OK food, not to my Indian tastes so definitely caters more to a Western palate. Staff were generally friendly and still had a good night. My bengan tasted a bit fishy which is not what I want as a vegetarian so I could not finish it but I liked the side option for the vegetarian dishes.

Nan is very soft and taste good. Sheik kebab taste was very good. Better to order individual items instead of set meal. Cash, card and NFC payment are available. Parking little trouble here and it’s a main junction. Staff are very polite and good in service.

I'm unsure how this restaurant is 'award winning'. I went for the first time and was really disappointed. The poppadoms were stale, I found a hair in the chutney. Some of the starters arrived cold so they took them away and when they came back, everything on the plate was piping hot, including the salad, so blatent microwave job. Long waits inbetween courses and very overpriced for what you get. The staff were friendly but I will not be returning.

Been here for the very first time. Travelled here for an hour hoping to find a great taste of the great kathmandu. But it was totally not worth it. The staff were not welcoming and ignorant. Had poppadoms as the appetiser first, the onions as a chutney didn’t looked fresh as they tasted bitter. Ordered, chilli chicken, momo and samosa as our starter. However the portion of chilli chicken was okay, but felt like overpriced and was tasteless. Momos fillings were not properly cooked. Chopped Salad (lettuce) served with samosas were 2-3 days old for sure as it had started loosing its colour and seem unappealing. We even added a talk with waiter about the taste of the starters. The waiter said, i will ask with the chef but was unheard. Then we decided not to have our mains over there and asked for the bill. Both the manager and waiter sounded offensive. Really disappointed!!!!

First time here last night. Was on a Christmas party. Looking forward to this as had heard great things. We arrived and was taken to our table. Given menus and asked for our drinks order we we gave. Not 2 minutes after sitting down, a grumpy old waiter came over and asked what we wanted. We asked if we could have a few more minutes to choose. Literally 2 minutes later, he came back. Very rudely, without even looking at us, said we had to order now and hurry up because they were busy. Never had this attitude before in any restaurant. I didn't have any chance to look through the menu. We were all rather taken aback by his attitude. We ordered. We had to! Our drinks arrived 5 minutes later. Food arrived soon after and was very nice. I'm afraid I wouldn't come back here purely because of the unprofessional and rude service we received.

We have visited the restaurant many times, but this time, we were visiting for a special event, a wine tasting event where they teamed up with Reserve wines. We were served 4 delicious taster meals, with a different wine to go with each one. First up was a chicken Momo. Paired with Baccharis cava brut. A lovely light cava that went perfectly with the delicately spiced momo. Next, we had Makhan Chara. Paired with Libiam, "La Rifra" Lugana. The food eas delicious, gorgeous buttery sauce. Complimented perfectly with the Lugana. Great combo. Third was Lamb Chwela. Paired with Uva Non Grata, Gamay. This is a spicy dish, toned down so as not to overpower the wine. The wine was slightly cooled and cut through the spice perfectly. Really enjoyed the two together. I love spice, so perfect. Last but not least was lamb methi. A deliciously herby curry. Could eat it all night. Paired with Siegel single vineyard cabernet sauvignon. This was a full-bodied wine that went so well with the curry. I could imagine finishing this wine in front of an open fire. We were lucky enough to have the owners join us, including the founder who has been there since 1986! Gavin from Reserve was fabulous as well. Perfectly chosen wine to go with the food. A lot of thought had clearly gone into it. I'm thrilled that the restaurant are going to stock some of these wines. I can't wait for my next visit.

This was £38.48 delivered on Uber Eats…. £35 without the delivery fees. It has to be the second worst value meal I’ve ever had. 2 Pappadums £2.70… Small and tasty but never that price for 2. Makhan Chara (Award Winning Dish) - £15.50! Insanely priced and bang average. 6 pieces of chicken (which did taste fresh) in a creamy tomato soup sauce. Never seen smaller packaging for a curry. Onion Pakora Bhaji (4 Pieces) - £6.55 Reasonably tasty at a push, but the size of gobstoppers or a falafel and the most I’ve ever paid for some. Criminal pricing. Kathmandu Special Naan - £4.35 Well made and good quality, I can appreciate what they’re doing but I was hoping for it to be tastier. Mango Chutney - £1.95 Same as anywhere else except very expensive. Pilau Rice - £4.35 The rice was nice and probably some of the freshest rice I’ve had from an Indian. I was massively disappointed by this food. It’s an expensive place so I thought I would try it for delivery on the spur of the moment. Glad I never went for a full sit down meal here like I had planned to.

We booked a table for four recently as we were meeting friends for dinner. We live locally but had not been before. We thought it must be good as it is always busy when we go past. The starters were acceptable but the main courses were awful. I had a lamb chop curry dish which was inedible. The meat was mutton and tough as leather. Despite the heavily seasoned chicken dish I could still taste it was an old broiler. My wife's prawn and spinach curry was completely tasteless. Yet the place was full of people seemingly enjoying themselves. How standards have fallen everywhere. They may be able to fool the average English person but they are not fooling another Indian. There are plenty of good Indian restaurants in Didsbury and South Manchester. This just isn't one of them. And the Nepalese twist? I didn't see one.

The waiter at the inception was rude, questioned the order,.. not acceptable conduct. The Special Chicken Kathmandu was special in that it was 90% Potato curry with three pieces of chicken and half and egg.. what’s special about that? The chicken tikka was over cooked and dry and hard. For the pricing this is truly awful food . Raised this issues with the owner/ manager who made lukewarm offers of better food next time and that staff were on holiday.. too pathetic to even listen to. Avoid if you want authentic food.. avoid if you want an Indian meal to savor . Honestly I’ve just wasted my money by staying to eat in this place. We asked for hot water to drink and we’re given a glass of warm tap water , that was poured straight out of a hot water tap.. suitable to drink? Don’t think so .

I have been going to this restaurant for 20 years. For the most part it has always been good value and good quality. Not really the case any more, prices have gone beyond reasonable for the portion size and food quality. Also gone is the...

This place used to be good, but appears to have gone seriously downhill. £27 (including £3 delivery) for a plain nan, a mixed tandoori starter (4 small pieces of lamb, two slightly larger chunks of boneless chicken breast, a small chicken leg and a piece...

Visited Tibetan Kitchen the day after it opened & we were the first in. Had watched a YouTube video about the branch in Chorlton & found out about the Manchester opening on Twitter so were keen to check it out. The owner & staff were very friendly & the whole place was really beautifully decorated & welcoming. We ordered momos, a chai, brown rice with three dishes (butternut squash & paneer, chickpeas & spinach, and deep fried cauliflower with stir fried veg), and a stirfried veg noodles. The chai was really lovely & sweet with ginger & spices. The momos had a nice texture but were a bit bland. We did like it with the chilli on the side & when we asked for more chilli, we were given some. The cauliflower was really delicious as well as the stirfried veg they were served on. The other two dishes were tasty but there wasn't alot of paneer with the butternut squash dish. Veg noodles were tasty but the veg were a bit overcooked so were soft rather than still retaining their crunch. The chilli sauce added to the flavour of the noodles. Overall, we were glad we visited & tried the dishes on offer. The ambience was really nice as well & is a good place to visit for something different.
