Came here for Christmas with my family. Wouldn’t do it again. The staff were nice but the food was not up to scratch. The beef could have been slow cooked, was rather tough. Dessert was great though. I’m probably being quite harsh but on Christmas Day was expecting much better. Atmosphere was also strange with the news on a massive tv screen on the wall. Much room for improvement.

On checking for a vegan option was advised mushroom pie was vegan. It turned out the middle filling had to be taken out and poured over a selection of vegetables. It was OK and starter leek soup vegan but for 25 pounds for 2 courses thought they could have made an effort considering there was a group of seven people. Would not recommend to any vegans.Dissapointed

Ate dinner at the Arms as we were staying at the hotel. Food was good as was the service. Based on the hotel, I was afraid that the prices might be high but it was fairly reasonable for a restaurant near Buckingham Palace. Not sure that this is a place that you would seek out but we felt it was very good.

The menu is a little limited, but unfortunately the food is very poor. Could easily be mistaken for a ready meal and given that the service was very prompt I suspect it was. My Australian cousin asked for a steak and was asked how he wanted it cooked - medium rare - what came out was just a dry slab of beef - very dull. My linguine was awful and just a mash of mess and the shepherds pie looked as if it was a left over from an airline. The whole thing looked as if it was from economy class on a plane.

I twice ate at here, over three days. Both times the entire wait staff were very lovely to me, taking the time to discuss Wimbledon and the Cricket World Cup with, learning that I was passionate about both. The food and general atmosphere was good, but it's the personal service that matters most to me, and I liked the teams personal touches.

Rather than go out and search for somewhere to eat, we decided to have a late dinner in the Grosvenor Hotel. We ordered a vegetable casserole, a side of roasted carrots, and I had an 8-ounce glass of beer. The casserole had zucchini and red beans in it. The food was excellent, and the price seemed reasonable for dinner at an upscale hotel in London. The total came to 24.19 pounds. Great meal in a pleasant setting.

Just lower your expectations, folks. This is a casual hotel restaurant that’s quick and convenient for a decent full(ish) English breakfast or a reasonably priced and satisfying lunch/dinner. It’s neither fine dining with solicitous service, nor your atmospheric local gastropub where everybody knows your name. For what it really is, The Grosvenor Arms is actually pretty good. Service was just fine if not exceptional, but then I don’t need every server to be my BFF, and considering the context (a casual cafe/bar attached to a hotel) better than average. My hamburger actually WAS exceptional and so were my roast potatoes that I substituted for the flabby-looking chips. Quality beef, perfectly cooked (i.e. not to death) and well seasoned... what more could I ask for? Wine by the glass was also more than acceptable and well priced at £7. And yes, a modest service charge is added because, I suspect, many patrons are too tight-fisted or thoughtless to leave a tip! So please go to this pretty decent restaurant with these considerations in mind and you’ll be happy (if not ecstatic):)

Plastic was found in the starter and two of our group had a glass of red wine knocked over them by a waiter. To ‘compensate’ they took 1 starter off the bill which will not cover the cost of dry cleaning and they still maintained the service charge on the bill, despite their waiter spilling wine over 2 people. Combine that with slow service? I’ll not be going back.

The name suggests a nice, homely British Pub. This couldn’t be further from the truth though as this bar (situated in The Grosvenor Hotel) is cold & unwelcoming, a bit like a cafe. Whilst staying at The Grosvenor Hotel we visited & exited quickly. Would recommend The Victoria pub situated just opposite as a better option.

As I may have reported elsewhere, this once comfortable and finely presented room has been refitted to look like a cafe - which is about its new level, although even then, the service is lacking. The bar stools have gone. They don't serve "cocktails" (like a bloody Mary!) because "there is a cocktail bar upstairs". The drinks lists and menus they were using were so tatty and well thumbed that one customer complained they made her hands dirty. Happily, there is a proper bar, The Victoria, directly opposite the front door. A far better choice than this "four star" nonsense.

Every year for the last few years, my Mum and I have visited this bar for a ‘quick’ post Christmas shopping drink or two. Each year, the standards seem to drop but it’s a handy location and until today we’ve always been happy to return year after year. Not anymore. Most people would expect in this area if London to pay a fair amount for two glasses of wine. So the bill for the wine didn’t concern me. What did bother me was the 2.5% service charge added to the bill. Now I have to add, I went to the bar myself to order the drinks, I was told the barman would bring the drinks over to our table - which was less than 1ft away from the bar. When the two glasses were brought over, I asked if we could also settle the bill since we didn’t have long before our lift arrived. The bill never arrived at our table, I had to return to the bar & chase the bill. When I queried the service charge, I was told the amount is split between all the waiting & serving staff at the end of the night...what serving staff? Someone brought two glasses of wines less than 1ft from the bar & charges 2.5% of the total bill for the privilege...are you kidding me Grosvenor??! We won’t be going there anymore, we’ll find somewhere else! ‘Service’ charge - are you seriously calling less than a 1ft walk with two wine glasses on a tray... a service? Especially since I had to walk to the bar to order & back again to pay?? Terrible customer service. I don’t like being ‘pressured’ into tipping at the best of times but it’s twice as bad when the service has been so terrible!
