The Happy Cod in South Gloucestershire

Lovely little sandwich shop. Came across this shop by chance and wow! What great sandwiches! Lovely friendly staff! And you have to try the cheesy egg (scotch egg)! Amazing!! 5*!

We always get our fish and chips from Frydays as they are the best in Yate. Tonight however we were very disappointed. The large Cod, which is very expensive was smaller than small!!!! We will not buy from here again and will try another local fish and chip shop....any recommendations will be very welcome

After reading lots of great reviews about this place I thought id give it a go and chose the chilli cheese chips. It's been a long time since I've had to give a bad review but I'm seriously not impressed. I appreciate using Uber means that sometimes delivery drivers may not take care of food during transport and it may arrive a bit mushed around, but the presentation was pretty diabolical 🙈 I don't know if the staff were having an off day today but generally the entire thing was a let down, for £9 I expected the portion size to be bigger, not many chips at all and the ones that I did get were those 'bottom of the bag' type ones - which I call cardboard chips. I don't mind a few, it's expected with chips but not the majority of the portion being those kinds. Didn't think much of the chilli, it was really bland and to be honest tasted more like Bolognese - with not much cheese on top... It didn't taste like any of the food was seasoned either. Delivery was fairly fast from when it said the food had been picked up - though I can only assume the food wasn't very hot to begin with because I only live 4 roads away and still had to heat it up when it got here. All in all I'm disappointed. I would definitely not order the chilli cheese chips again and unfortunately would be hesitant trying anything else from here again.
