The pub is lovely. Vegetarian food was equisite, unfortunately the roast lamb was to ugh. Desserts were very slow being served and hot fudge cake not so hot and ice cream not smooth quite icy. Disappointing as Vegetarian was great!

We stayed 1 night. The staff were really friendly, the rooms were immaculate and the nicest Breakfast. The food menu looked lovely but we unfortunately didn't eat because the weather was awful on the drive down and took much longer than planned. We went to watch the Rugby. The pub is located on the outskirts of Cardiff with easy access to the Principality stadium.

A warm welcome awaits a visit to this Inn. Clean comfortable rooms with good food. Friendly staff and an appreciation of customer service. Close to M4 junction but in a quiet village setting. Will definitely use again when next in Cardiff. A hidden gem

The Gwaelod Inn, we were very lucky to attend our best friends Wedding nuptials here. The staff were extremely professional and friendly. The service was fantastic and the food was to die for. We stayed in a king double room with en-suite. It was spotless, bed was extremely comfortable and had plenty of water and fresh milk in fridge provided. Decor Original and a little quirky ( loved the room key !) The Gwealod Inn definitely on brand with slate tea & coffee board. We loved it and would highly recommend the food venue and service. Thank you to Sam, Rob and staff for making our stay so special ❤️

Lovely family meal, beautiful food, good service although it was a little chaotic at times, hence the loss of a star. However we will go again.

Staid in the B&B for 2 nights in July and spent both evenings in the pub. Food is amazing. Great selection of drinks. Spacious room. Excellent breakfast. It's really difficult to find a fault. Yes, there are cheaper places, but this inn is worth the premium.

Bar staff lovely and very attentive. Food would have been lovely. I was unaware that there was a car park at the rear of the pub and parked in the narrow lane outside ensuring there was sufficient room for people to pass. Indeed I sat in my car to watch 3 cars passing me without problem not even having to slow down. I also pulled in my wing mirror. My food was served and as I was getting up to get condiments when the owner asked if anyone had a car like mine. I said yes he then advised me that the neighbours and villagers were complaining about my parking. I said I had parked as close to the wall as I could as I needed to get out. He said you could have turned around and parked the opposite way. I apologised and asked if there was a car park. He advised me that there was and that there was space in it. I immediately moved my car but the process took approximately 10 mins. My partner was concerned by the length of time I was taking and left his own meal to come and see if I was OK bringing all my belongings with him which was obviously seen by everyone. When I got back to my seat I was left to enjoy a cold meal eating on my own. The owner didn't even come and speak to me or offer to keep my meal warm or re heat it. I was left feeling like a naughty school child eating a cold meal! Surely this could have been handled better? It spoilt what would have been a lovely time at this lovely old country pub. Obviously they do so well it didn't matter to him how I was treated.

1st visit to this lovely establishment. The place was very busy as this was one of the first nice days of the year. We were shown directly to our table where water was brought immediately (without us having to ask). Orders were taken promptly and, despite how busy the whole place was, our meals were served without any additional wait time! My partner had scallops and tourndos rossini and I had gluten free rack of lamb. What can I say!! Everything was absolutely delicious. The only down side was we were so full did not have room for a dessert!! All of the staff were very friendly and attentive and always had time to have a few words. The gluten free choices were very good (unlike many other restaurants) and I'm told the tourndos rossini was amazing and very moorish while the beer selection was really good but unfortunately we could not sample much due to the drive home! I try to take a few photos to share but as the food was so good, I was too busy eating to take any on this occasion. Hopefully next time, as we will definitely be back

One of the best Sunday roasts we have had in a very long time! The Glamorgan sausages were out of this world, and the veg and sides were all delicious. Staff were so lovely and helpful with my elderly nan and the place is great with allergies and dog friendly! We also had their bread basket with butter, which is a must for a me, and a very tasty pudding after. Full mark's from all 4 of us! Attended last Sunday. Can't wait to go back.

How does this place not have a Michelin star? Starters: wild cochles with garlic and laver bread, scallops, and fritta Misto Mains: pan fried duck (special) and Hake Deserts: chocolate fudge cake, Penderyn tart The food and atmosphere and service as immaculate, I left feeling really satisfied full and with happy tastebuds. Nothing like typical gastropubs. Appropriate portions and fantastic taste
