We popped in to the metro centre restaurant for food We were quickly greeted and seen to our table. At this point martyn came over and asked us what drinks we would like and how our day had been he interacted with the kids asking them what drinks they would like and if they had enjoyed there day. Martyn was very polite though out our meal he has a great knowledge of the company as we asked him lots of questions about why there is a motorbike in the restaurant about the rowing boat on the ceiling the propeller above the bar and the peacock glass. He answered all our questions we had a really nice evening and the food was fantastic

Went with my wife and two young daughters whilst visiting Newcastle - been a while since I’ve visited a TGIs - in summary the visit was underwhelming. Table we sat at was sticky with dirty cutlery and food debris still stuck to table . The food was expensive for what it was and pretty basic. The only really redeeming thing that made me give this 3 stars was the excellent service we received from our waitress who was brilliant! She helped us with the discount code and was professional and patient with my girls and attentive throughout our meal and did a great job! Give this girl a rise! Unfortunately won’t be going back as value for money is poor :(

I was disappointed in TGI Metrocentre not having Garlic mash for me at all. I wish they would have Garlic mash for me instead of saying that there is no Garlic mash for me

We went to TGI’s around 9pm after the cinema and they were very accommodating by still serving food to us. Martyn was really friendly and as always food was great!

The food was okay. I was not going to write a review but thought it may be worth a mention. I came in on Friday around 4-5 pm for tea. I noticed that one of the waiters would not leave his girlfriend (or who seemed like his girlfriend) alone who was working on the bar area. It made me feel terribly uncomfortable and I could actually see that his girlfriend was getting agitated and upset by him. I just think that there is a time and a place to be arguing with your girlfriend. Hopefully the management will pick up on this and bring this up as it made my experience kind of unpleasant.

This is the best TGI Fridays we have ever been to, the food was excellent and the service was great as usual. Georgia our server was very helpful and great fun!! We go there every year when we are on holiday in Newcastle. With our service dog Poppee!

Well, will start with the positives. Chicken strips starter and cocktails were lovely and the waitress was friendly and helpful. However, the mozzarella dippers were like flat bread pancakes, the Nacho starter had no flavour and some of them were soggy. The main course, I had the chilli chicken pasta, the chicken was dry and the pasta was swimming in fat, like trying to eat slippery eels, had no flavour or seasoning. My wife had the medium rump steak which had no flavour, again, 2 mushrooms, half a tomato and lukewarm fries wrapped in paper (unlike the photo on the menu!), definitely not worth £26! Asked for a coke zero and that tasted like it had been standing for a while, it was barely fizzy. Total cost was £98, with BLC discount came to £83, most certainly not worth half of that. So much for celebrating our anniversary, fast food at 4⭐ restaurant prices. Won't ever set foot in a TGI Friday ever again.

Took my 7 year old son on a ‘boys’ meal out as he really really wanted a burger 🍔. Fridays is around an hour from where we live but I remember going when it was a ‘big’ thing late 90’s. Not much has changed lol. Had a great time, service by Georgia was fantastic and now Tommy can’t wait to go back again.

The food was good, but the sweet potato fries were interesting! That said, Rachel, who served us was outstanding; attentive, entertaining and courteous…thank you. Can’t comment on the atmosphere, as it was a Monday evening, so probably one of their quiet nights, but enjoyable for our group.

We were served by Julian at the metro centre , and he was absolutely fantastic- never missed a beat. Highly recommended excellent service.

Shocking experience here. The service was so bad! We had to ask them to take food and drink orders from us and the price of food for what you get is criminal! Never again! The so called plater on the big plate cost around £25. The total bill was somewhere in the £80 region

Great place, great atmosphere. Ordered the sesame chicken strips but I didn’t like the sauce so David the server offered to replace the chicken but without sauce. The chicken was really nice after. Great service.

Today me and my family received the best service we've ever had in a restaurant, and we eat out a lot! We were served by Joe S and he was so friendly and patient with us and the kids. Couldn't of had better service and he was so helpful and efficient. Every member of staff went above and beyond today, highly recommend this venue

David, our table host was absolutely lovely and went above and beyond to accommodate me and my child for lunch. Service was great! And the food was on point.

We called in for tea as I do like the burgers. We were shown to our table , there was no introduction and the meus were thrown onto the end of the table. The waitress came over and said "do you want a drink with a very patronising tone, she then asked if we knew what food we wanted. We ordered our burgers which were delicious. She came and cleared the table,asked if we wanted a dessert, when we said no she said ill bring the bill. We were still sitting with our drinks and probably would have changed our minds on desserts but it felt like we were being asked to leave. I won't bother coming back,the cost is expensive and the service is awful

Two burgers were ordered, two disasters were delivered. Both burgers were overcooked and meant that halfway through the burger, it was cold and rock solid with an overwhelming taste of burnt meat. The fries seemed to have the equivalent of a weeks worth of salt on them. At the end of the meal, no-one asked how it was, but this seems to be symptomatic of the experience you can expect here. I recommend avoiding this place.

The service was fast and friendly but sadly the food was low standard. Mac and cheese was tasteless loaded fries were good, sesame chicken was lovely and nachos were stale. The young lady serving us was very pleasant hence the good rating. Wouldn't go back.

Waited a little bit to get seated, but it was well worth it! Came here with my partner from the US and we both thought the decor was very cool, and reminded them of home lol The member of staff that served us was very friendly, attentive and was quick to check to see if we had any allergies - which was appreciated by my partner who has a mushroom allergy Food was amazing, got a steak cooked to perfection and I got a giant ultimate burger - we both agree that the fries/chips stole the show though, they were amazing!!

We were greeted by a lovely girl, who introduced us to our server Joe S, he was pleasant, very helpful and accommodating, and made us feel welcome and comfortable throughout our visit. Food was fab. And my daughter got an unexpected birthday surprise when the staff sang to her and gave her cake and a candle. I’d definitely recommend.

Not often I visit fast food restaurants but on the spur of the moment we chose TGIs in the Metro Centre, Gateshead. So glad we did. Sophie, our server, was exceptional. So polite, happy and informative, a real bubbly (but not too over the top) personality. Excellent. Food was a suitable temperature and well presented.

The food was tasty but expensive for chicken strips and a few chips drawn in by the 2 for 1 deal on cocktails what we didn't realise until we got the bill is the price of a cocktail is £16 !!!!! Really in the North East of England isn't this a London price won't be going back again will try somewhere else in future

I’ve had TGI’s many times but today I was very disappointed. Before we even sat down the seats were full of crums and the glasses our drinks were in weren’t even clean they were half stained yellow! For food I got the Ultimate American Grill which I’m pretty sure is the most expensive thing on their menu. Every part of it was awful it was greasy lacking flavour and some bits weren’t even cooked properly. Some of the servers had a negative and rude tone but not all of them. Disappointed overall though.

Great venue, excellent food. Our server Martyn was brilliant and very friendly and provided wonderful service throughout the dinner. Great atmosphere and good song selection. Nice and quiet during the evening.

An overpriced, caustic blend of fat, salt, and sugar. You know what you’re getting yourself in for with a TGIs - comfortingly predictable.

Our waitress Sophie B was absolutely wonderful and ran around after us non-stop, bringing drinks and giving great suggestions on what to order. Honestly, she was great - major high fives to her! Thank you, Sophie, for looking after us and giving us amazing service. Had the ultimate ribs and wife had the classic ribs, both nice. However, the sauce (both on the ribs and in the pot) and coleslaw was a bit lacking with tiny servings of each, but the ribs were still nice. Bit more sauce would have made them excellent. We'll probably be back again. It is expensive, but we had some good offers (free desserts), so we got our moneys worth. Thanks again, Sophie!

We visited the restaurant for a family birthday, firstly I must say the staff were excellent, being very attentive and helpful, and facilitated a quick service. However the food they served was less than desirable, basically it was expensive and overpriced, plus the portions were small for the money. The food was typical processed junk food that could have been bought much cheaper elsewhere. The food and value for money did not compare to other better establishments such as the Hard Rock cafe.

Visit TGI Fridays many times over the UK , but this one isn’t good at all, they have the cheek to put the prices up and they give you this as your food! Don’t order Times Square shared not worth the money

My wife and I popped into here for lunch to save us having to sort something out for this evening, as we will be attending two Easter Vigil Services. It is a while since we had been to one of these restaurants. We will certainly not be coming back in a hurry. Talk about Highway Robbery! I had the starter of Bacon and Cheese Potato Skins at a cost of £8.00, and when they were delivered I was shocked to see a plate with 5 pieces of potato skin, £1.60 per piece! Our Maple covered Chicken Pieces, at a cost of £20.00, did not fare much better. We were sat in the lean to area where there were a family with two shrieking children, and with nothing to deaden the sound, the noise was horrendous. I would not advise any one to go here unless you have very deep pockets and don't mind eating and expect to hold a conversation with tour partner.

5 stars across the board, we had the half rack of ribs and the rump steak, delicious. Our server Georgia was fantastic! Really friendly and engaging she is a credit to your establishment! Thank you very much

It was my first time visiting there 18 January. the food was very good, the price is reasonable for a restaurant with good service. However the poster and the menu did not state it clear that the cocktails deal was only available with the same choice. The staff didn’t remind us either. Only till we get the bill, we asked why is it £6-7 more expensive then they explained to us the deal has to be with the same drink but it weren’t stated anywhere. It feels a bit false advertising like.

Great service from start to finish. Food was delicious & the server was lovely, our 2 year grandson made conversation with the lady serving us & although his sentences weren't full she was fantastic and made a proper effort to have a conversation with him. Will be back when we are in the area again.

Fantastic meal at TGI’s! Racheal was amazing and patient with our very indecisive family! All food came exactly as ordered. Everybody enjoyed their meals including the kiddos. Highly recommend! 😁

Arrived in Gateshead late on a Sunday. Little choice of food so ended up in TGI as open and very close to hotel. Food good, smallish portions, but so expensive! 7 strips of chicken breast, possibly making up a whole breast, and a small ‘basket’ of chips and 2 dips, almost £20. One starter, one main, one tiny cup of tea and a beer £44! Unbelievable. Food thankfully tasted good and staff friendly, if slightly put out we’d arrived 20mins before close, and it was evident kitchen closedown and cleaning was well underway. Given the prices won’t be returning to any branch anytime soon.

Random treat night for our daughter. Georgia our server was lovely and service was fab. We were the only people at first (Thats the only reason for a lower atmosphere score) but she made it welcoming and friendly and place was clean. My little girl got to chose our seat etc. Food was lovely, bought 2 sharers rather than meals and walked away stuffed. Thank you again. X

Really enjoyed our meals and drinks and the service was excellent. The restaurant was done out well and was spotlessly clean. The only downside was the prices for the meals and drinks. £19.60 for a glazed burger and fries and £6.25 for a pint of tgi pilsner lager and £10.75 for a large rosè wine.

Beth at Metrocentre delivered excellent customer service! Full of smiles and very helpful. She deserves some recognition for her hard work.

Staff are always amazing in TGI metrocentre. We usually get served by Kate and Kerry. They are both so friendly and really look after our family. Thanks to you both and also to the rest of the staff for always being so kind. We return almost every week, due to the lovely food and friendly staff.

The manager by name David brought the bill to me and my friend and we asked very politely to if he can split the bill by 2 and he responded very rapidly‘it’s not my job to split it , do it in your phone and tell me how much it will be ‘ We would never go there again because if him!!!

The food was okay, but it was pretty basic for the premium price tag. I had the "Big American", which was a number of different meats. While they tasted okay, the steak was tasty but was just a thin sandwich steak, the chicken was a flavourful thin slice, the ribs had no flavour and absolutely needed the sauce. The pork was a great size and tasted great, so I know they can get some bits right. My partner had a pasta which was no better than one which could be made at home, it looked to be reheated rather than freshly prepared. The staff need to learn their menu better, mocktails do indeed have the 2for1 deal and is printed in a number of ways in the menu, and they need to make sure when they fix that mistake, they don't just serve a cocktail with "I know it doesn't look the same, but trust me it does". As I was driving home, this would have been a HUGE problem if I hadn't tasted and rejected the alcoholic cocktail I was served. Overall it was a disappointing meal for the price paid. Not somewhere we will be returning to.

Worst steak I've ever eaten! Asked for medium and it arrived well done and burned, plus was pretty small. Also had to ask for the garlic butter that was supposed to come with it and this was the only thing that made it edible. And all this for £26, which would get you a high quality steak in a steak house. Never again!

Been here multiple times and left glowing praise but today I just can't extol it. Very slow service (about 30 mins). Used to be much quicker.

Regularly use Fridays , but found this to be empty and with the price increase here I know why. The menu appeared smaller and very different to other Fridays, for example the buffalo chicken burger had 3 pieces balanced on a very plain grilled dry, chicken. Not as it was. Very expensive , things were around £2-£3 more than on the online menu. So for a main course basic meal and a desert with a drink each this was £65. Which for 2 people is crazy. Manager was very rude and blunt, and had to approve everything due to a gluten intolerance. Just don’t bother , eat in a nicer restaurant for much less. Edit *** went for a full Chinese banquet at a well reviewed restaurant, which cost £15 less than Fridays

Seated very quickly and introduced to our server who was very friendly and couldn’t have helped more. Drink refills were given before asked for, food came out very quickly and was very good…all in all, an excellent lunch made even better by our lovely server(Vienna at Metro Ctr)

Visited on the 22/01 and the staff could not have cared less. Food is always good at tgi’s but they missed any chance of upselling since we were completely ignored. We sat with empty glasses and plates for 20 minutes before someone acknowledged and at this point we just wanted to leave after watching 5 members of staff hovering around the till area having a laugh before a few of them finished at 9. It took all 5 of them to clear one section of the floor with 2 of them sweeping and the rest of them watching and laughing. When we arrived there were multiple dirty tables on our way to our table and when we left they still hadn’t even be wiped down yet. I’m glad your staff enjoy being at work to the point they can have a laugh but it has come to the expense of customer satisfaction.

To be honest, the food is pretty good, but the service was appalling. Most of the young staff were stood huddled together chatting amongst themselves whilst many customers sat waiting to be served or waited on. I recently bought a chimichanga for £18.80 which came with absolutely no sides. Now whilst this was quite tasty, almost £20 for a single item the size of a small burrito with no sides at all is really not good value for money. Thankfully the appalling server forgot to charge me for some items, so that's a plus. I won't be returning to this one...

Went to the teesside park resturant when it first opened years ago and was'nt impressed, but after visiting the metro center TGI in the new year I was hooked!! Glazed chicken strips with sweet chillie dip and fries excellent!! Staff were so polite and attentive and the venue was good too ( the grandson spotted the xmas elf was still there)!!

WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE AS USUAL! KERRYN IS 5 STARS! WE'LL BE BACK!

Over priced and not great food but the staff were great

Firstly, my favourite restaurant is TGI Fridays. I nearly always have the nachos and cajun fajita chicken. Never normally have an issue but today there was an issue as there were bones in a few pieces of the chicken as I was getting towards the end of my chicken. I just put these on the side of the sizzler dish just to let them know at the end. When the waitress came to clear our plates, I pointed out that there were bones in the chicken,not to cause an issue but to highlight this so other dishes can be checked. The waitress took my plate to the manager, David. After a few minutes he came over in the most rude and intimidating manner with no apologises claiming there was no bone, it was seasoning. I did explain I knew this was bone and was only raising this so they were aware of this for other people. He continued to say this was seasoning rather than offer any apologises. My husband and mother in law called him out on his approach and he apologised at this point about his approach rather than the chicken. I'm not happy with the poor people skills and ability to deal with a customer in an appropriate manner that was raising awareness that they had bones in the chicken. Not sure I would visit again after this. Just to warn, it's overpriced, our waitress was lovely but the manager made this a bad experience. I wouldn't recommend. We were looking forward to having dessert but left after this.
