The Happiest Sandwich shop in Gateshead

Very over priced and the foods are mostly like packet foods. He shops at costco.. so it explains for it self. The owner is very in your face stands around talking far to much to every one that walks into the shop. ( He trying to hard) I'm not sure how this place is still running as no one goes in and it's never open half of the time. The sandwiches are your box standard meal deal kind of thing. Only thing is fresh cooked is bacon . The other foods are not home made. The shop is absolutely tiny!! It puts me off as the staff are to in your face and when he cooks the smell and steam off foods goes straight on your clothes. So I would stand outside! As I said I don't know how this shop is still in business. Avoid dirty and food is over priced box standard shop brought foods.

We called for sandwiches and drinks for an impromptu picnic. The bacon egg mayo was good but a little "sloppy" to eat standing up! Luckily the owner had given us serviettes!

Stopped for coffees and a bacon sandwich on a drizzly day. Warmest of welcoms from the owner and lovely coffee and food to enjoy. Warm, relaxed little place; good food, good service, good times. Highly recommend.

Visted for the first time today to try out something new for breakfast. The full English was lovely, portion size was great and the man that served us was very friendly. The food took a little while to come out as there was only one member of staff serving & cooking, but we didn't mind as food was worth the wait :) My only suggestion would be to offer the option of toast or an english muffin with the breakfast instead of a bread bun.

I called in recently into this little gem for a breakfast consisting of a bacon and egg roll and a latte. A warm welcome awaits from the owner Mark. A real cosy atmosphere,a good selection of food and just 2 minutes from the Gibside National trust property makes it an ideal stop off.My roll and latte were a delight and resonably priced. All in all a first class eatery and one I would highly recommend.

'Why havent we been here before?' asked my partner. Didnt realise you could sit in. Everything was great. Food, service, value. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended.

What can I say, miserable around. I feel someone made a great mistake in their new staffing on site. They maybe being ironic with the name now?

We called at the "Happiest Sandwich Shop" while out for a walk on the Derwent Walk. Tea and coffee were good, and my sandwich was a whopper! My son said his was the best burger he'd had - "better then Mc*" and he loves them. Closes at 1 on a Saturday though.
