Lovely food and service from Kaitlyn

Food is alright, but a bit pricey. They only told me the lunch menu is not available on Friday when I asked, which is not what it said on their website.

My friend and I came here about 2 weeks ago as it was his birthday. To be honest I wasn't too optimistic but thought I'd give it one last chance. The last 2 meals I had here were pretty awful and expensive too. Raw sweet potato in my pasta one time and just overall not great taste or value. Less than bog standard. That goes for the service too. Slow and rude. HOWEVER, this time I must say we were pleasantly surprised! Food and drinks came promptly and were cooked to perfection. Wait staff were lovely. Kind, accommodating and just overall pleasant, leading to a relaxed easy experience. Even got us our free refills so we could sit and have one more drink before we needed to leave. The place has had a hell of an over haul with staff and service and it shows as everything felt way better. Everything WAS better. Keep doing what you're doing!! Thank you for changing my opinion. Extra thanks to the waiter who served us. I'm so sorry I can't remember your name but this was on the 11th of november around 2pm. Such chivalry for a young man in his early 20s. Valued member of staff right there.

My daughter needs gluten free, and this place is amazing. They were really helpful and pleasant. Would definitely recommend

Service was exceptional from Georgia who was efficient, warm and friendly. My tender rack of ribs was, as always, mouthwatering. The place seemed full of contented happy people enjoying their experience!

Service and atmosphere is nice but the average food is not worth the steep prices in my opinion.

What a brilliant experience we had at TGIs Metrocentre tonight! Our server, Eden, was absolutely lovely and kept checking up on us throughout our meal. She was super friendly, polite and well-spoken!

Can’t thank Joseph S enough for fabulous service, friendly, lovely manner and all round great guy. Refil drinks not a problem always smiling. cheers we’ve always enjoyed coming to TGI Fridays but will definitely be back next month for my sons birthday treat 🤗

Just felt I had to write a review went here last night for my grandson 14th birthday there was 11 of us , the food is absolutely shocking deep fried greasy chicken with sesame seeds it's vile to cut the story short as a really have no words it was £100 for me and my partner fir greasy chicken and wings and fries ! The only good comment a can say is the staff where lovely but that's it , no wonder they are closing branches elsewhere , would never in a million years return .

It says half price rack Tuesday you get £3 off making it £20.50p rip off tastes nice but when you get the bill it makes you feel like unhappy!

Visited TGI Friday at Metrocentre today and the food was excellent as always. Fast service and Kerry made sure our drinks were topped up and made our visit a great experience Thank you

Been here a few times with my daughter on our little dad and daughter days out, we had Kaitlyn serving us today and she was very friendly towards myself and my daughter even making her a little balloon dog to keep. Always enjoy my little trips here cause the food is nice and priced well, but today the already excellent service was better

Food was good as always. Customer service from our server was awful, his attitude was absolutely stinking, I understand people have bad days but to be downright rude to customers for no reason is out of order, didnt even ask for the bill and got it shoved down in front of me as if to say “well go away then”, we’d literally only just finished eating!! That was only one of the many things I picked up on from him. Toilets were also absolutely stinking, pure filthy!!

Bland, tacky decor and design of the restaurant. The food is the most basic bulk bought ingredients, blandly cooked with no seasoning or effort. Prices are too high for the frozen food they serve. Staff were friendly but being served by four different waiters over the course of a meal is confusing and unhelpful for customers and that alike. Would not eat again

Just Brilliant. Entire group of staff were accommodating, checked in on us regularly. The food was perfect. Overall kind and professional team, definitely recommend.

We popped in to the metro centre restaurant for food We were quickly greeted and seen to our table. At this point martyn came over and asked us what drinks we would like and how our day had been he interacted with the kids asking them what drinks they would like and if they had enjoyed there day. Martyn was very polite though out our meal he has a great knowledge of the company as we asked him lots of questions about why there is a motorbike in the restaurant about the rowing boat on the ceiling the propeller above the bar and the peacock glass. He answered all our questions we had a really nice evening and the food was fantastic

Went with my wife and two young daughters whilst visiting Newcastle - been a while since I’ve visited a TGIs - in summary the visit was underwhelming. Table we sat at was sticky with dirty cutlery and food debris still stuck to table . The food was expensive for what it was and pretty basic. The only really redeeming thing that made me give this 3 stars was the excellent service we received from our waitress who was brilliant! She helped us with the discount code and was professional and patient with my girls and attentive throughout our meal and did a great job! Give this girl a rise! Unfortunately won’t be going back as value for money is poor :(

Server was good however the price of food compared to the quality lacking. Grossly over priced for terrible food. The pub next door is far better

I have already written a review on trip advisor however I just wanted to say that the food was okay. However, I was not going to write a review but thought it may be worth a mention. I came in on Friday around 4-5 pm for tea. I noticed that one of the waiters would not leave his girlfriend alone who was working on the bar area (or who seemed like his girlfriend). It made me feel terribly uncomfortable and I could actually see that his girlfriend was getting agitated and upset by him. I just think that there is a time and a place to be arguing with your girlfriend. Hopefully the management will pick up on this and bring this up as it made my experience kind of unpleasant. I would also like to say that the service from the waitress who was serving me was decent and fast.

I was disappointed in TGI Metrocentre not having Garlic mash for me at all. I wish they would have Garlic mash for me instead of saying that there is no Garlic mash for me

We went to TGI’s around 9pm after the cinema and they were very accommodating by still serving food to us. Martyn was really friendly and as always food was great!

Martin our server was amazing, very friendly and attentive, ensuring our dining experience was the best it could be.

Really great food and delicious cocktails (Purple Rain in particular) but all very overpriced. The staff were fantastic.

Lovely service even though we were late, they were generous enough to still let us dine in, not only that the food they served was lovely and I enjoyed every bit! The service from our service, Rachel, was so kind, gave us information and she was so patient! I recommend to eat here!

Brought our drinks after the food arrived. Never got a refill on the soda we ordered. Very unimpressed with the service and portion size of food for the price. Garlic bread that came with the kids meals was way too garlicky and hard to eat.

Our waitress mel was outstanding especially with my 2 year old. She got a little upset and mel came straight over and offered her a sticker and defused the situation. Saved us from meltdown, fantastic service from her

Dropped by here on Saturday for lunch time food. However once sat down and saw the menu, their prices have doubled. £20 for a burger. This is not reasonable at all and for a chain restaurant, too expensive. Walked out and went to chiquitos where their mains were priced correctly at £13-14.

Had a lovely visit to the restaurant today. Food was lovely and our server Jenna was fantastic. Serving not only is but other tables she was attentive and kind. Will definitely be back.

Visited today (Sunday 30th July) and have to say was extremely impressed. I have just found out that I have intolerances to wheat and milk. When I told the staff member this she was very helpful and showed me where to find information on the menu. She then alerted her manager who came over and further assisted. He was also very helpful and very friendly and went above and beyond to make our visit as nice as possible. Food was spot on and we enjoyed our meals very much. Highly recommend TGI Metro based upon my experience today, thanks to all the staff for being so friendly and helpful :)

Sat down and drinks order taken by Jenna straight away. Food order taken waiting about 45-60mins for kids meal and burger which i thought was a little long as it was not too busy. Food came and was as expected and is very overpriced and portions have shrank (shrinkflation strikes again) Jenna replaced my finish drink without even asking which is just how i want it to be. Great service👍 Served twice by Jenna and been a pleasure everytime

Our server, Megan did an excellent job for our daughter's 10th birthday celebration. The party package included everything we could want. The table was decorated beautifully. The food was tasty and was served promptly. All the kids were able to choose something they liked and there was plenty of choice from the set menu. Megan and the rest of the team went above and beyond to make sure the party ran smoothly and we had everything we needed. 10/10 would recommend.

This is the best TGI Fridays we have ever been to, the food was excellent and the service was great as usual. Georgia our server was very helpful and great fun!! We go there every year when we are on holiday in Newcastle. With our service dog Poppee!

Loads of parking…. Because it’s empty on a Saturday afternoon. That should have been my first warning. Entered the building and had to go and find a server after waiting 5 minutes. Server was nice and the booth was clean. Unfortunately the prawns were very fishy and un edible. The famous chicken strips were 3/10 at best. The beer was as flat as the atmosphere and the cola was served with the glass full of ice. 6 quid for frozen onion rings, 20 quid for chicken strips….i won’t be be coming back.

Absolutely disgusted at the value for money. Boneless chicken wings(no bigger than 1,5cm squared) £9 & “loaded” potato skins which essentially was mashed potato with skin on. £9 I watched the manager pick up food from the floor with his bare hands. Throw it away, prep a drink & deliver it to a customer AND get food from the grill and deliver it to a table. ALL without washing his hands. Deplorable, I will never set foot in there again.

Well, will start with the positives. Chicken strips starter and cocktails were lovely and the waitress was friendly and helpful. However, the mozzarella dippers were like flat bread pancakes, the Nacho starter had no flavour and some of them were soggy. The main course, I had the chilli chicken pasta, the chicken was dry and the pasta was swimming in fat, like trying to eat slippery eels, had no flavour or seasoning. My wife had the medium rump steak which had no flavour, again, 2 mushrooms, half a tomato and lukewarm fries wrapped in paper (unlike the photo on the menu!), definitely not worth £26! Asked for a coke zero and that tasted like it had been standing for a while, it was barely fizzy. Total cost was £98, with BLC discount came to £83, most certainly not worth half of that. So much for celebrating our anniversary, fast food at 4⭐ restaurant prices. Won't ever set foot in a TGI Friday ever again.

Took my 7 year old son on a ‘boys’ meal out as he really really wanted a burger 🍔. Fridays is around an hour from where we live but I remember going when it was a ‘big’ thing late 90’s. Not much has changed lol. Had a great time, service by Georgia was fantastic and now Tommy can’t wait to go back again.

The food was good, but the sweet potato fries were interesting! That said, Rachel, who served us was outstanding; attentive, entertaining and courteous…thank you. Can’t comment on the atmosphere, as it was a Monday evening, so probably one of their quiet nights, but enjoyable for our group.

Shocking experience here. The service was so bad! We had to ask them to take food and drink orders from us and the price of food for what you get is criminal! Never again! The so called plater on the big plate cost around £25. The total bill was somewhere in the £80 region

Today me and my family received the best service we've ever had in a restaurant, and we eat out a lot! We were served by Joe S and he was so friendly and patient with us and the kids. Couldn't of had better service and he was so helpful and efficient. Every member of staff went above and beyond today, highly recommend this venue

Great place, great atmosphere. Ordered the sesame chicken strips but I didn’t like the sauce so David the server offered to replace the chicken but without sauce. The chicken was really nice after. Great service.

We called in for tea as I do like the burgers. We were shown to our table , there was no introduction and the meus were thrown onto the end of the table. The waitress came over and said "do you want a drink with a very patronising tone, she then asked if we knew what food we wanted. We ordered our burgers which were delicious. She came and cleared the table,asked if we wanted a dessert, when we said no she said ill bring the bill. We were still sitting with our drinks and probably would have changed our minds on desserts but it felt like we were being asked to leave. I won't bother coming back,the cost is expensive and the service is awful

Two burgers were ordered, two disasters were delivered. Both burgers were overcooked and meant that halfway through the burger, it was cold and rock solid with an overwhelming taste of burnt meat. The fries seemed to have the equivalent of a weeks worth of salt on them. At the end of the meal, no-one asked how it was, but this seems to be symptomatic of the experience you can expect here. I recommend avoiding this place.

The service was fast and friendly but sadly the food was low standard. Mac and cheese was tasteless loaded fries were good, sesame chicken was lovely and nachos were stale. The young lady serving us was very pleasant hence the good rating. Wouldn't go back.

Waited a little bit to get seated, but it was well worth it! Came here with my partner from the US and we both thought the decor was very cool, and reminded them of home lol The member of staff that served us was very friendly, attentive and was quick to check to see if we had any allergies - which was appreciated by my partner who has a mushroom allergy Food was amazing, got a steak cooked to perfection and I got a giant ultimate burger - we both agree that the fries/chips stole the show though, they were amazing!!

We were greeted by a lovely girl, who introduced us to our server Joe S, he was pleasant, very helpful and accommodating, and made us feel welcome and comfortable throughout our visit. Food was fab. And my daughter got an unexpected birthday surprise when the staff sang to her and gave her cake and a candle. I’d definitely recommend.

Not often I visit fast food restaurants but on the spur of the moment we chose TGIs in the Metro Centre, Gateshead. So glad we did. Sophie, our server, was exceptional. So polite, happy and informative, a real bubbly (but not too over the top) personality. Excellent. Food was a suitable temperature and well presented.

The food was tasty but expensive for chicken strips and a few chips drawn in by the 2 for 1 deal on cocktails what we didn't realise until we got the bill is the price of a cocktail is £16 !!!!! Really in the North East of England isn't this a London price won't be going back again will try somewhere else in future

I’ve had TGI’s many times but today I was very disappointed. Before we even sat down the seats were full of crums and the glasses our drinks were in weren’t even clean they were half stained yellow! For food I got the Ultimate American Grill which I’m pretty sure is the most expensive thing on their menu. Every part of it was awful it was greasy lacking flavour and some bits weren’t even cooked properly. Some of the servers had a negative and rude tone but not all of them. Disappointed overall though.

Great venue, excellent food. Our server Martyn was brilliant and very friendly and provided wonderful service throughout the dinner. Great atmosphere and good song selection. Nice and quiet during the evening.

An overpriced, caustic blend of fat, salt, and sugar. You know what you’re getting yourself in for with a TGIs - comfortingly predictable.

Our waitress Sophie B was absolutely wonderful and ran around after us non-stop, bringing drinks and giving great suggestions on what to order. Honestly, she was great - major high fives to her! Thank you, Sophie, for looking after us and giving us amazing service. Had the ultimate ribs and wife had the classic ribs, both nice. However, the sauce (both on the ribs and in the pot) and coleslaw was a bit lacking with tiny servings of each, but the ribs were still nice. Bit more sauce would have made them excellent. We'll probably be back again. It is expensive, but we had some good offers (free desserts), so we got our moneys worth. Thanks again, Sophie!

Martin was lovely and very friendly

We visited the restaurant for a family birthday, firstly I must say the staff were excellent, being very attentive and helpful, and facilitated a quick service. However the food they served was less than desirable, basically it was expensive and overpriced, plus the portions were small for the money. The food was typical processed junk food that could have been bought much cheaper elsewhere. The food and value for money did not compare to other better establishments such as the Hard Rock cafe.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Our server Martyn P was fantastic and guessed my accent. We will be back
