first time ordering & not very good, very dry meat, yorkies & stuffing was hard to cut & eat. ended up wasting food & money

Food wasn't too bad Yorkshire puddings were hard as rock dessert was OK had lemon meringue so can't go wrong really hubby had fudge cake said wasn't good. Decor is very dated carpet needs replacing and toilets are out of the 80's quite expensive really have been to cheaper and better

It's not were I live but we been twice now with brother in law who lives that way and it's a lovely carvery and has a lot of different foods to have very nice meal

Good food but would not serve me a vodka because I was with my son who's 18 and I might have gave it to him, I go regularly but today staff was moaning that they was short staff and we will get our dessert when she can ... and stated that she was running the kitchen and bar on her own. And half the dessert on the menu was out of stock. Really gone down hill since new management.

Beef was extremely dry. ordered around 12:30 so it was overcooked. Yorkshire puddings was Pre-made frozen (aunt Bessie'ish) a carvery chef should know how to cook a yorkie. Roast potatoes where deep fried and dry. Mash needed seasoning. The onion gravy was nice and veg was cooked well. ordered fudge cake and came with cream already poured on it so was soggy when I came to eat it. alot of room for improvement. won't order again

Absolutely probably one of the best carvery’s I’ve had as of late. The TC I had the other day was awful so tried somewhere new and so glad I did!! Yummy!! Those veggies!

I was the DJ for a small wedding there on the 4-May-2024, the staff and service are very nice adding a sense of warmth in the atmosphere. Keep up the good work guys.

Mash tasted like water stuffing hard as bullets and I had a loose tooth come out due to the stuffing

Ordered through deliveroo Not impressed with the food Mash is lumpy and dry Stuffing ball overcooked and dry Roast potatoes dry Meat very salty Veg tastes like it was cooked in a Chinese restaurant Overall awful carvery will not be ordering from here again Gave it to the dog and even she wouldn’t eat it

not good the roasties were black and dry like they had been keeping warm all day mash potatoes were like water not taste , veg was ok though, when I have eaten in the restaurant it is nice, so why is a take away not as good

It was great it was early. Not sure why you are saying sorry. Driver was polite and really nice. Never ordered from the Dovecote I will again. Really nice food.

Highly recommend. had 3 dinners but we all wanted different so left a note for how I wanted each dinner, I must say they followed the note perfectly and everything was spot on. Great value for the money and food is fantastic, thanks again.

It's a really good pub and the food is great

Food portions and quality was great as always. However it did arrive cold this time round due to being delivered by bike 🤦‍♀️ Not ideal for 4 Sunday roast dinners, all had to be reheated.

The carvery is horrible my 3rd visit today the food is bland with a funny taste. Never will I be eating here, even though it’s very local to me. The bar staff no faults. The music was also a bit loud.

no mention of onions cherry tomatoes leeks peppers bamboo shoots being smothered all over the top made everything tatse the same and we don't like onions so made it inedible

Went there for Xmas dinner on 25 December for the Family the Starter was lovely we had waiter service for the First Part and a tiny Sherry but it was Tiny a nice mince pie the vegs could be cook a bit more until softer but do not like the custard we had a great time first ever meal out on Xmas

I visit this place most Sundays for a carvery and have never been disappointed. There are always 4 meats to choose from and a good selection of vegetables. I can recommend a visit.

Food was lovely, first time we have ordered , pricey for kids carvery . Could do with doing proper roast potatoes instead of frozen that was all that was missing

Really disappointed about this pub as we expected a more enjoyable experience. Carvery was disappointing, lacking in flavour, & I think the whole carvery veg section needs rethinking. We can say the lady bar staff Natasha was lovely & couldn't do enough to accommodate us. But went away feeling deflated & won't be back. We can't recommend eating here.

Great Sunday Carvery And priced fairly

Booked for my dad's wake!!! The food was awful, cheese spread sandwiches and not the food that we agreed at all!!! The level of disappointment is unexplainable. The bar staff were amazing and clearly have been left to take the fall for owners. I would advise everyone to avoid this venue at all costs

Been here today as its normally our go to place, but after this visit we're not sure we will be attending again food wasn't good at all, mash was very lumpy, the roasts were hard, the stuffing was very dry, the apple pie was like a cake base as it had been heated in a microwave and didnt have any flavour and custard was like water having said this we all ate what we could as at a price of £97 for 2 adults and 4 children to eat and drink then it sure was being eaten... very disappointed on this visit and think I shall be looking for somewhere else in the future been visiting this place for about 10 years or more and to see it served up like this today was very unpleasant

The meat is giving out like rations.the chicken was that tough it offered to fight me twice.the staff thought that king edward invented the potatoe.the beef had frost bite and the onions are that under cooked they were crying.the carvery was more cold than the titanic and staff thought it was funny and laughed about it..wouldnt even take my dogs there to be honest..the dining room was more cold than outside.the carpets are older than david dickinson..unexceptable and avoid like covid.oh and I don't even drink alcohol as got a bad heart so nice try with your lies..your pub is victorian inside and this isn't the only review stating that your food is cold and we definitely will go somewhere else and any recommendations to people around West Bromwich won't include yours.💯 and online bullying..lmfaooooo.I've simply left a negative review which isn't against the law and the truth is obviously something you don't like.🤦‍♂️..your food was cold.your carpets are sticky and old..the place was cold and the staff were rude and the servings were rations.end of.oh and apparently refunded one person who turned up late.lmfaoooo.we came together in a taxi and a party.lmfaoooo again..it was just a meal on a Sunday which we all regret as the food was decomposing and should be on that film (frozen) and as for saying people like me don't deserve any service.🤔.hows about people like you provide a proper service then perhaps people like me wont leave negative feedback 👌.p.s everyone for £2 more go toby carvery burntree Island where the food is 1st class

Always a great carvery... only thing really is that the place needs an update in the dining area and higher table's as they are very low and tall people can't get their legs under comfortably.

Absolutely beautiful carvery everything cooked to perfection . Meat melted in your mouth . Lemon meringue pie was super tasty its been years since i had a carvery from here and this was far superior than the last will definately recommend and order again .

My food arrived today 2 tiny pieces of beef the food was cold the vegetables was very hard ! And undercooked I have this dinner a lot and today literally was very bad cold !!! Very unlike yourself to provide food like this

I enjoyed my meal but next time I will remember to eliminate from the vegetables as there were things on that I do not like, but did not distract from the things I ate they were very nice. Very good value as there was ample food.

Good place for food and drinks.

This place is stuck in the 80’s/90’s. There was a good range of veg available but there wasn’t enough of each item to feed a large family never mind a pub of people. The mash was lumpy, the roasts had a weird taste, the tiny stuffing ball was burnt and how they warm their Yorkshire puddings up is just plain wrong in fact I’m not sure it would conform to hygiene regulations. Only good thing about this place is the bar staff and their customer service. Would go here for a drink but never again for food.

Awful popped in for tea everything was dry sat there all day thr meat was hard. The turkey looked uncooked. The mash was even stale just sat there. No pie just really gone down hill. I won't be visiting again. Then the Chinese menu 7.80 for a chicken curry alone no rice or chips... that's extra 2.80 11.40 for a curry and chips that's a joke. I can get a curry rice chips and spring rolls from crustal in Wednesbury for 7.00!!! We had 2 carverys adult 1 child's dessert and 3 drinks complete waste of money so disappointed.

Food very good waiting staff not very good. The place needs a face lift and better clientle.

Wasn't entirely impressed with the food the service can sometimes be abysmal the management are rude and they treat their staff like slaves throwing orders out talking down to them. Drinks selection is good and the drinks are cheap deserts were nice too. The pub itself is clean but the management need to have some training in manners

We had a lovely stress free meal. Food was piping hot. Staff were lovely too. Definitely visiting again

The food was very nice but there were notices up about the restricted foods we could have,no waitress service that I saw,it was go to the counter and self serve.

Thus place serves good value for money food and the chef / carvers are really nice too

This pub is on the main road (hill top) it has it's own car park for quite a few cars. Inside a bar, dining room, party room and Carvery room. Nice clean atmosphere friendly staff, Chinese eat-in and take away. Kids menu available. Carvery has four types of meat and boiled vegetables, mash and gravy. Very delicious must try.

The first and last time I go here, I’ve never been to a place where you have to pay for your food first,also roasted potatoes rock hard to,lady who serves the carvery it’s very rude

Paid nearly £28.00 for two beef dinners Hardly any beef To many potatoes, mash, roast and New potatoes, hardly any veg Normally collect but car out of action Didn't enjoy meal at all
