Really enjoyed this place. The food was delicious. The staff were so attentive and friendly.

My favourite thai restaurant! The food is so delicious, I don’t live locally anymore so anytime I’m anywhere near I have to go here for a meal. Last time I went I had the sweetcorn fritters, tofu red curry and shared a pad thai, it was really great. Wish they could deliver to the Cotswolds!! The staff are also really friendly and helpful. It’s a great place for lunch as they have a lovely room that’s all sun lit with beautiful decorations. In the evening it’s romantic and atmospheric, great for a date or dinner with friends, particularly with their cocktails. Would definitely recommend!

We had the pleasure of going to the Greedy Elephant for lunch today. Me, my wife and our baby daughter went. Where do i begin? So the actual restaurant has lovely modern decor. A very packed menu, which is clearly laid out and easy to understand what you get for each dish and cocktail or drink. There are two sides to the restaurant, the front part and the back which has alot more seating. We were in the front, which was very pram friendly and they made us feel like nothing was too much trouble. We had the Satay Chicken and Vegetable Spring Rolls which were very clean tasting, so they clearly don't re-use oil and make things fresh which is great. I had a virgin Pina colada which was really smooth and not too sweet, tasted traditional and even came with a miniature umbrella which was a nice touch. We had Beef Massaman with Egg Fried Rice and Duck Confit with Egg Fried Rice. This is one of the best Massaman curries i've had in a long time, it was delightful and very filling. The Duck Confit was very tender and the skin was crispy,, it wasn't overcooked and it certainly wasn't dry. We were too full for dessert. The server was charming and even at one point helped feed our baby with formula! Nothing was too much trouble and he was attentive and refilled water and bringing fresh cutlery. If you like Thai and want a good meal, then come to this restaurant, you won't be disappointed. Thanks for a lovely meal.

Update to previous reviews.... Whilst the atmosphere and service remain high at the Greedy elephant, the food portions have reduced and the menu appears to be made up of a small number of standard ingredients presented in different combinations. Some items appear very much to be bulk supplied and clearly not prepared on site. Not as good value is it used to be all be it still a pleasant evening out

This was our second visit to the Greedy Elephant and once again the food was amazing. Last night’s one of the most delicious meals I’ve ever eaten. The flavours were intoxicating! Highly recommend the seafood sizzling platter, mixed vegetables in oyster sauce and the beef and cashew nuts. The service was also impeccable, the staff a delight, knowledgeable and very very professional. Can’t recommend highly enough and we can’t wait to return!

I ordered takeaway, which you can do if you collect. The food was great- the Penang was spot on! Will definitely order again!

Disappointing really. Booked for wedding anniversary & mentioned on booking but nothing even said. Only given one menu which was filthy with food. Asked for a clean one and was given another dirty menu. It’s paper, you can’t print clean ones each day? We were sitting in the garden room by the wall which was also dirty with what looked like splashes of food and drink up it. The food was supposed to be medium spicy but some dishes blew out heads off, especially the stir fry duck which was also very fatty. The sea bass came out sizzling which was nice but gave off a really acrid smell making us and all the people around us cough. Service was friendly but overall lack of finesse makes this an average restaurant rather than a great one.

Took my partner here for his birthday dinner. The food was amazing, staff were friendly and prompt and the atmosphere was inviting. Overall a lovely meal out. Will be coming back for sure!

It is VERY popular and this was the first time we managed to get in, early one Saturday evening. We only tried two dishes and they were reasonably generous portions. They were pretty good, rather than fantastic but it might gut have been down to what we tried.

What an amazing place - no wonder it’s so busy and popular! Really modern and high quality decor and layout gives a great atmosphere. Food is incredible - highly recommend the Papaya Salad and the Chefs Special Pork Steak. This place is genuine London quality and we are very lucky to have it in Godalming - couldn’t recommend more.

Very enjoyable evening. We had to book quite far in advance to get a table on Saturday evening. We were recommended by a few different friends and it lived up to the high expectations. Would eat here again without hesitation.

Lovely restaurant with excellent decoration. Always busy, even on a Monday night.. so make sure you book. Food was delicious and cooked perfectly. Our waiter was polite and he had the best customer service I've seen for a while.

The place and food was delightful. My only niggle was it was a bit tightly packed and loud (but that might be just me being an old misery!). Definitely would go again. Staff were very attentive and on discovering one of our dishes was incorrect, replaced it immediately

We were looking for a good Thai restaurant after having had some not so good experiences recently. The Greedy Elephant, for surpassed any expectations we had! The restaurant is friendly and welcoming, it has a really cosy atmosphere and although it was busy when we visited, our table felt private and quiet. The staff are really welcoming and made us feel well looked after. When the food came, we were really impressed, it’s was presented beautifully and tasted amazing. The portion sizes were generous, without being over the top, meaning we could happily enjoy three courses. Everything was very reasonably priced too and all in all, we had a wonderful evening. This has definitely made it onto our favourites list and we will be back soon to try more items on the menu. Thank you to all the staff for a truly lovely experience.

Food was delicious, well-flavored, and cooked perfectly. The service was genuinely caring, customers were respectful and enjoying themselves. The atmosphere had charming decor, great vibes, and the restaurant was clean. A big thank you to the team. Don't forget to try the Tom Yum cocktails and lychee sorbet – they're quite special.

Visited here for dinner and had really good time. Good array of options on the menu and the food we had was very tasty. Their mocktails are also very good. Staff were friendly and attentive, regularly coming to the table to see if we wanted our water topped up or if we needed anything else. The service was also very quick and we didn't have to wait long for our food to arrive. I'd recommend booking in advance if you can, the restaurant isn't big and tables appeared to fill quickly.

Eight girls went for a Friday night out to Greedy Elephant and had an excellent time! Delicious food and friendly service. We had a large oval table in the gorgeous back conservatory (parasols!) The sharing platters to start were superb. Fab atmosphere.

As others have said it’s great to see a Thai restaurant back in Godalming but has that excitement tainted the objectivity of the reviews? Actually, no. The Greedy Elephant does everything right - the vibe is pleasingly ‘date night’ (think gold cutlery, dark colours, Thai ornamentation), the staff are smiley and most importantly the food is good quality. The space is quirky with not as many covers as you’d expect so ensure you reserve a table (even mid week).

Beautiful decor! The staff is friendly just a bit slow towards the end of our meal but OMG was the food fantastic! Hot flavorful and delicious - can’t wait to return and or grab a take away!

I have been yearning for a great Thai restaurant to open in this part of Surrey, and I was so excited to try The Greedy Elephant as soon as it opened. The food was delicious and the people working were lovely and kind. Highly recommend.

I am so excited to finally have a Thai restaurant again in Godalming! Couldn't get a babysitter on short notice, so ordered takeaway instead. It was so lovely! I was extra impressed that they cut a hole in the corner of the container for our crispy chilli squid so that it didn't get soggy! We tried a curry, noodle and vegetable dish all were yummy. I also had a look round while I waited and the restaurant has been beautifully refurbished. Can't wait to go and eat in!

Food and cocktails were great with very polite and attentive staff. Would recommend the Tom yum cocktail and the duck!
