I visited a friend who recently moved to Margate a couple months ago and she recommended this restaurant as their burgers are known to be really good. We were served by Lewis who was attentive and recommended an alcoholic beverage. We ordered the 'Gent's Burger', 'The Classic' burger with stilton cheese added into the burger and a normal bowl and side bowl of nachos. The burgers were extremely tasty and the nachos were sooo good. There was a healthy amount of guacamole which we were very impressed with. Two of my friends also ordered the 'Biddenden Mulled Cider' and it tasted really nice. They were happy with the recommendation. Would definitely eat here again and also try other dishes.

We whizzed in at lunch time in between our hectic work schedule in Margate.Smashing team of staff genuinely passionate about diners and food.Food was lush, loveliest freshest coleslaw, pulled pork burger, with amazing flavours. Highly recommend and not overpriced. Oh and super hot coffee.Well done and thank you

We had lunch at the weekend and sat outside. I had the pulled pork burger and my friend had the cheese toastie. He raved about it and said it was the best food he’d had in Margate. I enjoyed my burger too. The staff were excellent. I would recommend this place to future travellers.

We just wanted some lunch and chose the Greedy Cow. On a warm sunny September I just had the look of a nice place to eat. Several tables outside and staff busy serving and clearing tables. Ordered nachos with jalapenos and a grilled cheese sandwich with side of coleslaw. Plenty of sour cream on nachos with cheese throughout and super salsa. Nice grilled sandwich with pickles and great coleslaw. Faultless. Good value and we even left some. Just one thing, don't ask me about my food when my mouth is full :)

The whole table agreed the burgers were some of the best we’ve ever had. We tried the Classic, Greedy Cow and Stilton burgers and they were all amazing. The coleslaw that came with them was fresh and delicious and the service was pretty quick. Overall would definitely recommend, and will return next time we’re in Margate

We were visiting Margate old town for the first time and chose to eat lunch at the Greedy Cow.We ate inside,upstairs by the window having ordered at the counter. The staff were great and very attentive and made excellent recommendations from the small lunch menu.The pulled pork brioche was delicious, served quickly.Other dinners commented how much they were enjoying their lunches.The servers couldn't have ben more helpful.Couldn't recommend this place more highly - excellent

Having recently moved back to Margate, following a three year stint away, Greedy Cow, was one of the first places that sprung to mind when me, my son and partner decided to explore the old town.As usual the place was busy when we arrived (good sign right?) so we weren't too disappointed to have to sit on one of the benches outside... In fact it was actually quite pleasant, as it is a great vantage point to enjoy the world go by.The first disappointment of the day was having to wait nearly 20 minutes to order... And what felt like even longer for the food itself. My 7 year old started to gradually lose it, and in order to avoid a full scale hunger induced meltdown, I went inside and asked if it would be okay to get a slice of bread or something while we wait... My husband and I weren't so bothered, but my son was really struggling with the wait. The lady inside was very considerate and offer a bowl of nachos and cheese which I have to say, was above and beyond, and very appreciated! Thanks very much whoever you are!Now to the food... My husband ordered the pulled pork, I ordered the falafel and my son went straight for the 'hot dog'.Were they worth the wait?... The pulled pork was! The pulled pork was a delight, and we all annoyed daddy by having some of his The 'hot dog'... Turned out to be a tofu hot dog! Oh dear... Needless to say my little guy took one bite and abandoned it... Nothing against tofu per se, I was a vegetarian for over 30 years... Its just that, I'm not sure there are many 7 year olds that would eat them... I am willing to be proven wrong, but I suspect that, if I carried out a survey of 100 7 year olds... There wouldn't be many that would get excited for a tofu hotdog... I respect the sentiment but would recommend a veggie sausage instead... Much more palatable. Finally the falafel... What can I say, I was hungry (long wait) it was edible and the accompanying side salad was scrumptious.... The falafel itself however was lacking in any depth of flavour... It seemed to not taste of very much at all... Which was a bit disappointing... But it did serve its purpose, and the trimmings and soft bun etc were top class... So definitely edible... But if we do go back again I think we'll all be ordering the pulled pork.

Stopped here for lunch as we were looking for a tasty vegan option. My daughter had the vegan hot dog which she said was really good. The rest of us had burgers. Stacked with flavour and lots of different options - we thought they were great. Quick service and lovely sitting outside. Would definitely return!

Ok pretty average - nothing special and sadly had very long wait although it wasn’t busy - both to be served and to pay the bill - when I finally got the waiters attention he said you need to go in to pay - please make this clear when serving - please review your policy for charging for alternative dairy options - appreciate why but do they need to be so high ? thanks

Used to work here as a sprog so have to admit I am biased!That being said, I came in last week and again have been blown away with the food, despite having eaten here for almost 8 years :)Great variety of grub and always mixing up the menu in a positive way. Important to mention all the different gluten free and vegan options as well if that floats your boat, but for me it will always be the Gents Burger! If you know, you know!This place is always guaranteed to fill you up and make you feel good!5/5!

We visited the Greedy Cow for a late lunch. I had the grilled cheese toastie, which is 'grilled' in the American style (i.e. more like fried). It was two huge slices of sourdough bread, with enough cheese to melt out of the sides and create crispy cheese coated crusts. Delicious. The house apple and celery coleslaw was the perfect side. Crunchy and refreshing, it stopped the richness of the toastie from being overpowering. My partner had the nachos with pulled pork, which were equally delicious and a very generous portion. Would definitely recommend!

I cannot review the menu properly as it serves very little that I can eat due to the fact I am a coeliac. Such a shame as I visited when it first opened and have been a few times since but just had coffee!

A lovely little cafe tucked away from the sea front. Really nice staff and great food. We had the Classic Burger and the Falafel Burger with a gingerbread late and hazelnut late. Lovely!

Went to the greedy cow for lunch and can’t fault it! Service was speedy and the waiter was very helpful helping us to decide what to have! I went for the pulled pork and it did not disappoint, my partner is vegetarian and there was plenty for her to choose from. Fantastic food! Can’t wait to return!

visited on a busy Saturday, welcomed in by super friendly staff who managed to sit me upstairs but there was plenty of seating outside! all the staff made me feel really welcome and took my order quickly with no fuss even though I have diet requirements. Literally is the best coffee in Margate I couldn't go anywhere else now! lovely to visit a homemade feel type of cafe clearly a family business who love what they do, plus such cute decor! highly recommended to any one in the area as a must visit in Margate

I recently visited the Greedy Cow. It was my first outing in a restaurant due to Coivd so I was slightly nervous. The staff were extremely attentive with cleanliness, table clearing and wiping down used areas. Table areas were at a safe distance and outside. The food was delicious highly recommend and will 100 percent visit again.

Loved the food! High price so can only be a treat once or twice a year!!Disappointed no chips! Been twice now food service was fast, will not return till they open to eat inside, and of course card only now because of virus!! So I won’t return for a long time! Not accepting cash, like most cafes any excuse not take cash! Wanted go this Saturday but walked away, went to the escape cafe Cliftonville they help the poor! food was so tasty and really good price paid extra to help the needy cash taken, greedy cow!!! are greedy owners!

Had a lovely family lunch here, service was friendly and efficient and food delicious. Only seating they have is outside so you need good weather but it’s in a lovely square with adjacent pubs and cafes so nice atmosphere. Burgers we thought were delicious, nice to see something different from the normal choices available in other places. Prices were reasonable for the quality, would definitely return.

Great food and friendly service. The cheese toastie was delicious. Unfortunately I had nearly finished it though before they brought my wife’s nachos (after I chased), so loses 1 star for that on this occasion. Food was great though and would go back:

We had a lovely time at The Greedy Cow. We visited at lunchtime on a Wednesday and had to wait around 15/20 mins for a table because all of the tables are socially distanced and outside which we completely respected. The service was fab and the food was delicious, we’d recommend the cheese toastie and the pulled pork burger.

Stopped her for a quick lunch today had a delicious burger with excellent homemade coleslaw. Due to Covid there weren’t any tables so they quickly made it up for a takeaway order and advised if we bought our drinks from the nearby pub we could use their tables. My friend had the toastie ,which was a bit tasteless and seemed to be fried? So I wouldn’t bother with those . I’d definitely recommend the burgers though, really delicious, the waiter was lovely and the food was quick and fairly priced .

Took a day trip to Margate last Thursday, never been before so my partner and I were dragging ourselves around in the blazing heat like a pair of overheated zombies trying to find a nice brunch spot. On the verge of collapsing and giving up we found this place thinking "it´ll do". To our lovely surprise it was absolutely glorious, the food was super tasty and the service was great outside (served by a young Irish lad). Will be visiting again when next in the area for sure.

Wow. I went here for lunch with a friend on my first ever visit to Margate. The waitress was absolutely delightful and so understanding about my picky order request. And the food WOW. Turns out heaven really is a place on earth

Popped in here the afternoon we arrived for our weekend away and it did not disappoint. Perhaps a little bit pricey, but I ordered the falafel and the flavours were absolutely on point and the portion size was measured. Service was one guy doing everything it seemed but he was very friendly and it didn't affect how long we waited for anything.Nice, chilled setting - sort of felt like we were sat in a pub. Would recommend!

Lovely friendly staff and delicious menus. The whipped goats cheese and figs and beetroot were amazing and the children had vegetarian hot dogs not realising they were veggie!!

The food was nice and the service friendly. Eight quid for some nachos and a pound extra if you want jalapeños. Same sort of price for two small falafel. Quite tasty, but left hungry. Four quid for a hot chocolate. Good coffee.

The restaurant has great reviews and had been recommended by a family member. Staff are slow, food is okay and priced at standard restaurant prices. I was more disappointed by the pace of service, the lack of amenities and table activities for children and their needs.

Tiny indoors and fierce competition for the tables out side when the sun shines. But great food. I cannot recommend the pulled pork bun too strongly. The opposite of fast food so not the right choice if you are in a hurry.

I’ve visited The Greedy Cow previously and I was impressed before - and they didn’t disappoint again. A round of toasties was really lovely and a set of brownie and cookie were also great. Circling seagulls were a bit of a nuisance and every time someone left they jumped onto the table to try and steal leftover food. Kind of off-putting and not very relaxing for lunch!

Visited the Greedy Cow for breakfast during our weekend in Margate. Such a great little place selling fabulous food and coffee, reasonably priced. We had the Full English breakfast and it’s probably one of the best I’ve eaten in a long time. Fresh, local ingredients and lovely decor.

We were very disappointed to read that The Greedy Cow wasn't open online however stumbled across it to find it open luckily. The food was delicious, what a beef burger! Couldn't fault the nachos, delicious milkshake and quirky toilet, only niggle was service was slower toward the end of our meal, a little pricier than expected however worth it for the quality of food :)

Great location and great food. We nearly ate next door as it looked busy and the Greedy Cow wasn't yet open but wasn't impressed by the menu. Luckily Greedy Cow opened up so we move tables. I had the peanut butter and banana toasty and my OH has the full english. Both tasted great and portions were pretty good. Service was a little slow but we were happy to sit outside soaking up the sun so not a huge issue for us.

My cousin and i had a full english, not my usual choice, it was delicious and plentiful. Very quirky little cafe. Really lovely

Had lunch in here,appeared to be a very nice boutique cafe with a nice selection on the menu.Unfortunately the offerings were not up to the description. The Salad plate was, as described by my lunch companion, the toppings of a Subway. just a few sliced salad ingredients put on a plate for £6.99 very poor value for money. The vegan hot dog was well presented but the ratio of bun to dog left her feeling hungry ,which is an usual as she doesn't have a large appetite. these two dishes plus a cold drink came to over £17 . Wont be going back.

This cafe doesn’t look much from the outside, tiny and not expecting much. However is it larger on the second floor and can accommodate a lot of people. We had a round of cheese Toasties and coffees. I was extremely surprised by the toasties, which I did not expect to be so large or made with such high quality products for the price. All delicious. Saw several other meals being brought out during our time, all of a high quality. The wait staff were all extremely helpful and pleasant, well trained and courteous. Whilst I don’t live in the Margate area, I would high recommend a visit on a trip to the area.

Visited here with my friend on a day trip to Margate. We were looking for somewhere for lunch and a lot was shut as it was a Tuesday. So we tried out this place after some googling and were impressed with the food! My friend had the burger and I had the pulled pork - the portions were generous and it was really yummy!

The service was great the place is cute and nice. We only stopped in for a coffee and it was pretty terrible. We were so disappointed because it seemed like it would be the type of cafe that does a specialty roast.

We was 4 adult and 2 children, not very comfortable, table was long enough but to narrow. We had full English breakfast with two pots of tea. The tea was only hot water, we had to ask for the tea bags. The English breakfast was ok, the only thing not good is that they used margarine on a lovely bread, when I told the waitress, she replied that was butter but unsalted butter...well I never eaten before unsalted butter who test like margarine.

Found The Greedy Cow early on a freezing cold Sunday morning. Opened at 09:30hrs and had breakfast rustled up for us in moments. Bacon and cream cheese bagel for me, full English breakfasts for my family. Washed down with hot chocolates. Thoroughly recommend.

Believe it or not, my wife and I decided to spend New Year in Margate, after booking a nice central, Trinity Square Air b+b. We had stayed in Minster for 2017 NYE and had a lovely day trip to Margate. We are from Brighton, so used to the seafront vibe. On day 1 we got our bearings and ended up in the main high street which was grim. I could feel my soul sapping as I walked along. Along the sea front we saw what looked like lovely town houses interspaces with run down possibly ‘temporary accommodation’ buildings, several young people who looked lost in their lives and the regular smell of cannabis. We agreed not to go that way again, mostly as we work in social care/university and encounter people in need day to day and wanted a break.

Visited with our son whilst in Margate. On entering we were made very welcome. The menu was very varied and reasonably priced. We just had drinks. The service was excellent. If you are in the area it would be well worth a visit. However, if you are unsteady on your feet like me. You may have difficulty in getting to the seating area upstairs. But do not let this put you off.

Stopped by here on a walk through the old town of Margate. Friendly service and a fun atmosphere. Very simple menu (which is good - they do what is featured well). My only wish is that there were more veggie options on offer.

We had breakfast here on two mornings when staying in Margate - all choosing and enjoying different items from their menu. A fantastic start to the day and would definitely recommend to others.

Friendly young people, couldn't be more helpful. Nice atmosphere, quite steep stairs but plenty of seating upstairs. The pulled pork was excellent and they had alternatives to dairy which is always good for me!! Great for kids as well.

Genuinely the best toastie I've ever eaten in my 40 years on God's earth. We had a day trip to Margate and stopped off for lunch at the Greedy Cow. A lovely little place, we sat upstairs. first off the waitress was so lovely and kind and friendly even though it was busy. I went all in and got the cheese toastie with bacon, marmite and jalapenos, which may not be to everyone's taste but honestly it was the highlight of a brilliant day!! My goodness what a bloomin' mindblowing taste sensation. My wife just had the cheese and marmite and said it was the best toastie she had ever had too! Just sublime. Epic. Awesome. I told the waitress and said I would leave a review which I am doing. Lovely food and brilliant service.

Came for breakfast very tasty and good portion size. Loved the bacon and black pudding, friendly staff, great service they also provide a nice healthy balanced menu will definitely return.

Friendly, casual little place with lovely food. I had the burger, which was delicious and tasted as if it had come right off the BBQ at home! The menu is small, but caters for vegans, vegetarians and even little ones who also happen to stop by.

Great little cafe for a tasty and healthy meal. I had a great beef burger with beetroot and watercress in a locally baked bap which came with a side ‘slaw, yogurt dressing? Damn fine coffee too! Bench seats with retro wallpaper decor add to the friendly vibe. Recommended.

If I'm being honest, we were aiming for the cupcake cafe next door but they were closed unexpectedly so popped in here instead. My banana and chocolate flapjack was very good and the rest of the family were very pleased with their veggie breakfast options.

Found a table on a busy bank holiday for a late lunch. Friendly service and great food (pulled pork, and vegan hotdog) as well as malted milkshakes :) only disappointment was the coffee, but maybe we just got a dud one.

We decided to have a bite to eat for lunch at this restaurant as we like the Old Town. We managed to get a table outside and were able to order promptly. Our food (a toastie & some nachos) came out quickly and we had service with a smile, the staff were all so polite and friendly! The food itself was really good and was very filling!

On visit to Margate was looking for somewhere for lunch with bit of shade but sitting outside as sunny afternoon. Googled places for lunch that were still open, it was past 3 o'clock. Greedy Cow came up and not knowing Margate very well had to ask for directions. Market Place is a lovely spot, never been to this part of Margate, the old town. I had pulled pork in granary bread and home made red cabbage coleslaw which was absolutely delicious. My husband had the burger with pulled pork and the coleslaw and said it was the best burger he's ever had. They don't do chips and to be honest didn't need them as portions are very generous. Inside there is a very steep staircase up to tables and chairs in main indoor restaurant. Plenty of tables and benches outside which we chose as such a beautiful day and surrounded by lovely buildings in this old part of margate. Would definitely come back again on future visit to Margate.

Always a nice friendly welcome, with some great food. Quite snug inside with a fairly steep stair case to contend with if you want to sit inside- so not ideal if you have a stroller or pram, but ample seating upstairs whether in a small or large group. Great to visit any time of the day. Finally got to try one of their infamous burgers I have been hearing about, my God was it awesome? Only slight down side is that they don't have a great deal of side options for burgers or sandwiches, so when a burger turns up on its own it can seem quite underwhelming? With so many places to eat in Margate now, this is by far one of the best for quick eats. If anything.....just go for the Brownies, cant describe how good they are until you try one!

Situated in the centre of the old town, with inside and outside seating. Welcoming friendly service, we had a good lunch and as I said above probably the best pulled pork at a cafe/restaurant, with the apple sauce the flavour of the pork was not overwhelmed. Will use again if in the area.

Visited on a busy weekend but were well looked after, decided on the burger with multiple optional toppings which turned out to be a great choice. Well worth a visit!!

My daughter and I ordered a toastie each She had added bacon and I opted for jalapenos in mine. They were delicious and nearer to an American grilled cheese sandwich in the cooking method as the sandwich was lightly fried to produce a crispy exterior.The bread was sourdough and there were two cheeses combined. We ordered a bottle of decent house white for only £12, which was a bargain. Staff were lovely and friendly and we would definitely return.

I love going to the Greedy Cow, the food is just great, healthy and varied plus the staff are brilliant, friendly and even remember my favorite order! Definitely a place to go in the pretty old town of Margate

Found The Greedy Cow by accident and so glad I did! Best food in all of Margate! Such helpful friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, bright dining room, delicious food. Always my first reccomendation for lunch or breakfast in town and always my go-to on a lunch break for a takeaway meal and coffee.

Once you get in it looks like an easy going and cheap little bar, wooden sticky tables, not too clean in general.. so you'd expect at least for it to be cheap, but nope. Terrible and expensive food. Very few dishes to choose from.

We read great reviews so decided to try this out for breakfast. We ordered two full English breakfasts, a banana milkshake and a pot of tea. The girls were very friendly and the food was delicious! Everything is clearly of quality ingredients and we couldn't fault a thing. Highly recommended.

We sat outside for brunch on our day trip to Margate. The square was sun drenched and sheltered from the sea breeze. The French toast was absolutely delicious and the coffee great. The surface was excellent and very friendly.

Been here on serval occasions now and every time it gets better. First time trying the breakfast menu and it did not disappoint! Staff once again very attentive, welcoming, and friendly! Great quality of food too for the price (not some cheap sausages or bacon).

We went for a light lunch. Popped upstairs and waited quite a while to be noticed. My partner had the burger, while i had the nachos. Both were very good, but at £8 each a little over priced. No chips with the burger. I had a peanut butter milkshake which needed more peanut butter and was in my opinion over priced at £4. My partner had the gingerbread latte, which was ok and a bit more reasonable at £2.95.

We went in there for a late breakfast and It was OK. The staff were really lovely and the selection of sweet treats looked amazing. The coffee was a little on the weak side and the 'Turkish eggs' for breakfast was certainly different. I can imagine you'd enjoy their more hearty breakfast offerings, are they did look very nice. Two issues. To go and sit upstairs, you have to go up a set of really challenging stairs, especially if you're older. Also. The toilet was also not clean, which was disappointing.
