We went here for our Christmas lunch, there were twenty five of us and we had a lovely time. The place is beautiful, the food is good and the staff very attentive. We had no complaints from any of our group and I would recommend this hotel. The tables were stunningly set special thanks to Ryan .

This was our first visit here and we’ll definitely be back! The hotel is still being refurbished but the staff were managing well and couldn’t do enough. The afternoon tea was very nice and included some tasty warm savouries and a delicious warm scone. The atmosphere was relaxed and we weren’t hurried. We had a lovely afternoon catching up.

! ) Volveremos otra noche de carne.

Visited The Grill Room on Sunday after a friend recommended it for a carvery. We were greeted right away and seated in the restaurant. The service was very good - very attentive and friendly, and although the waitress was clearly very new she was lovely and made sure she didn't forget to ask us all our options. We decided on the high tea option - tea and toast, carvery, scones and cakes for £12 each. The food was really tasty! The scones were fabulous, soft and still warm. The carvery was great as well. Just a couple of things to stop me giving it 5 stars - the toast would have been nicer if it had been a nice farmhouse loaf or something freshly baked - it was more just like your average sliced bread. We had to ask for butter for the toast. When the scones came they didn't give us a spare plate. There could have been more veg on offer at the carvery. However this is me being really picky, and we were really impressed with the amount of food on offer for the price. Excellent value for money and we will certainly be back.

We went to the Dean Park Hotel , visiting family in Kirkcaldy Scotland The food was excellent however the service was rude and unfriendly- they made us feel some unwelcome. They got drinks wrong and made us feel was our fault !! We then waited for desserts and again made us feel we were in the wrong The guy supposedly in charge was the worst-message to management -is he really who you want to represent your business?

My other half was 40 on the 26 October this year and he wanted a family meal. I telephoned the Dean park and got a lovely receptionist who arranged an appointment with there events manager (Chris Dickson). Chris was lovely he went over menus and other bits and pieces which I might not have thought about. I then called up to see about decorating the table to my surprise the lovely receptionist said "wont you have enough to do we can do it for you" BRILLIANT. I Handed in the decorations and it was all to be done for me. WHICH IT WAS and with a fantastic surprise on arrival of his birthday meal they had given us a private room which was fantastic as we had three kids wanting to run around with balloons. The decorations and table were fantastic. We had 15 people, our meal was fantastic and the service outstanding nothing was any trouble at all. If anyone wants a big family meal which is lovely I highly recommend the beef please go to the Dean park you wont be disappointed.

We were a group of 15 people who waited endlessly for our high tea. It was a farce. The toast was taken away even though people were still eating it. A lot of the group had ordered a carvery but when we went up to help ourselves we were told that there was only a little beef left and altho there was pork and ham most wanted beef. There was a long hair in the cauliflower and cheese sauce and the potatoes were only served with gallons of melted butter. The Yorkshire puddings were tough as the soles on shoes and everything was luke warm and very salty. Others had fish with very hard thin chips which mainly landed on the floor and warm salad. Some of the cakes were stale (probably the length of time we had to wait on them). The bill had to be recalculated 3 times as they were persisting on charging us drinks that we didn't have. At no point did anyone ask if things were ok and although they heard us complaining they offered no apology - in fact they avoided us. On the way out I had a rant at Liam, a manager, who quickly passed the buck and didn't deal with the issues

Called in for dinner Saturday 2nd May, 2015 for birthday celebratory meal which we found to be excellent. Fillet steak was mouthwatering. Staff manner throughout extremely courteous. However when we sampled the cocktails on offer we found them to be extremely and utterly dull, uninspiring with bitter aftertaste which was very disappointing. When I asked a member of staff why the cocktails were so ordinary with no flair or memorable taste and I was advised that was how they were told to serve them.

Recently visited the Dean Park with friends for the steak night and although the decor can do with a freshen up the meal was lovely, a relaxed atmosphere and excellent service from the staff. The drinks bill was also very reasonable for a party of 4.

Visited The Grill Room with my wife to try their Sunday Carvery, wasn't overly optimistic, but came away vowing to return. The service was first class, and the food was superb. On our visit the choice was Pork Loin, Roast Beef and Gammon, we tried a bit of each and along with the choice of vegetables, including my favourite Cauliflower cheese, and in all it made for a super meal. We didn't indulge in a dessert though i've no doubts that would have been first class as well. Looking forward to our next visit already, recommend booking if eating later in afternoon as it got busier as we were leaving.

My second visit to the restaurant as had a meeting locally, I specifically booked this hotel for the food and made sure I had plenty of room to be able to take full advantage of ordering all three courses as I did not want to miss out!I travel and eat at a lot of restaurants week in week out (at least five times most weeks across the UK) both for work and socialising and absolutely love this one. It is incredibly excellent value for money for the outstanding menu many of the dishes would not look out of place at one of the Michelin star restaurants I've had the pleasure of eating at tooThis time I had the liver parfait to start followed by beef cheeks and the brownie for desert, sounds simple but was stunning. I'm well aware I'm a very fussy eater, not liking cheese, coriander, ginger etc and a demanding one in terms of high expectations so don't take this review lightly!I'd advise everyone to try something slightly different than their normal safe options, simply as if your are going to try something new you should give yourself the opportunity to try it at its very best and I'd be confident this will be!The service is fantastic too, warm, friendly and very effective without being obtrusive.Well done guys, I shall be creating another reason to come back very soon!

What a lovely evening our party of 6 had at the Dean Park Hotel . The food and service we received were excellent. We all had the fillet steak and each one was prepared to perfection and presented beautifully. Everything about the evening was faultless . I would definitely recommend the restaurant and next time we are going to try the Sunday Roast.

We visited over a year ago and had a nice meal. Since our last visit the menu has changed and it is more of a steak house now. We visited last night with friends. The four of us all enjoyed our starters and then it was downhill from there. We ordered 4 fillet steaks and we had to send three back as they were overcooked. Whilst one of our party ate alone the other three waited only to be told they had run out of steak. As the menu is predominantly steak I didn't like anything else from the few remaining main course options. We complained and we were given a bottle of wine, but as I'm pregnant that didn't appease me much. The service was poor and the staff acted like we were getting on their nerves rather than trying to put right what had gone wrong. When the bill arrived we had been overcharged. Overall it was not a pleasant dining experience and I doubt we will return.

Earlier this week work colleagues had arranged to take me out for lunch to celebrate my 60th Birthday and it was only the day before the event that I learned it was to be at the Grill Room in the Dean Park Hotel, Kirkcaldy. Given previous relatively good experiences in this venue I was looking forward to my lunch there. As 13 or so colleagues were attending this lunch all our choices were provided in advance of the lunch. Did that make a difference - not at all! Why not - for some reason the Grill Room only had one waitress serving the whole venue. Despite providing our choices in advance lunch guests arriving at other tables after we did had their meals served before us. Once our meals were being served at our our table, with only one person serving it took several minutes for all our meals to be served. Some of the food was warm at best with some colleagues reporting their food to be cold - one colleague had a replacement meal served. While many enjoyed their food, some reported only that it was OK. A big shock came with the price of the food. Less than a year earlier my wife and I regularly enjoyed lunch at this venue where a two course was on offer for around £6.75 (or thereby). Now, less than a year later, the price had risen by a whopping 50%. Was this rise justified by the quality of the ingredients used or the overall experience? Not at all when you consider that colleagues who asked for the breaded or battered fish and chips were served one very modest sized piece of fish along with what was clearly the cheapest frozen chips and peas. The sweets were also a slight disappointment. I had raved to colleagues about the 'sticky toffee pudding' on offer at the Grill Room but the offering served to me on the day was at best OK. The main pudding component was heavier in consistency with significantly less butterscotch sauce so overall it was much dryer and less succulent and flavoursome. Am I likely to have lunch here again following this experience - most certainly not - particularly as there are several better value and quality venues on offer locally.

My wife and I have enjoyed meals in the Dean Park restaurant on a number of occasions now and while we were slightly disappointed once with the food offered from the lunch time menu the same can not be said of the food we have enjoyed from the evening menu offered in The Grill Room. I enjoy a nice steak and every time I have ordered a steak it was prepared and served exactly as I ordered. On the last occasion it was served with the wrong sauce (mustard rather than peppercorn) but I actually enjoyed that sauce equally well. It was an even greater experience because of the excellent value. We were given a 50% discount card during a previous visit so our total meal bill was very affordable. Keep up the good food Dean Park! We'll certainly be back.

Booked Christmas Lunch. £60 per head for adults. £30. for children. The starter was a cup of soup. The turkey was from some sort of turkey roll. There was a pikora with it, (with turkey!). The vegetables were non existent. My sweet was supposed to be poached pear. I got a very small piece of pear, with some inferior sauce. The kids menu was a small cup of soup. Chicken nuggets (obviously bought in from a supermarket), chips, and icecream. I have never felt so ripped off in my life. This is a hotel with a chef!!!!. I have had some lousy christmas meals in my life, but this wins hands down.
