The Greenhouse in King's Lynn and West Norfolk

The worst place I have ever been to. Not the first occasion it was diabolical. We had to ask to be served after sitting for 20 minutes with no-one coming over. Drinks then took an hour to come. Staff blamed the tills, I don’t think a till improves staff work ethic. Moved at the rate of a snail, no updates when food would arrive, seemingly just stood there whilst customers are left with no knowledge of what was happening. The food was left on the gantry for about half an hour going cold . Melted ice in the drinks where they’ve been sat for so long brought to the table. Staff continued to blame the tills which I expect would be stressful but should not prevent staff from being able to tend to customers and actually do their job? Food finally arrived and as predicted cold and has been sat for however long. Staff don’t seem to know what to do, how to communicate, resolve issues yet a lot of staff on shift. Absolutely awful service, awful food. Avoid at all costs.

Adam and the team opened the restaurant for us on a night outside their normal opening hours for a 50th Birthday Party - and going with The Greenhouse was the best decision we could have made! Adam was so helpful in planning the food and venue for the night, and there was plenty of waitresses, all who worked their socks off to make sure we had the smoothest dining experience possible even with nearly 50 of us! The food itself was incredible, much better than some of the other food options in the area and such a reasonable price for everyone, making it affordable and delicious! The venue itself is stunning, very classy. We just couldn’t have asked any more of the team and will definitely be dining here again in the future!

Disappointing visit today. It wasn't overly busy but service was slow. The waitress didn't know what ciders were available and during the time we were there 2 people received incorrect orders and the lady next to us returned her meal because the chicken wasn't cooked.

We had the Haddock and it was absolutely fantastic. Service was brilliant and the ambiance was really nice. Would recommend and certainly return.

Sunday lunch. Turkey available as well usual meats. Turkey was moist. Had a glass of wine which arrived with a lipstick mark on rim. Sent it back then had to chase for the substitute. Not enough staff. Food average did not think the turkey lunch was worth 19.50

Three of us visited today and all had different meals - Scampi, burger and sausage and mash. Each one was delicious and faultless. The staff were friendly and attentive, smartly dressed and a credit to the restaurant.

Just had the most fantastic afternoon tea here. The food was amazing and the staff fantastic. Would encourage everyone to give it a try. Will definitely be back. I have had afternoon tea at Harrods and this was just as good

Service very slow, poor and disorganised. Group of 6. Strangely asked if we wanted our starters as main meals, then asked if we wanted our starters at the same time as our main meals???? Sat with our finished starter plates empty in front of us for around ½ an hour. Asked for another bottle of water, girl brought it, looked at empty plates then just walked off!! Were there 1½ hours before main course arrived. One dessert didn't arrive. The whole waiting service was disjointed; nice girls, but either very inexperienced or under-trained or both! Not their fault, it felt like they had been thrown in at the deep end. Management might want to invest in their staff a bit, because although the food was OK, we probably wouldn't return.

Have been several times but breakfast this time was terrible scrambled egg on brown toast that had not been toasted and egg was cold. One piece replaced for me. My partners full breakfast was poor as sausages were tasteless and his toast was only toasted on one side and cost £14.95! Exactly the same breakfast in Sussex last weekend was £5 cheaper and 100% better. My breakfast was £3 more expensive. Hardly anyone else eating and no atmosphere.

No ice, the machine had broken down, tonic water, lemon but no ice. sandwich looked like the old railway sandwich's, curling at the edges. expensive for what it was. will NOT be returning.

Went to The Greenhouse, Norfolk for Mothers Day Sunday lunch . Pre booked our table which was so easy to do . On arrival there was a photographer there to take your photo if you wanted it taken . We did this as you never know with an elderly mother how many more memories you will have . A great special occasion extra which was thoughtful. Great atmosphere, tables had fresh vases of daffodils on them . Menu was very good, with lots of choices . Starters , mains and deserts. We opted to have a main and a desert . Waitress service was great . Drinks came quickly . Food came quickly , fresh, hot and well presented . Was so delicious. Large Yorkshire puddings. All homemade . Credit to the head chef Adam Cooper. Best Sunday lunch I’ve had out . No washing up for me . Will be returning for Sunday lunch in the future . Great to be able to meander through the garden centre afterwards… a little walk after that Sunday roast …. Fantastic

Went for Sunday lunch for mother’s day after hearing very positive things. I was extremely disappointed in the whole experience. From waiting over 30 minutes for drinks which arrived at 3 different times of which I’m unsure why it took so long as the restaurant was not very busy. The food was horrific and that is being kind. It was cold, dry and stale. We complained and the staff were apologetic and replaced the food. I’m sure this would have been a fresh dinner but it was exactly the same. Cold, dry and stale. We told them we couldn’t eat it as it was disgusting. When we left we were told to pay the full price for our drinks, I was disappointed in this as we would happily have paid if we had decent food. If anyone goes and has this experience do not drink your drinks and leave immediately. I will not return and I will not recommend to anyone. I feel let down by the management. I have shared my views on many different social media platforms as I never want anyone to be treat like we were.

Very good food at a reasonable price. Very welcoming staff and a very well stocked bar and sitting area. Make a day of it with the rest of the day in the garden centre and shop.

You need to read the reviews regarding the lack of service in the restaurant. Three of I visited for coffee and cakes. There was mostly young staff who seemed incapable of serving. We sat with menus waiting for around 15 minutes to be served when a waitress walked past to clear a table at the far end of the room. There were only about four tables occupied so common sense should suggest taking an order first. After another five minutes we left. Staff standing around is not going to bring money in which is surely why you are in business.

Every time we visit we are treated like family, we had the roast and it didn’t disappoint 10 out of 10 for the chef & staff. Eton mess all round for dessert, what a fantastic finish to a very tasty meal. Keep up the good work

The atmosphere was non-existent. The waitress was unprofessional and the food was average with a very expensive price tag! Wouldn’t go back. £16 for an average burger n chips.

Service was terrible Waitress showed us to our seat then ignored us. 25 minutes later after 2 other couples who arrived after us had been served we decided to leave. This is the second time this has happened to us. The first time 6 weeks ago on a Sunday we were seated and after 30 mins had to ask to place an order due to the wait was told there wasn't any roast potatoes left. After today's service we will not be returning to this restaurant two bad experiences is enough. Ruined our day out considering we drove 45 minutes to visit this place again. Very disappointed and unhappy.

On arrival service was poor the waitress were sloppy and unprofessional ,,needed extra training . Every aspect took so long from waiting for drinks to waiting for a spoon or milk for coffee. Food when arrived was average for the price , plates were not cleared till we asked them. Spoiled the birthday , We won’t be returning!

Had the best afternoon tea all round from smoked salmon sandwiches to home made scotch eggs and delicious scones and cakes For only £15 a person incredible value for money Looking forward to trying the new menu x

I came for a meal with friends, decided to try a different style cuisine. Staff were polite and friendly, asked for a substitute of chips instead of salad, not to keen on the rabbit stuff 😉 Food was very enjoyable and tasty! I enjoyed how it came out hot, the fact that it was different, the meat was juicy and tender. 😋🤤 100% recommend one of the burgers! 🍔 I’ll definitely be returning! Thanks!

What a great Christmas party night .On arrival we were offered a Bucks Fizz, Prosecco or Orange juice. Great welcome . Had a drink at the bar , then proceeded to our table . Great service . Very good waitresses . Food so tasty and well presented . Was looked after by waitresses who actually had a personality and who seemed to care . Great night all round . Those who didn’t book a Christmas party night really missed out. Great food , great service and a nice disco . A night to remember .

Met a friend for breakfast, neither of us had heard great reports about the place, but thought we would try & see for ourselves. Was taken aback by how lovely the place looks when you walk in, especially with the fantastic Xmas tree. We waited to be seated, as the sign said.. and we waited, and we waited, and we waited!! Two members of staff were milling around & talking to each other behind the bar, but totally ignored us! Eventually, without even looking at us one shouted "be with you in a minute" several minutes later, they weren't "with us"! After a total of 17mins being ignored, we gave up & walked out! Went to Arbuckles and had a lovely breakfast with excellent service!

Went for "curry night" ......wont go again. Whoever heard of serving a curry plus naan bread plus two very oily papadoms in the same bowl!!!?! . A sloppy mess is best description. Choice of curries for " curry night" was chicken or butter nut squash...
