Fantastic afternoon tea to celebrate our collective 60th birthdays. Visited here as a party of 3 this afternoon. Two GF diners and a no dietary requirement diner. Amazing sandwiches, scones and delicate sweet cakes. Buckets of tea. Lovely atmosphere- felt like an occasion!

I thought I had had lunch today at THE GLOBE but seems it’s called Artisan Rooms. The service was impeccable and the food really delicious. In fact it was one of the best meals I have ever had. My son in law and I chose burgers, our friend had beef and my daughter had a vegetarian option which she loved. There were lots of choices and I can’t wait to try out the others. I should mention the beautiful outside seating area overlooking the lake which was stunning. If it hadn’t been February and cold I would have loved to sit out there. This was a late Christmas present for me and well worth the wait and the drive from Brecon. Anita kissane

A lovely experience with friends for Afternoon Tea. All the elements were very very nice, the welcome was excellent and so were the staff and service. The only disappointing aspect was we were charged £9 each for half a glass of Prosecco!! The cheapest bottle of wine was £35 which we felt was rather high. Such a shame when I asked the waiter if he was going to top the glasses after he gave us half a glass and he said no that was it!!’ It spoiled the experience. I did a review on their website but very disappointing again didn’t receive a reply. 🥲

Our Family love The Grove and over the years have celebrated many milestone events including our parents birthdays and Wedding anniversaries….today was Mums 95th birthday and a few of us gathered for lunch. Jolly came too so we were in the dog friendly snug but as it’s mid week it felt like we had the place to ourselves! Super pink bubbles before lunch followed by a super spread, we were all delighted with our Starters and Mains. We had some glorious bread with a rapeseed/herb flavoured oil which was delicious and locally sourced. Menu choices varied from Kimchi and Duck wonton, tomato and ginger; Fishcake, cucumber pickles and garden herb mayo; Bream, cucumber, watermelon and chilli to Mains such as Risotto, sweetcorn, Parmesan and crispy onion; Pea and tofu burger with Asian slaw and Parmesan fries and Saundersfoot sea bass, Grove vegetables and curry broth. We were very well looked after by all the staff but a big thank you to Jack who has just begun working at The Grove and was super polite, engaging and attentive, a wonderful ‘bedside manner’. Sadly no room for Pudding as we did have a rather fabulous Birthday cake waiting for us at home. Thank you adore making this another very special day.

Poor starters with a thin wishy washy sauce. A tasty burger smothered top and bottom with a strong/unpleasant American style mustard dressing and in a restaurant that should not allow a smelly/yappy dog in a room where guests are trying to enjoy a couples dinner. To top, that the dog’s owners had not dressed up for dinner and looked more like they had just come off the beach. Not what we expected at such a lovely venue. The front of house manager was apologetic but insisted that The Grove was dog friendly; so am I but I don’t want to eat with a dog. All that said, the staff were friendly and understanding and we weren’t charged for the inedible lamb burger.

A beautiful building , lovely grounds , perfect venue. We eat at the Artisan Rooms for the first time. The meal was very good. The fish cake was just right, The duck dish was exceptional I have only ever had a leg served like that in France. The sauce was perfect and such a nice antithesis to the cynical quarter of square cut breast served at most fine dine establishments. My husband had the steak pie which he said was unctious and delicious. The only disappointment was the dessert. I am a huge rhubarb fan but the frangipani had a poor consistency no almond taste and the rhubarb was inedible hard and unsweetened. I will try it again next time as it is a perfect sounding dessert and I think it was just a blip. I did mention it to the server ( not the person who looked after us during our meal ) but he simply shrugged and made no comment which given the rest of the service here was surprising. We will be back to try the main restaurant and rooms next time as all in all it is wonderful find a real Pembrokeshire gem.

The Grove is a delightful building in beautiful gardens. My husband and I, along with our dog, went for afternoon tea and enjoyed a lovely afternoon in one of the Artisan Rooms. Contrary to some of the previous reviews I read, we found the selection of savoury and sweet treats to be delicious. I agree there was not lots of food, but the quality was superb and we certainly had sufficient. Cakes taken home in boxes are never as good, so I prefer not to be over faced and to enjoy at the time. The service was excellent and we were made to feel very welcome. I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a special treat.

The reviews were so good we decided to eat at The Grove of Narbeth hotel on my daughter's 40th birthday on 28.12.2022. Sadly I found our experience very disappointing. Reservations knew this was a special occasion but not even a happy birthday wish was extended. Felt this was in poor taste. Our starters were delicious, my daughter's risotto main was also of a high standard but my Lamb hamburger was dense and heavy, so unenjoyable I left most of it uneaten. As the only diners in the Snug, the dog friendly part, it was up to us to create any celebration atmosphere and no one came near us to ask if our meal was enjoyable, or whether we needed a top up. Honestly felt dismissed, unwelcome and travelling 1.5hrs in each direction was not worth the journey, We chose The Grove as a 5* venue for a special 40th birthday but honestly I couldn't recommend it based on our experience.

Visited The Grove on the hottest day of the year. We were offered water in decanters containing tap water. It had Ty Hafan logo on it. When we received the bill, we were charged £4 per bottle! When we challenged why their tap water cost as much, we were told that money raised would go to Ty Hafan. When challenged further, we were told that 50p of it went to Ty Hafan, the rest in profit. It boggles my mind as to how a business can profiteer so shamelessly from only nominally supporting a children’s hospice!!!! We will not be returning. The full amount should have gone to Ty Hafan.

We arrived early at 5 pm for our dinner at 6.30 in order to get some time to absorb the ambience at the Grove. There is a very nice stone paved terrace, shaded by a number of trees, which is framed by a little pond. There were just a couple of tables occupied. We ordered two glasses of rosé from one of the two waiters serving on the terrace. After 20 minutes my husband walked inside the deserted building, tracking the waiter who had completely forgotten about our order. At 6.30 we found our way into the restaurant and ordered the Lamb burger with one glass each of the Beaujolais. The wine was kept in room temperature and on this day it was almost 30 degrees outside. I asked for the wine to be chilled and got a lecture by the waiter that they do not chill red wine by the glass but we could order a bottle or a rosé instead. I insisted and after a round of discussion we got the Beaujolais chilled. A few minutes later I overheard an identical discussion from our neighbor table where the guest responded "for God sake, I hope you chill the wine or a day like this, or it will boil!" The Lamb burger was tasteless and way too compressed, quite unsophisticated and not what you would expect at this kind of establishment. Our overall experience is quite affected by the poor attitude by service staff.

A 2019 review by the Sunday Times food critic Marina O'Loughlin first brought The Grove to our attention. My Partner Lynne and I are both foodies and we were looking for something a bit special to compensate for cancelled holidays and I must say, The Grove didn't disappoint. We went for the gourmet break with 10 course tasting menu and wine flight. The food was superb, Amazing textures and flavours and beautifully presented. Served by friendly, knowledgeable staff. Wines were imaginative and unusual. The hotel is old world country house but with delightful modern, spacious bedrooms. Bed was huge and very comfy and the bathroom was very well appointed but a little dark - found it difficult to see properly to shave.Narberth is very close and worth a potter and the coast at Angle and West Bay is truly beautiful.Overall, not cheap but worth a visit for a treat.

We stayed at the hotel and enjoyed the 10 course tasting menu with matched wine flight in the Fernery Restaurant. The restaurant gets an honourable mention in the Michelin Guide but a star cannot be far away. The food was absolutely incredible. The vision and skill of the chefs was clear to see in every detail, and the flavours were nothing short of delicious. Elevating this meal from excellent to truly world class, however, was the matched wine flight. The sommelier, a young man from Turin, was knowledgable and extremely passionate about his craft. He also happens to possess an exquisite palate, and it is this palate that paired some unbelievably good wines, from small and obscure producers, with the food. The partnership was magical and we enjoyed every mouthful and sip. On top of all this the staff were attentive, friendly, knowledgable about the dishes they were serving, and made the experience a delight. This despite strict social distancing measures being in place. An absolutely incredible experience, and we can't wait to return.

Visited for lunch in the Artisan Rooms on a wet Monday in March. Greeted by friendly staff and shown to my table, a table for two overlooking the gardens. Ordered my wine, a nice 2018 Viognier and my food, Ham Hock Terrine to start and Sea Trout for main. Delightfully crisp and warm Sourdough bread was served with nicely salted spreadable butter, then the terrine, a good sized portion with a not overly tart orange accompaniment, balanced with chicory and prunes, delightful. The fish was equally excellent, with crispy skin and pefectly cooked glacee flesh, the charred sprouting broccoli balanced with the sweet potato made for a good balance to the dish. Dessert was a lovely chocolate brownie with honeycomb and banana ice cream. A obligatory cappucino finished off proceedings. All food was excellent in freshness, presentation and execution. Service from Thomas and his staff was top notch with little details such as offering newspapers to diners setting this restaurant apart.

My husband took his father and stepmother here recently on a Travelzoo deal. The in-laws had been several times before to celebrate various wedding anniversaries so it's a favourite of theirs. He reported that the setting was lovely, staff were very welcoming and friendly and provided great service. The menu was varied but would have been very expensive without the deal, especially since portions were not large. But with the deal they were happy with the overall cost of the food. They all said it was nicely presented and well cooked but unremarkable. The biggest letdown was the wine. At £46 it was more than we'd usually pay for a bottle of wine but this could have been overlooked if it had been nice wine. However, all 3 of them thought it was terrible. And tasted so cheap that my husband checked it out afterwards. He found exactly the same wine for 6 euros in a French supermarket! So it WAS a very cheap wine and not at all what you'd expect in a high end restaurant.

Like everywhere in the area, this place is eye-waveringly expensive (what is it with Tenby - its outrageous!!!). My wife had the lamb and she couldn't speak highly enough of it (perfect). I ordered the steak (medium rare) and whilst it was served medium-rare, it was so chewy, I just couldn't eat it. I didn't send it back but they very professionally took it off the bill. I had the tomato soup to start and that tasted exactly like the Campbells tinned version. However, on the basis of my wife's complete satisfaction with her meal and the excellent staff, I'm recommending this place.

The hotel is absolutely stunning set in glorious grounds. The rooms were spacious well dressed and very comfortable. The only problem we encountered was with the dining experience. As we had a baby we weren't allowed to dine in the main restaurant which was their policy and we respected that. The option open to us was to dine in the Artizan room, which doubles up as the breakfast room. The food on offer here was quite limited and a little underwhelming esp for the price paid. The cost wasn't a particular issue as we dont mind paying for an experience but it was overpriced for what we had and left us feeling a bit disappointed. I did bring this up on checkout and although we did enjoy our stay and would go back we would on this experience dine out.

I’ve been coming to The Grove for a number of years and it never disappoints with the standard of cooking. I must say the only criticism is that my husband and I both had the custard tart with clotted for desert and it came as a very small slither on the plate with a little bit of clotted cream considering the price was £9.00 for each desert. I must admit I did feel a little ripped off.

The welcome at The Grove is very warm indeed and the staff all incredibly helpful. The hotel itself is very tastefully decorated to a high standard, and the food is excellent. The hotel has also tried very hard to be as eco-friendly as possible, which includes its approach to growing or sourcing food locally wherever possible for the dining experience.

We stayed three nights here. Weather did it’s best to dampen our spirits but the staff, food and quality of the establishment just made everything else fade into the background.

Went for a meal with friends, we have been several times before and have never been disappointed. Haven’t been since the refurbishment and we were very impressed, loved the new look. Food as always was fantastic particularly the crab salad, the smell, the taste, i am salivating typing this! Staff were friendly and professional however we were left a little disappointed at the end of our meal. It was about 10:30-10:40 and we were the only table left in the section we were in, our reservation was for 8 so it wasn’t as if it was horrendously late, BUT they just switched off the music and started setting the tables around us. We really felt that they wanted us to go, I appreciate that they want to get the place ready for next service but it would have been better if they had asked us if we would have liked to finish our drinks/coffee in the lounge or bar area.

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful afternoon tea at The Grove yesterday. We were made very welcome upon arrival and served a good variety of sandwiches and home made cakes. The hotel and grounds are absolutely beautiful. We would definitely recommend this to others.

My wife and I spent 3 nights in between Christmas and New Years 2018 at The Grove. The hotel and our room was luxurious, cozy and very comfortable. The setting was beautiful. And the food was was world-class. However, the service was very lacking. The first night at dinner, we waited at least 30 minutes between each dish. The second night was a little better, and the third night was positive, especially with head sommelier. But service for breakfast on the morning we left was very poor. In fact, after waiting an hour after our order without receiving our food or anyone even checking on us, I finally left. So it was a disappointing ending. I hope the service issue was due to temporary lack of staffing. Overall, this is a special place.

The grove is by far the most luxurious place in Pembrokeshire. I’ve stayed and eaten here and both were wonderful experiences. The quality is top notch throughout and the staff are amazing!! The only thing I would say is, it is very pricey but for the quality you do expect to pay and it’s definitely worth it for a treat !!

We had the most splendid day at The Grove this year, first time in 12 years I have not cooked for the family and what a treat me and my family had! The ambience of the hotel was lovely, beautifully decorated, the hotel was busy with residents and also guests for the day. We met some residents over cocktails who were staying for Christmas and they spoke so highly of their visit and the comfort of their room, in particular the splendid beds! The day was very well organized, and whilst not rushed there was clearly a system to ensure guests and residents were well attended to throughout the day. The food was exquisite - the only reason I am not awarding 5 stars is that after multiple emails and filling of forms, the hotel did get our Starters wrong which was very disappointing, but those provided in error were still excellent, however there was no reason for this error after all the asks of the hotel in advance of the day. The Sommelier Catriona was extremely impressive and very professional, what an asset to the Hotel, very personable, knowledgeable and with a splendid bedside manner. Karen the House Manager was also very attentive. Overall a lovely experience, plenty of food, beautifully presented and no rush to our agenda at all. Will definitely consider a repeat visit.

Just returned from a 2 day stay at this beautiful hotel. Lounges with chunky comfortable sofas facing huge log fires welcome you on arrival. This amazing hotel exudes an abundance of class and elegance. The food is simply divine: the service impeccable and the staff are attentive but never intrusive. Our stay was so memorable on so many levels. We can't wait to return. It's fabulous!

The transformation of the Grove is complete (for now) and the result is a beautifully and tastefullly restored country house hotel which is welcoming, cozy (on a cold damp night) comfortable and relaxed. Great choices of colour and texture accompany interesting art and artefacts. A big and very comfortable bed in a lovely room with country views. The fine dining experience is very good, and the amuse bouche and petit fours are delicious. Like all three ventures in this group (Beach House at Oxwich, Coast) the sommeliers list is well chosen. Breakfast is personalised and is great. My only criticism is the coffee was a bit lacklustre. This is a great place to explore from. Lovely Narberth is down the road (perfect for Xmas shopping and some deli delights at Ultracomida). We will definitely be back again.

Our second visit to the Grove for dinner. The food is amazing, the staff are very attentive and friendly. The first occasion was for my 50th a gift voucher from family prompted our visit. The second time was an anniversary gift to ourselves as we thoroughly enjoyed the first. The cost is not cheap but the experience and taste of the food us well worth it on a special occasion. No doubt we will go again next year.

The ambience, service and food was of top quality. It was over priced by £10 to £ 15 per person compared with the 3, michelin star restaurants in South Wales. Having said that I would recommend this restaurant for special occasions if in Pembrokeshire. Well done Alister and team great cooking and fab. evening.

This was an unforgettable stay. The whole experience was crafted so as to ensure that the customer gained maximum satisfaction. The experience started when driving up to the slowly-opening automatic gates. We were welcomed warmly, shown to our room - the Creselly suite, which was amazing - a shower and a huge bath, and a continent of a bed! We were then shown around the ground floor, so that we were au fait with the layout. We had booked a meal for 7p.m., so canapes were served in a small lounge at 6.30 - and gorgeous canapes they were too, which we washed down with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. The Á la Carte dining experience was perfection, from the attention of the waiters, to the exquisite meal. Two hours of pure enjoyment and relaxation. Breakfast was of the same high standardWe have visited several one-star Michelin restaurants in Wales. How this is not the eighth in Wales defies belief. This was a perfect, perfect experience - We could not fault it - friendly, efficient,.Quality shone through in every aspect.......Oh, did I mention the bed? Like sleeping on a cloud! Fantastic. We will certainly visit again

How this place isnt Michelin Star I do not no because everything about it is amazing. From the moment you open the door and walk in everything is top class. Warm, cosy lounges, polite friendly staff & professional knowledgable waiters. The chef has done a really good job, all 8 courses of the taster menu were amazing. The ambience of the fernery makes it all the better. Yes it is expensive but you get what you pay for.

I have visited this hotel several times;. It is a high class building, very tastefully decorated and the staff are most accommodating. However I have only ever taken Sunday Lunch there on days like Mothering Sunday or Fathers Day when there has been a set three course lunch. With this in mind there was no reason why I should not assume a 'normal Sunday would be any different but it was very different. Whilst the service and quality of the food were of the same very high standard, the portions were disgustingly small and the prices charged certainly not reflective on what was offered as for example the hake dish was roughly a piece 2 ins sq. With a tablespoon of mashed potato - £22.00 desserts were smaller at £9,00 We were entertaining guests and we all left the restaurant feeling less than fulfilled. I will visit again but definitely not for Sunday lunch - very disappointed.

We had a sumptuous afternoon tea at the Grove in July and it was absolutely lovely! Delicate sandwiches with chicken, cheese and salmon (and no crusts!), warm scones with cream and jam and elegant cakes that looked too good to eat. Add to this plentiful supplies of tea and it was just perfect. It wasn't cheap - £27ish from memory - but the setting in the hotel courtyard and the quality and efficiency of the service made it a very special occasion and worth every penny.

The Grove is maybe the only hotel we’ve stayed in that we could live at. From the moment the elegant electric gates open at the top of the drive you know this is going to be something special and it certainly is. The wonderful building, steeped in history; the staff, who quietly and efficiently make every element of your stay a pleasure, and the grounds, where you can sit, swing and walk to your hearts content, it’s like being welcomed into a beautiful country house by a personal friend who makes your stay perfect. And have I mentioned the beds? Just gorgeous!

We stayed for a couple of nights in August and initial impressions were very favourable. The Grove is found down a little country lane and you enter through electric gates that open as you approach. Lovely driveway with large mature trees on both sides. We were welcomed by one of the reception team who came out to meet us. A nice touch. Delighted then to find we'd been upgraded to one of the newly refurbished cottages. Great outlook and furnished exceptionally well.

We escaped a downpour here, we weren't planning on lunch, but ordered a sausage sandwich to share and it was great. The place was packed and very busy, but we'll run. The buildings are interesting, a maze of properties joined together, with the brewery downstairs. There's also a shop and coffee shop part of Harbwr. There are many places to eat and drink in Tenby and this one should not be missed
