The Hagley Bar and Grill in Dudley

40+ booked.food pre ordered so that meals could be served together. Arrived 7.30. starter at 9.00. left at 11.00 with no sign of my main course coming. Owner should have cancelled booking as obviously no staff on the day.

Expensive for what it is and food was too spicy even for me and I like spice.... took ages for food to come.

There are many places you can go and get what you want, But there are very few where you can go and feel like hone, great food, great service but 💯 the staff allow you to be you.. family oriented?.100%

Went in at 4:15 as it states online it opens at 4. The young lad who asked if we were there for food I said yes he said the kitchen isn’t open now And swept the table with a broom. Then we said well when is it open? Can we wait “Nah I think about 7” Terrible customer service. Very disappointed

Great bar and grill to enjoy with your friends if you enjoy watching the sports! Staff are really friendly and attentive. Food was well priced and of decent quality! Great portion sizes. Only downside I would say is the size of the place. Great place to go after a night out or for a local beer.

We had a takeaway on Thursday 27th 07/23 food fantastic but we should have checked the order as the rice was missing

We decided to go here with friends, 6 in total as were highly recommended. Upon arriving we were served quickly and in a friendly manner. That literally the only positive I have as it went down hill quickly from there. Once we were ready we went to order our food at the bar, no issue with ordering which was good the restaurant was only filled with drinkers so we thought we wouldn't have to wait long for our meal, boy was we wrong. One hour went by no sign of our food even being cooked & while this was happening we decided to take advantage of purchasing another round of drinks to be told they had all but ran out of beer and only had carling left on!!! how is this possible for a not very busy Saturday evening. Zero communication from the team about our food we had to go to the bar multiply times asking how long our food will be. another half hour goes by still no food and at this point we noticed that the kitchen had only just started cooking our food at this point the time was getting around 10pm and get too late to eat. Just as we were about to leave our food decided to come out the kitchen at this point we were all to annoyed by the lack of communication and with no sight of an apology. I can see that this place had some very good review but sure my experience shouldn't happen to anyone. I really hope they take this on board and learn from our experience. With no regret in saying this, I will not be returning after this experience and wouldn't recommend to any of my friends until the Management here look at the basics and look after there paying guest and not sit and watch the team struggle.

Food was excellent , service was excellent considering the lady was on her own. Atmosphere was very nice but a bit noisy for me.

Service was great from the lad behind the bar serving the drinks and food. Ordered lamb chops and chicken tikka starters. The chops were dry with very little meat, mainly gristle and bone, the tikka piece were dry and small, basically not much there for the money. Our Karahi and Korma was just ok. I won't be going back.

One 1 person servings at the bar and doing the food orders. Food was average..

£5.70 for a pint of Carling and no BT Sport's so couldn't watch the football game. Didn't stay for food.

Very tasty and authentic punjabi food. I’m vegetarian, and their starters and mains really do hit the spot, especially their aloo tikka and vegetarian mixed grill! I’ve eaten in the restaurant a few times, and more recently had a takeaway from there, and can honestly say the standard is equally as high!

I visited on 11/2, which was my first time, and I would highly recommend to anyone that fancies trying somewhere new like I did. Food was delicious and the staff were very friendly and attentive.

We orders famous Hayley mixed grill and it’s nice and yummy for four people. The vegetable curry mix is also good and tasty with the garlic naan! Staff are friendly too and really appreciated it! Will definitely come again as we live close.

Love this place! They serve one of the best Indian mixed grills and Masala chips I've ever had. + Outstanding freshly cooked food + Wide range of food choices + Impressive bar & drinks selection + Fast, friendly service + Outdoor seating areas at front and rear (will be lovely in the Summer!) + Reasonable prices, cheaper than expected + Great atmosphere and decor Cannot recccomend this place enough. Food is OK, but Portions are very small, with the 4 person mix grill in my opinion is a large single person size, when compared to other grills.

Food and price and service was great. Obviously its still newish so the atmosphere will get there. Our table was great though. Will be back

Use to really enjoy coming here. But not the right atmosphere anymore. Left after 10 minutes. So disappointed.

AVOID: Have been many times in the past but now under new management. The meat on the hot skillet used to be chicken breast which was lovely but now its cheap chicken legs (all bone and little meat). The vegetarian skillet is now on a plain plate with cheap alternatives. Complained but they could not care less.

Lovely service by Shannon! Food wasn't 100%, salad was shriveled up and not just being under a lamp. Didn't have some of the things we wanted but the tapas deal was great and very good value!

We visited this evening as a post work treat. We didn't arrive until 9.25pm and thought we may have been cutting it close for last food orders but the staff were very welcoming and accommodating. Last food orders weren't until 9.45pm. We took advantage of the offer of a main, side and drink for £10 which is an absolute steal! Considering it is a Tuesday evening I was worried we'd have that awkward "just you and the staff" situation but there were a few people in and some good music on so there was a good atmosphere. The food we ordered came as a generous portion. Very tasty and fresh. I couldn't finish my Keema Mutter and the guy who cleared our food made sure we enjoyed our meals and that I hadn't left it because of any issues which he would have passed onto the chef if there was. All the staff were very attentive but not overbearing. The interior was lovely too. We will definitely return and recommend.

Visited here Today for the first time. The Staff were very friendly and accommodating, the Owners also took time out to speak to us, and explained they have only been running this establishment for the last 2 weeks, wow, what an achievement, the food was outstanding, and they made us feel special. Great value for money, we will definately be visiting again, and definitely recommending you to Friends and Family, keep doing what you're doing 😁 x

Waited from 7pm till 8.40 to get one dish ut of two I ordered When they realised my other dish is on someone else table they brought half eaten dish to me Absolute chaos and lack of attention To basic health and safety 2 hours to wait is bad enough but to bring a dish which on someone else's table and eaten from it is just unforgivable

Very good place. Good company, great service, awesome selection of alcohol. Mix grills are plenty and tasty. They have booths available to watch sports. Clean toilets, great customer service. Its well worth the visit.

Ive been a Restaurant Owner / Chef for over 25 yrs, cracking little venue this but could so do with a few really minor tweeks that I noticed & it would be really Great !! Spot on friendly service from the Staff front of house. V nice stylish decor could do with some material dotted around inside to soak up ambient noise, it got a bit loud & a little intrusive when filled up with customers. Food was ok, my 2 samosa starter was huge ! very tasty filling but quite thick pastry and no dip served with it so was quite dry, served with some salad leaves, the contents of one samosa split into two smaller ones would have been perfect with a simple wedge of lemon plus small dip with lighter pastry would have been far better. Curry sauce really nice & tasty, rice was good, meat needed marinating really as fairly bland but ok, nans are cut into 4 pieces & put in a bowl to save table space but they dry out, I'd ask for nan to be served whole. I noticed there was no menu on the website, took me at least 10mins of Google searching to find any kind of menu. Nearly put me off visiting but glad I persisted. Overall really nice place but would be so much better just thinking of the customer journey / experience 🙂👍

If you live in the west mids and like your desi grill please avoid, I have attached a picture of the so called veg curry to accompany the grill, its frozen veg in a sauce.

What a fantastic evening last night. Hospitality and staff were fab and food was the tastiest and freshest I have tasted in a very long time Its a cross between an Indian restaurant and bar , taking all the best bits and giving a far better atmosphere than a traditional Indian restaurant There were people just having a drink as well as eating I live in Worcester so its a bit of a drive but I will be going back very soon- definitely worth the drive

This is the second visit to the Hagley Bar & Grill Service is excellent and staff are friendly portion sizes are good and kid’s portions are huge The food on both occasions has been ok, we had curries on the first occasion and mixed grills this time. Both curries and mixed grills were average not great but not horrible. The lamb in the mixed grill was tough

Lovely place lovely food. Great little local.

A little disappointing, I've had much better mixed grills elsewhere. Fish pakora were somehow underdone but soaked in oil. Chicken and lamb meat was tough. Worst part was the curry was sat under about an inch of oil and every piece of lamb within it was gristly.

Another brilliant meal! Can't wait until you guys are back open again to dine in! Keep it up guys! 🤗

Ok, well I do not have children and I like nice wine. Well plenty of children and no good wine. I did mention this to the staff and they explained that they tried nice wine and it didn't work. All I can say is message me please. All of that aside the food was so so tasty and full of flavour. Great little place to eat and happy to return if you think about wines or charge for corkage!!!

Been this evening and had the mixed grill to share and a chicken tikka masala, absolutely everything from the nan bread to the rice was so fresh aromatic and delicious, have decided to have a monthly curry night there it’s so nice!

Our friends organised a get together this was great there were 13 of us in our party the food came out quickly and the mixed grill was very tasty would recommend this to anyone and will be going again .

We have been here several times now both with friends and with our children. The food is the best Indian food in Halesowen, you can taste the layers of flavour. There are booths and tables and also TV's on the wall that show the latest sporting fixtures or music vidoes but these do not interfere with the chat around your dining table. Lovely, friendly staff and an outside seating area for drinks, well worth a visit if you are in the area.

The food was amazing and the portions were plentiful. The atmosphere was family friendly and the staff were very attentive. Additionally, this is a great place to go for watching sports. There are several booths with separate individual TVs alongside larger TVs for communal watching. I’ve been once and would definitely recommend. Good atmosphere and a reasonably price place for the amount/quality of food served. 10/10 👍🏼

Fully enjoyed my time at The Hagley. Food was excellent, everything was made fresh and they were able to cater to dietary requirements and alterations with no trouble. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The restaurant itself was stylish and the garden was lovely for a drink. We went after lockdown and felt very safe here and I have told all of my friends and family about it. Would definitely recommend!

Visited the Hagley with a friend having had numerous family members that live local continuously recommend i must visit!I consider myself to be a well seasoned visitor of Indian restaurants and Desi pub establishments around the West Midlands (including regularly dining at most of the top Indian restaurants in the city centre) and I can safely say that the flavours and quality of the food I experienced here this evening far surpass anywhere else I have visited.What I love most about this place is that it has managed to capture a perfect mix of dining concepts. The quality and flavours of a fine dining city centre restaurant, the casual nature of a tapas bar and the warm and welcoming ambiance of a local Desi pub. Well done for creating something different for the community and focusing on the finishing touches (including serving a proper coffee)! I recommend the Lamb Rogan Josh which is by far the best curry I have ever tasted.

Came here not long after it opened, and it has been a while so we decided to give it another go.Really disappointed with this place. The whole place is very cliquey, the lads behind the bar obviously know the locals, even sitting with them at their table a few times. The bar is noisy, bright, and full of TV sets all with the same sport channel on. The food takes forever to come out, it’s not good when it gets out either – dry and tasteless, pre-cooked for the most part and reheated in the microwave.When you look at the reviews of this place there seemed to be a few close together, from people with not many other reviews.The owners of this place must think it’s so easy to run this type of place – knock up a bar with some TV’s and a few Indian grill items, and the plebs will come in droves.

Having read some of the reviews it sounded worthwhile giving it a go.I phoned to see if needed to reserve a table as it was a saturday night,i was told it wasnt neccessary so i said we would be there around 7. Upon arriving i thought how quiet it was,there was a couple already eating and a family already there with two children. We looked at menu and decided, then had to go to bar and order even though there were at least three waitresses there and not very busy. So its a little bit like a pub where you have to go up and order but pay later and a little bit like an indian restaurant with tvs around and an awful lot of cctv cameras,more than ten!, which i thought a bit strange,maybe they are worried the customers might steal the tvs?We ordered and thought it was on the pricey side,so expected something special also ordered a bottle of wine, white pinot, didnt have rose,£20 a bottle!Even though it was still quiet and no one else had come in at this time,we had quite a long wait for the starters,we didnt order popadoms which was a good thing as we wouldve been there even longer. I ordered chicken tikka starter, it didnt come out with any sauces like yoghurt and mint etc,which is the norm,i couldve asked but by this time i just wanted to eat something. It looked presentable, however it was dissapointingly dry and over spiced and even with any sauce would still have been dry, any asian restaurant around halesowen that serves chicken tikka serves it tender and moist,this wasnt it, my wife had onion bhaji and said it was very spicy and crunchy dry,a lot spicier than normal and the starters didnt even come out together.We had our mains which were average,served in a balti dish,along with a plate to pour it onto which was cold,the chicken was dry again and over spiced,my wife is vegetarian so didnt have meat but said it was too spicy for her and didnt finish it.So the bill came to over £50 plus £10 for the taxi, quite expensive overall for a curry in halesowen,just over £30 with no drink,but i dont know what the beer prices are like.A week later we went to a very up market asian restaurant in birmingham center just off colmore row as a birthday treat, that meal with wine[17.95] cost £100,of that , my main meal which was lobster and king prawn curry served in the shell was £40. so if i;d had something less extravagant the total cost wouldve been more like £75 and their prices are on the high side, we caught the bus both ways so didnt have taxi costs,so not a great deal of difference in price,wine was cheaper,but a world of difference in taste. Maybe it was a different chef at the Bar and Grill,but we had a long wait and it wasnt busy and we wernt impressed with the food so wont rush to go back, the waitresses were very friendly and pleasant,but overall we just found it dissapointing, which is a shame, but this is just our opinion,some people like spicier food and maybe you will have to try it for yourselves? But with a wealth of good asian restaurants around halesowen,where you can take your own drinks with you the Bar and Grill definately needs to step up to keep up with the competition.

Simply amazing. Food was delicious, genuinely the best Indian grill bar I have been to in the Birmingham area! Extremely accomadating - full of families and groups of friends enjoying authentic Indian cuisine. Absolutely on point. If you are looking to taste some yummy food then look no further.

Was looking foward to this restaurant opening for two years before it actually did as it's a stones throw away from us and we weren't disappointed ! Have visited on a number of occasions now and is always good. The mixed grill and veggie grill are fab as are the rest of the choices. Nice to see a modern indian restaurant and the booths are a nice touch. Staff are always warm and friendly. They seem to be slowly introducing items to the menu (Tapas Tuesday) so I'm looking forward to them adding breakfast parathas - pleeeaassee !

This place is definitely the best place for a mix grill in Birmingham. Ive become a regular, great place to come and watch the football with a great family vibe. Staff are very polite and are always on hand. Curry’s are brilliant full of flavour and great with a garlic naan. Can’t wait for tomorrow. Thanks Guys

Had high hopes for this place but was massively let down. Curry was tasteless and had the texture of toothpaste, Luke warm, mixed grill was vile. Heavily processed lamb kebabs, soggy chicken wings. Compared to other local bar and grills this is bottom of the pile. Expensive compared to its competitors, would not return

Love the food and the atmosphere. Always feel relaxed and comfortable here. Curries are gorgeous. Me favourite place to eat on Halesowen.

I love this place. Come here all the time with family and friends. Food is always delicious and it never takes too long to be served. The tapas Tuesdays are excellent value and are a great way to try lots of different things on the menu. There is always a great crowd and the staff are super friendly and accommodating. Would reccomend to everyone!

Small bar with TV screens. Ideal if you want to watch football. The food is really good and not too expensive Mostly Indian food with a couple of English dishes.

Ate here yesterday for first time. The restaurant was clean and modern. Staff very friendly and accommodating and the food was outstanding. Good price too considering the quality. I'm not local I was meeting a friend but will definately be making the effort to visit again.

I visited here 1 week ago for a dinner out with friends. The menu has everything you need, tasty and large portions. The host was very friendly and loved the atmosphere..great for my husband as he loves to watch sports too. Definitely going back!

Popped in here for a couple of drinks last night with my boyfriend. The smell of the food was amazing and when we saw it being brought out it looked so good we decided to book a table later for dinner.

Ordered pie and chips. Small serving, pie was at fridge temperature chips were oven chips. All in all rubbish.

Deceptive from the outside, I foolishly thought it was a bar and burger place. Whilst enjoying my beer up at the crafty pint a neighbour sang The Hagley’s praises and suggested we try.

Good food , staff friendly, varied menu, you can buy draft beer / wine/ spirits, coffee soft drink ,water, and the food's GREAT. I had Rogan Josh Husband had Jalfrezi , all with rice, masala chips (smashing) reconmended ,We have been there once before , yes we will go again soon.

After a few pints at The Crafty Pint, we ventured down to try this new place out.
