After a long and painful period in intensive care, this restaurant has now closed. It had a good run and for a while was THE place to see and be seen, but alas no more.

I nearly gave this 5 stars. A little down at heel indoors but in a very good way. One of my poppadoms was slightly burned. The pickles and sauces were fine. The lamb Madras was ace. Lots of well cooked lamb, lots of rich tomatoey sauce with chillis in too. Proper pilau rice with cardamom pods and cloves to pick out and no daft food colouring in the rice. 26 quid with a big bottle of sparkling water. Probably par for the course for round here.

Delicious Nepalese dining with good and friendly service and fantastic food. We enjoy the speciality which is Goat Curry, a mouth watering dish we first met in Nepal itself. You can choose to have it hot, mild or medium. Tender goat is served with spring onions, capsicum and fresh green chilli. On a warm night you can sit outside and there are plenty of tables inside. The food is healthy - no additives, No MSG, no colourings. We chose to have the house red wine very modestly priced at £ 20 a bottle. Our starter was Momo -authentic Nepalese lamb dumplings, steamed a lightly spiced. Be careful about ordering too much - the helpings are generous! We will go back again and again.

This was the second visit we paid to this place. We had been four years before when we were in town visiting friends. It is great food and has great variety. Everything we've ordered has been fantastic. Just be aware that while items are listed as spicy on the menu, that can vary depending on how spicy the chilis or peppers they are using are. My husband ordered a spicy dish four years ago and it wasn't spicy, and ordered another one this time and it was quite hot. We aren't in London often, but this is a must-go place for us any time we are there.

Saturday the 16th January 2016 My Girlfriend, her son and I went for Dinner at the Nepalese Restaurant on Wandsworth Bridge Road, I had previously had a serious bout of Salmonella after the only meal I had one Sunday was from this restaurant. We did complain to the management but received very little acknowledgement from them. We had eaten here quite often in the past and highly recommended the Nepalese Curry. After some persuasion I agreed to return here and try it again, the crispy chicken wings starter was my choice and we were enjoying our wine awaiting what for one of us at least was a fond memory. The crispy wings were raw, see attached photos, we cancelled our meal and when the manager was confronted with our complaint all he could say was that we needed to pay for the drinks. We left not having finished our drinks and paying for them. A truly unpleasant experience and one which shall need to be reported to the Health Authorities for the safety of the public.

The staff were incredibly difficult to flag down to get anything. I booked this place as it has proven to be one of my favourite takeaways over the last 6 months. One of my good friends also raves about it so I thought with 6 friends coming to town this would be a perfect place to book for a meal. How wrong can you be....The waitress literally looked like she wanted to be anywhere in the world apart from taking our orders. As the food arrived, there was one meal missing. I waited for 3 or 4 minutes to see if my meal arrived. Nothing appeared so i politely asked if the final meal was on it's way. The waitress then went on to explain no meal was ordered and she had checked all our meal orders before leaving. This was untrue at no point was this checked. Regardless i outliend we had ordered this main and could we have it. The waitress then spent a good 2 or 3 minutes continuing to deny the meal had been ordered. My friend next to me pointed out that my rice had arrived so she must have taken the order but they'd merely forgotten the main and the naan bread. Again the attitude at this possibly being her error was denied by the waitress.I was sat there shocked at how a disucssion was taking place and a mere sorry let me look straight into this had not occured.2-3 minutes after the waitress left she returned to apologise and said your order had indeed been placed and this has been a mix up with us and we apologise. i couldnt have agreed more as i saw her write this down.7 of us sat there amazed at how badly the waitress had handled the situation the attitude was awful and the intent on trying to blame us for the mix up was staggering. It's a shame, the food is pretty good but after paying full price and leaving a tip (i know far too British aren't we) i will certainly not be returning here at any point which is a real shame...

My wife and I found this little restaurant on the internet on New Years Eve morning. We wanted to stay local to Chelsea because we had friends coming round later in the evening to celebrate the new year with us. On arrival this place looks a little deceiving, corner road restaurant with a tight small reddish coloured entry door and once inside looks very tiny. Now ...... never judge a book by it's cover as this turned out to be one of the best meals we have experienced in along time with the service being second to none, the staff were great. Never eaten Nepalese before but will most certainly do so again and preferably here. The place is very small but in it's praise, it became very cosy, intimate & comfortable with a lovely atmosphere. The restaurant prizes itself on cooking everything fresh and to the heat levels to suit you. We had for starters the Onion Bhaji, Lamb Samosas, Battered Squid, Momo & the Fresh Nepalese Salad followed by the mains which were Chicken Korma & Shwo - Apple Curry both with rice (big appetites I'm afraid) a mixture really of Nepalese and Indian. It was absolutely fantastic, everything was fresh, wonderfully tasteful and beautifully presented and most importantly as per the menu advise we received from the waiters who we found most attentive, polite & helpful. This place is a little gem and even if you are not local, still try and visit because I can assure you will not be disappointed. If you are not to keen on some of the menu items, they will even tweak some of the ingredients to your liking just to make your visit pleasurable. Oh, by the way, you can park in the area free of charge after 5pm as long as it's not a Residents Permit Bay but still check these bays because the time restrictions on them are not all day.Visit, enjoy & eat well.ChelseaLuigi.

Yum yum yum... Very happy to have a local place that serves a quick and delicious curry! Almost perfect. My husband doesn't like coriander and most dishes had it in there, perhaps it would be something that could be put on the menu as a lot of people find it an over-powering ingredient! (Then they can have the choice to easily remove). Highly recommend the korma if you're not a spicy person! Will be back in a heart beat.

I went here purely because my boyfriend is Nepalese and we are always looking out for authentic nepalese food. When we entered we where shocked at the small size of the restaurant and at the waitress who looked like she would of rather been anywhere else but there. We ordered momo as we always do but the momo was poor and I don't know where they got the recipe for the momo dip but they seemed to like it because they handed it to us for our choila too. Mains where below average too and we couldn't seem to get any service from the waitress when we got thirsty. The menu looks exciting but they don't deliver in the taste or service. The most unusual part of the dining experience was that they were playing christmas music in March , the whole way through our meal .

It wasn't my first time at the Greedy Buddha and a review was long overdue. Over time I came there many times and I find the most amazing atmosphere and most importantly GREAT food! It's super fresh and delicious, reasonably priced, one of the best restaurants in London for this type of Nepalese/Indian influenced food. What a place! The staff is friendly and polite, owner is a great guy, always there looking after his business which means he cares about it. I hope it won't change and become one of these terrible high street chains. UK is full of chains and it's getting hard to find such small, independent restaurants. The Greedy Buddha as it's a truly wonderful local gem! Highly recommended from the heart!

The Greedy Buddha in Fulham, London is a friendly local with some great Nepalese food. It is a small and cosy restaurant with friendly staff, for the summer there is a small outside seating area and a warm welcoming interior for all seasons - and a great aquarium to look at as well. Some of the curries and other dishes are very good and well above the average curry house. Although Nepalese dishes will also be familiar to customers that know the Indian cuisine as some are similar. A highly recommended local restaurant that is one of our favourites.

My friend and I have been eating at this Nepalese restaurant for almost 3 years, and it never disappointed us. The service is good, the food very tasty and the price very reasonable. I usually enjoy the fish and the nepalese salad. My friend like the curry the lamb shish. The atmosphere is very cosy and homely. On some occasions they play live music which is very entertaining.

This is a friendly place and my sister goes regularly. However we were a table of 8 and took over an hour to get our food and then with encouragement! Tables of 2 all being given their food despite us ordering first. One table had finished before ours arrived! I was dissapointed that while one starter had 2 prawns on another had just 1.Food overall was good. Did find the price reasonable but the bill took ages to work out with pre 8 pm discounts etc. Wine list limited. Waiters lacked confidence. I would go again but not as a family. They couldnt cope.

The general consensus is that this is a good curry house, but the service is slow, and I agree. However, grab some poppadums and a beer/glass of wine and the wait for your food is acceptable, because it certainly is worth the wait. Standard fare to be sure, but very tasty, and the place was buzzing - it's small and cosy and can get pretty noisy, but that's part of the character. Four of us tried a selection of dishes, fish and chicken ones, with sides and no one complained. My only gripe would be that the Tarka Daal was a tad watery, but apart from that, full marks! Food, plus 2 bottles of wine and 4 large bottles of Cobra came to £25 a head, which, for London, ain't bad at all.

The positive first; the location. This is a very nice corner of London, which also has lots of restaurants. The latter point also carries the advantage that it will not be difficult to find another restaurant. Then the negatives; the service was very slow, and not particularly friendly. A generous assessment would be that they were indifferent. The ambiance was not particularly nice. I got a table inside. A rather small, not very nicely decorated, room, with a horrible acoustic. It wasn't very crowded, but it was difficult to speak without shouting. Towards the end of of the dinner, some loud rock music was turned on, which was made worse by the fact that the sound quality was poor. Finally, the food; very bland and unimaginative. Next time, I'll go somewhere else.

Three of us went for dinner here and really enjoyed the food. One of our group had lived in Nepal and said the standard was great here. we had a mixed starter and then each had a curry dish, all of which were very tasty and the portion sizes were good. The service was not overly friendly, the staff generally looked a bit bored. The ambience was a bit odd, particularly as someone at the table near us was asleep on the table having had too much to drink. I'm sure this is not normal, so we will definitely return as the food was great.

This is our local and we have eaten here a few times and had plenty of takeaways over the years. The food has been consistently well cooked, fresh and aromatic. Eating in is lovely, especially during the summer when the doors are open onto a pretty little terrace. The lamb is always lovely quality and the fish very fresh and cooked beautifully. It is sometimes hard to walk past it when the delicious smells emanating from the kitchen are enticing you in…Good value, delicious food. Yum.

Had my very first "Curry" ever here. Had a chicken entrée. That was great, coconut rice was great, sauce was great, naan was great. Sensing a pattern? Only complaint was that it wasn't very spicy. I ordered an item that had 3 dot next to it on the menu, indicating the spiciest kind of their dishes. It may have been spicy, if I had a vag. Other than that, excellent food!Cheers, Duh & Woot!

My husband and I have been regular customers at The Greedy Buddha for a year now. The food is good - not authentic Nepalese but all the same, very good. However, the service is so bad that the food does not make up for it. We have continuously been willing to give the restaurant a new chance, despite the staff making error after error with our orders- without explanation, just "I'm sorry" from the wait staff. It's actually gotten to a point where it's humorous because last time we ordered food, it seemed no one knew where our food went! Then, it just "showed up". I have offered my comments to the management and they have declined them - they just don't seem interested in bettering their service, unfortunately. It's a restaurant with a lot of potential but if they don't care to improve, customers will start recognizing that.

If you haven't yet tried The Greedy Buddha, please make it your next restaurant to visit. The perfect location of suburban London means that it's far enough away from the hustle and bustle and a real hidden gem.The good choice is exquisite. With gorgeous spices and flavours of Nepalese cuisine, you will not be disappointed. There is further seating downstairs and i do recommend that you ask for a table there as the atmosphere is so much nicer.

My boyfriend and I went to The Greedy Buddha on Friday night and had a really enjoyable meal. He has been numerous times before and always talked about how good it was but this was my first time and I was not disappointed. We both had the nepalese fish curry on my boyfriends recommendation and it was excellent. Lighter and more flavorsome than a similar Indian dish. Overall I would thoroughly recommend this place and look forward to going back soon.
