Great city centre pub. Lovely friendly staff. Good wine list. Food - the pie and mash were great. The garden peas were absolutely revolting. I think the chef needs to learn how to cook peas. They were inedible.

Very nice pub but the lady behind the bar has a voice like a foghorn.

Didn't have any of the first three pints I tried to order on. Barman didn't sparkle either. Typical city centre brewery owned pub.

Great welcoming bar. The manager did an amazing job dealing with not one but two unruly customers sensibly and calmly. Very impressive.

Recently refurbished, a great place to watch live sports, 10 percent discount on selected drinks with the sports app and plenty of screens to watch your favourite sport. A bit quiet on Boxing Day sadly

We booked the Griffin last minute for our Christmas party as we had been let down by Katie O'Briens on Greek Street. We booked one of their private hire areas on a busy Saturday night in December. Despite this they were attentive to our party at all times, responding quickly to requests such as turning on the air conditioning. They sent servers round with a card machine so we didn't have to queue at the bar. We order the gold package buffet and every aspect of it was delicious and there was plenty of food for all. Brilliant night and service. Thanks all at the Griffin.

Turkey and ham pie was delicious. The staff helpful and pub very clean. Came back later in the day fr a drink when it was very busy. Staff still very attentive.

We had our work Xmas do here, all of the staff were fab but special mention has to go to Jamie who was so friendly and a great representative for the pub!

Just had our Christmas Meal, 24 booked in, the venue and atmosphere was excellent, the staff were professional, helpful and friendly, both food and service was good. Everyone commented on how enjoyable the staff had made the meal.

Had our works do here on Thursday, all the staff were fab but Jamie was amazing, thankyou all 🎄 Merry Xmas

Went here for breakfast on a trip to Leeds. We had the full breakfast which was delicious, but far too much, should of ordered one between us and kept the cost down as was pricey.

Llamamos al grifo el domingo temprano por la noche para una bebida y algo de comer. El personal del bar era muy educado y había un ambiente agradable. La comida que tuvimos era muy agradable y su Amstel lager era bueno también.

Superb Sunday lunch, and the cherry amaretto semifreddo was delicious. Staff were all very polite and helpful. Will be back here again!

Rubbish avoid like the plague! Visit during a Christmas shopping trip and waited 2 hours for food. With no warning about long wait. Very frustrating will definitely not be revisiting and will be advertising anyone else not to either.

Nice pub near the city centre. Clean and nice decor. Food is OK, usual Greene King. Staff were excellent. Was less busy than a nearby competitor.

Was a quiz night and was a decent atmosphere. It was a cold snowy day so fairly quiet.

First time at this pub, quite a big pub. No real ciders on unfortunately, pretty good pub though. This pub has the fastest free wifi I’ve ever seen in a pub 88Mbps down/94Mbps up!

Decent pub, first time I've been in for a long time and it's been decorated nicely, good choice of drinks and plenty of comfortable seating.

The Customer service was very good and the atmosphere was very nice with very nice decorations but the only thing that wasn’t as good was the food as it was cold and not have the full ingredients but I still enjoyed it . Would come again though as I think it was because it was quite busy .

Order drinks Larger Alcohol Free Cider, guy did not listen gave me one with Alcohol in, 2 x Steak Sandwiches came on White Sliced bread, last time was baguette brown or white, steak was very nice shame about the bread.

Visited on the opening evening of the Griffin / Green King. Lovely service from both staff outside and inside the venue. The staff where very welcoming, particularly Lizzie who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Would fully recommend!

This pub was a life saver yesterday, we had a wonderful time there. The staff were warm and friendly just like Yorkshire people are it was just lovely. Bouncers on the door were helpful opening the doors for me as I walk with the aid of rolling walking frame. Didn't score the food as I didn't order any but the wonderful smell from the table at the side of me would have got me to take a look at the menu.

Went for the reopening after the refurbishment 1/11/24 Lovely staff and service, especially the young lad Jamie, always smiling and really friendly. Will definitely be returning

Saturday 28th Sept 5pm, as usual the Bankers Cat was rammed, so busy that we thought we'd give The Griffin a try next door. Plenty of space, took the table nearest the door, it was full of glasses & bottles that stayed there way too long considering it wasn't too busy. Picked up a menu, when I'd unglued my fingers from it we decided not to eat, I went to the toilets to wash my hands. OMG! trash and toilet a paper everywhere and what I hoped was a large pool of water on the floor....on the way out back to the bar I noticed how bad the maintenance is, stains and chips everywhere, just dirty. I know it's chain but somebody has to care? It makes the General Elliot or The Three Legs feel like Ibiza lounge bars,

One of the typical pubs where you can't go wrong. It has all the standard drinks you can request, fine atmosphere and best of all the food is good! I come over to this pub for a meal. Every time I've ordered food I have never been disappointed. I have added some photos of my order and can say I can recommend it after 10+ visits!

I paid £4.40 for a coke which was filled to the brim with ice. I was told that is how management instructs them to pour them - at least 3/4 of ice. I won't be back to Greene King now I know this. Better value to not be sober.

I went to the griffin on Saturday evening and they have great food I got the karaage which was amazing and the music is always flowing and 100% recommend if your in Leeds city centre

Staff were lovely, food was a little bit more expensive than local places, but was tasty. The soft drinks are extortionate. How can you justify nearly £6 for lemonade and blackcurrant? When wetherspoons are over £4 cheaper for a soft drink. That is theft clear and simple.

Fabulous pub. Great atmosphere. Very friendly staff, especially charming Sam. They show football games. Will be back.

Visited last weekend after celebrating my friends graduation, we had booked a table although there wasn’t many tables when we arrived so were able to choose where we sat. The two ladies on the bar were friendly and the drinks were lovely. Unfortunately the food was a bit of a let down, waited about 35 minutes for food and when it arrived it wasn’t overly warm, my steak was also over cooked and served with the wrong sides. However the manager on shift was really lovely about it and had a fresh one made. Really lovely decor and atmosphere would definitely visit for drinks again but would probably eat else where. Great selections of local beer and a great cocktail menu

I have to say as a long time Griffin member, the place feels liked it’s picked up for the better. The vibes today for the football were immaculate and I had the best time with the mates, best time we’ve all had in a long one! The staff held their own and were super friendly. Usually visit on Saturday afternoon

Really nice pub close to the train station. The young lad working was extremely polite. The quiz on the tv too kept us entertained. We didn’t really want to move because of the rain!

Well a day trip to Leeds, come across impressive huge pub just 5 minutes from the train station. Met by friendly staff who more happy to explain the process how to order food etc. food was great and just what was needed after a train journey. Vast selection of drinks.

Hidden gem in Leeds, great service from staff and the food is always great. 100% recommended.

Very nice food, very pleasant staff

Door staff rude to a point I felt threatened & I had just got out of a taxi with my family. The age range from 15 to 72 only the 4 of us, 2 female, 1 adult male & a 15 year old boy. We booked for a meal as we are visiting the city from Belfast & USA we wanted to enjoy a traditional English Pub meal whilst watching the football afterwards. No the doorman stop our teenager asked for ID our teenager being from America was confused at the fact he was called out, we explained yes he is under age here & in the US & he was with his Grandmother, and myself his aunt & would never allow him to drink alcohol, he then told us we would have to be out for 7pm, we arrived at 6.45pm I truly could not believe this. The bar staff & restaurant staff where as upset with him as we were. If this was the last place to eat, drink in Leeds avoid simple you can't get through the door as the door staff are RUDE & in my opinion not suitable for the job, forcing tourists in Leeds City Centre head to an other establishment, who where happy to welcome us in.
