Jumbo Chinese in Bexley

I've used Jumbos for many years. Chinese food is my favourite and this is the only place around Bexleyheath that I really rate. They use lots of different vegetables which really makes the dishes more interesting and tasty. They deliver VERY fast. Prices are reasonable. I don't go anywhere else these days. The other places have boring ingredients and the good never is as good.

I have used Jumbo for many many years, and I’m only writing this because it’s gone so badly downhill. Tonight I popped in for sweet & sour chicken balls and egg fried rice. The chicken balls were small - I mean tiny compared to how they used to be. The large egg fried rice wasn’t even full (probably 20% empty), and I couldn’t see any egg whatsoever. £10.60, and it was poor. It’s not the first time - last time I got special fried rice and had almost no “special”! I won’t be using them again, which is such as shame as I’ve been going there for getting on for 20 years.

The food was amazing and came piping hot. Food also came before expected arrival and the crab sticks are soooo good. I am very satisfied and the food was freshly fresh! :)

First time of using jumbo, well jumbo by name jumbo by portion size!! Recommend this take away, they delivered on time, not expensive and food was lovely, they didn’t have something on the menu that I wanted but were happy to make it up for me. Thanks jumbo I’ll be back.

Don't go anywhere near this place, unless you like hair in your dinner and bad customer service. Phoned Jumbo back to complain that I had found a long hair in my shredded beef to get told that 'We all make mistakes' and the owner/manager to then put the phone down on me. If they are happy to make these kind of mistakes I wonder what other mistakes they are happy to make. Will not be returning!

We had a birthday celebration and decided to try this takeaway. Wow, to our amazement, the food is simply delicious and delivered on time. The crispy duck and the curry is awesome !!! Thanks 😊

Disgusting! Would have put zero stars the food was ok, dont coming this place. i Order the mushroom beef too much water. also on the top is quite a lot oill . guys dont order stuff from here. the price is bit to Expensive

Ordered and collected food here last night. Ordered beef and black bean, crispy shredded beef and chilly salt squid. Containers were half empty. No flavouring at all in the beef and black bean even though I asked for extra spicy. Very disappointed and won’t be going back,

Totally the wrong food called them back to disguise the order and they put the phone down on me 3 times when the wrong order turned up it was cold had to put it in the microwave too get it hot i mite aswell cooked it myself never again will I use this place

The Jumbo is back! I had used them for a few years but was disappointed when they had a change of management. It wasn't the same! Went pass the shop yesterday and saw the original chefs and found out that the old Jumbo is back. Ordered today and great, the original magic is back. A bit of good news during the lockdown. Well done.

The old management is back post the first National lockdown!! Prior to that I stopped visiting them as the food was not I am used to. With the old management back, I am having Jumbo Takeway at an average of 2 times per week with an average spend of £35, so that I could have some for breakfast the next day. Strongly recommend this takeaway and for customers who, like me, have moved away from the takeaway due to prior experience, you might want to give it a try again as the old management is back!

We returned to Jumbo this evening after hearing their original chefs had returned. We were not disappointed as always - great service - delicious food - large portions - Welcome back Jumbo!!!!

This place obviously knows how to satisfy their clients. Regularly with a very kind approach. The food is affordably priced, always tasty and clean.

Ordered food on Friday evening. Usually order duck fried rice along with spare ribs and a few other things. Duck fried rice is usually the highlight of the order on the last 4 years we have Ben ordering from Jumbo. Food was delivered on time via Just eats but was so disgusting. Duck fried rice was smothered in soy sauce and very salty- rice looked old and re- heated. I had asks for extra spicy but none in the rice and about 8 pieces of duck in his rice. House special fried rice was also disgusting and saturated with salt. I called to complain to ask if they had changed chefs or management and they initially said no, I then called back and asked again and they admitted that they had changed management and chefs. Food ended up in the bin as was so vile. Highlight of the order were the prawn crackers. They need to get the old chef back!

Order arrived 20 minutes late. The whole meal was inedible. It appeared to have been cooked and then reheated! Every dish was over cooked and dry. We had to throw the order in the bin! We phoned to express our disappointment only to be told they weren’t worried! They would just tell the chef!!! No concern at all. Will not be using again although we have used Jumbo for many years.

Order range of foods to feed my family of 5. Ordering direct with shop. Great service. Food delivered quick and hot. Husband loved the ribs. Kids loved the rice and I had a little of everything. Would recommend.

They accept your order on uber eats and then cancel it after 10 minutes. You try and call and they don't answer their phone. Ordered in the past sweet and sour. Asked for no pineapple the food came with it. For all they know I could have an allergy. Food is OK but awful service. Avoid.

Ordered on a Saturday at 6pm, arrived at 8.20pm. Wasn't very nice, inedible ribs. Waste of money.

Great birthday treat......or not! Called to ask if they could cater for me as I do not eat seafood or egg. Yes! No problem! They said. Ordered 12 dishes, Food arrived and it was all full of egg, found a prawn, found a string of chicken. Called up a bit upset that they had been so careless and also that a few of the dishes tasted really, incredibly bad! The response? Ahh egg and seafood and chicken must have been a mistake and the other dishes are meant to taste like that! Makes you worry about the hygiene when tjere are bits of everything in vegetarian dishes!Originally refused any refund and not even an apology, tried to explain if i had an allergy I could have died- egg and seafood are serious. Eventually agreed to refund £9, ruined our birthday meal - worst takeaway I have ever had hands down! Customer service is disgusting, will never use again!

Disgusting! Would have put zero stars if possible! Found prawns and chicken in my vegetarian dishes, egg in the noodles after I explained I can't have egg. The restaurant have no concept of food safety and were not apologetic at all, packed the whole meal back up- £50 worth of takeaway, I would rather go without than eat what seems like scraps of leftovers sold off as fresh vegetarian, worst I've ever had. Also all of the water chestnuts were gone off, they gave us ketchup and noodles as an actual dish (really!) and the stir fried broccolli was soggy clumps of broccolli in a congealed globe of 'sauce'....and don't even ask for a refund! The customer service was non existent.

Had a delivery meal from here in the evening and it was very disappointing after a great lunch in nearby Orpington. Noodle dish rather bland, curry was oddly sweet. On the plus side they did decent chips and fried wonton.

food is lovely. delivery service is appalling. the female deliverer is very rude and very lazy " doesn't do stairs" has to delivered to us numerous times but claims she can't find our address and sits out side then claim its £10 to re deliver our order. been reported to restaurant but nothing is done

Placed an order using Uber Eats. The food was late, and then the driver refused to hand over the food unless we paid £2.50 because the restaurant gave her the incorrect address. My food was held hostage outside and after calling the restaurant, the driver drove the food away as she had other deliveries. The restaurant manager was extremely unhelpful and has refused to refund the order despite never getting a glimpse of the food, let alone eating it. I’m completely shocked at their poor customer service and attitude to paying customers. This place should be ashamed of themselves.

This evening me and my partner ordered from this restaurant we ordered through Uber eats. After waiting an hour an a half which was after our time slot I called and spoke to a lady on the phone. The lady on the phone said the driver had left 10 minutes ago this was at 7pm we ordered the food at 5.50. After waiting 20 minutes I called back again and she told me she would call the driver and see where he was. No one called me back to let me know the outcome, my partner then called and spoke to the same lady and again she told us she would call the delivery driver which she was already meant to of done. She then said he would be another 10 minutes due to traffic. As soon as I got off the phone he turned up at the door so she can not of spoken to him because he was at the door not 10 minutes away. The driver did not apologise say hello or goodbye. Once he had left we called back again and spoke to a manager and he offered us 10% which is a disgrace. After saying no we would like a refund he said ‘no deal’ as if we was bartering with him. Eventually the manager hung up on my partner this is the WORST service I have ever received and the worst food as I had to microwave the food because it was so cold.

Useless, left me waiting over an hr for a delivery ordered on just eat. Then then when I called it was clear they had clearly just forgotten... unprofessional... won't bother again.

Order regularly, had a delivery food was cold. Telephoned and told them and they rang me back and offered a discount when I rang to make an order they would not honour discount. Going elsewhere in future.

Ordered off of just eats where the rating is very good, we really struggle to find a good chinese but honestly . This was good, when I came on here to review I was shocked to see the poor ratings ! We ordered £60 worth mainly vegetarian dishes (half the family are veggies) and we all agreed it was very fresh and full of flavour and colour .. everyone of us had seconds, and it was also delivered in half an hour when it originally said up to an hour. The portion sizes are excellent and it was piping hot. We will definitely order again !

When staying at my Sons house ,we have tried a number of Chinese take-aways and I can say that this is the best we have had .We will use this Chinese again and delivery was on time.

Blandest Chinese I've had in a while

Disgusting excuse of a take away!! Ordered many times in the past, even recommended these jokers & now, because I had the audacity to call them to tell them they had forgotten an item from my order, they have blocked my number & now refuse to deliver to me!!! Avoid at all costs!!!

The most disgusting tasteless Chinese I have ever had!

Easily the best Chinese takeaway in the Bexley area. The BBQ ribs are tantalisingly good, never fail to deliver! Fairly generous portions for the noodles, cooked to a great standard. Also worth mentioning, the customer service is second to none. Built a wonderful rapport with the staff over the past year.

I’m picky about Chinese food but Jumbo seems to be the best... at least in Bexleyheath. Given a 3 star as it’s a bit on the pricey side for the quality/quantity.

We got expired chicken from the green curry we ordered. When we called, they were rude and refused to help. It was a bad experience sadly.

Bad experience of over cooked, under seasoned and badly made food Dry ribs, over cooked prawn balls (tasted like they had been cooked before and reheated), plastic chicken with a couple of cashews and loads of bamboo, prawn toasts that had been thrown together.When the complaint went in I was told there would be no refund unless the food was sent back exactly as it was delivered?How can you tell if something is wrong without tasting it?That policy is a cop out so they don’t have to take responsibility for bad cooking, the repercussions of disappointed customers or refunding people for their own mistakes. Completely unprofessional I got a voucher from Just Eat but nothing from Jumbo Grow up, you have a responsibility to your customers! We will not be darkening Jumbos door ever again so put that in your trunk...

Food, Chinese style. The best around for this style of food. I don't go anywhere else. Reduced to 2 stars. Oh dear. Things have changed. Ordered by phone. Got the price. £32.90, which I repeated back to them. So, went to collect with £32.90 in my hand, no more. I'm now told it's £42.90. They just can't speak properly. Not only that, the food was nowhere near it's normal good quality. It was 'old'. As if it had been sitting around for a long time.

I've ordered food from here 3 times and each time it has given me and my family food poisoning. I've learnt my lesson now. Never going to order from here again.

I'm really surprised by some of the bad reviews on here. Been using Jumbo for over 10 years and we've never had a bad meal out of here. Probably the best Chinese in the area. Old school BBQ sauce is something else!!!!

it was the worst takeaway ever , we were surprised the food was at the door step immediately after ordering , the food was tasteless, the spring rolls looked like something else tasted horrible, we threw away the food after a spoonful.i would not recommend anyone to waste their money.very disappointing

I have used them for the 17 years I have lived nearby and have always found their food to be first rate.

Was so bad that I was sick that day when I went in to complain that told me wasn't their problem and had food laying around that was the food they was going to cook that day

We been a customer for 18 years and never had a compliant. We order some food to be delivered and some of it was cold. We contacted Jumbo to raise this out of courtesy and the woman on the phone was completely rude and basically accused us of lying. We even tried to speak with the manager but this woman refused We will never use Jumbo again, its sad but can not tolerate appalling customer service.

After placing an order for delivery the order arrived incomplete, I phoned them back straight away to inform them but was told it was too far to come back and refused to send out the missing dishes,sorry but if your staff are unable to get an order correct then that's surely not my fault,staff are rude!!!! Definitely won't be ordering from here again
