had an amazing experience at the grill room .my father in laws birthday .a table of15 all well happy .5 .11 .15 bonfire night .cudnt ask for more .

As always lovely atmosphere. Made very welcome the staff always friendly and nothing to much trouble. The food as always delicious.

Bel locale, non proprio centrale ma dove basta varcare la porta per sentirsi in un ambiente familiare e amichevole fin dalla prima volta. Ottimo cibo, soprattutto la carne, sempre ottima, qualsiasi sia il piatto che scegliete, la bistecca fese è qualcosa di unico!!! Il personale gentile, cordiale e molto amichevole come tutta questa splendida città!!! Da visitare

Mi esposa y yo disfrutamos de nuestras comidas; el personal super amable y atento servicio tanto el tiempo fisrst volvimos la noche siguiente y no lo lamentamos ni un segundo. Mi 1 minestrone y bang de noche, pollo secundarias (estilo salcita satay suave) eran para morirse y mi esposa;goujons eran deliciosos. El filete de cadera de 2 noche era realmente deliciosa. Había un verdadero ambiente de familia y amigos con auténtica hospitalidad y chattiness scouse. Como visitantes de Manchester nos sentimos tan bienvenidos como todo el mundo en esta ciudad fabulosa. Es un restaurante familiar y les encanta tener a gente de todas las edades y gustos. Esperamos que después de 4 años consecutivos que florecen y volveremos. No vayas!

Visitaremos las habitaciones de parrilla regularmente ... Muy pocas veces me escribir una crítica, pero me parece que tengo que mencionar lo absolutamente deliciosa tanto nuestras comidas estaban en nuestra última visita ... No sabía que tienen pero después de hablar con la camarera que era muy servicial y amable mi compañero decidimos por el filete y me decidí por el linguini (la mía estaba en el menú temprano de un pájaro de marisco tanto eran fabulosas!

Cualquier mi familia me fui hoy aquí. Todos teníamos nuestras comidas de las puertas tempranas menú. El filete de cadera era increíble, muy jugoso y se derretía en la boca. Mi pareja y yo nos enamoramos de la sal y la pimienta costillas. Pero lo más destacado de la comida fue la manera en que el personal con nuestra hija de 4 años. Realmente disfrutamos de ella y ella me encantó la comida. Fue estupendo para ver a los niños que no fue procesada comida basura. Sin duda volveremos. ¡Muchas gracias!

Amazing food and the staff can't do enough for you the hospitality is second to non I cannot recommend this place highly enough

A huge thank you to Maisie and Karen, for being such fabulous hostesses last night, and to their amazing chef too. We had my dad's 80th birthday party there last night, and the staff could not be more helpful and friendly, and the food was incredible too! I would highly recommend your restaurant for a cosy night or a bigger event such as ours - loved it and my dad had a fabulous nightThank you all againCarol xx

Having read such fantastic reviews regarding the service and quality of food at the Grill Room we decided to give it a go. Sadly for us, the fantastic reviews did not live up to that anticipation we so much wanted.I have left it a week before writing my review to ensure that I had time to reflect and not to write something negative on the spur of the moment, but upon reflection, time is not a healer for this particular experience.We booked our meal same day/last minute at The Grill Room after contacting the restaurant and leaving a message on their answer machine. We didn't get a timely response, so we called the published mobile number and spoke to the owner/chief.Our sitting was for 7pm and it was a warmish pleasant Saturday evening which allowed the large concertina doors to open up into the restaurant. Due to this people were popping out for cigarettes and you've guessed it the smoke was blowing in.The restaurant is small and very red inside decor wise and showing signs of wear and tear, as the walls are marked in area's where chairs have scuffed the walls etc. There are height differences within the restaurant, so wheel chair users be warned as the bathrooms are up a couple of stairs with no provision for chairs or users that we could see.The bar area and open kitchen are at the higher level.Probably one of the reasons why I personally did not enjoy my experience at the Grill Room is that there was a large birthday party in, who sat the full length of the restaurant. Very loud and very rowdy. For such a small restaurant at times the noise was unbearable. I take it the owners knew the party as they took time out to speak to them personally (nice touch). Any other venue, I believe they would of been asked to keep the noise down. At times I found it impossible to hear conversation within my own party, considering they were sat only a few feet away from me. A table next to ours had the same issue, at one point a lady put her hand over her ears to gesture the loudness to me with a frown on her face.After being told which menu items were not available due to being sold out (unbelievable on a Saturday evening with certain starters/steaks) my first impression was to leave as I was looking forward to a rump, but having a baby with us, being a Saturday night, availability, my arm was twisted to stay by my wife.A full bar menu was available except for draught bitter, which was served out of a can. One daughter went for a glass of Rosado, while my other daughter and wife went for a Pinot Grigio, but ordered a bottle. They chuckled when it arrived, as it was a known bottle of wine to them, that they normally purchased from Aldi for less than £5.00 a bottle when at home. To our amazement, when the bill arrived at the end of our meal, I was charged £16.95 for this £5.00 bottle of wine!Another ridiculous overly price charge was for lime cordial. A splash of lime which was purchased by the bottle from a local convenience store, while we were sat there, cost us £1.00! This was very greedy mark up. We are not charged that when drinking lime in London, let alone in a subherb of Liverpool.Rant Over...We all opted for a starter and I think my youngest daughter chose the best option with the ribs which were delicious. My son in law had the muscles which were in a spicy sauce that was very good. My wife went for duck spring rolls. It is actually served the same size as a chop suey roll that you would get from a chip shop. Not the finger buffet size you would expect from a restaurant.The rest of us had spicy cali mari that was nice, but portion size was a little on the scarce size, given the cost.For mains I had a sirloin steak that very nice, but nothing special. I asked for it to be medium rare and it was. Dissapointingly there was NO vegetable option, only chips! Apparently cooked three times, personally speaking, the chips are nothing special at all. Very dissapointed with the lack of accompaniments. I did not choose a sauce but opted for garlic butter. A minute portion and was charged £1.99 which again, I was not impressed at the cost.My youngest daughter ordered a well done steak (sacrilege) with pepper corn sauce, which was ok for her.My son in law had sword fish which he thought was very tasty.My eldest daughter had Seabass which she thought was fine and nothing to shout home about.My wife ordered fish and chips. The fish was far too thick and I could tell she personally was not enjoying it. She ended up splitting it between my son in law and myself. Part of it was an inch thick, which was off putting for her.A potion of onion rings for the table. Which were very good. (My favourite part of the meal).The girls shared a chocolate tart for desert which had mixed reviews and I shared the cheese board with my son in law.We think it was one of the owners, who was working the floor as a server didn't seem to have the time of day for us. Perhaps as we weren't in her section.Another server who could of been the owners daughter, could perhaps smile now and then. She was so miserable and seemed to look down her nose at everyone for the whole evening. Perhaps being sent to the shop for lime cordial didn't bode well.Our server was very chatty an looked after our section well.We were just finishing our desert when Stuart the chef said goodbye to the large table and left the premises and left his wife and staff to clean up.As usual, my bug bare. NO linen, but paper towels on the table...Our experience for that evening cost us £173.95Would I go back to the Grill Room... Let's just say, we've eaten in some very good and not so good establishments and when you pay the amount we did for a meal you expect something special...I'll let you guess my answer.

Hi,Just thought I would write a quick review . I'm new to trip advisor but following such a lovely experience at the grill room I thought I would comment.Myself and my wife and our newborn baby visited on Saturday.we usually go to town or lark lane but fancied a change as it's more local to us. Let me tell you we weren't disappointed . The staff we're friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The chef Richard recommended fish and chips which is a favourite of mine and it was beautiful fresh fish with perfect light and crispy batter.This definitely will not be our last visit . Thank you for a lovely meal head chef Richard and staff.

I have been to the grill room a few times now, with friends and family. Quite a hidden gem, with a lovely feel to the place. A family run restaurant serving early bird specials to great steaks, would definitely recommend this great little restaurant.

Second visit and surprisingly quiet. usually difficult to get a reservation but touched lucky today. Steaks are good, cooked no blood but not burnt as I asked for. Lots of sauce, good chips and a good portion. Home made tomato soup was lovely. Husband had house red as I hadn't been well and was not drinking and he was more than happy with it. Too full for puddings so went for coffees instead. Waitresses very pleasant. All in good value and pleasant eatery.

We went The Grill Room for a family celebratory meal & had a mix of ages from little ones to grandparents. The staff were fantastic, we were served quickly and looked after all evening. The food was fantastic. Everyone enjoyed their meal, in particular the salt & pepper chicken. This restaurant most definitely offers great service & good quality food that's value for money. We will, undoubtedly, be returning again very soon.

I can't praise this restaurant enough, from the fabulous food to the welcoming atmosphere and the lovely, helpful staff! Myself and my family (four of us) visited The Grill Room again last week for a Sunday Roast and once again couldn't fault it - my husband is stupidly picky with his roast dinner and this is the only place he will go to get one - no complaints from me as it never fails to impress. Even though the restaurant is always really busy on a Sunday (probably due the really good food for a very reasonable price) we are always made to feel welcome and nothing is ever too much bother. My son is a very picky eater and is always catered for without any hassle - not something that happens everywhere. Thanks again and we'll be back soon!!

I visited this wonderful restaurant last week with friends and family. What a wonderful place . Unfortunately its location is not great so not that well known BUT if you can seek it out it is well worth a visit . The food was fabulous and we all had different things .The bread brought to the table at the start of the meal was divine ..... The staff very friendly and attentive particularly Maisie who I think owns the restaurant with her husband who is also the chef!

Visited here on a weeknight with a group of friends for the first time. The meal was excellent, staff friendly and service excellent. It was a cosy little restaurant and although full the staff had plenty of time with each table. Would definitely visit again.

Visited here for a celebratory meal and wasn't disappointed. There was lots of choice on the different menus. Staff were very attentive and helpful without being intrusive. The food, from starters to desert, was outstanding, tasty well presented and plenty of it. Well recommended! One of the best meals I have had in local restaurants. Will definitely be back soon. First time here after many times trying to book, always full. Tonight it was not full rather empty bur this meant the waitress had more time to chat. Decent portions fair prices, nice wine and beers. Menu was a little limited but then if they try too many items, it is difficult to be good at them all and we were told it was about to change. Steak was good, swordfish was good, no complaints.

The grill room is cosy and friendly we hadn't booked and still managed to get a table, food was fresh and light, lovely staff but prices could be a bit lower

Have visited The Griil Room on several occasions & decided it was about time İ shared my thoughts & comments!!!Can't fault anything...food is fantastic (which is no surprise) as found out the owner has quite some background in terms of training & fine dining.İt shows with all of his staff too,fresh produce,daily specials,staff are always polite & friendly.Whether you go as a couple or with family or friends the whole experience is more than worth it...lovely cosy ambience!!!Celebrations are always warm & intimate!!! Prices are reasonable & right in the heart of the neighbourhood... a big plus!!!!

Love love love it here! Food is fab, the owners and staff are so friendly and you can't argue with the prices especially the set menu's. Never had a bad meal, only downside is it's really cold in there :(

Was celebrating family birthday and we had Sunday lunch menu which was excellent. Staff really helpful and food was fantastic, would reccomend this place to anyone. Great for kids too as we where all made to feel realy welcome.

Me and my partner visited the grill room on Saturday 14th march, 2015 we had the steaks they were cooked as we asked, one of the best steaks We have ever had, and the homemade chips were georgeous, could have eaten 2 portions. Staff really friendly and answered all our questions about the menu. We will definitely be going back..

Recently visited here for a baby shower and a hen night! The staff are very friendly and accommodating! The atmosphere was fantastic! The food was great - so filling and definitely worth the money! Cannot wait to visit again soon!!

been here quite a few times now and the food,service,staff and price never fails to impress me, steak is lovely and I cant complain re anything on the menu and whats great there is not a microwave in sight,excellent place

I visited the grill room with my husband, mum, dad, sister and her 4 week old son. The food was fabulous, and the service was superb! The waitresses even held the baby, whilst we ate our meals! A truly wonderful place, with a lovely atmosphere and great food! This was our 3rd visit and we will definitely be back! Thank you!

My parents live in the area and was persuaded to try the Grill Room as they both enjoy the meals there. Impressed with the attentiveness of staff and the selection of the set menu. Whilst I enjoyed my starter of a large spinach and filo pastry, my mum and I were not too impressed with the main of seafood linguine. The seafood didn't taste fresh and the tomato sauce seemed quite heavy. The chilli flavour was somewhat overwhelming. My dad's main of the lamb seemed to be cooked well and he said it tasted lovely- this restaurant is definitely living up to its name in terms of meat, but it didn't deliver on the seafood dish on this occasion.

Visited with friends and totally enjoyed the evening.food was perfect and sent the taste buds into overdrive.the service was friendly and relaxed.will defo return.

Just on the way home from Wales after a hard day in the mountains and was thinking what shall I eat for tea when I remembers the grill room as I wasn't far away it hasn't changed same staff and owner got myself a steak which was superb the staff were all great the music and atmosphere all complemented the food a truly excellent last minute choice and the price was really fare only a few quid more than my usual chippy

We travelled to Liverpool to take a friend out to dinner and searched Trip advisor for good local restaurant, really pleased that we did. Due to traffic problems we were delayed and contacted the restaurant to advise that we would be late, they said this was no problem for them. I was greeted by name as we entered the restaurant - a clear indication that the staff really know and care about their customers. We were seated quickly and offered the menu and "specials" board even though our extended journey had delayed us beyond the time for the early bird special. We selected 3 different meals and the restaurant accommodated our guest be amending one of the specials to suit her preferences. The fish and chips were great, batter was amazing and the steak were the best my partner had eaten in a restaurant. We all had pudding too baked cheesecake (apparently delicious) and ice cream sundae. Sundae was great - 3 flavours of good quality ice cream, toffee sauce, brownie pieces and balanced by sour fruit compote. Restaurant was busy, with friendly atmosphere. Staff members front of house were very pleasant and efficient. All in all a good night out

When's to the grill room Sunday lunch time in party of 20 for birthday meal.the food was outstanding the best I've had for a long time.every body was delighted with the pleasantness of all the staff and the quality of the meal.they had a good selection of wines and beers.allthe meals where served together.everybody really enjoyed all three courses. Just had an amazing 3course meal here .could not fault a thing. Lovely food and wine . friendly staff nice atmosphere . portion size spot on will definitely be going back, can't wait!

Had to put a review as soon as I got home from this little gem of a resturang down to earth fab food and service was fantastic , to many nice things to say about each course Rice pudding was unbelievable even better than my mums and believe me I thought was impossible to achieve , finally I was gobsmacked to read a recent comment on trip advisor bad mouthing this fab Restuarant ,all I can say is they must have went to a different Restuarant than we went to , will defonately be going back soon .

After seeing the previous review i was about to cancel my booking as my husband is a big man ( 17 stone ) but went anyway , and so glad we did the food wasAmazing and my husband couldn't even fit a pudding after having starter and main most enjoyable evening and would definitely be going back .

It took us 10 minutes to drive there and only 10 minute to be served eat pay and leave. This is not a good thing and here is why......Staff was polite no issue with server except they had no vegtables available !!Steak was meant to be a 8oz i have seen fillet of fish bigger and it cost 16 pound and was more like 4ozI was hoping for a nice meal i left hungry i did eat 2 or 3 chips before i took a picture .Steak is good quality but we got ripped off!!!! Size is terrible

Thirteen of us had a pre Christmas gathering in this bright friendly restaurant. We were greeted immediately with lovely smiling faces. Staff were very attentive and service was brilliant even though the restaurant was full. We all had three courses and the food was excellent and everyone's meal was served at the same time. Everyone of us thought it was the best restaurant we have visited for a long time. It was also really good value for money. If you want something special we can recommend the Grill Room without any hesitation. Treat yourself and enjoy!

Just very occasionally you find a suburban restaurant that beats better known, city centre locations. The Grill Room is such a restaurant. It's small (maybe 50 covers?) but perfectly formed. The staff are just soooo... friendly and the chef/owner even pops out to see how everything's doing and say hello.If meat and fish are your thing I doubt you can better this restaurant anywhere on the north or east of Liverpool. In fact, at only four miles from the city centre, it's worth getting a cab if you're kicking your heels on business in the centre of town and appreciate a really good steak. You can have it exactly the way you want - e.g. medium rare comes pink with blood or just pink - you choose! And it's superbly aged, melt in the mouth delicious.We found the food excellent, the portions ample and the service just so attentive. One or two reviewers suggest the prices are high. We don't think that's fair. It may not be chain pub prices but it's not a chain pub! It's a superb little locally owned and run restaurant serving food of the highest quality.I have struggled to find a great restaurant when visiting Liverpool. And if I'm honest I've discounted this one previously because I couldn't believe it could be as good as the hype. Mistake! Will undoubtedly return and can thoroughly recommend it.

Remains one of my favourite local restaurant in Liverpool! The squid is exquisite! The 'fish' is always fantastic here! Spongebob Squarepants would be proud!

Stumbled across this place looking online for a nice place to eat, on arrival we where greeted with a wholesome welcome and where made to feel at home immediately.the menu was varied with good quality fish and meats, rump steak and a gourmet burger was ordered and we found that they were served just as requested and to an excellent standard ( and were delicious).Overall this restaurant is great place to eat with quality food and fantastic service 5 stars.

Decided to go to the Grill Room whilst visiting my son and daughter-in-law who live nearby.We were celebrating mine and my sons birthdays.Although it doesn't look much from the outside it was actually a lovely restaurant, we were all impressed with our meals and service there. The starters were all delicious, the mussels really wowed my husband and daughter -in-law. Steaks were cooked to perfection and my sea bass was the best I've had for along time. The home made chips also went down very well as did the wonderful puddings.The staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely visit again when in the area. My son and daughter-in-law are very luck having a place like this on their doorstep.

Went for a meal with my husband and in laws. Had a very pleasant suprise, food was beautiful had the mussels and fillet steak, the food was cooked to perfection, very tasty and the waitress was very attentive. Did not expect such a lovely restaurant just around the corner from where we live. Will definitely be coming here again cannot reccomend enough!

Only been a few times but had a lovely 3 course sunday lunch. A great choice of starters mains & afters (as they were called when I was a kid!) - salt and pepper squid for starters was fab NOT in the least bit chewy just succulent and tasty, the pork roast dinner - lovely - and ooohhh baked rice pud to round it off. Staff and service very friendly and a nice relaxed atmosphere (and excellent taste in background music)...if you've not tried it for sunday lunch or indeed any other time then GO .. you'll be glad you did

Took an elderly vegetarian and my aunt for her 93rd birthday and had a super time.The restaurant originally said they were closed on Tuesdays then called back to say they'd got a party coming in so could accommodate us after all.When advised we had a vegetarian among us the chef immediately came out to offer a number of off menu options.All food was superbly cooked and a massive improvement on the stodgy overcooked fayre offered at the local chain pub/restaurants. The service was brilliant throughout and they were happy to accommodate a discrete pause between courses despite a party of 20+ ladies arriving half way through our visit.Excellent for any location, not just West Derby.

First time today and would Highly recommend , all my immediate family went today to celebrate our 40th Anniversary 6/07/2014 Excellent service very pleasant atmosphere and the Food was lovely and a pleasure to visit and all round pleasant experience Thanks again to all x

The food is delicious and fresh. The staff are friendly and go out of their way to be helpful. We are not locals and found this restaurant on trip advisor and it is a real gem. Highly recommended.

Myself and my hubby went here last night for the first time. The hosts were very friendly and couldn't do enough. We both had three courses (really unusual in our case) but the food was so nice we had to try as much as possible!! We are definately going to recommend The Grill Room to everyone and we will be returning ASAP!!!

As a couple myself and my boyfriend eat out quite a lot, usually in the city centre as it boasts some of the best restaurants the city has to offer. Or so we thought. We have driven past The Grill Room several times and both commented that we should pay it a visit after many of our friends have told us how they have enjoyed meals there. We did so this weekend and the only regret we had was that we didn't tap into this hidden resource sooner. The Grill room isn't vast or spacious however this for us was a plus point as our visit was intimate and cosy and made us feel like a part of the family. The staff were attentive and friendly and spent time chatting to us and telling us about the menu and the locally sourced produce which they lovingly prepare on site fresh every day. Our starters arrived and the conversation came to a halt as we both just made "mmm" noises and nodded at each other every now and again to agree we were having fun. My pate was clearly homemade and of high quality and my boyfriends ribs were messy and chunky...both prerequisites for any manly starter, so he told me! We both opted for steak which was out of this world with chunky chips that combined equal measures of a crispy exterior with melt in your mouth fluffy centre. The peppercorn sauce needed to impress as I describe my own as my signature dish! There would have been a domestic at the table had I not agreed with my boyfriend that there was no competition....it was far superior to any I had ever tasted. The onion rings were like car steering wheels...huge. They were crunchy and light and a perfect accompanying side. The sticky toffee pudding oozed indulgence and although we shared it we did become rather precious over who had overstepped the sharing code of conduct and had too great a portion. All in all the food impressed us no end and we have been talking about it ever since. The staff were lovely and made us feel so welcome. My one criticism would be that if you have a dish you cook that impresses your partner try not to let them order it from The Grill Room, you're setting yourself up for a fall. 10/10

I drive past everyday and had heard good things, but never tried The Grill Room, unfortunately for me !!! It was a great evening, fantastic food, the staff where great !!! I could not pick fault even if I tried !!!

Great meal, friendly staff that made us feel welcome. The price and the food was lovely but drinks could have been a little cheaper.

The restaurant is good. Very good in most areas. Unfortunately the steaks were only ok, and made with an incorrect level. Since this is a steak house that takes pride in its steak (and prices accordingly), this was the most important criteria for my grade.

Was looking forward to a good experience and good food after all the rave reviews on the grill room but alas we found that the food was ok but did not justify the prices charged, and we found the whole experience a bit of a let down.

I had the salt and pepper chicken and the lamb shank both were lovely and very tasty would definitely recommend it!!

First timers here after it was recommended by our friends. Loved it! Excellent steak cooked to order and exactly how I asked for it. Nice staff and not overpriced for the quality.

Visited this Restaurant last friday for an evening meal for 2. On arrival we were shown directly to our table and promptly served with drinks. We had starters of Salt Cod fish cake and the salt 'n' pepper ribs. Both were tasty, especially the fishcake. For mains we had Cod and a Fillet Steak. Both were cooked perfectly. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Only minor thing was that the room was quite noisy, Especially when we arrived at 8 when there were a few young families there just finishing off their meals. But maybe that's just me being old and grumpy. I would certainly recommend this restaurant for the quality of the food and friendly service.

This was the first time me and my partner had visited the grill room , we decided to eat there due to all the good reveiws and we wasnt let down , We were seated straight away and had our drinks within a few minutes we chose the early doors menu i had the crispy steak which had a nice little kick to it while my partner had the sol gojouns they looked and tasted so fresh , i had the steak also for my main me and its the first time in ages its been cooked totally to my taste , we had the homemade toffee sticky pudding which was my faviorte part of the meal ,, staff where friendly and professional would reccomend this place to any one and will be visiting again soon

My boyfriend and I visited here after reccomendation and seeing it's highly rated ranking on Trip Advisor. Originally we wanted somewhere in a more lively location where we could visit a few bars after but decided to still try out The Grill Room first and WoW we are glad we did! We are both steak lovers and have had steak in many places across Liverpool, this is defiantly up with my best fillet steak in Liverpool! Served with chips that were also very nice, a portobello mushroom and a tomato. To start my boyfriend had the salt and pepper ribs and I chose the fish cakes, we could not fault either dish! The Pino Grigio wine we choose was also very nice!The prices were quite reasonable, £18.95 for fillet steak, they also had an early bird menu for before 7 that sounded nice if you get in early! Overall I would defiantly reccomend this restaurant!

A lovely restaurant with excellent food, service and atmosphere. Cosy and modern. Couldn't fault the food......and wine :). Great value for money. Can't believe I didn't go sooner. Definitely can't wait to go back again.

This was our 2nd visit to the Grill Room & once again we were not disappointed. We chose the Chateau Briand for our main which was cooked to perfection! Absolutely delicious! The staff were very friendly, taking their time to talk to us at our table. We will be going again!!

I recently visited the grill room! It was a cosy restaurant with a great atmosphere! The staff are really accommodating to your needs and are extremely helpful! The good was delicious and above all good value for money! I would definitely recommend it!

The grill room is a hidden gem on the outskirts of the city whose friendly staff provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere from the moment you step foot through the door. Restaurants like this can be hard to find especially outside of the city centre but this well run family restaurant allows its customers to relax and enjoy good quality food in a homely environment. Having enjoyed both the early bird menu and the tasty Sunday roast it's hard to say which time I have preferred to eat in this restaurant however if u want to eat good food in a cosy, reasonably priced restaurant I would not hesitate in recommending the grill room.

We ate here on Thursday evening. A lovely cosy restaurant, nicely decorated, and a great welcome from the staff. We ate off the "early bird" menu was exceptionally good value for money, and thoroughly enjoyed our starters - one chicken parfait, one peppered mackeral. The main courses of haddock, mash and poached egg for me and my husband's steak were equally enjoyable, and we finished off with a cheese board to share. The food was very good quality, very well cooked and beautifully presented, plus the house wine was good and well-priced. What really impressed us, though, was the great atmosphere created by the owners and staff - as a previous reviewer stated, it was like being welcomed as friends rather than customers. A great nice all round - we would recommend this restaurant wholeheartedly.

I am a coeliac so often worry about restaurant trips, often no understanding of gluten free diet or issues of contamination but was fabulous experience . Even though there were about 30 of us for my friends leaving meal the chef came over and offered me several alternatives to what was on the menu. It was delicious. Thinking of taking the family for my dads 80th birthday in feb. Fantastic food, nothing too much trouble, lovely experience.

After booking Christmas day lunch with the kids for the first time ever I was quite anxious about the food. I had nothing to worry about the food was excellent the starter of salmon was the best I had tasted, the Turkey Xmas dinner on par with my Mum's just enough to satisfy. The desserts where all delicious. The only disappointment was the price for the children's as they found 3 courses too much and the service wasn't the best.

Being from Liverpool I always wondered what a restaurant like this was doing so far from the city centre. It has great decor and the food was good. One slight disappointment was the accompanying salad was wilted and looked sorry for itself. The staff are very friendly and the ambiance was fine. At £55 for two including starters, main & wine it was OK. It's a shame it's so far out of the city.

What a fantastic restaurant. Only 20 minutes walk, yet will give the city restaurants a run for their money. The atmosphere is just what you need at the end of the day. I am fussy with my steak, and this was the best steak I have had in years, cooked to perfection (rare). The staff are lovely, professional, yet so friendly. You get what you pay for here and will definitely be going back

I was introduced to this restaurant by my sister who had been twice before. Safe to say, I am wholly impressed.The food was incredible (Salt & Pepper Ribs to start, Homemade Burger for main and the Ice Cream Sundae for dessert).Despite there being a table of 20 who ordered just before we did, food was delivered incredibly quickly and piping hot.Grill Room definitely surpasses a lot of the more expensive restaurants in the city centre over both quality and friendliness of staff.Will be returning here again!

Went here after hearing good things from friends and reading the reviews but we were disappointed. The steak we wanted was out of stock.Thought the food was average and was nothing out of the ordinary we were very underwhelmed.

Just celebrated my birthday with my family in the best restaurant in Liverpool. Had such a wonderful time it's prompted me to write my first review on Tripadvisor! The staff are so friendly and make you feel very welcome. The food was excellent, everything cooked to perfection and full of flavour. My husband said his seafood risotto starter was to die for! My mum really enjoyed her salt cod fishcakes and my son finished his goosnargh chicken by mopping the plate clean with the complimentary bread. Surprised somebody has written they had to pay £2.50 for chips to go with the steak because my eldest son had steak and it came with chips, mushroom and grilled tomato. Makes you wonder if this person has actually visited this restaurant? There were 6 in our party and we all agreed it was a fantastic meal and a great evening out. Will definitely be going to the Grill Room again soon.

We went to this place a few weeks back, just haven't had chance to write a review... Alls I can say is 'wowza guys - not to be drove past!' This is a truly little hidden gem.. The place itself is beautifully decored, the ambience is fab, and the staff and owner Stuart are amazing.!!! My hubby and I had a really lovely night, his steak was awesome and my chicken with couscous was real tasty .. With being a pub restaurant manager myself I am very choosy and picky.. And I can honestly say this ticked all boxes.. I did mention to my hubby the lighting could be lowered as it seemed a little bright .., then amazingly the lights were lowered which they must do through service.. The dark haired lady who served us (think her name was Cecile.) was lovely and Stuart was an amazing host and chef.. Well done guys.. Keep it up.!! and we'll certainly be returning soon.. nice place ,nice staff but make sure you take salt because the food is bland ,the food just never had any flavour. I personally thought it was over priced don,t like it when you have to pay £2.50 for chips to go with a £16 pound steak . Average pub food at restaurant prices.

We were planning a meal out for my birthday but was unsure of where to go. After consulting trip advisor I chose The grill room for two reason, reviews and it is 5 minutes from where I live! Wow what a find! Firstly restaurant was full with dining customers which is always a good sign. Food was served really quickly by very helpful and friendly staff. I had salt & pepper ribs, my husband tomato soup- beautiful. For mains salmon with seafood risotto which was delicious and my husband had steak which was cooked to perfection(med/rare). Both we're piping hot and freshly cooked. They had evil offers on of two course for £12.95 or three course for 15.95. Food was that nice we stayed for ice cream sundae!!! This was my first visit here even though I live locally but one thing for sure it will not be my last! By the way they do Sunday lunch too! Proprietors, despite restaurant being really busy still took time to chat, lovely touch. Fab fab fab, a must for all .

Dont argue over whos cooking tea!!!! Just go the grill rooms 2 courses for £12.95 !! I almost needed rolling home, Fab fresh food, lovely little atmosphere going on, staff are so friendly!!! Cost us less than £40 for 2 courses & a few drinks each PLUS we didn't have to wash the dishes or worry about parking in town!!! Highly recommended very welcoming. Will be returning soon!!!

Following tripadvisor reports we got a taxi (£9) from our hotel and loved every minute of our visit. We had fabulous steaks, great value wine and a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Last time we stayed in Liverpool we dined at Marco Pierre White - The Grill Room was better and even cost less, despite the taxi fares. It is relatively small but the atmosphere is great and the staff are so friendly. The wine list was surprisingly good - we had an excellent Argentinian Malbec for less than £20. Thank you Stewart and Maisie for a fantastic meal - you put the big city restaurants to shame!

my daughter inlaw and i went to the grill room sat the starter and main course was fab followed by a bottle of prosecco the staff was so friendly and helpful atmosphere was relaxed it was great this was my 4th time at the grill room and im looking forward to my 5th

Staff were the friendliest I've ever come across. Down to earth and eager to help. Atmosphere was relaxed and the decor was lovely. Would highly recommend the duck starter and the fillet steak main. Simply amazing! Would go time and time again!

Went yesterday for the early bird menu and it was great! The atmosphere of the place is so lovely and family orientated. Nothing was too much trouble. Really liked the booth area and preferred to eat there which was no issue to staff. Impressed that the chef has given young people a chance and trained them under his supervision. Food was fantastic and fresh. Highly recommend

This truly is a hidden gem - I went to the party night and had a great night, the staff are very friendly and the food really delicious - compliments to the chef ! I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
