Been meaning to add this review for a while. Had the most delicious, well cooked and enormous Sunday Roast here a few weeks ago. The beef was cooked to perfection and was enhanced by the huge range of gorgeous fresh vegetables, Yorkshire pudding and gravy. It was all piping hot and served by such attentive, well mannered and great young man. We really can’t recommend this Sunday roast any more highly. It’s very good value for money and a very generous portion. Chef will also cater for dietary requirements and happily provided me with gluten free alternatives. Love this place and will be back on another Sunday very soon. Well done to all the staff at The Half Moon

Haven't had the pleasure of eating there yet however I was impressed by my overall experience. I stopped by for a couple of drinks at the weekend and served by a very polite/helpful lady. Before I even had a chance to take my glasses back she was at my table and kindly took them for me. The choice of drinks is impressive. The garden is the perfect place to sit in the summer and the pub itself is in a peaceful location.

Had a lovely Sunday lunxh today, 04/06/2023, with my partner, and dog. Pork and beef roast, which was huge, great value for money. Front of House could not be more accommodating, even looking after our dog. Very clean restaurant, lovely bar area and gardens. Couldn't ask for much more after a glorious walk. Can't recommend this place enough, especially the food. What a treat! Well done The Half Moon.

We went on a Sunday to the half moon. It was taken over a year ago and the new landlady was very friendly and welcoming. The food was very good - my MIL said the salmon salad was one of the tastiest she has had because it had so much variety. Roast portions were very generous. The restaurant area is good, but we went through the bar area and it let it down a bit as it smelt like smoking (nobody was smoking in there, not sure of the source).

When it does come to food, everyone has a individual pallet of course. But this December, on our way to Devon, we have had at last enough time to stop and pop in for a Sunday Roast. We have been very early at all and the staff did just about start to bring the carvery on. We have had pork and beef and I must say we encountered a raost that was absolutely delicious. Enormous qantities of brilliant prepared veggies were also on offer and suitable for a vegetarian. The beef was succulent and tender and very beautiful. The staff was very kind, warmingly welcome and informative about their preparations of the food. Thanks to all, we try to spend our next break at your place again. VERY recommandable.

Absolutely atrocious. Preordered 5 nut roasts at Christmas, they served supermarket own frozen ‘nut cutlets’ and charged £10 each meal. THere was no vegetarian gravy available, the chef ‘forgot’ to get some. The vegetables were so over cooked and mushy they wouldn’t even stay on your fork. The landlord hid in the back room because he didn’t want to manage the situation and left the elderly dinner lady to take any complaints. Charged my elderly grandmother £50 for these sad excuses for a meal, which they had plenty of time to prepare for. The environment was not clean, the light in the bathroom was intermittent and you couldn’t see properly. Just awful from start to finish.

Horrible atmosphere, no one really welcomed us! The place was cold and the waitress was rude and not just to us! As for the food, the only choices were beef or pork so we both went for beef, went it arrived, all of it was cold the beef was chewy and my gravy had massive lumps in it. Quite obvious that no one really cared. Yorkshire pubs were aunt Bessie's not homemade! We didn't get asked for sauces so I asked the waitress if I could have some apple sauce (as I hate horseradish) and she looked down her nose at me and rudely went "what with beef!!" Me and my partner couldn't believe she just said that! The most busiest day for pubs is a Sunday and there was just one other couple in there, which doesn't surprise me! Even they complained because she got served a cold coffee, the lady took it back and the same rude waitress told her she should have asked for hot milk! How about a simple hot coffee! Ropiest pub we've been too. And would tell everyone to avoid! Not even worthy of one star!

The only good thing about this pub is the clean toilets. when my wife and I visited this pub we had just arrived from Somerset and in need of food. we sat down at the table and waited for a menu to arrive after fifteen minuets one was provided from which we ordered steak and ail pie after one and a half hours it arrived, are good we thought some food! only to find that it was so awful we could not eat it, it was tough and tasteless the vegetables were equally as bad. during our time in this pub other people who had been waiting equally as long as we had started to leave, one couple had waited over an hour for a ploughman's they left having given up that it would ever arrive. not a good experience don't bother to go there drive past and do not look back.

We often visit this Greggs whilst shopping in Chichester as their sausage rolls are the best. As I don’t drink dairy milk, in the past I’ve always had soya in little cartons. My husband asked for oat milk (my favourite) and to my pleasant surprise Greggs now offer oat milk as an alternative. So my order was for an Americano with oat milk on the side. My husband also mentioned “on the side”. This is because I don’t take much so need to add it myself. So when the lady served an Americano with oat included (frothed up, yuk) (Since when does an Americano have warm frother milk in it?) I said, no I ordered oat milk on the side. Stroppy cow said she didn’t hear that (we said it twice) and that anyway they don’t serve oat milk on the side. So I’ve paid for a coffee that I can’t drink as it’s too milky. I really expected her to say “sorry madam, let me do another one for you”. I mean, for the sake of customer satisfaction, just pour it away and serve me what I’ve asked for! Is it too much to ask to have oat milk on the side? This is a first for us. Every other coffee establishment we visit serves it cold, and on the side when asked. She has no customer skills at all. A right stroppy cow. We were disgusted.

Although they’ve faced a few days of closure it doesn’t take away from the brilliance of the food they serve, food was done beautifully and the burgers cooked very well. Generous portion sizes and very very thick and tasty milkshakes I will definitely be returning. Also to note the tables and kitchen are kept quite clean and there was wasn’t much mess on the floor round the crowded tables which is a good sign the place is being looked after well.
