Staff are always friendly and respectful. I always go for the homity pie or quiche but this time I tried the new sticky chicken wings. Small portion but it was great

This little bistro is one of Stafford's hidden gems tucked away at the side of St Mary's Church. The staff are wonderful and very friendly. Children are always welcome and it is our Grandchildren's (11 & 13) favourite place to have lunch in Stafford. It is not a large menu as everything is fresh and made to order, no bought in boil in the bag ready meals here. It is an independent family run establishment and this is reflected in the care taken over the preparation of the food and their tremendous customer focus. For those of you old enough to remember the TV programme Cheers you just have to imagine a small restaurant instead of a bar and after a few visits you will become part of the French & Byrne family. Please note the toilets are upstairs.

A great bistro style restaurant , with great food, I had the bacon,cranberry and brie ciabatta my wife had the chicken and bacon club sandwich both of which were delicious, it makes a very pleasant change to served by a very happy and attentive waitress, we will definitely visit again

I’ve only been here once before and it was lovely, so I suggested that my friend and I go for breakfast on another occasion. When I arrived I was a bit early, so for 10-15 minutes I was sat on my own, I ordered myself a coffee which came promptly and was lovely. 5 minutes later I asked the waitress if I can order a coffee for my friend as she was only round the corner. When I asked the waitress for this coffee, her response was “is your friend definitely coming? She hasn’t cancelled on you?” I was a bit shocked because it’s not really any of her concern, and I wouldn’t be ordering a drink for her if she had cancelled. The food came, no faults with the food, however I had left a little bit on the plate simply because I was full, the same waitress came over and asked “why haven’t you finished your food?” with her arms folded!! I just thought this was so rude!! It doesn’t matter if I ate none of it, the fact is I’m paying for it and I will eat of it what I like! It’s a shame as this place definitely has potential, but unfortunately this experience was not nice.

So pleased to have found this restaurant. The food was all home made and absolutely amazing as was the hospitality and service. If I lived around here I would definitely return regularly but sadly we're off back to Essex tomorrow. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

French and Byrne is an unpretentious small café-style restaurant, accessible through an alleyway. It has a number of interesting items on the menu, with vegetarian choices. We particularly enjoyed the homily pie. The restaurant is licensed, including alcohol-free beer. We had a pleasant lunch there, and will certainly visit it again when we are next in Stafford.

First time visit to F&B and was not disappointed. The place was busy but we were seated quickly and made to feel very welcome. Offered a drink quickly and ordered soon after. Had a couple of beers, and others had wine as well as hot drinks, milk shakes and soft drinks. My husband had chicken burger and chips and said it was lovely, I had the quiche which was gorgeous. Husband then had a delicious Bakewell tart with a cappuccino, which was the best he had had for quite some time. Would definitely recommend and will return.

Lovely little cafe has always been really friendly, welcoming and decent value for the quality of food. However, it now feels a bit of a shift has happened and profit margins are now more of a priority than value for money for the customer. On this particular occasion I ordered a jacket potato which cost £9.60… I couldn’t believe how small the potato was that arrived at my table with a little bit of salad …. I immediately thought I can get a bag of 4 spuds from Aldi for 70p, tin of beans 90p what am I doing! Sorry but very disappointed

What a great find for a modern brunch! There was a queue when we arrive but we only had to wait about 5 minutes. We were shown to a lovely window table and looked after by our wonderful waitress Izzy. A very warm and friendly welcome, great food and great coffee!

Best Breakfast!!! Amazing breakfast. Thick bacon, good quality sausages and nice butter. Not greasy at all. Really good breakfast very quick service and really nice staff. We arrived on foot in a rainstorm. There was an awning & porch outside and a sign on the door saying we should wait to be greeted. I could see at least two vacant tables downstairs so because it was raining very heavily and we were getting wet, I stepped inside. I was told to wait outside, so I obeyed. Three staff could see us, no one came to greet us, so we left.

A wonderful atmosphere as soon as you walk through the door, menus is sufficient for everyone’s taste, and the food not only presented lovely, tasted as good as it looked. The staff are also amazing making everyone feel welcome and special, will definitely be visiting again very soon.

I had time to kill and saw their A board advertising an " independent "eatery, so they got the thumbs up straight away. I wasn't disappointed. Without the A board, however, I wouldn't have found them as it's off the main street.It was pleasant enough inside but with lovely weather and a super setting by the church amidst greenery and leafy trees the outside tables were a bonus, together with attentive pleasant and fast waiter service. The full English breakfast was lovely. Everything was tasty from the thick cut bacon to the Cumberland sausage, and it wasn't in any way greasy. I didn't want marmalade with the toast and was offered a range of jams, which arrived as a mini individual jam jar. Their Earl Grey tea is of a good quality too, and I overheard another customer complimenting the coffee. A very pleasant morning, and an independent eatery well worth a few meters diversion off the high street

What a beautiful place to eat. The setting is lovely, very clean and welcoming. The staff are so friendly and the food is delicious. I had the brie and bacon ciabatta and it was heavenly. My husband had the homity pie and really enjoyed it. Definitely recommend this place and we are already looking forward to our next visit.

There is always a go-to place for a favourite dish and the Grove Coffee House is such a place for a BLT. Crusty bagette, lettuce & tomato and lovely bacon. The staff are courteous and pleasant and the service is good.
