Amazing food my favourite restaurant!!

Worst diner ever. Surprised it’s open given the service we experienced at the time was anything to go by. So unlike the theme of which we received in USA that’s it’s hard to believe it is the same chain. Staff serving us lacked the appetite for helpfulness.

Georgia the colleague was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for her

Was served by Celine and she was utterly phenomenal, so sweet and entirely on top of everything. The second our glasses were empty, she was over with a refill and often came to check up on us but not to the point it was annoying. Food came quickly, and was really lovely! Definitely highly recommended

First time visiting a TGI Fridays and won’t be the last, the food was amazing! Our server Megan J was fantastic, very bubbly and gave us the best recommendations. We had an allergy and she got the allergy tablet out to make sure the food we wanted was suitable! Amazing customer service :)

Unlimited free refillable soft drinks, and I mean it truly was unlimited

Rachel was the best simply sublime best waitress ever in whole of time. She even posed for a daft photo . Food was good, beer was better, Rachel was best

It was such a lovely experience after a long day. Georgia was my server. I felt the passion out of her. Her smile made my day. 2 for 1 cocktail is always encouraging. The two course menu also has a good selection.

Is the worst I have experienced. They charge me 4 times for the same bill. The prices are astronomic. Bad. We will never go there. We are very disapointed

Much improved from my last few visits. To be honest TGI quality has been dropping slowly over the years across the board, not specifically this place. Used to be a class place to go 30 years ago.

Jenna served us, and the atmosphere, location, and service were all first rate. We will definitely go back.

Went with my boyfriend after the cinema last Wednesday. It was quiet but the service was excellent. Georgia is really bubbly and accommodating. She really brightened our already great evening.

Not too busy so quickly seated, service was profession as well as friendly. The menu has great selections but prices seemed high compared to similar dishes close by. The burger, fries and corn Dog were really tasty and hot, but I found the price of an additional dip and the pickled slaw were ridiculously expensive. £4.60 for a small pot of pickled slaw when only the onion is pickled is beyond belief. That said the meal, experience and service makes up for that.

Such a great friendly place. staff very welcoming. Food was the best food I've ever tasted. Rachel who served us was so lovely great with my kids making balloons and giving them colouring things. The pride summer cooler cocktails are the best it's a must try.

Came in for a couple of drinks and snacks, absolutely stellar experience! Lovely drinks and picky starters, would definitely recommend. Server Georgia went above and beyond

Not fantastic in all honesty! I think this place is very overrated, the starters were pretty decent but the mains weren't very nice at all, struggled to finish mine to be honest! Plus it is very overpriced for what you get! Service was good though so still left a tip!

As the other restaurant I can definitely recommend the deserts that are offered. They are really tasty and tall portions. We only had Sides and Appetizers for dinner and for the prices these were really small… that could be better! The service was good, very friendly and quick

I really feel like the waiter here was amazing! he absolutely went above and beyond to make my boys feel apart of the experience and I really thank him for that! we are visiting from Portsmouth and tgi Fridays wouldn't be my normal place to go, not for any other reason than it's not that local to me at home but it was right outside my hotel so we had dinner there! the food was really good and the kids really loved it, the lady that showed us to our seats was really lovely and friendly but the waiter would actually make me want to go to the tgis at home in Fareham because if all your staff are trained like this I know we are going to have a nice experience, I hope he gets recognised for a great job he is doing!

Lovely service, nice atmosphere. The staff are friendly and attentive. The food is good, just what you'd expect from a fast food TGIs. Nothing particularly of note. Just good service and decent food

Lovely relaxed place with great staff. We had Lindsey serving us behind the bar and she was fantastic, couldn’t do enough for us. Will definitely be coming back to the Gateshead restaurant.

Food was tasty, although a bit dry. Salad very fresh! Selection of vegetarian dishes ok.

I attended your restaurant at Gateshead. We were welcomed and sat down and we ordered drinks. Then we ordered 2 starters and 2 mains plus sides. I ordered the TGI Fridays chicken strips as a starter. The chicken came out and I toke a bite out of my first bit of chicken and could feel something sharp in my mouth. I pulled it out my mouth and to my horror it was a bit of hard sharp plastic !!!! I alerted a waiter who got the manager and the manager toke a closer look and was horrified. He immediately went and looked around the kitchen and could not see where the plastic had come from stating it must have already been inside the chicken from your factory !!!! I agreed as i didn't see it when I put it in my mouth ! Now as you can imagine I was absolutely disgusted and could not finish the starter and we had to politely decline our mains !! We offered to pay for my partner's starter and our drinks after the manager said there was no charge for the chicken but he insisted the bill was covered. Now as grateful as I am this had left me disgusted and I have a cut in my mouth caused by the plastic. We are regular visitors to your restaurants but this has massively put me off ever wanting to go back to any of your restaurants. Not only is this a massive breech of health and safety it is also very worrying that your factories totally missed this and aloud it to be dispatched to your restaurants. Had this been a child who eat it they could have swallowed it and it could have caused alot of internal damage leading for them to seek medical care. Luckily however I spat it out as soon as I felt how sharp it was ! The manager was fantastic and advised me to contact head office which I have with no reply as of yet.

Joe and jolene were lovely waiters went above and beyond with the service got anything we needed and kept us with regular refills on our drinks would definetley come back and the food was great

1st time attending and i wasn't disappointed. Service was fast and the staff were polite and friendly. Bathroom was nice and clean Nice tasty meal Reasonably priced

Rachael was lovely. Very attentive and the food was excellent. We'd have preferred a bit more variety with the music but just an observation didn't really affect our night.

Its only my second time at TGI's and visited the same location twice now. The staff are really lovely and knowledgeable, food hot and really good. I'm not usually one to visit chains but the staff really make this place a great one to visit. Will be back. They need a bonus. 😊 P.s im here for the bottomless sesame chicken. Staff that need a mention. Georgia, the floor manager and the lad with the black hair. Legends.

Food was okay but overpriced for what we had

Customer service is shocking. Came here 2 years ago and a waiter was lovely up until the point of payment...noticed we didn't give him a tip and he very loudly started complaining to another member of staff. Returned last week, same waiter, polite until the point of payment. Stropped off when he didn't get tipped and didn't even bother to acknowledge us when we thanked him upon leaving/turned his back to us. Don't work in a customer-facing job if your have poor communication skills 😂

Busy but staff were friendly and food arrived in good time. Lovely waitress and FOH staff.

Awful. Paid £13 for a tiny portion of undercooked macaroni and a pint of waterey lager. Felt totally ripped off. If your going to try and pass off a supermarket ready meal as the genuine article, at least give it the full 4 mins in the microwave. Terrible place with indifferent staff. More interaction from a Mcxxxds drive through. We come to this restaurant atleast once every 3 months, I don't go for the food we go because of the environment, the friendly understanding staff, we went last night to celebrate the start of our sons Easter holidays and got served by the lovely Rachel.. honestly, what a gem, she answered any questions and always had a beaming smile. This restaurant at the right time is perfect for neurodivergent kids and big kids alike. Most restaurants have lost that family meal atmosphere, but this venue certainly has not. Low music, not too bright lights.

The food was ok but they have changed the glaze on the ribs which is disappointing. The staff were friendly but All over the place Got served by five different staff members Sadly I can't recommend this place for the price They are better restaurants out there

Seems to have gone downhill in here. Very quiet tonight, at one point we were the only people here. Our bill was just over £300 for 7 adult meals and 2 kids meals. The food was okay, but portions have gotten smaller and more expensive. Our server was quite impolite and not very enthusiastic about looking after us so he did not get a tip. Banging drinks down on the tables and being quite blunt and giving one word answers.

Food reminded me of Bob and Berts, but at twice the cost. 4 burnt ribs for over £20 is a rip-off. The staff were nice, though.

Definitely worth a visit. We ate here twice over a three-day period, whilst staying at the Holiday Inn next door! We were served by Jolene on the first occasion and Reanna on the second. Both were really helpful. The food was excellent. I'd highly recommend the full rack ofultimate ribs....just don't plan on eating dessert afterwards!

The lady who served us was outstanding. Thought the prices were a little high though.

Fabulous night. Visited for my sons birthday. From the moment we entered the service was fantastic Rachael our server was amazing, the team spoiled our kids with balloons and TGI merch. The food was delicious and served in a timely manner. 10 out of 10.

Very poor, wish I would have read reviews before going. Was freezing cold in there, I ate my food fast to get out of there, even mentioned about the cold and the waiter agreed. Food was nice, but think the lad that served me needs some training. Sat down looked at the menu was asked if I want to order I asked for a minute. He walked away come straight back and asked what I want to order, I said I need another minute but will order a Coke. He went to get the drink straight away come straight back in about 30 seconds and asked if I want to order I said no I need a minute!! Felt rushed as soon as I ate my last bit was asked if I want the bill. I would go elsewhere, wasn't a nice dining experience

Ok place, it was a cold day and it was a bit chilly in the place. But the food and service was fine

Lovely family meal. Reanna our server made the visit a good experience for us. She was so lovely and attentive, she was great with our son and engaged him well. She's a credit to TGI's.

The prices are high, but the food is so-so. The fries are raw inside and the cabbage served in a glass is a joke. Great service.

Over priced, deep fried, beige food

Awful. Wouldn’t return. We walked in and sat down. No one was around to offer a menu. We had to go up and ask for a menu to which we saw the staff stood talking. They offered us the desert menu at first. We then sat for 10-15 minutes waiting and no one was around to take our order. We ended up having to go up and ask to order a drink and our food - not sure if this is normal for this TGI Fridays. When the food arrived half of it was cold. Staff look miserable and when asked about how the chicken dish we ordered could have come out cold the response was ‘I haven’t got a clue mate’. Not a very pleasant experience - would not return and definitely wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

We went for lunch with my wife, hoping to be a quick bite. Turned out to be 30 minutes, wait for one salad and wrap. Chicken Fajita wrap was overpowered with red onions. That's the only taste I can remember. Salad, we asked to be put into takeaway box. Presentation for £10.50 is very poor and to charge £4.20 for one 330ml bottle of Fanta is a joke. Sorry you won't see us again.

Three of us suffered from sickness and diarrhea through the night after a late afternoon lunch here. Coincidence? If Gateshead council weren't closed for the weekend, I'd report it to environmental services but by the time they get around to taking action, whatever it was that made us all ill would be gone from our systems. We definitely won't be going back.

Echt slecht eten. Tot 2x toe mijn frietjes laten vernieuwen, maar die gingen denk ik geen een oven in. Spare ribs waren echt niet goed gaar , ik denk dat ze uit de vriezer kwamen ofzo. 1kant was echt niet goed gaar. Smaak op zich wel goed. Snap het ook wel heel de tent is elke dag bijna leeg en het is een mega grote tent. Nooit meer. Ps collega's waren het met mij eens, drama.

Used to be a regular visitor at TGI's years ago, but now the atmosphere has gone, the staff hardly crack a smile and the food which took an age was average to say the least. Very disappointed in the change!

Definitely overpriced for the quality and quantity of food offered. Two burgers and two soft drinks came to £41.15. Moreover, the service wasn’t up to much and felt perfunctory. Most likely won’t return.

Haven't been in around a year and was very disappointed. The food was of poor standard the place wasn't very clean. I never complain but this was just unacceptable of a top restaurant and 56 pound for one wine one beer small nachos burger fries and dippers. The only good thing was the very pleasant and apologetic young man that served us. This place needs looking at

Can't fault the service, but the chef can't do medium rare steak. And for the price, they should be able to provide what you ask for. Or it's pointless asking how you want your steak!

Food was nice, when it eventually came. Service was appalling. Slow, no attention given to the table, starting clearing the table whilst half of us were still eating. Not the TGI experience it used to be. There are far cheaper places around that have a much better experience than we had here

Drab poor quality food, drab surroundings. £5 for a few chips with a squirt of cheese sauce and a sprinkle of fake bacon. The meal was 1 star at best and did not live up to the menu description or photos. We won't be using Fridays again.

Food ok but way overpriced for what it is. Massive portions are unnecessary. Waiters not on the ball. No atmosphere on this particular Saturday evening. Not many customers.

Great food and a great place to eat. One of my favourites!

My wife is vegetarian and they served her the meat version of a starter ( she asked for meatless sesame strips ) and was served chicken The excuse given by what I assume was the manager ( what I asked for ) was maybe the server didn’t hear … I’ll call BS on that. There wasn’t that much background noise … or turn the music down if the staff cannot hear. At no point was the common sense of , oh there’s a vegan burger as the main catch anybody’s attention to quiz the order. Nor did the server read the order back to us… Sadly a vegetarian has now inadvertently eaten meat , and the staff did not care nor claim to be able to do anything about it when we drew it to their attention. The restaurant staff just don’t seem to care or are powerless to do anything. Either way , I cannot recommend this place to anybody. Disgusted in all honesty. If this had been gluten to somebody intolerant , what would the after effects be? Avoid … the metro center has plenty other places to go, I’d suggest you go elsewhere

Friendly staff prompt service in this somewhat run down this, internally it's great but not in the most flash location and the MetroCentre one no doubt picks up much of the local trade. The food and service here was great, the place was clean too. Would come back again.

Our party of 6 took nearly 3hrs long wait between courses. Expensive compared to Nando s 2 for one on the cocktails at £13.00 is a rip off we are in Gateshead man not in London.

Clean, nice environment and friendly staff who are accommodating and seem to actually enjoy their job, nice to see. Food is usually tasty and enjoyable but it’s very pricey for what it is and the amount you get, but nice as an occasional treat.

1st time been to a tgi Fridays and it took over 50 mins to get our starters witch come out cold then 1hr 10 mins to get our mains witch we sent 2 meals back as they were over cooked and disgusting and they were not busy lucky if there was 20 people in and 6 of them was us they blamed it on been short staffed itge service was bad as well I'd totally avoid this place I give them the dues they did knock the 2 bad meals off but still didn't compensate the fact we were hungry and had to go to mcdonalds

Staying at the nearby Holiday Inn Express on business and popped here one evening for something to eat. Attentive and speedy service, refilled my drink proactively and wings were great. Burgers a bit on the small side but tasty, as were the fries. Quiet at 730 on a Wednesday evening.

Staff were very friendly and the manager was great in helping us get discounts on the meals. Food was nice and the restaurant was surprisingly quiet.

Amazing food but the service was fantastic! Our youngest has a dairy allergy and they were really on the ball with making sure she had something that was safe for her to eat, also the lady who makes the balloon animals, THANK YOU A LOT as my son was saying, the kids had a ball and you made their night ❤️ I'd definitely reccomend this place to anyone.

I came here to celebrate my grandson's 6th birthday. I've been here many times before and have always loved it. I had a full rack of baby back ribs, with Jack Daniel sauce, fries, sweetcorn and coleslaw. Absolutely delicious. Family had a range of meals from the menu, including 2 children's meals. Everyone enjoyed their food. The grand finale was the staff singing happy birthday to my grandson. Great atmosphere, great food, great staff. Highly recommended.

Our bartender was amazing and the food was top notch. Drink were on point.

American themed diner. Loved the yellow taxi parked outside as we walked in. Service was top notch. I loved the glazes/sauces Chili and maple syrup I think. Delicious. The steak fries was good. So we're the sesame chicken strips. My daughter loved the corn dog. The music was a bit out of place. Not that American tbh. Not cheap but affordable. I'll go again for those tastes.

Food was disgusting cold and waited ages ,and the place was empty so no excuse.

Food was realy nice. Customer service was very good. Was quiet when I was there. However food took longer than I would have expected. But not to the point of being disapointed. The portion size was so small, I would have expected it to be for a child rather then an adult despite the price. So for this I would probably go elsewhere sadly. Or use an alternative TGI Friday. Portions are a bit of an insult in my opinion as well as the other several people who I was with, that completely agreed. Also hearing another table beside who was not with use saying the exact same thing. But I doubt this would change unless they start loosing profits sadly.
