Been for the monthly tapas this evening (first Thursday of every month) . And all I can say is WOW! Amazing food and amazing atmosphere. Staff are lovely, friendly and helpful! Amazing from start to finish!

Excellent quiz night, Play Your Cards Right and Bingo on a Tuesday - fed quality food for free and fantastic atmosphere…not to be missed!

One of very few good honest pubs left, foods good and the atmosphere is great with acts on every Saturday. plus, I don't think you'll find a better pint.

We went for Sunday lunch and we’re amazed at the transformation of the pub as it’s been a long time since we were in. We were served straight away even though it was busy. The dinner was lovely nice pieces of beef with roast pots mash and veg all piping hot and very tasty We were made very welcome well worth a visit we will be back

Fish and chips was lovely really good quality fisher and nice crispy batter the lamb shank with all the trimmings and potatoes where amazing! I’d recommend for a Sunday lunch definitely! It cost £28 for two mains and into todays prices that’s very reasonable they was plenty of food! Wine is wine in my opinion so nothing really to say about that!

I can't comment on the food as I only popped in for a couple of pre match drinks, service was great even though it was busy, sat outside as the weather was bright, full of football fans but everyone well behaved!

Always good for a pre match pint, even when packed they run the bar well

Great Lee's pub. Real ales on offer in excellent condition. Friendly staff and landlady. Didn't try food so cant comment.

Went for a few pints with friends, decently priced not to far from royton town centre if you wanted to go out later. Clean, tidy didn't looked run down like you typical local pub. Haven't scored the food because we didn't have any but if it anything to go off the rest of the experience can't see there being a fault with it.

Fabulous!!!! Went today for Sunday Dinner, Roast Beef or Turkey Large one £11, small £8.95 . The beef was so incredibly tender, with massive Yorkshire puddings, Roast potatoes, creamy mash carrots, broccoli and cauliflower cheese with lashings of homemade gravy. If that wasn't enough then there was homemade Whimberrry pie!! 😋 WOW, it was just like my mum used to make. A great selection of wines , my favourite was the New Zealand Sauvignon, and fantastic Manchester Craft lager. The food and drink offering here is too good to miss and Sunday lunch which is served until 6pm is far superior than anywhere else I have been. The pub has also had a makeover and looks fantastic.Well done to you all at the Greyhound.

Best Sunday roast dinner in a long time and the chocolate/orange cheesecake was a masterpiece 👌. Great friendly atmosphere and attentive staff.

Landlord is not family friendly. Some of his comments.. Doesn't like parents who don't look after their kids. Doesn't like balls. Will confiscate balls so kids are not tempted to play. Didn't want kids inside. Generally telling kids off for playing and having fun. Left after 1 hour of constantly being watched and told off. Such ashame. Perhaps should change this pub to no kids allowed.

Great evening -Saturday The Kings Coronation. Attentive staff, not too packed and good entertainment - singer on. Will definitely visit again.

Couldn't ask for more! After moving to the area we scoped out the nearest 3 pubs. After visiting the greyhound we haven't looked back. Paddy and Tracey are amazing, beer is well looked after which is backed by the 5* cask marque! The warm and friendly atmosphere is second to none, attracting patrons of all ages week in week out not to mention their quiz nights and live music/karaoke! They've started doing a Sunday lunch and looking forward to sampling this in the next few weeks. Keep up the great work and hope everyone gives it a go like we did!

Very large beer garden at rear fantastic on a sunny day. The staff are fantastic very helpful very happy! The pub I'd lovely inside too. Locals are all friendly.

Not been in here for a while. Refurbished to a high standard. JW Lees beers in great condition. Staff pleasant and efficient. Clean facilities. Good crowd in for a Sunday afternoon. Will definitely be visiting more often.

Lovely friendly staff made us feel very welcome, great pint, only reason for not the full 5 stars was a security guy outside claiming we havnt used the pub and was only there for the parking(we was in the pub 2 hours), he was ridiculously rude and made us feel rather uncomfortable, we were here with york city for the football a couple weeks back.

Visited the pub for pre-match drinks on a Saturday afternoon with family members from Royton, Nottingham, Newcastle and London. Great beer and very friendly staff. Excellent landlord made us feel very welcome in a traditional local pub.

Great local pub, beautiful well kept pint, new publicans are doing a exceptional job of making the place look smart. Can get a lot of people in on match days, the atmosphere is always friendly. You can't really go in there if you don't want to talk to anyone. 😃

Tracey and team can't do enough for their customers. Sit inside or out ( TV for footie) and a wonderful selection of red wine or gins. Beer is consistently great.

Good meeting place for Oldham Football fans to meet before a home game, good atmosphere and service quite quick even though it's busy. I wasn't impressed with the JW Lees beer, bit of an acquired taste.

Popped In For a drink in the beer garden a few week ago, it was lovely. Looks lovely now you've been tidying up and decorating, done a good job. Staff were lovely and really friendly. It's good to see the place open during the day and have seen it very busy at a Weekend since it was taken over. Decided to pop in for lunch with the hubby today, he wanted steak and the photos always look amazing. We got there Sunday lunch menu, that's fine love a good Sunday lunch. Staff were brilliant, friendly, welcoming polite. Was very quiet (only us and 2 gents having a drink). Starters were lovely, could possibly do with seasoning the soup but wouldn't complain about them. The Sunday dinner was dissapointing, it actually looked like it had been boiled, was kinda grey and a bit wet. Over cooked. Mash and soggy Yorkshire pudding that we'll I think we're frozen. Potatoes not to my liking how there done, but surprised me hubby didn't eat them. Nothing was seasoned and hubby said the veg was undercooked. That doesn't really bother me since I don't mind raw carrots and it made a nice change as more often than not veg is slightly overcooked everywhere. Also food needs seasoning. I have had a lot worse though. I was surprised hubby is not a fussy eater at all, and he point blank refused to eat it. (I ate veg). Waitress took the plates back to kitchen, explained problems (we could hear the conversation) his response "fair enough" kinda makes you feel like he knew it wasn't up to standard when he sent it out. Waitress came back "chef sends his apologies". They refunded mains from bill. Dissapointed, we were looking forward to it and photos of food since new owners has looked fab. We will try again at some point, always give someone benefit of the doubt could be an off day but probably visit at some other time of week.

Called in for a drink and decided to eat. Good food served and prepared by a young team. The waitress said she was 17? All the staff are new, so do not look at reviews more than 3 months old. The chef has a good imagination and has on offer a few twists on basic Northern food. Enjoyed the evening. Was well looked after and we are looking forward to the next visit. Got to try the chicken stew.

The Greyhound in Royton, went tonight for a local drink with food, good idea, good food with a feeling of wanting to do well by creating a pub with good food, good beer where local can meet up, chat and make friends. Big changes with a friendly young staff that can not do enough to please and make sure that you make this Pub/Eatery a place you will call your local as well as encouraging locals as well as travelers to eat drink and enjoy the friendly atmosphere of The Greyhound, commonly know to the local as The Fast Dog. Try it, we enjoyed it, but remember that this is a big transistion from The Old Greyhound to The New Greyhound. A great start and worth keeping an eye on. This is my TAKE but you must try it for yourself. Young staff work really hard constantly asking if you enjoyed your food to is there anything else we can do for you. We will be calling The Greyhound/Fast Dog our local.

Here for footy. Cracking little estate pub. Dead friendly. Limited choice of cask ales but would recommend none the less.

I have been to this pub quite a few times and always found friendly staff and good quality beer.The food has again always been exceptional and dare I say a little underpriced.I would gladly pay a bit more purely on the quality and quantity that is on every plate.This is a great local pub that does exceedingly good food and should not be missed.

Visited The Greyhound this week for a few drinks. The staff are really friendly, and the pub has a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Dogs are welcome, making it a perfect place to stop for a quick pint mid-walk! The food also looked and smelt amazing!
