The Greedy Greek Del in Sheffield

Provided food for our party for around 35 people. Food went down really well and lots of compliments about the chicken kebabs and the pork gyros. Definitely recommend them.

Order a main and you get no sides. Just the main that is all. Very disappointing. Very expensive for the what you get. I wouldn't bother for the price

We went for a take out to cook for dinner and the service was amazing!! The staff helped us choose a Mezzi including stuffed vine leaves, kalimata olives, Greek meatballs, Ceftalia, Greek salad, Kleftiko and dips. All were absolutely fabulous. Thanks so much. We will certainly return soon. Highly recommended.

it's a very good place. We live not far away and use it with great pleasure. The food is very tasty. Service is good, including delivery. The stuff is friendly and atmostphere is cozy. We do recommend this place!

Staff were pleasant enough but that's about it. The still water @ £2:00 is just a plastic bottle of 20p Costco water, the falafel isn't even home made, it's "Gosh" , the branded tubs can be seen under the counter. If you're okay with that (I'm not) then sure, go ahead and eat there but I will not be returning.

We went here today and was so upset when we realized that they used bought in falafel by Gosh. Come on guys you're meant to be Greek, make your own falafel. Olives were ok but over priced and water, from Costco had a 1000% mark up. Won't be going again I'm afraid 😣

Wow. One Friday I was wandering round Sharrow Vale and thought I would pop in. Denis helped me buy the best tea for the family ever. So very very good. This week we bought off their own app. It was a bit cheaper than just eat and the fuller menu. And and they delivered dead fast. Thanks so much guys. We all love your food.

We stopped here for lunch whilst passing and had a chicken and pork gyros each and shared a portion of oregano chips. The portions were massive and we couldn't manage all the chips. The gyros had loads of meat and was divine. Lovely friendly staff and we sat outside in the October sunshine which was lovely! We shall be back soon!

It cost £10 each and had about 2 tablespoons of gyros and 'half a slice' of kofta which were both barely warm. This was placed on top of a poor salad. My wife had the chicken skewer which was stone cold (as in fridge temperature). There was also a wait of 20 minutes for the food so I would have thought they could have at least heated it up in that time. Avoid like the plague.

The least impressive Greek restaurant I've been to. For the price, this is not what you would expect. Service is nice but the owner doesnt give anything away for the price you pay. Reused disposable plastic cups on the table, and I suspected microwaved or at the very least reheated, portions of food (for the sit in food like the Kleftiko). Dont me get started on the salads and sides, just read the other reviews you'll get the point. I think the wraps are good here though, it seems to be what everyone gets, and it seems they're actually cooked on the grill. Everything else sit in was nowhere near the standard you get in other Greek restaurants, let alone Greece. It seems like they are not passionate at all and purely interested in saving pennies. This seems to be reflected exactly on what other reviews are saying.

One of the best Greek food I've eaten. Even better than in Greece itself. Everything cooked to perfection, solid portions, Greek salad with quarter of tomato's, loads of feta cheese and all. Thank you very much will defo order again

Very poor value for money, why are you charging £13 for meat, wilting iceberg lettuce (not even a proper Greek salad) and ONE PITTA? No chips are included which are traditional for soulvaki? Do not try here, waste of your money. I can't believe the audacity to charge £15 to eat this meal inside and £1.50 for each extra pitta.

Ordered a spread of dishes and loved them all! Dessert (the galaktoboureko) especially !!! Great service and a lovely atmosphere, would eat here againa and again. Thank you !

Probably the worst plate of food I have ever been served. Chicken Olympus was disgusting barely tepid looked like a plate of vomit. Girlfriend had pork gyros that too was awful ,beggars belief when owner came up with this and that excuse. Will never return there.

Special review today. We've never had this a poor service meal & experience before. For many years I've on off used Greedy greek but no more. Food was sooo bad (cold rubber cheese with unfresh salad and dry bread.. don't get me started on the meats), order also sooo wrong and when i asked them to check was both condescending pretty rude back and made us feel like it was our fault (we had been overly clear when ordering). Truth GgDeli, you had to opportunity to put this right at the time but just made things worse. To all that may be reading this, as you can see from my other reviews, i use this service generally to call out and praise local companies who deserve the credit. Today's experience was the worst since service I've had since the 90's.

Just ordered from here. One of the worst meals have ever ordered. Suspiciously fast and absolutely nothing like a proper greek grilled skewer. Microwaved in a plastic box and straight in the bin. Avoid. Never again

Had lamb and chicken wraps and they were reasonably tasty, a bit light on meat and not very evenly distributed, and it was fine. Nothing to rave about, but fine.

Popped in to get wife a spanacopita after work unfortunately I don't think I'll be doing it again food was defiantly not worth the price 17 pounds for 2 pieces of spanacopita and a tzatziki ,it's a shame as it used to be amazing

Reasonable food, but bad value for money. The quality of the ingredients is poor for what they are charging. Rather disappointed. They were very good value when opened around 18 years ago, but doubled their prices after a few years.

Unfortunately we had the worst gyros I’ve ever had from here. I ordered 1 meatball wrap and 2 pork and chicken gyros and chips to take away. Firstly the meatball wrap only had one medium meatball on it but in half , very disappointing for the price , then when Opened my gyros visually it looked yummy I was excited for the taste sensation … until I started to eat it … it was SO SO Salty !!! Like they’d put more salt on the meat so you couldn’t taste the poor quality , the meat itself was poor quality and mainly just fatty bits and so chewy (in a bad way ) , and it was just a waste - it all went in the bin (as did my mums as she didn’t like hers either ) it was a complete waste of 24 quid … this place had such a good reputation … and it used to be nice … but I’m off to crookes for Greek food from now on … Very disappointing …. Wish I could get a refund on it it was that bad !

I came here last about 2 years ago, in 2020. Things have changed since then obviously, but with the Greedy Greek, things only got better! I came here on Monday after Synagogue (it's closeby) and it is so much better than I remembered before, and I was a big fan back then too! I'll definitely be eating here again soon 100%

Nice food but we ordered 2 vegan falafel wraps one with onion one without. Both came with onion and one came with what I'm pretty sure was cows milk Greek yoghurt. Didnt notice until we started eating. Be careful if you have allergies

Absolutely appalled that they don’t allow guide dogs in the restaurant! Had booked to go with friends & was told we could only sit outside! There is plenty of room inside. Was really looking forward to going as the food looks fantastic but I cannot support a business that doesn’t treat their customers equally.

After walking by many times and wanting to stop in for food i finally went in yesterday with my family. We shared a vegetarian mixed platter and a spinach and feta pie which was the perfect amount of food and extremely tasty. The place has a very authentic feel with pleasant music and the owner outside greeting all his guests, he clearly has a good relationship with the community. Overall i loved it here and will definitely stop by again soon!

If there was a 0 star rating mine would be -1 the food was cold and I’m drinking water now I feel so sick I found hairs and it was extremely expensive for what I ordered I did not have a full meal I had a pastry that cost nearly £10 rip off DO NOT EAT HERE!!! Should of gone to greggs🙃

Food is just consistently awesome

The food is not to bad. But just they give the pita gyro every time as they like, Last time they give us pita gyro without chips and asked us to pay extra if we wanted chips. I never seen a pita gyro in my life to be without chips. So disappointed and I will never go again to this fast food.

This place… is hilarious. My husband bought me a chicken wrap which smelled and looked delicious. It had a grand total of three pieces of chicken and two big bulbs of red onion that was placed there as if to seem like pieces of chicken. So disappointing! Not going back— so cheap!

Having just returned from a two week Greek island trip, the craving for Greek food was real! A quick stop by the Greedy Greek was needed and a lovely Chicken Souvlaki... definitely one of the best Greek dining options in Sheffield.

Shocking food . We ordered by mistake (instead from one of the similar names having restaurant .Food there always amazing so was looking forward to it ). When it arrived I could not believe what I see and then I checked my order.. Oh..greedy greek ... Gyros wrap- worst I've ever had . When my husband saw his meal thought it was a joke ! 6 small pieces of chicken ,salad and a piece of bread for 12 pounds?! ( no wonder it's called Greedy Greek huh). Soulless and bland food. Presentation -probably would serve it in a more appealing way to your dogs. If it would not have been take away the food would have sent back . Sorry Greedy Greek ,really not great .

The most delicious wrap with falafel, halloumi cheese and more, no photo hadn't time just wanted to tuck in.

Unfortunately the falafel wrap we ordered was very bland. We recieved the wrong order with tzatziki and specifically ordered the vegan wrap. This had just happened to the person at the next table five minutes before we got our food and it was the same mistake.

Holy f**k. This is *the best* takeaway I've ever had. We've eaten from here for years and never had a dish which was anything other than perfect. This was my late father's favourite places to eat from and I can see why. Chicken Olympos. Beautiful soft chicken with a thick and tasty sauce. Lamb Kelefteo. The most tender lamb in a rich tomato sauce with melted feta on top. Pork gyros meal. More crispy pork than you can shake a stick at. Crispy pitta and fresh sauces. It's impossible to choose a favourite dish from this evening, or from what we've had over the years.

Ordered a risotto and what appeared was what looked like a bowl of rice casserole. Inedible and they charged £13. Coffee was awful too. I think this place charges way above its value. Much better eateries nearby.

We love Greedy Greek, it’s definitely a fave of ours, however we do feel as though Dennis the owner changes the prices quite frequently. Also, for some reason they find it very difficult to get orders completely correct. Multiple times I have ordered a gyros with no onions and there are onions, my friend ordered one with no tomatoes, and there were tomatoes. Today I ordered a pork and halloumi wrap with no onions - they got the no onions correct on this occasion but I didn’t get halloumi. If I was in the restaurant it wouldn’t be a problem but we collected it and so to make a visit back to just get halloumi would be ridiculous. Please ask your staff to work on getting orders correct, or ask the person taking orders to write it down properly.

Very delicious food and very much like traditional Greek food. They now have opened the upstairs again so you can sit in (always good for cold days in January). The service was very good and they had traditional Greek music on. I had the pork gyros which is definitely one of my favourite dishes (photo shows this dish).

Popped in here on Monday and I must admit it was great. Sat outside in the sun, nice tasty food and friendly staff. I'm normally not a fan of overly spiced foods, but this was just right. My wife and I had a pitta wrap and they were both absolutely spot on. Yes they were a bit messy to eat straight away, but that just added to the fun! I think we'll be returning on our next day off.

I ordered a wrap from this take away yesterday 2nd November 2021 and wasn't impressed whatsoever, actually I was disgusted! It felt heavy and thought this feels good till I opened the package and the whole sandwich was soggy, it was drowning in sauce, and everything was drowned in sauce. I was looking for the chicken and found what I thought it was chicken but it was a ball of onions. I ended up throwing it away as after a few bits I just felt sick! No more take away from there for me.

My partner got a chicken and pork wrap, containing of a wrap with a bag of salad and a super tiny strip of chicken and another tiny strip of pork. Not sure why they call it “chicken and pork wrap”, though. They are indeed greedy, cheating with the food.

We decided to stop by and grab some takeaway to eat in the park. Two wraps - lamb kofta and a halloumi and sweet pakora. Both enormous, delicious and made really quickly. Don't know why people are on here complaining about greasy chips and poor coffee. It's a Greek place so maybe order the Greek food for best results.

A wonderful sunny evening, an amazing spot for a quick coffee on the way home in the early evening sun, yet it disappointed. This Greek Deli-Restaurant has a very good reputation and I haven't eaten here before, but will probably not order an after-dinner coffee when I do. I was passing, no plans to eat and it not a coffee shop when all said, but with an abundance of coffee choice in the area, I would have hoped for something to entice me back. I cannot be certain, but the coffee tasted like instant, whilst the young waiter said not, I did not find any coffee grinds at the bottom of the cup. You could expect plenty of coffee grounds in Greek Coffee per say, but what I am certain of is that I cannot recall being so disappointed with a cup of coffee. I love Greek food and I have been to that amazing country several times. I really would like to come back to the Greedy Greek and sample the food which looks very enticing. There are many 5-star reviews for this venue, but there are a few 1-stars, and whilst I should eat here before giving a poor review, I will give three stars overall, based on four stars for cleanliness, staff friendliness and atmosphere / location, but just one star for the coffee.

Had a takeaway from GG, I have had a few meals there in the past and but this was the first time I had done takeaway. I went in person to place the order and the bill came to £155, £14 was for 2xgiro meals I took away with me, so the bill for my takeaway was £140, this was for 6 people. I thought it a little steep but by then I was committed and so paid the bill and left. Delivery was to be to my home on Friday 6th August. It was delivered and was 1 bag short, this was not realised until 20 mins or so after the delivery person had gone. So I called GG and was told when the guy got back to them they would give him the omitted food and send him back, I explained that I lived 25 mins away so not much point doing that, by the time it would arrive we would have eaten, simply refund me for what I have not had. The guy said he was not authorised to do this but would get someone to call me, when they called me they basically accused me of either lying or being mistaken, and they would not refund my money, I was taken aback as I had complained very civilly about my missing food but then was made to feel that somehow it was my fault. It was agreed the owner would call me back, he did not but instead sent me a text which I didn’t see until the following day when I called him, when we spoke he was exactly the same, stating I could come down there and see their videos of it being put in the car, it had left their premises. He did acknowledge that the items I described as missing would have all been in the same bag, it was clear to me that this was almost certainly delivered by accident to someone else. Frankly I was a bit taken aback, mistakes happen and sometimes takeaways get mixed up etc and if that happens a phone call always sorts it out. Ultimately, I had to accept that he would email me a credit note for the items missed off the order, so I texted him my email address as agreed, that was Saturday 7th August, today is 10th August. I’m pretty sure I’m not getting a credit note. (I’ve checked junk mail etc) So to recap: 1. Food was expensive 2. Some of it didn’t arrive 3. The stuff we got was only average and wasn’t generous 4. We got nothing extra (obviously this is always at the discretion of the takeaway) but with a £140 bill some extra odds and ends would have been nice 5. Greedy Greek were unhelpful and basically accused me of lying 6. I am still probably £20 out of pocket for food we never received Basically, I think the Greedy Greek has lost its way, it has itself become Greedy with average food, high prices and poor customer service all of which mean we won’t be going back anytime soon. Years ago, when they opened they were basically the only option for Greek food, they are not now there are loads of other Greek restaurants in Sheffield, I would advise you to look on tripadvisor and try those first.

Really not impressed with the Pork Gyros meal. Not even a few chips for a start. Everything coming separate so its impossible to takeaway unless you have your own plate or taking it home. Pre prepared salad in plastic tubs full of horrible salad juice at the bottom. Meat was warmed up in a microwave so just fatty and rubbery. Big disappointment

Friendly service at the table currently in the door way due to restrictions. The gyros is lovely from here too (though could do with some chips included) bit they are available as a standalone chip portion. The chili olives are awesome!

Tried with restaurant with the takeaway option due to the Covid restrictions. I got the wrap with lamb , halloumi and tzatziki, the portion was massive and very tasteful. Pitta bread was awesome. Overall the price was cheap too.

Had the Traditional pork gyros wrap and it was absolutely delicious! the portion size are generous and the tzatziki was phenomenal! ....I definitely recommend this beautiful place!

By far the best souvlaki that I have tried in the UK!! I loved the combination of cheesesalad and tzatziki!!!! The chicken was in big pieces, juicy and great quality! I highly recommend it!!!

Was recommended from a friend and it didn't dissapoint, I got the Pork and chicken Gyros, was amazing. Also the Halloumi bites are definitely worth a try, will definitely re visit.

The food is amazing every time but there's always *something* wrong with our order. A piece is missing, it was delivered late, etc. Tonight we ordered for delivery at 8pm and it turned up lukewarm at 7:30pm, good job we were home!

Real Greek's would be insulted! The spinach and feta samosas were so salty they were inedible 🤮 The chips were bland and absolutely covered in what im guessing was schwartz dried Italian herbs 🌿 The halloumi was more salt than halloumi and the chicken in the chicken wrap was a dry, charcoal disaster. 😔😪 The baklava was okay but could've done with some pistachio or almonds on them

Awful takeaway very disappointed. 3 very greasy and cold kebabs. Chips were not fresh had been Re heated at at £3 a bag that is unacceptable. Ordered a main pork gyros also, nearly double price of the kabab and they forgot the pitta bread which is whole point of a kebab, double price of the wrap so expected chips and there weren't any. Also ordered a chicken olympus, I love feta but felt like I was eating a bowl of salt, again this was a moan course and came with no salad, no chips, no rice. This isn't a meal you can eat on its own and for the price would definitely expect some sides £46 for a cold, greasy very understated takeaway.

Just spent £25 and it’s all gone in the bin. Stale manky chips, chewy stale halloumi, old stale salad and greasy pastry. This was my first time and last. This will go down as the worst Greek food I’ve ever had and I eat a lot of it. Avoid!!

Never tried this before and should have done some research. Every dish was just greasy, chips tasted re fried, salad was ok. Pitta breads far too small. Not very nice, went in the bin. Won’t be back.

Absolutley disgusting , spent £17 , for my meal working from home , and the restraunt sent warmed up meal and what seemed like re fried chips . Called to complain and excuse was over cooked well when they look at the food coming out as they place in trays or bags to send the customers OBVIOUSLY they see this and think yeah we will send our customers that !. would not send replacement but offered a refund for the chips when i paid in cash ?? . disgusting lost a customer i even placed on the just eat ticket PLEASE FRESH CHIPS as this is not the first timme when ordering near opening time that they seem to try and sell re fried chips fro[m the day before ??

This was the first Greek food I ever tried, nearly 20 years ago and my kids tried about 6 weeks ago. I have tried other restaurants but I keep coming back here. My favourite food in Sheffield!!

Wraps are always delicious. Was lovely for them to go above and beyond for my partner who had to spend his birthday alone because of lockdown - it put a big smile on our faces. Thank you!
