Stumbled upon this place on a wonderfully sunny bike ride in March. As a veggie it’s usually cake or nothing at most cafes, but this place did a proper good eggs and avocado on toast, top notch coffee and the lovely lady even wrapped my scone up so I could save it for my ride home. There is space outside - a nice little sun trap Will definitely be back again soon

This place is a real gem, delicious food, very friendly staff and it's dog friendly too. The menu selection is great but even if it's coffee and cake you're looking for, you'll be spoilt for choice.

Wonderful cafe with super friendly staff and amazing cakes. It’s our go to place on our cycle rides but equally lovely if out walking or even arriving by car.

Lovely setting and friendly staff. Such a gem of a place. The effort and consideration that goes into sourcing the most ethical, local and organic ingredients is something they pride themselves on. Alongside making their dishes from scratch, this place is outstanding and the food and coffee we had was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend and we will be back 🙂

From the friendly greeting to the delicious cakes this little cafe is a 5* experience. Meat eaters don’t be put off by this vegetarian venue! The cakes are absolutely delicious, all home made and a super sized slice.

What a find this was after a river and canal circular walk. We and our Labrador received a wonderful welcome and were given time to browse the menu whilst drinks were served. We had only called in for coffee or tea and maybe a cake or a scone but…… one look at the menu and we were tempted to have a light lunch. We both chose the super salads from the specials board which offered a choice of toppings….. both chose ‘squeaky cheese’. Can’t call it halloumi because it’s made in Yorkshire. It was delicious. Teas and coffees were of good quality and service was excellent. As the name of the cafe suggests it is vegetarian/vegan but nevertheless offers a multitude of satisfying, fabulous and some unusual choices to suit everyone. Being vegetarian I had lots to choose from and my carnivore husband wasn’t disappointed either. Didn’t try the cakes but it took all my will power not to do so and I could see that they were popular and well received. Everything is freshly made/baked on the premises. Definitely recommend and will no doubt make several visits here in the future.

I was warmly welcomed on arrival at 1310hrs on a Saturday, and looked through the menu. I ordered a cheese and chutney wrap, which was delicious, and well-presented. My dessert was a slice of chocolate sponge, which was exceptionally tasty. I am looking forward to returning in the future; highly recommended.

Friendly local bar serving fine wine local beers, ciders and ales and guest beers and ales from around the U.K. excellent gin selection and Whiskeys too. Quiz night on Tuesday! Great for meeting friends and used often by cycling groups as they pass through! Opened in July/August 2022 and has served the community well. Dog friendly and children too. Recent addition is some Cheshire farm ice cream which is a favourite for the children during the hot weather. Well worth popping in for a pint of three and for the wine drinkers there is a good selection of fine wines.

Laura's effervescent charisma has been a huge loss to Handbridge since Meltdown's closure, but will no doubt be a giant gain to whatever comes next for the (former) Toastie Queen. I say former, as there's one final chance to taste her magic creations before the apron is hung up for good at fellow Chester indie scene star That Beer Place on Foregate St tomorrow, which I wouldn't miss for all the cheese in Cheshire...

Lovely spot on the canel, food & coffee were delicious but very pricey! I ordered the pork in a croissant, which was small but tasty! Would have liked the rest of the croissant! Husband said his was perfect. Coffee was great.
