Walked it after a long day at work, they did an excellent pint of Bass, of which I had 2 pints. Some local people we got talking too were very friendly, will definitely be going in again.

Lovely pub with attentive stuff. Pie of the day (Steak Ale) was delicious with fresh vegs. The Green Man Beer was good. Dog friendly pub.

No food as advertised on signage. Next to no atmosphere. Everyone starred at us when we walked in. Only went because it was 5 minutes from the campsite but definitely stay away unless you're a local. Would rate 0 stars if possible.

Broke down near here and all the folk at the Green Man made us very welcome . Would go again . Didn't eat there .

Can't really rate the food as we went on a beer festival night, many years since I've been so looked forward to it, still a great pub , electric atmosphere on the Saturday we went, great band would definitely go again.

Friendly pub with very good food; definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. Pro tip 1: it can get busy and, as the restaurant area consists of four tables, I'd recommend booking. Pro tip 2: don't do what I did, which was stand under the jukebox and try to put in your orders. It's loud enough to make comprehension more difficult than it needs to be... Pro tip 3: it's order at the bar and you'll need to pick up some menus as you wander past the pile on the way to your table. Pro tip 4: there's a second car park around the back of the pub, so don't panic if the 'main' one seems full.

Went too see a band, had a great time. Very welcoming, great atmosphere, lovely hog roast. Pleasant surroundings..

We we’re staying locally and had this place recommended to us. The food was tremendous cracking portions and full of flavour, Bar staff were really helpful and the locals were welcoming and friendly. It was also spotless. We will be making a point of stopping in when we are next in the area.

Just had a couple of pints (very nice and well priced) and some snacks. Very friendly landlady. Will definitely pop back in when I'm in the area again.

The Green man is a bit of a rarity, a proper traditional pub in a beautiful setting, well kept lovely staff What else can you ask for?

No atmosphere, no one spoke nor would move slightly so you could walk through the bar.

Found this little gem and pulled in to get something to eat. Had the nicest roast beef Sunday lunch. Great service from the staff , will definitely be returning. Thank you all at the Green Man.

Old fashioned real pub in a delightful quaint village. Lovely welcoming staff. Spotlessly clean. Delicious food at unbelievably reasonable prices….homemade at that. We had the fish and chips followed by the biscoff cheesecake and treacle sponge. All for less than £30 (for 2 people). Looking forward to trying their Sunday lunches. Often have bands/singers on early doors Sunday.

Great pub with real ale. The Bass is superb. Three of us went on Sunday to listen to the Jazz Trio with excellent girl on vocals. The guitarist was very good and only 22 years old I believe. Looking forward to some more of the fortnightly music sessions.

We used to go all the time but last visit the sandwiches had gone up to nearly £10 and they weren't very nice and 6 chips on the plate with some lettuce leaves shall not be in a hurry to go back

I visited the pub today, there was nobody else at the bar and I stood there for some time and was totally ignored, the barmaid didn't make any eye contact and in fact turned her back on me and talked to the landlord for some time. Eventually the landlord approached me and grudgingly said "yes?". I politely asked if they did Sunday lunch and he said yes, I said could I have a menu please, he grudgingly handed over the menu that seemed to be the weekday lunch menu. When I asked if they did roast dinners, he said yes in an irritated manner and pointed at a distant blackboard which he hadn't referred me to initially. At this point I got a very strong sense that I wasn't welcome, possibly because I wasn't local so I left. The ambience was non-existent. I can't comment on the quality of the food but the quality of the service was APPALLING, I could never treat anyone like that, the landlord is certainly in the wrong trade and I certainly WON'T be returning.

Bit unwelcoming on our first visit but nice and friendly o our second visit. Vary sparsely decorated and we were told they weren't serving food due to staff issues. Then got there to find this was not the case. So slightly disappointed with it overall.

My wife and I called today and enjoyed an excellent Sunday lunch and a superb pint. The young man who served us was polite and friendly, overall a lovely afternoon. Thank you. We will return.

This popular pub has a very attractive beer garden and good service. Obviously we had to sit outside to eat today. And it really poured but gazebos were provided. The food was delivered in polystyrene containers. It was hot and tasty and my daughter's vegetarian goat's cheese in filo pastry was huge. Two of us had the pub's cheeseburgers with lots of chips and one had the steak pie with lashings of gravy with chips. All good. My husband loved his first two pints in an English countryside pub this year. He is a real ale fan and said both beers were spot on! Perfectly maintained and delivered to our table. Well done The Green Man, we met up as a family for the first time in 16 months today. And you helped us to enjoy this special occasion

Walked down from our caravan site 3 miles away. Lovely walk down country lanes and a great pint in a well spaced out beer garden. Will be back !

Friendly little pub. We go to the monthly quiz which is always good fun with lovely sandwiches and chips midway through. Well worth a visit.

Good beer and atmosphere friendly landlord

Visited The Green Man early evening on Thursday 31st October 2019 after attending a meeting in Stone and seeing the entry for The Green Man in the Good Beer Guide. The Green Man has a reasonably sized car park on its right hand side with easy access to the entrance at the rear right hand side. The Green Man is an unfussy rural public house with a large room running across the front of the building. A small dining area is located at the far left butnthis was in darkness with diners using the tables in the bar area. There are a number of real ales on offer with several guest ales. We ordered food from the bar and the food is prepared to order so do not expect a rapid meal . The food was made with fresh , tasty ingredients so was worth the wait. I had sausages and mash which arrived as a huge plated dish. My wife had a nice steak and chips meal. We were very impressed with the quality at a very inexpensive price.

A traditional village pub with a lovely open fire. Serves a good selection of drinks and excellent food. The lunchtime menu offers a good choice at a good price and their home cooked chips are delicious. Friendly staff a great asset to the community.

Good selection of alcohol free beers. Food is absolutely delicious. Burgers were great. Pizza super tasty and veggie options fantastic. And then there are the puddings.. If you get the chance to try the strawberry cheesecake OMG 10/10. Service was great too. Will definitely be going again.

Well worth a visit just for the beer but the food is really good as well, pub of the year for 2018, say no more.

Went for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by there being four vegetarian main meals available. I had the butternut squash burger which was very nice. Down side was the bun was white bread. If you like rocket you'll love the side salad. The dessert menu was four different puddings. Can't remember what they were except I had cocoanut and raspberry slice with custard. The choice was custard, cream or ice cream. So I'll just have to go back to sample the other permutations. And the other mains and desserts too!
