The Gun in Hackney

Great pub with a terrific restaurant upstairs. Every dish was good. Delicious noodles. Wantons, spicy cauliflower, miso pork salad, steak.

This is a wonderful pub in south Hackney on probably the most eclectic road in London. Sounds like a Heineken ad. No Heineken but Camden hells. It’s a lovely cool place to hang out. DJs weekend evenings. Nice slice of life.

Bit overpriced for what we got (tiny chicory dish and some other bits) but food was tasty and lovely atmosphere with good music downstairs

Me encantó este pub. No puedo creer que no hayamos estado allí antes. Hemos vivido en el área desde marzo y anoche fue nuestra visita a la calle. En este momento tienen un restaurante coreano emergente y la comida era increíblemente buena. Cada plato estaba delicioso. No puedo esperar para volver y probar el resto de los platos del menú. El pub también es muy bueno. Luces bajas, velas rojas en las mesas, excelente música, personal rápido y muy amable.

Fully booked but we got there early around noon and sweet talked a table. Spoke to the chef and as the beef had been pre allocated for the reserved tables we were more than happy with the Yorkshire farmed chicken. Talking of which the chef also promised us his freshly in the oven Yorkshire puds. And they were amazing as was the rest of the ingredients. A hint of garlic on the roast spuds. Perfectly cooked veg oh and the best flavoursome gravy topped off the meal. Pinot Noire was light enough for the chicken . Sunday is synonymous with bloody Marys and the Guns was delicious with horseradish which pepped it up nicely. Booking is a must. Music great and the staff friendly and accommodating. Will definitely go back. Oh nearly forgot to mention the apple crumble with bourbon and ice cream. One portion, 3 spoons and that ended the meal perfectly. Truly scrumptious.

Nice and cozy in winter with atypical tunes compared to most places. Quieter upstairs area and a fantastic rooftop for summer.

Loved this place. Barman is a great laugh and definitely knows his stuff. Never thought a Gin&Tonic could taste that good. Kudos!!! I'll be back to try the food!

Great pub with great atmosphere and a lovely terrace, Nick and the crew behind the bar really friendly and a Sunday roast to die for, good choice of beer and music too!!!

Made to feel like a local on every visit, such a lovely pub, nothing better in east London! I don't live close but will always travel for this place, staff are so friendly and always a good set of beers. Oh also the Bloody Mary is excellent!!

Loved this little pub on Wells Street, it's intimate with great beers and god food. Perfect place to stop for a drink and some music.

This is a lovely little pub with great brunch! Spent a few hours soaking up the sun on the terrace with a yummy meal. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Will be back!

What can I say. Called in on spec with my son, after a long day at The Bike Shed Show. Food was extraordinarily good, varied menu of tapas sized portions. All the food was delicious that we ordered, the beetroot salad stood out for me, along with the lamb cutlets. Lemon curd eaton mess was devine. They even had local beer from my part of Cheshire. 5 stars, thoroughly recommend it

The pub is really unassuming, but that food is absolutely knock-out. They've just got a new chef who and everything we ate was surprisingly amazing (probably such a surprise as you expect normal pub grub or even less than?). There were cauliflower wings with blue cheese sauce that were super interesting & rival Berber & Q's cauliflower dish. I'm coming back!

This is a great little pub with good food and good beer. Food us limited tapas style but tasty and good value. Nick is a great host and music was fantastic. Will definitely go again and so should you.
