The Gynn Pub and Restaurant in Blackpool

Just been to the gynn after many years and I'm happy to say what a great improvement. We had a really nice meal and where looked after by the staff. Will be going back soon.

Two of us on Sunday afternoon. Separate dining room which I like with table cloths. Waiter/waitress service. Sunday Lunch £10.49 plenty of it well worth having. Chicken Curry the other meal bit of a skinny portion but apparently good. Service good and it's all table service. Overall price good. The real ale was sketchy, tried two different ones both Thwaites.

Great food, a quiet place to eat really good food. Found that the few times I've been tho and dealt with staff at the bar, they have been very abrupt, and the lady today felt rude, and even the guy that was next to me mentioned that she was rude. There was a guy that is built who I think is the owner. He was pleasant to deal with. Good place, nice food. Definitely go if you want a good meal.

Wow what a gem ,we have just moved to the area so this is our nearest pub , I went in on my own to wait for my husband very brave of me out of my comfort zone as new to area, but the staff are very welcoming and friendly felt welcome . Decided to eat all I can say people of Blackpool I don't understand why this place is not packed the quality of the food is something else I'm a foodie and to be honest I thought ohh it will be typical pub grub you know the kind that is in partnership with the microwave, I could not have been more wrong , take my hat of to the chef those ribs were the best ive ever eaten , and to the staff credit to the landlords . Ps see you very soon.

The bar service was great, friendly and helpful. It was just confusing that my order of nachos took 45 minutes (I'm a chef btw) and customers who ordered mor complex order who had their order taken after me were all served before me. It's rather odd. Whoever is in the kitchen doesn't understand how to manage orders or prepare a dish that takes literally 3 minutes.

A great pub, good food, friendly service and great value.

Always a lovely welcome...Great food...warm and cozy

Called in here for food after travelling to Blackpool for the weekend. The menu had quite a few options to choose from. My daughter and I went for a jacket potato with cheese and beans and a regular cheese burger and chips. I also ordered a side of cheesy garlic bread (her favourite) and 2 large pepsi's. The food was piping hot and excellent sized portions. In fact the garlic bread turned out to be the size of a pizza which surprised us! The garlic bread and jacket potato were really tasty, the burger was ok but not the best quality. The place itself could do with a bit of a refurb and the tables were sticky which was a little off putting. However the staff were really friendly and helpful. I wouldn't recommend to family or friends or rush back unfortunately.

First visit after passing loads of times on the tram. Lovely Thwaites IPA. Staff helpful and friendly. Good food selection. Didn’t eat on this visit but certainly will on my next trip to Blackpool.

We had a lovely meal here. Was served by a very pleasant young lady who took our order. All 4 of us enjoyed our meal. Would definitely go back

The food is amazing especially the Sunday lunch and the cheese burger what was huge and delicious and the kids loved their food as well and fairly priced what can be a rare thing in Blackpool lol. The only down side you could wait a little while for your food when it's busy. The staff were fantastic and family friendly.

We popped in for our tea last night. Ian had the mixed grill and I had fish and chips. They were both lovely. Then we both had a pudding which was homemade and they were lovely too. We are both farmers so we do like tasty food , and we shall be definitely going back to The Gynn on our next visit to Blackpool. What more do you need good food a fair price, and made to feel welcome by all.

We wanted a roast dinner and weren't expecting too much but to be honest, a friendly welcome with a choice of a more restaurant experience or pub choice. We went for the restaurant experience and the service was very good and so was the roast beef dinner for a good price!

Lovely food, exceptional service, managing a booked Birthday meal with a Halloween party is never easy... couldn't fault at all. Brought the Birthday cake out... and couldn't do enough! A huge credit to Blackpool. Cheers guys. x

We went for an evening meal was really nice staff were very friendly nothing was too much troubleif we needed anything My other half had chicken melt said it was nice

Food is priced well and cooked to order. Notable highlights we had amongst our party were the lamb shank, gammon steak and steak. All cooked to perfection and full of flavour. Our son loved the chocolate fudge cake! Staff are delightful and a credit to their profession. Bad point would be some of the decor is in need of a refresh and tiled floor leading to toilets is greasy/slippery. But all in all great. We liked it so much the first time we went back the next night.

Staff and food were great! Service was quick and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble especially when accommodating to food allergies and intolerance.

Went in to get warm and wait for lights to come on.

A few of us called in for a drink and something to eat it was spot on, great atmosphere, will call in again in the future.

Glad I did not have food after looking at what a chap in there had left on his plate, disgraceful. I had a couple of Coors in there at lunchtime.

In need of a face lift & upgrade. Tasty food though.

Had the Sunday roast not as good as usual roast potatoes still hard but all other meals where OK could of been more chilli in a bigger bowl it looked more for a child than an adult

Not frequent visitors to Blackpool but spotted the Gynn on our way along prom. Easy parking, very spacious pub. Was quiet , member of staff welcoming. Typical pub fayre but served quickly and hot. Tasty and good portion and value

Good central place,table pool if required, music not to loud, good value. plenty of seating, beer garden, Gyn tram stop.

Seemed a little quiet when we came in afternoon but livened in the evening.

Pub looks nice inside. Normal prices although expensive for Blackpool. Looks to be a nice beer garden but nearly all the tables are rotting away. To say it’s a Thwaites pub the area supervisor doesn’t care the beer garden tables are rotting away

Lovely pub food! Went above and beyond for us! We had a family of 9 so it’s quite difficult to get everything spot on and also very hot and delicious all at the same time but everything was superb. We called before just in case we needed to book a table, they said it’s fine to just show up but they were thankful for letting them know a table of 9 would be showing up so they could get a table ready. All food was spot on! We didn’t expect the hot dog to be a sausage in a bun which was a nice surprise, sadly we had a little one with us who doesn’t like sausage so we asked if there’s any way to change this to chicken nuggets, they were more than happy to change this with no extra charge which was lovely! The girl who served us seemed very young and a little nervous serving such a large table but she tried her hardest with each of us individually and she did very well to say the least! They accidentally gave us an extra drink but the girl was very pleasant when taking this away and seemed to giggle a bit which made us very comfortable and at ease in this pub. When we went to pay there was a woman who sorted out the bill for us and she made us feel very happy calling my partner “love” we really appreciated this! Didn’t expect any more or any less from this pub! Loved it!

Fantastic service from the young girl that served us. There was 9 of us and it wasn’t too busy and she took all of our orders and did a fantastic job. Very impressive for the amount of people that were there and we got served almost straight away as well. Brilliant. Our food arrived within a few mins and it was so delicious. Can’t complain honestly. Wanted to return for some breakfast but sadly they weren’t open! But that’s absolutely fine. Definitely will be paying a visit once we return to Blackpool first thing we do! Please try this pub out for some very decent grub! Promise you won’t leave disappointed! All things considered this pub is run very well with wonderful friendly staff. Even left a message on the paper napkins on our table. “The Gynn pub & restaurant ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, thank you for your service!”

Had a few meals there when on holiday last week absolutely beautiful everyone of them

Meal and service was great however we did eat early. Cant say what its like when busy but there is a seperate area for families and children.

Although a busy Sunday evening, I think that almost an hour wait for our food was unacceptable. Staff were attentive and apologetic though and the food, when it finally arrived, was hot and tasty and very good value.

A quiet afternoon with colleagues. A good meeting place. Food looks good but I didn't eat.

I really wanted to like the food here as the staff are just lovely but unfortunately they are let down by average to below average food. Wetherspoons knocks spots off it for food quality and half of theirs is microwaved! House curry was bland and came with no nan bread. A request for chutney was impossible as there was nothing of the sort in the building! The pecan pie was acceptable though it looked like a cheap Iceland frozen one. It was only 10 quid for both courses so for a cheap refuel it did the trick but if you want actual decent food that you can sit and enjoy, I'd go elsewhere. Obviously I only had one dish so the others may well be fabulous, I have no idea. Still love the staff, though it is Blackpool and Lancashire folk are among the best you'll ever meet.

First time visiting while in Blackpool for a weekend holiday,first of all the gentleman behind the bar struggled to understand what 2 diet cokes were ,still forgot my normal coke.had zero knowledge of the menu as I asked for the be ribs and chicken (main) comes with salad and chips,he said is that for 1 and I said it’s the main meal ,we re asked him if he ordered the correct food to which his reply was yes iv done the correct one.food came out and it wasn’t it was the starter which comes without chips and was chicken wings .even the lady who I’m guessing is the manager said yes that’s correct yet she was also wrong.the Childrens burger was so dry and hard.no customer service ,no allergy’s were asked upon ordering food from a food background myself is law to be asked to every customer.no check up after food had been delivered .wont be returning again . Pub is very under clean tables sticky ,floor carpet smells bad If I was on duty as a eho officer I would have shut you down straight away . Had the surf and turf was really nice steak very well done! medium delivered and very enjoyable, lovely staff couldn't do enough! Amazing will be back again thanks guys for a lovely meal

Went here for the last few days the food is good here

The mac n cheese wasnt great, a bit too greasy and sadly this obliterated all the flavour. The chunky chips were good and my daughter loved her chicken nuggets and fries so maybe I was just unlucky. The staff were lovely though and thats always a bonus

It looks a bit rough but food was nice and lots of toilets. Lovely staff and dog friendly

Thought I'd give this place a try the food was sound carvery was well nice, nice big portions to the stake was ok but it had like a taste of sausages maybe it was cooked on the same grill right after. All in all nice food great service with a sound atmosphere.

Terrible service very bad place never coming here again a family waited over an hr for their food which came out staggered. Over an hr wait for a ploughman's. Asked for more bread which had to pay extra.. Seemed such a chore for them to deliver.

I been wanting to visit The Gynn for years it's such a prominent pub. Having read all the excellent reviews on food, finally this week we got here. The pub was fine, the was food great! A really enjoyable meal, well cooked and well presented. Good value. Nice atmosphere with attentive staff, friendly locals. Recommended.

We didn't eat here although the menu looked good. This was a stop off on the way back to our B&B

We can down from glasgow on our first visit to Blackpool. Visited the gynn...We ordered 2 pizzas, a kids hot dog and chips. A beer, wine and appletizer. Pizzas are homemade and were some of the best pizzas we ever had. Setvice is 10/10. Staff very very helpful and helpful. The price was very reasonable for what we had. Would advise all people in area to visit. First class!!!

I've been going here for 60 years on and off love it

Good local family pub. Food ok, reasonable price. Children menu mostly only £3.50. Not greasy. Good value for what you are paying. Good variety of pub food. Did not wait too long for food. Full bill £63 with drinks for 4 adult meals, 2 Children meals and all had drinks.

No food at 7pm on Sunday. I bet this changes in a week when it's bank holiday. Ran out of beer as well. Kids unruly in the family area. Staff Ill trained and took young to care. What more do you want? I suppose if you're local you get the best treatment. Never again for me!

Nice local and visitors bar 1 minute from Blackpool beach and promenade,has open view windows onto part of the promendade we didn't tey the food bit the menu is gracious and not to pricey for the town.Drinks are varied and plenty to choose from we had pint bitter a bitter shandy bottle of wkd 1 fruit cider and double pink gin and. came to just short of 20.00, bar staff and manageress were helpful and cheerful and made everyone feel welcome there's a games area which has a pool table a space invader game a punch bag( we were rubbish) and some small rides for children .The pub has a smoking area and a massive outside beer garden ideal for warm summer eveningsonly downside closes through the week so when on a late at work can't pop in for nightcap lol..10/10 though 😀

Good food nice atmosphere and good service plus very reasonable price

Popped in for breakfast at 11am and we weren't disappointed. 2 full breakfasts and 2 Bacon and Cheese burgers dented the hunger pains and we left totally satisfied. Service was excellent and the food was beautiful. Will certainly visit here again.

A decent alternative to the Savoy hotel

Quieter than many promside pubs but the 'regulars' don't seem to like visitors much. Shame since you live in a holiday resort

Ordered food. Incorrect drinks looked horrifying definitely not drinkable they try saying it was the bottom of the keg for the Pepsi And when I got food the food was all wrong And different menu of from what I ordered. Looked like a cat was sick on a plate And it was left a week and a half before serving without lying when I said something about the order of the food to get it replaced they didn't want to replace it and then they spoke behind behind are backs really loud And made everyone feel uncomfortable just because they can't cook food properly and do what you order unfortunately, it's like talking to infants want qualified to run anything especially a daycare center not alone in the kitchen stuff was very rude and impolite unfortunately was expecting better service. I'm not a fussy eater but that was definitely in another level find probably in a zombie apocalypse in a cat food tin from the old quick save cheap tin range And then when we finally finished we asked for the bill and they overcharged us. When we asked about it they didn't want to know and said it was right because they tried charging us for replacing the drinks. What was garbage really could deal with New Management and correct training. Definitely not The rating I wanted to give them because I would give them ( 0 ) not one star because they don't deserve it very disappointed what a waste of money 😡😡😡😡😤 think I would rather go to Tesco's and get a microwave meal because that's least I know what's in it horse meat 🥓 anyway, hope people save that money and don't go here what a waste of time And we even got swore at by staff 😡😡😡😡 thanks for reading this

Had such a warm welcome here,went with our pup Stardust, such a relaxed friendly atmosphere.I had the cheese and bacon burger and chips,absolutely delicious would definitely recommend this place ,the customer service is exceptional,just wish we had a pub like this in Hull!

Unassuming from the outside but inside you will find a really friendly and welcoming pub. The staff are excellent, the food delicious and well priced. A good wine selection if you do decide to eat at the pub.

The place is very big .. lots of room and plenty of tables.. the starters and main where excellent.. I would eat here again. And price was reasonable

Had a few days away in blackpool. This is our go to pub for a couple of drinks with the dog. Friendly staff and comfy and relaxing atmosphere. Always enjoy popping in there when in Blackpool.

It's just one of them pubs nothing wrong with it but nothing right. It is my least favourite part of Blackpool

It was really quiet when we were in but I can imagine that it is a very popular place to go in the evening. We never had anything to eat as we only stopped for a quick refreshment.
