Great little chippy. Friendly service & the fish supper was freshly cooked to order, tasty & not greasy at all.

I went there a year ago, i recommend, the staff was kind , food was good.

Delicious takeaway fish and chips! There are a couple of picnic tables outside you can eat on.

We've just had cod suppers. Hands down the best fish and chips we've had in a long time. The fish was tasty, the batter crispy and the chips were fluffy on the inside and crisp on the outside. Friendly, polite service. We'll be back. 😊🐟🍟x

Brilliant! We really wanted a Fish and Chips and we found this place. Most importantly: they have gluten-free options. In addition, they are delicious and very well cooked. The fish is of quality and it shows when you eat it. Afterwards we had a chocolate shake, also very good. The attention was also very correct and the service is fast. We will return without a doubt!

Nice fish and chips at a reasonable price. It was busy but the wait wasn't too long. Both the chips and fish are not too greasy. It's takeaway only.

We’ve had fish and chips in many different places around the UK and Ireland. This was hands down the best we’ve had anywhere! My daughter, who has never liked fish, even loved it and wanted to go back again the next day.

The quality of the place lies more in its location and the possibility of eating in front of the sublime landscape of Plockton than in its cuisine. The haddock fish & chips are not bad, without being particularly good.

Lovely location. Very let down with the quality of the fish and chips. Batter was hard/tough. Cooking oil not hot enough? Batter tasted unpleasant. Friendly guy serving.

Excellent fish and chips prepared fresh to order. We also went here because of a recommendation that they can prepare gluten-free food. The food is placed in a solid box. It can be eaten next to the table or anywhere else. Nice service. You can pay by card.

Went in on 25th June lunch time, I can honestly say it was the worst fish I have ever tried to eat. Had to throw half away as it was so hard you couldn't bite it.

My partner was looking for an authentic Fish & Chip shop on our roadtrip and the Harbour Fish Bar fit that requirement to perfection. After a short walk through the harbour, a couple of pints with a great view at the Plockton Hotel we ended our visit with some beautiful haddock fish & chips that were made fresh to order. I don’t think there’s many F&S shops that can beat the view here either. The only point of improvement would be the veggie option (contrary to my partner I’m vegetarian). The veggie burger isn’t really an enjoyable experience. No stars deducted, because I didn’t expect a true F&S shop to have an extensive veggie offerin). However, my recommendation to the Harbour Fish Bar would be to get some fake Cod from the Vegetarian Butcher at the CO-OP further down the road, slap that on a bun with some tartar sauce and serve that instead.

Waited a little while,cooked fresh they say,so not a bother. I have had better macdonalds and that is saying something because I hate macdonalds. Luke warm and small portions. A slab of nasty meat in a dry Barm,no salad or onions and a teaspoon of cheese on chips. My partner's cod was small,very greasy and did not taste fresh. Will NOT be going here again. Good reviews must be done by another cook or put on by family and friends.

Well my experience was a lot different to most and I'd made a special effort to take a detour on my return from Harris/Lewis based on positive reviews: They'd run out of cod, the chips were cold and I rushed to eat it to get back in time for an ice cream cornet before they closed (after having told them I'd be back for the ice cream) to then be told the machine hadn't been working all day (I'd seen others with ice cream cornets). The service was slow and far from friendly and inviting. Wished I'd carried on in my journey home to Shropshire instead of taking the detour adding 2 hours on to my journey! So disappointed.

Mom behind the counter, and it tastes just as delicious! It takes a while to wait, but it's worth it. No outside seating because of bad weather, so not rated

Pretty good, we were happy enough with the food and given the location and options I'd recommend. Price could be better given its take away only. Would have liked salad or something green with it would have been good as a meal.

This is such a gem and, oh joy, sells gluten free food and, even better, it's delicious!! Worth the eleven hour drive to the Highlands for this 😁

We ended up eating here 2 days in a row and we're so glad we did - food was awesome 👌 Service was also really good with some great banter with the staff. We had haddock, chopsteak and chicken burger - they were all delicious and no grease!! At busy times you will have to wait as they cook everything fresh for you. We'll definitely be baxk on our next trip and we won't bother with the hotel restaurant as the food from here was much better quality :0)

Found this little Gem after travelling on the NC500. I am a coeliac so need a gluten free diet. This shop offers gluten free fish and chips that are safe for a coeliacs. The GF is cooked separately in the fryers. It was so reassuring after talking to the chef, finding out the owner has a relation with coeliac too. The staff were super friendly and knowledgeable. Food was reasonably priced and extremely delicious. Would highly recommend this place and the views to sit and eat your food are amazing too.

My wife and I have been visiting the Harbour fish bar in plockton for years, the food is excellent, best fish & chips around, Top marks for Ray and the staff, very organised and professional, always a high standard, every time we’ve visited we chat to other customers and they say the same, Anyone who gives a bad review of this place must need their head looking at, See you in September Ray.

We had Haddock chips and mushy peas - they looked lovely but the fish is only a thin piece of fish so it was very dry and overcooked. The peas were salty. A beautiful location to eat them 😋.

The best battered cod I've tasted for years. Crispy batter, crumbling fresh fish beneath.

On 15.9.23 I had haddock and chips and my wife had fish cake and chips.Everything was freshly cooked to order and tasted delicious. We also ordered a sausage for our dog Dolly. The ladies that served us asked if it was for a dog and they gave us a carton full of sausage on the house. The ladies who served us were really friendly and cheerful.

Visited for lunch, cod fish and chip suppers were delicious. Fish was fresh and the batter tasted delicious. Mushy peas were also very good. Friendly staff. Definitely recommend!

Fish (Haddock) was quite dry, haggis and black pudding was good. Chips ok. Quite reasonably priced.

The vegetarian burger was horrible, the Cook was bad mooded, the till chippy boy was friendly and turned up a little later to play bagpipe at a community ceremony (boat inauguration) edit: we did complain just to hear salad and veg. were out of stock. At least we got some tomatao sauce :-) We appreciate that it is a hard job for some people to stay friendly and if customers are rude it is no fun.

Ok, you asked..... I don't normally leave negative reviews unless I feel really strongly, but.... It was all a bit meh.. distinctly average. Not worth the hype or trip on the day we went. Fish was overcooked and dry, yet cooked to order. Chips were not hot and were overcooked and crispy. Much of my wife's meal ended up in the bin. Certainly had better elsewhere. Not close to being as good as my local chippy back home and not on the same planet as one we go to in Portree. Sorry, I call it as I find it!

A fantastic chippy! I came here a number of years ago by accident and I’ve been telling anyone that’s coming up this way to visit (I live in Greater Manchester). I managed to get back this week and my goodness, I wasn’t disappointed. The fish is battered perfectly, the chips are proper chippy chips and the curry sauce was lovely. The gentleman was a lovely man too. We ate our food on the benches to the side, but you can take it down to the harbour side if you want dinner with a view. I’d say it was SLIGHTLY on the pricey side, but worth it. We paid approx £9 for a small chips, curry sauce, tartare sauce and a children’s fish supper (small fish and chips). I will be coming back here next time I’m in the area. Opening times are 1pm to 8pm if this helps anyone.

It's a chippy but an average one. Fish very dry and overall disappointing. Given the small selection of restaurants available on plockton it could be a lot better.

Best gluten free fish and chips I’ve had in years! I’ve been finding the haddock really poor quality for a while but this was thick, flakey and delicious! The batter was flavoursome and crispy and the chips were also great.

Lovely white fish with excellent crispy and light batter accompanied by great chips. Friendly chat with the staff while we were waiting for our food to be cooked.

Advertising vegan food. Not available, chips cooked in beef fat. Response from owner telling me to talk to them. I did, and was told nothing vegan was available at all. I understand things being temporarily out of stock but it's not hard to reflect that on the menu.

A Sunday drive to Plockton and a tasting for fish and chips. We were not disappointed. Great fresh fish in a nice batter. Great fresh Chips cooked in fresh oil. Helped that I was first in the door at 1pm. Good craic with the owner how runs a great wee establishment. Good value too in hard times for everyone. Well worth a visit if you are passing through Plockton.

Don't be fooled by the small shack, the haddock I had was fresh and flakey, in a crisp batter and the oil used to fry was clearly fresh. The prices are reasonable for what you get. Added to our favourites.

Interesting little fish bar and useful for food with picnic tables outside. Staff friendly enough but would prefer crispier chips. Mushy peas were too salty and fish batter would have been better if it had been a bit thicker and crispier. It is the start of the season though so perhaps getting back into the swing of things. Plockton as a whole is lovely.

Never had a bad meal. Haddock and Cod were fresh and everything is cooked to order.

Literally visited the village to find this chippy as it was the nearest to where we were driving , during our highland holiday. We discovered 2 things on the day , the best fish supper ever and a picturesque , smart and lovely village, tucked away in the Highlands.

We got here right before closing time and had a great dinner of fish and chips and some pizzas (including a gluten-free pizza). The owner was friendly and welcoming. The fish and chips were hand-breaded and fried right in front of us, so definitely fresh-tasting. We sat at the picnic table right outside the shack, it was a nice authentic setting. He did say that he sometimes runs out of items due to supply issues (thanks Brexit!), but he had everything we wanted that night. We even finished our meal with some soft-serve ice cream cones with a Flake bar (the "99"). There aren't many food options in Plockton, but this was a good quick place to get a meal.

I had battered haddock and it was so good. It was a really good size compared to some places. Fish was cooked to perfection, batter light and crispy. My husband had king rib supper and he bought a red pudding for us to try. Everything was amazing. Can't wait to go back

Preso il pesce li perche' tutti gli altri erano completi. Un paese di 4 anime con i ristoranti pieni ! Per fortuna e' molto buono, abbiam preso solo il pesce perche' il pane era finito niente hamburger quella sera. Il pesce fresco ben cotto e le patatine ottime. fanno 1 piatto ma e' decente non il solito piatto riscaldato come si usa in inghilterra. Nella media dei fish chip uno dei migliori provati. Certo deve piacere il fish&chip altrimenti ....

They had ran out of potatoes when I arrived which made me laugh as all I wanted was chips.. Friendly funny staff,.. I got sausages instead with added double entendre thrown in my direction 🤣🤣🤣

Absolutely rank to say the least the good reviews let us down. Didn’t even give the dogs the food we couldn’t eat it was rotten. Can tell all of the food is frozen. The milkshakes were warm too. I feel sorry for everyone queued out the door about to realise they were better with roadkill as it would have tasted fresher

Got lunch here as a family group of twelve. We were impressed with the variety of options. We ordered fish and chips, sausages, and pizzas. All the food was excellent. I'm a vegan and I enjoyed the vegan pizza. The children demolished the peperoni pizza and the chips. My wife said the fish was delicious. This is a small place with limited seating, but as a take away for lunch while exploring Plockton I recommend it highly whatever your taste.

Brilliant little chippy! This has got to be the smallest takeaway I've ever been in! However the chips were awesome! Cooked fresh, chunky and crispy and dry!! These were delicious, and sat on the Loch shore was just brilliant! It's worth going just to see this tiny Grm of a place, but the chips are outstanding!!

Nice fish , I had monkfish whilst my wife had Dover sole, chips were disappointing, tho the fish was nice, my wife ( a cook ) felt they were both cooked at too high a temperature as the bread crumb coating was very crispy.

We had haddock and chips expecting them to be good based on TA reports but were very disappointed . The whole meal was heavy , the chips soggy and the fish batter also . The portion size was adequate but having had fish n chips in Ullapool at the Seafood Shack a few days before this really disappointed by comparison. And they wanted to charge for tartar sauce and ketchup sachets - really ? Not to be recommended
