Really good fish and chips about time this area had a decent chip shop the other local chip shops are poor to say the least give them a try.

Absolutely love this place, I always order donner kebabs from here and it's amazing, have never wasted a sample of food from this place.

I have ordered many time from chippy , but just had fish and chips delivery im sorry but did not enjoy at all chips were hard and one cut the roof of my mouth , not sure if i will use again , you used to do lovely chips orange ones but now not nice

Have ordered from thimblemill chippy many times over the past few years, generally having really good experience. the last 3 times have been rubbish, I ordered a discounted meal due to accumulated loyalty stamps and the restaurant refused the order, following this I placed an order and waited for nearly 1 and a half hours, chased with restaurant and was told to cancel and re-order with a different delivery app which cost me an extra £6. This time I have ordered through Uber eats where the chippy is advertising a 15 minute delivery time, it has been nearly an hour and the delivery driver is still waiting to collect and start the delivery. All the more frustrating since I've paid extra for priority delivery and pre-tipped the driver too. Lost any faith in this place, I now won't have time to eat before my evening shift and also can't cancel the order.

Fabulous place for a cheeky tea. Lots of variety and amazing Halloumi kebab pittas 🥙 as well! Get yourself down for tea!

Tasty chippy, fish is really nice. Been here a couple of times and food is spot on. Bit pricey but a good local chippy.

Probably the best chippy we've found in the black country, really generous servings, lovely owner (Jaz) and top quality food. On our final day in the area we went in and they weren't serving battered chips. Jaz found out it was our last proper sandwell chippy and put a batch on for us. Just amazing service and quality scran, will be really sad to no longer have it as our local.

Great local chippy. Love that the fish is battered fresh, so it's not sat there for hours. Mushy peas taste like proper chips shop peas as well. Batter bits too, if you ask for some. 👌🏻

Just had a fish supper from here tonight and I have to say finally a none northern none costal chippy that can do fish and chips to a very high standard, the chips where light and fluffy but most importantly the fish was amazing cooked to perfection with a golden light and very crisp batter which was topped of with a beautiful curry sauce. This place has become one of my top chippies in the uk and after 20 years in the Royal Navy I’ve visited a lot 🤣keep up the good work

By far, the best chippy in the area, others are nice, but thimblemill chippy just hits the nail on the head when it comes to food. The staff and owners are welcoming and polite, the shop is clean, and the food is freshly prepared and served perfectly. The chips are always fresh as they sell out all the time. They get involved in different festivities like Christmas Halloween, ect, and the kids love it when they come into the shop. I can't recommend them enough. Get your self Down there and try their cod and chips or Donna meat because you really won't be disappointed!!!!

This is definately our favourite chippy. Great food overall but it's the battered chips that set Thimblemill Chippy apart from the rest! I live 4 miles away but wouldn't go anywhere else. The service is great and the staff are friendly.

Crisp batter, flaky fish, hot fresh chips - what's not to love? Often cookes to order and always comes with a smile, it's our go-to Bearwood chippy. The seasonal deep-fried pig in blanket is a beautiful way to kill a diet too.

Thimblemill chippy is by far the nicest chippy in the area. The staff are very friendly, the owners are very welcoming, friendly and make sure the food you request is to a very good standard. Would highly recommend to all.

The committee at Smethwick Church have used this chip shop for 2 special fish & chip supper events which went down a treat. Highly recommend the food and service and such reasonably priced for the portion size. Thank you very muchly

Really disappointed! I’ve ordered from here before and it’s been fab. This time, I paid £8.60 for pie and chips - I got about 15 chips with my pie. I think a standard portion is £2.70 and the pie is about a fiver. There’s no way my chips were even the size of even a cone of chips. I feel a bit ripped off, to be honest. Maybe this is a mistake, a one off. I’m just a bit annoyed!

First time ordering Friday, was told there was a 20 minute wait as they had a massive order, it was well worth the wait, chicken and chips was bang on, cheese burger and chips was delicious all fresh and still hot, also got a free drink for the hold up. Highly recommend, you won’t be disappointed!

Totally disgusting food. Chips are like razor blades. The fish was like. That went in the bin. Fish looked like a a baby sleeping in a king size bed. Wish I could add a picture. Don't waist your money

Great good. Very clean. Amazing customer service. I love how they fry their fish in separate oil to their chicken. For Muslims it’s hard to find trustworthy places who fry their fish in separate oil to the chicken with isn’t halal, but these guys do. A lot of Great RESPECT 🫡 and love. My number one chippy. I have many local to me but I prefer to drive to these guys because they’re so trust worthy.

Best Fish & Chips I've eaten in the West Midlands in a long time! Classic fresh mini fish, generous amount of fish with dry, tasty thick cut chips!! Actual real chippy curry sauce to top off the meal. Excellent customer service with a side of banter thanks to the owner Jas and his staff! Highly recommend if you want to get your fix!

Thimblemill Chippy is by far the best chip shop in the area - the food is always cooked fresh and we’ve never had a bad meal from here! The thing that keeps us going back though is the owner and the friendly staff - nothing is too much trouble and they’re always up for a chat and the customer service is amazing! Definitely recommend!

After being recommended this new place though why not. This new chip shop is lovely, Jaz and Phil were serving today …"You pay for your food and get the banter for free". Haven't had service so good in a long time. The food was hot, the Southern Fried Chicken and chips were lovely. The prices are brilliant, portion size is perfect, this place has begun with a great start. After reading the other reviews about what the fish is like tried the mini fish and chips...wow it's beautiful, flaky, melts in the mouth. Looking forward to trying the menu. Keep up the great work guys, see you soon.

In the bin…. Used for first time after all the hype. Massively disappointed, arrived cold (live 1/2 mile away) mini fish is just that, MINI. Chips are small and hard, chicken meat portion was tiny. Local rivals don’t have much to fear and won’t be using again…

I ordered the fried chicken. They had a beautiful fried coating. Well seasoned. Cooked to perfection. The size of the chicken thighs were enormous with plenty of meat. Definitely will be coming back in for more. Great service from both the staff and owner.

Really good chips not too greasy and a bit of crispness to them. Perfect. Tried the chicken and fish here so far and it's nicely done. When I do get a chippy tea I choose here, it's been consistent with the quality. Reasonable prices. Lovely staff always welcoming and friendly.

Lovely food, great portions and great customer service. Something chip shops in the local area seem to lack nowadays. Refreshing to know that the food isn’t hit or miss either. Whatever you order you know its going to taste great and is great value for money. Making it the perfect excuse to visit smethwick more often.

I was reluctant to try here as when it was KMV the chips were awful and having tried other new chip shops to be disappointing. However the new owners of Thimblemill Chippy have turned it around. The chips were not greasy at all, good quality potatoes and fresh fish cooked really well. I will definitely be coming here again!

Thursday 9th December, 2130. Delivery by Ubereats. I was excited about getting dinner from here, however I feel a bit let down. The chips were overcooked, the Southern fried scollops were 5mm thick and I ordered one gravy and one curry sauce, but was sent two curry sauces. I don't usually complain about food orders, but this really disappointed me. I like to order local, but I don't think I'll be using these guys again which is a shame.

Found this little gem on the off chance and certainly wasn't disappointed. Food quality, portion size and pricing are spot on and the staff were very professional. Will definitely be back again very soon, keep up the great work!

Re heated chips they were dry as a nuns crutch the assistant had not got a clue how to Wrap a bag of chips… on the other hand the place is clean n tidy n the staff were friendly but I won’t go back there again

Excellent food. Fish and chips was very nice, the kebab in naan was amazing perfect size. I was pleased with the free delivery as I spent over £5. I tried just eat but they had a £10 minimum spend. The order came really fast as well. If you want good food I high recommend KMV Fish Bar, great value.

Great customer service, the staff were super friendly. I was excited to see the wide variety of fish they had on the menu, being a massive fish fan. They also delivered, and the food got to me very quickly and a lot cheaper than it would have been on Just Eat!
