I am writing this review from my heart. I just want to say service and food was amazing. We had our party yesterday so staff were very corporative and understanding. Special thanks to alish and prakash who manage so well. 😊

The Great Lion formerly Desi junction is fully refurbished place it looks amazing. Lots of different seating areas. TV screens all around, great place to watch foot ball or any other sport. Every thing was freshly cooked. Fish Pakora were amazingly delicious, service of food was great and staff were friendly, definitely will be visiting soon. Wide selection of Indian food. Dine in or order on line and collect. Sorry this time the food was not up to their standard it was not properly cooked. Sorry

Good service from the staff here, always have good seating options. Was pleasantly surprised with the prices of the drinks. If you're looking to watch the footy or have a mixed grill then The Great Lion is a decent place to go to.

Had food trough just eat Delivery wasn't greatest but restaurant has nothing to do with that. Food was absolutely fantastic. Chicken tikka was full off flavours. Chilli prawns and chilli mushrooms was so good I couldn't stop eating it. Very good food. Defenetly ordering again

The food here is absolutely delicious! Every dish we tried was brusting with flavour and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend the indian food (amritsari kulcha, soya chunks, chicken items) cant wait to come back again.

I bought veg manchurian and the sauce was too spicy .

Okay, food is okay but tastes like it’s been frozen and microwaved, atmosphere is a bit meh, feel like it could be a lot better and exciting

Friendly service but was quiet when I was there

Most of the time we ordered here but today We ordered garlic naan but we received simple naan , no salad .

Good food, chilled environment, could do with getting the pool table sorted though.

Very disappointed,I ordered veg manchurian is not cooked properly off in taste, and biryani is worst, found hair in food will not recommend this restaurant

Ordered and got delivery of Lamb biryani, Chicken biryani, Veg Manchurian and Sheek Kebab. Utter tasteless and bland experience. Manchurian was doughy and uncooked. Lamb was undercooked and rice in both biryani was undercooked and off in taste. Found a strand of hair in veg Manchurian. Called the restaurant to report it but was taken this as a joke. Extremely unprofessional and wouldn't recommend it.

Sure evenings were ruined & parties thrown down the drain but on 03/02/2024 the evacuation was due to no fault of their own. Electric meter which belongs to the electric supplier & no contractor is licensed to touch had a fault internally which caused it to over heat, smoke & set the fire board alight which was right behind it. Main switch had to be knocked off & building had to be evacuated for those reasons. Unfortunately fire brigade had to be called out to put the suspected fire out (which ended up being a red glow in such an awkward place). After the fire brigade dealt with that side of it we were then able to make it safe We as their Electrical Contractors truly feel bad for the ruins that day

Fantastic mixed grill and good priced beer. Used to go in here when it was the Desi Junction on match days. Still really good and much cleaner.

The food was awesome. Great curry house and the atmosphere was there even with no one around. I will go again!!

This venue serves a range of beers and drinks as well as Indian food that is cooked home style and has been termed “desi” these days. The venue is Tardis like deceptive, in that behind a small frontage lies an extensive eating area with private rooms available. All in all the food was good, service was great and atmosphere (on the Friday night that we visited) was okay.

Enjoyed my night here, food was fresh, staff friendly and helpful. Definitely will be returning

Today I ordered some food for takeway and naan is not properly cooked, its look like a raw and masala fries portion is too less as well. When we go for eat in they serving good quantity and quality but whenever we order for takeway quality and quantity both are cheap

Their booking system is corrupt. They have engaged the students for their work. Instead of staff who don't know how to talk. The girl Joti is rude and has no manners food service very slow. Management need to sort it out !!!!

I just got here today26/10/23 its only 21:23 And they have said all of sudden they can’t take any food orders after taking my drink order which is very terrifying to me as I am hungry but as always I joke their is always a mcdonald or kfc but wanted to sit chat and drink but ruined my night Very disappointing to me

Great pub,went on a match night staff coped brilliant, very efficient, food the best Indian I've ever had,period.

Their whole attention on party but other customers are waiting for their food.

We had a couple.of starter dishes. Chilli paneer, chicken manchurian and fish pakora. All three were great especially the chicken manchurian. Good portions of food. Tables need some upkeep. Our table needed a bit more of a clean. Given that it was not busy at all, the service from the bar wasn't great. One colleague on the other side of the bar, not paying attention to who's waiting and another colleague on the phone to someone when there were 3 people waiting at the bar. I had to call one of the colleagues so that I could order some food.

Best Indian I’ve ever had. Loved everything about it, lambshops were 10/10

Ordered on uber, once accepted the order is cancelled 5 mins later..this has happened so many times..poor service...when rang the kitchen have said management has ask to cancel with no reason...if you can't do uber orders I think it's best not to advertise!

Went in as was early for an appointment just up the road had coke and spicy chicken wings. Not bad price at 7 quid. The wings were bang on and deffo filled a hole. Would deffo come again. Place would be great for football matches plenty of space and loads screens.

Absolutely loved this place! Curries are out of this world! Stopped in West Brom on business..came here twice during the week. Fresh, authentic tasting curries whilst watching footy...what could be better! Lamb Jalfrezi is to die for!

Great atmosphere. Completely changed the space compared to the old dark pub. Looks very lively. A huge pub means there is always somewhere to sit. Food is inviting and very tasty.

I have been coming to this restaurant for over a year now and I can honestly hand on heart say that I have never had a bad meal! The food is absolutely incredible, the staff are amazing especially Joyti and Raj are always friendly and happy to help. Prices are great too and give fantastic value! Must try Chill Panner, Fish and Daal chawal. I honestly recommend this restaurant. Thank you

Bad service plus the staff can’t talk english they haven’t got a clue when your asking for a certain pint also the toilet stink of urine due to switching the flush off…..

The somewhat unassuming frontage hides a very well decorated and presented pub/restaurant. Reasonably priced good food. There is also a car park to the rear that you can access via Thynne Street. Well worth a visit if you like Indian food.

Great interior, looks like serious money has been spent here. Food always good. Service can be a bit long winded. The car park unfortunately was strewn with litter and could be a bit off putting for first time visitors. Broken glass, polystyrene, cardboard, why???

First time after it was taken over by new management...The transformation has been very good, place is looks and feels much bigger and brighter...Food is available, however the bar staff are not very welcoming, the person that served us had a frown as if she did not want to be their...Not even a sentence cam out of her mouth...Such as next please or how can I help...Customer Care skills need to be introduced.

Booked a table then arrived and they had given the table to someone else then the proceeded to take us into a cold party room not impressed.

Wasn't busy so found a seat even though England was playing.

Great refurb of the old desi junction. Service was very hit and miss but the great lion mix grill made up for this. The portion size was great and the naans were very tasty. The chicken curry however was not that great. 4 star is because how good the mix grill was. I would recommend this place for good beer and a mix grill but not the currys.

Absolute quality. Claypot lamb superb. Loved the chicken momo. Chicken and spinach and fish pakora were great.

Very bad service. I have been visiting this place since long time but now its been third time that we are not getting good service firstly our food was served to other and then they gave our food like after 50mints of ordering. Secondly we been there and made the order incorrect and gave something else and now today i ordered daal makhani but they just gave me simple daal and was not even cooked properly. This was really terrible this time. I am not gonna visit this place now onwards.

Nice place good food (curry) and great for sport

Customer service is terrible at this place. When placing an order you would expect your food to all come out together. We had received our mixed grill first, then curries, and last naans when we had already eaten majority. Food quality is good, a real let down with service.

Great food excellent service well worth a visit

Had to repeat my order 10 times before the man got it right. The food was absolutely enveloped in oil and grease. Chips first came refried. The chicken biriyani was plain, had no taste whatsoever. The customer service was completely non-existent,had to ask for condiments 4 times. Spent £45 on rubbish food which was not even worth £5. Will not return as customer service is completely abrupt and rude, I've gotten better service from our local mcdonalds.
