Imperdibile

I understand that Borough Market has a myriad of treats but my favorite among them is a sandwich from The Guildable Manor. The sausages are flavorful, and biting into one proves they have the snap of my favorite hot dogs back at home in Chicago (where we know a thing or two about good sausages #RIP Hot Dougs).

After living in London for the past month I have come to the conclusion that eating at markets (street food) is the way to go. The street food in London is incredible and it usually a great value for what you get. This is by far the BEST meal I have had in london. I had the lamb and added the Halloumi with a few of their sauces. It was incredible and I will definitely go back for lunch in the future.

Sauces as well, could do a lil bit of "upgrading" Those you have small mouths go somewhere else cause it'll be messy :) Over all a good 3.5

This place is under Borough Bridge but it was difficult to find, it is next to Café Brood and on the same side as the church (don’t know the name). We ordered the lamb specialty baguette (fresh mint, coriander, smoked paprika, and cumin) and the Game specialty baguette (venison, wild boar, red wine, fresh apricots). There is a market place here that sells tons of fresh produce and various types of organic meats, basically a farmer’s market. We were happy and satisfied with our baguettes. The meats had TONS of flavor and we added salsa verde sauce to our baguettes. The meats were moist, not dry and the baguette was not stale. The staff was friendly and we thought the price was reasonable. I would make the suggestion to use a smaller baguette because the ratio between bread and meat is off. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and would come here again. It is some excellent flavorful street food.

Admittedly, we were hungry after a full morning of sightseeing and a walk to find the market, but it was worth the hike. We weren't sure what we wanted to eat, but went with the locals know best approach. We queued up with at least 15 other people to wait for the baquette sandwiches made by Guildable Manor. I had decided on the chicken with lemon and garlic with a house made lemon, garlic aioli. We chatted up the gentleman behind us and were encouraged to go for the lamb instead. We were glad we did. The lamb is made with fresh mint, coriander, cumin, and smoked paprika. It is grilled, and served on a fresh baquette roll with sweet red onions, salad, and your choice of toppings. We went with the harrisa and salsa verde. Sweet and spicy. My mouth is watering as I type this- it was sooooo good, although it was surely helped by the atmosphere- in the shadow of Southwark Cathedral on a beautiful day in London.

We went there 2 weeks ago, after having read all the positive reviews and we have been really disappointed. Sandwiches are basic: the bread is unheated, and stuffing is not remarkable. You can find the same sandwich anywhere else. It's not bad, but nothing special. I will not go there on purpose again: there is so much other good looking food in the market that I'll rather try something else. However, the guys are really nice!

I stumbled across The Guildable Manor with a friend in Fall 2011 while looking for somewhere in Borough Market to eat. The queue was a bit long, but we figured that must mean the food was good. It was amazing! I had the lamb with added halloumi cheese and it was just such fantastic food. I went back to London this weekend with my boyfriend and searched long and hard telling him I had this amazing sandwich and we had to find this place. Found it, and it didn't disappoint. Not only is the food great but the service both times was so pleasant. The chefs are always friendly and it really adds to the experience. If in London, definitely grab a sandwich here!!

This place is legit. The best part is the variety of sauces that they let you ladle over your sandwich. Their grill is stationed in the open air at a nice little market just across from a small church. The line is almost always about 10 minutes long and people post up in the church courtyard to polish off their sandwiches. I had the lamb which was very satisfying. My friend had the British Beef with Jalapenos and loved it. It's a perfect quick pit stop for when you have worked up an appetite touring the London charms. As far as street vendors go, you'll be hard pressed to find anything better in London or anywhere.

Tucked away on the edge of the Borough Market, The Guildable Manor is a tasty place for a sandwich if you are in the area. They have several options, but being a stall-type operation, it's not a hugely extensive menu. That said, what they do have is very good. With the exception of the chicken, which appeared to feature chopped grilled chicken chunks, the other options are kabob-style tubes of meat grilled and slapped into a baguette. You have a choice of sauces to add, the harrissa was good, and the salsa verde was excellent. We had those on the lamb with mint, coriander, paprika, and cumin, and it was delicious. The meat was tender and juicy, and packed with flavor, and generally excellent. If I had been in London for more than a weekend I would absolutely have gone back again to try the game or beef. I just wish there was a place like this near me...

Terrible experience! I work nearby and used to go with coworkers. Their Sunday Roast is excellent so I made a reservation to go with friends on Sunday 22nd September. They offered me two slots at 3:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. I chose 15.30 and it was confirmed by Sonata. When the day arrived I called early in the morning to let them know if we could postpone it to 4:30 pm because my friend was late, they told me it was no problem. Our surprise was that when we arrived at the place they told us that they did not have our reservation, despite having a written confirmation, and that the kitchen was closed (even though you could see the plates of food coming out of the kitchen to the tables) and that this Sunday was its last day open. If they close the kitchen at 4.30pm, how can they offer us to eat at 5pm? A whole bunch of lies...they left us stranded and didn't bother to offer an apology. The bar staff was the most unhelpful. We had to leave the places without eating and the whole experience was a great disappointment. I will never set foot in this place again... And I absolutely do not recommend it to anyone. They don't value clients!
