly this was the last time we order here tried delivery service on Friday night which was very late and the food made my whole family very poorly, clearly standards have lowered, certainly not worth food poisoning! We won't be back for more!

I went to this chip shop this evening and was insulted by a very rude woman who I believe owns the shop. There were ten plus people waiting outside for food. I was asked to wait to begin with. Then the woman with dark hair started shouting to a man that I will just have to wait if I like it or not. Terrible way to treat your customers. I will never use this chip shop again.

A very popular plaice I noticed. Fish is always fresh cooked and a variety of sizes. I had haddock, the batter was light and crispy, fish was just right. Good size portions too. Would recommend it to anyone.

We were recommended this chippy by staff at the travelodge during a one night stay! Excellent service tasty fish with thin crispy batter lovely chips and nice curry sauce great value for money highly recommend trying here if your in town :)

The chips are tasty and cooked in vegetable oil unlike other places who use unhealthy palm oil.

Having lived by the sea, it’s always a bit hit and miss when looking for fish and chips anywhere else. I was then pleasantly surprised when visiting the Harbour in Faringdon. Not only is the service quick and friendly (even during a pandemic!) but the fish and chips easily outshines anything else I have tried in the area. It is now a fortnightly treat and as yet have not been disappointed.

Great fish & chips. Currently queuing outside to maintain social distancing. Note that there's often no street parking available, so in busy times best to park in main town parking lot.

Agree with previous reviewer, there is no grater disappointment in life than iffy Fish & Chips. Delighted to report that The Harbour got it spot on. I had lovely Plaice (call me posh if you want to) with really proper chips and benchmark mushy peas (my wife’s from Yorkshire so she’s pick on peas) Service great and queue suggested others had cottoned on. Touched that the lady serving gave me a free can of coke as a kind gesture - you don’t get that at your la Di da French restaurants . Well done!

Finally we have a great fish and chip shop in Faringdon. Food is tasty and fresh and the place is incredibly clean.

This takeaway is relatively new in Faringdon and is clean and well maintained. The standard of the food is excellent and I have order their fish and chips in various guises on several occasions. There is always a bit of a wait as the food is cooked fresh but it is well worth it. The batter is not greasy and the chips are a little too plentiful but home cooked. I would recommend this takeaway to anyone - there are a couple of bistro tables and chairs so if you were on the 'fly' you could always eat in , I think. They only accept cash which is a bit of a pain but understandable.

I can’t wait to return. I haven’t had chippy dinner for years due to the continuing drop in standards in most places I go, but hallelujah in steps The Harbour. When I stepped in it was really busy, but I was instantly impressed with how clean the place was. When you give your order, you get a ticket number so there is no awkward standing around waiting for your food, it keeps everything nice and simple which is key when your popular and busy. The food itself was outstanding, the fish was fresh and tasty, the chips were great, the sausage in batter yum, the curry roll delicious, and the curry sauce was just what you want. Oh, the service was also really friendly. I will absolutely be back. Please keep up the hard work and retain these amazing standards

At last a decent fish and chip shop in Faringdon. Fish lovely and fresh, batter light, crispy and not too greasy. Chips proper home made and cooked perfectly. Most impressed by all paper packaging, no plastic or polystyrene. Well done at The Harbour!!!
