Stopped at The Green in Haddington for lunch and a drink. A friendly welcome, great service, nice surroundings and good food! The food was great - really tasty besides being really well priced. Will definitely stop by again!

We drove through Haddington and stopped off to have a walk around. It’s a lovely market town. We asked for a recommendation for a pub lunch and were told to give The Green a try. We were not disappointed..so thanks again to the lady who gave us the tip! My partner had the fish and chips and said it was amazing. I had the Cajun chicken loaded fries. So delicious, good portions. They had a great selection of cocktails so I gave the Passion Fruit Martini a go. So good! Staff were so helpful and friendly, service was quick and all COVID precautions were taken. We even got some cake shakes to go as recommended by the bar staff to enjoy on our walk by the river. Total indulgence! Anytime we are back in East Lothian we will definitely stop by The Green!

Lovely food, admired the effort that’s gone into setting up the beer garden. Felt very chilled in spite of all the additional sanitising etc - well done to all the staff! Delighted to be able to support our local pub - keep up the great work! x

Nice Restaurant but upstairs was absolutely freezing, not a good start. Meals all came together and the fish was lovely but the roast dinners were cold and we had to send back the macaroni because it was also cold.

I went out to Haddington today on a whim and popped into The Green for lunch before heading back to the city. It has a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, the music was all throwback tunes, and the service was excellent. The food was hot, fast, and tasty. Good-sized portions and nicely presented. Really enjoyed my meal. Will visit again.

Have been a few times and always enjoyed however I visited the green yesterday with my 2 kids and mum and was a little disappointed with the food. My fish the batter on underside was soggy and a little greasy. Natchos for the kids didn't come out with melted cheese (I did say to the server who explained why this was and got it melted for us) the kids also had the breaded chicken which I would not let them eat as it was swimming in grease. I brought this up with our server who did take it off the bill. I was just left a little disappointed as this is not the usual standard. I also found that it was extremely cold in the restaurant aswell. We will return again and hope this was just a one off.

Popped in tonight for a quick impromptu dinner. So glad we did. We are both veggie and well used to the usual poor veggie offering of macaroni cheese as standard. We were pleasantly surprised by the menu. We both went for different vegan flatbread and were not disappointed. So lovely and huge portions. We noticed they do a Sunday roast and enquired about veggie options. The waitress went off to check and confirmed that they could do a veggie option which is fab. We will be sure to ring ahead to give chef notice but look forward to Sunday roast soon.

During our 3 days in Haddington we ate at The Green twice. So delicious. My converter for charging my phone stopped working during our visit, and the owners let me have their converter. So kind. The food is great, and the service is so kind and accommodating. Can’t recommend The Green enough!

After looking at their Instagram page and lots of fab pics we put a visit on our must do list . We went on a Sunday and I ordered the Sunday roast. The gravy was like water and no flavour . The roast beef was tough and lacked flavour . The vegetables were perfectly cooked and it come with a large Yorkshire pudding. Hubby was more limited on choice as they had very little gluten free. He opted for the chicken burger ( no bun) . Chicken was well cooked . He asked if they had any gluten free beer which we were told no . But when we were paying / leaving hubby spotted bottles gf beer . Maybe some staff training is required as they didn't seem to be on it at all.

With 4 children under 4 in tow, we thought we'd catch up for coffee. The Green was recommended and did not disappoint.Fantastic children's play area with a great selection of toys and touch screen activities.Although we only planned coffee, the lunch specials board was too hard to resist. The roast chicken with haggis mash, asparagus and blue cheese sauce was delicious and satisfying - well worth the money! One of the group had smoked mackerel and fennel salad. Again, a good portion and yummy - modern salad and locally sourced whole fillet of fish.Service was quick. Venue lovely and modern, but with the charm of the historic building remaining.Deffinately will be back!

Having seen the change of name and management, I thought I would pop into The Green for dinner with my son. We both ordered fish and chips, and were very impressed with the quality and quantity of the food. The staff were very pleasant, and I'll definitely be visiting again.

I went to The Green which has recently opened with my two young boys and my wife for some supper. We liked the fact it had a children’s play area and is very convenient for us. We all went for burgers which were large and the kids burgers were the same size as the adult ones which was good. Whilst I was putting my side salad in my burger I found a very much alive slater. I quietly bought this to the attention of the staff including what I think was the manger and I was joked with that at least the salad is fresh. My plate was take to the kitchen where I followed it, and asked for them not to chuck my burger but just remove the woodlouse salad, as I had two kids and didn’t have time to wait and also the burger was fine. I am not squeamish about things like that and I didn’t make a fuss, but when it came to the bill nothing was taken off and on our way out we walked past all the staff who knew and not one even said sorry! A simple sorry and maybe an offer to take my burger off the bill and I wouldn’t be typing this right now.

We called in because of a recommendation, and it was worth the visit. The view was beautiful - it is in a shipping container that has had windows put in, and it overlooks the sea and Bass Rock. The staff were nice, and when i mentioned needing a cushion due to back issues, they helped accommodate me really well, and it was greatly appreciated. The food was nice and came in good time

We visited Lucas on Sun 25 Aug and 30 Aug frequently attend here on both occasions I had to return my main course as they were both barely warm 1 was pizza the other mushroom pasta the waitress was apologetic and said this would get heated up in the microwave. Another couple who were sitting at the next table had to wait an eternity for their meals we had our main course & our dessert before the couples meal arrived as they had already asked waitress where it was and was told kitchen was busy the couple had been more than patient. I am unsure if the chef has been changed the food seems to be not to the usual standard. Not once has the waitresses when having your meal if everything is ok! This should come as standard.. very disappointed. Therefore after another disappointing visit today it will be sone considerable tine or not at all when we will be back.

The Crown and Kitchen in East Linton had good trip advisor reviews, so we decided to stay for 1 night on our journey to eastern Scotland. Although there is no car park, there was plenty of on street unlimited parking near to the Inn. All of the staff were friendly and welcoming, and we were shown to our beautiful contemporary room by a very helpful member of staff. Rooms are next door to the bar area, and so quiet. There was a wide choice of dishes for dinner, including fish and vegetarian options. Breakfast was very good. There were fresh berries and yoghurt and a range of cereals, as well as cooked options. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, and the whole place was well cared for, light and welcoming. We will stay again when we are in the area, and can recommend it without hesitation.

Passed this Cafe several times and always wanted to give it a try, definitely be the first and last, was a bit surprised to see no prices on display but ordered 2 breakfast rolls 2 coffees and scones anyway, the price at the time I thought was rather steep but just let it go, but just been on my online banking and noticed had been charged even more than was told , just does not justify at all what was bought and the quality did not justify the price either have tasted better, very disappointing

Excellent coffee ground and prepared by folk who clearly know their beans. Quirky stylish interior and courtyard outside area. Great snacks.
