The Green Man Welling & Sunset Restaurant in Bexley

This could be such a good pub… sadly it’s not family friendly. As per the previous reviews, the staff are very rude. The garden is great here and they have a children’s play area, but it shuts at 4pm. They have signs up as well saying children must be off the premises by a certain time. Unfortunately whilst there our children were shouted at by a lady behind the bar because they weren’t sitting down. Another lady came to collect our glasses before we were finished, when I said ‘would you like us to leave’. She said yes. Such a shame because of the garden - could be a great place for kids, but they don’t seem to want anyone there with a family. Go somewhere else is my advice - there are better places not far.

I attended this pub today with family found staff ahd landlord very rude this pub is not child friendly please be warned there's better in the area

A pleasant outdoor area, where children will be entertained. Inside, it is very much a traditional pub, which is no bad thing if you like that atmosphere, with a pool table, TV's and a decent bar. The food...however, for me, was underwhelming. The Tuna Panini, the burgers, and the fish were all served with chips. The good news is the chips are really tasty, but sadly, there were too few per plate to get excited about, and it just leaves you wanting more. The fish looked nice, and the Tuna Panini was cool....but the Burger was honestly the worst burger I've ever had from somewhere classes as a restaurant. So much so that I was unable to get past the halfway stage. Also, the sausages did not look nice either. It's a place I've driven past on occasion, and its also busy on hot weekends, but it must be due to outstanding garden area, because the food was not of a consistent value.

Nice family meal, Guv'nor and Mrs really pleasant, food great, not rushed in any way, very tasty, more of a summer venue for me as it's a walk that I can do without in bad weather but definitely one to visit if you don't have to drive and can sample the excellent beer as well

found this pub one sunny afternoon and absolutely loved it warm and friendly bar staff obviously full of locals but all friendly decent and salt of the earth, great kids play area and i think it was the landlord who seemed grumpy but not fooling anyone .
