Had my wife's send off party here. The work put in by Pete beforehand to make it the perfect day was above & beyond expectations. Food & beer was excellent and the bar staff friendly and welcoming. Book this private venue!

Local entertainment, nice friendly local pub. Just a bit disappointed cos they didn't announce the last drinks! Overall good!

Popped in for lunch with my mum, aunty and cousin. Had a really lovely meal, food all freshly cooked. Sampled a dish from the new menu, lambs liver, irish mash and spring veg, if I could give it more than 5 stars I would. Very friendly attentive staff. Easy access for my elderly mum who has problems with mobility. Will definitely be visiting again. A big thumbs up from me 👍.

Had a Sunday dinner, Beef was very undercooked and couldn't be eaten, too difficult to cut or chew, parsnips were hard, potatoes were OK and cabbage. Lady serving was nice and friendly, bit of a disappointment really

Started calling in here for a couple of beers after a walk. Nice pub, not full of young ones of their heads. Not tried the food, so I can't comment. The only bad thing is we was charged £4 for a bag of pork scratching.

Had a lovely family meal for my uncles birthday today . Staff were great and the chef was amazing, the food was spot on , piping hot and well presented. Staff that care about their customers and the needs of customers. Highly recommend dining out here. We will definitely be back. A huge thank you to all of you 😊👍🏻

The food was really nice we all enjoyed what we ordered freshly made , the staff friendly it wasn’t very busy when we were there as it was mid week. definitely go back

Really good Sunday Roast. Reminded me of my mum's home cooking. Good portion and very tasty for the reasonable price.

Held the wake for my father in law here on the 9.10.22. Tracy and her staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating. Tracy showed us around and the newly decorated lounge and the function room were great 👍 Just to say a massive thanks for all your help and patience and we will definitely use you again for functions Cheers

Just had Sunday lunch, absolutely cracking food, all well cooked, plenty of it, and you can have your Yorkshires as a first course, welcoming and friendly staff, you won't be disappointed

The place looked to be in the middle of an upgrade and at the time I visited the walls were bare and stripped. The bar staff were unable to help or advise on what food was being served or if it was available at all. The staff were friendly but everything seemed chaotic despite the low number of people there. Might be worth another visit if it is being updated

Great local Boozer called the Halfway House as it sits halfway between Leeds and Wakefield on the A61 , good atmosphere and friendly staff with plenty of space inside and out.

Went for Sunday lunch with my mum and husband, it was not nice although when I rang the guy I spoke to was nice and they seemed very friendly so that is the 1 star. The chicken was dry and the veg was practically raw, we wasn't asked how the meal was but given how much food was left on the plate he probably didn't want to ask. We had heard so many good reviews so wanted to try. We didn't complain with it not being expensive

Food was terrible. Only 2 vegetarian options. Mash potato looked like instant mash, texture was like play dough, fish pie was absolutely vile. The burger buns were stale, chicken burger tasted strange & had tartare sauce on it 🤷‍♂️ The chips were undercooked. Asked for no sauce on one of the meals, yet it came with sauce! Sorry to say but this place was a massive disappointment. None of our party will ever go back here again

Dont go very very rude if your not a local you get treated like a dog. Honestly fuming so rude I'm shocked about the service

Just went for a burger & chips with onion rings & coleslaw it was delicious waitress service & taken to a table so nicely spaced apart felt safe. Will definitely recommend & visit again.

First visit, seems to have a great atmosphere, here for private party, being well looked after.

Friendly staff only down fall no food available even though it was advertised outside that food was available from 12noon
