It's really a simple review to write as it's absolutely excellent every time! Whenever they do a pop up, my wife & I get our order in straight away. I think it's the best food option in the area for choice and quality that is done with love and care. There's too many places around that just serve average or below average food. Green Goat stands way above everyone else as how it should be done. They have customers for life in us.

Met the Green Goat on Mach Market the guy on the stall is super friendly and informative and totally enthusiastic about his food. Happy to hand out tasters the smell alone had me reeled in, I opted for the Cubanos sandwich made amazing local produce and everything homemade pickles and all. They also offer an amazing range of veggie/vegan/gluten free dishes. I will look forward to my next visit soon and super excited that they will be serving at Barmouth festival this year.

I went to Machynlleth on market day which is on a Wednesday, I travelled on the Coastal train from Tal-y-Bont (I would urge you to take this ride absolutely wonderful) to Machynlleth and spent the next couple of hours just walking round the Town square and market. For the first time I decided to try street food and purchased food from a stall run by the Green Goat cafe what an absolute mind blower it was absolutely delicious I had to sit in the street to eat it and it was a little bit messy but this added to the food even more the gentleman who served me was a real character as well I do believe I shall be trying this way of eating again and at my age as well a real hoot.

The Green Goat crew were catering at our favorite festival last week and its the best food we've had at a festival hands down! We also had with us a 6 year old with multiple dietary restrictions and the crew went out of their way to find something he could eat. Can't recommend these people highly enough :D

Green Goat catered for our event, and the food was fabulous! They are easy going, but professional. Menu's are inspired, with local produce a priority. The food was presented beautifully and there was no problem serving 70 in one go. Thanks for Green Goat! Highly recommended.

The Green Goat Cafe have never failed to tempt me with their interesting menus, fair prices and use of local produce, I have recently eaten handmade gyoza, but have had the enjoyed delights of the caribbean, india and the mediteranian to name a few . It astonishes me that the quality and consistency is always spot on, I never been dissapointed. It is the best street food, infact best food ever! I can't wait to see these guys get a restaurant or cafe one day the food is truly worthy of it .

Great to see the wonderful Green Goat in a prominent new market space next to the town clock. The central position is exactly as it should be for a business that does such a credit to the market and the community. When I moved to Mach from the foodie heaven that is Edinburgh, I expected to miss my favourite restaurants. Little did I know that this small town is home to a tiny catering business that can apparently cook up an authentic taste of anywhere on the planet! That being said, their new winter menu of slow cooked meat in homemade rolls is truly to die for. I grew up in the middle of America where pork is one of the main agricultural products, but the Green Goat's 16 hour slow roasted pork roll (complete with a homemade fig and grape relish) is the best I have ever had. And the veggie options are unusually creative and equally as tempting. The only problem is choosing!!

I have just visited the El Sueno Existe festival for the first time after hearing about how amazing it was from friends and family I thought lets give mid Wales a go little did I know I would stumble upon this gem , the food was amazing homemade cakes, Plantanos Fritos , Plantanos con queso, Empanadas this place is head and shoulders above anything I have experienced at at a festival before catering for many dietary requirements (myself a celiac). A true taste experience I especially was a fan of the hot sauce , keep up the hard work guys pretty impressive .

Ate at their stall several times at a festival. Food was ok, tho quite expensive, but i thought the two women working there had a bit of an attitude problem. Funnily enough the two blokes were extra friendly - maybe trying to make up for their co workers. Easy to get stressed at an event like that, but it's not so much fun for the customers queuing up either.

The first time I visited Machynlleth, I was looking forward to trying the Green Goat based on reviews on this site, and gutted to find they were no longer running their roadside cafe. 18 months later I am living in Mach and the Green Goat have recently taken up a regular pitch on the weekly market.Well, all I can say is it was well worth the wait. First off, Claire has the best understanding of Mexican food that I have yet come across in the UK. I was shocked and delighted to find authentic tamales in Midwales!!! But since then I have sampled their version of Lebanese kibbeh, an ambrosial fresh watermelon juice, various tacos, delicious cakes, bakes and cookies (look out for the best Bakewell tarts ever) and Peter's delicious artisan bread - and all of it has exceeded expectations. We are truly lucky, in such a rural area, to have a few shining local "food heroes". Claire and Peter of the Green Goat are two of the very best.

We used to love breakfasting on Huevas Rancheros in the caravan cafe, then made a special trip to Mach Comedy Fest NOT for the laughs but for Gorgeous Green Goat supper.. We even went out into the wilds of West Wales for one of their pop up restaurants. Now.... YIPPPEEEE they're selling their wares on Mach Market hurrah! Just purely delicious food - beautifully prepared; utterly delicious and always satisfying. They also make scrumptious cakes and the very best bread. Do yourself a favour and treat yourselves to a Green Goat lunch.....I will eat my shoes if you aren't completely thrilled with it!

Worry not if you were disappointed to see that the cafe in a mobile home outside Machynlleth had closed. The Green Goat Cafe couple instead now have a stall at the market on Wednesdays. The food is simply wonderful and there's always a vegan/vegetarian option too. One week it may be Mexican, the next Lebanese, they're always changing. But whatever cuisine they do, the results are always totally fresh and delicious. Do try it. They do outside catering too (I'm trying to think of an excuse...) and will be at the Aberdovey Food Festival this August.

Don't be misled by the outward appearance of a rickety mobile home in a layby. This place is awesome. The food puts most other eateries to shame and the surroundings just add to the experience. You won't find cheap ingredients dripping in grease but rather well thought out flavoursome meals at very good prices. Go now!

On the long haul from South Wales to Scotland our I-spy book of slow moving traffic was full before we had covered 2 counties. We already knew that we had missed the 18:00 ferry from Oban and it was only 9am. Dejected, and a little stressed we diverted via Machynlleth, just to get away from the convoy of lorries. Our luck then took a dramatic change as we pulled into the Green Goat Cafe. Our amiable host prepared a breakfast of home made tortillias stuffed with slow roast smoked pork, tasty refried beans and crunchy exotic leaves topped with his secret recipe BBQ sauce. WOW. I have traveled the world over and have rarely had such fine and authentic flavours. All this was local and fresh with lashings of that magic ingredient...... Love. Undoubtedly the best roadside cafe I have eaten at in the UK and for a price that would only get you a starter in most pubs.My future trips through Wales will be planned around the Green Goat Cafe. Get there before it gets packed out.

Been here a couple of times now and had excellent food on both occasions. The cooked breakfast is fantastic- the bacon alone worth coming back for. The main meals are also really interesting and - despite the low tech setting- cooked to a better standard than many restaurants. Will definitely be coming back when next in this beautiful part of the world.

What a fab place. Great menu and fantastic value for money. We stopped off on the way home from North Wales...and so glad we did. We had a chickpea burger with such a tasty fresh salad and salsa. Yum!! We also ordered (local supplied meat ) burger with salad, authentic style mexican fried egg tortillas...scrambled egg mixed with yummy things in mini corn tortillas was a big hit with my boys. To finish off we had homemade chocolate brownies and flapjacks...double yum..tasted so homely...and free refills for hot drinks. The menu is interesting, varied and priced at about £5 for a heartwarming, delicious, tasty, oh so healthy and good for you meal...is a bargain!I would recommend anyone to visit this..for a meal or for the lovely cakes. Friendly efficient service...it's really something different. It would be...it's in a bright green caravan!

HiHaving found nowhere to eat in Mach in a Thursady afternoon stopped at this cafe on the way back home and was very pleasantly surprised. extremely helpful owner, even gave us tips for catching molluscs on the beach back home in Borth! Lovely homemade apple pie, scored a 10/10 from my son! Only slight downside was no non fizzy drinks for kids other than water, put this down to it not being quite the season yet!definitely back for another breakfast trip as we love the terrace cured bacon on the way to a walk in the forest.
