Went to Swirl on a Friday evening and it had a lovely buzzy atmosphere. The cocktails are fresh and fabulous and went well with the nibbles on offer. The service was warm and friendly and we all really loved it here. We will definitely return.

Awful! We went to this wine bar for lunch and ordered sandwiches. Firstly the sandwiches were awful! We ordered a cheese sandwich and opened it to find no cheese inside! The staff then went on to have an argument in front of us, leading to a waitress snatching a lunch off a customer because they gave it to the wrong table. For being a wine bar you would hope the staff could open a bottle of wine instead she struggled and handed it over to the customer to open! The food was slow, well below average and awful service! Don’t go!

If you want the quality of Mayfair with the beautiful backdrop of the Surrey Hills then this is where you need to go! I recently had a party here and I could not have been more happy with how it all went. Bosseau and his team were so accommodating and helpful. We were pretty much given carte blanche for decorating, a brilliant deal on a large charcuterie and cheese board and other snacks as well as a wine tasting competition on top of everything else this fabulous venue already has to offer. A really big thanks goes to the team for the wine tasting. They’d never done a wine tasting competition before, and nothing like the en masse tasting we requested, and yet everything was managed with grace and ease. It went down brilliantly and it was so professionally handled. The venue itself is gorgeous, it has the bougie elegance of Mayfair but it doesn’t make you feel uncomfortable. It’s warm and inviting and beautifully decorated. They have an area at the back where you can visit the wine wall and then a larger area at the front by the bar. People might hear wine wall and think it’s a gimmick… well it is, I suppose, if you think carefully selected wines that you can pour yourself is a gimmick. I’ll take that any day! The wines are all brilliantly picked, and the charcuterie and cheese you can have to pair with it is gorgeous. Even if you don’t fancy wine and cheese you can grab a pastry and a coffee. Or, if you’re feeling a bit more adventurous they have a delicious selection of cocktails to choose from too. Everyone at the event was so impressed with the wine, the venue and the food, as well as the cleanliness of the place (bathrooms included, because let’s face it that’s important too!) And the team… I would say the team make the venue, but that wouldn’t be fair. If the venue needed making the team would do that tenfold, but the place is already wonderful. The team add an extra dose of wonderful to really ramp up the experience to faultless. They read the room, they know what kind of customer you are and they work with that. They got involved with my party because that’s the sort of person I am but, equally, for my more reserved guests they knew a lighter touch was needed. It is hard to come by a team who understand their customers this well. Would I go there again, absolutely, no question. Would I have a party there again… how’s their diary looking same time, next year?

Amazing bar with great ambiance. We visited dorking for the first time and struck gold coming across this bar, shame we do not live in dorking. Would like to say thank you to Olivia who looked after us and helped us choose our wine

Stumbled across this bar by accident and so pleased we did. Not only were the cocktails great but there was a really cool and friendly vibe about the place. All created by Anastasia and her team. They were so smiley, welcoming and really knowledgeable about coffee beans to wine varieties and everything in between. What a great, unplanned, evening we had.

I stayed in the Vineyard Hotel during COVID before and the experience of that and the Visitors Centre was exemplary. Fast forward to 2025 when I returned with my parents and what a different experience it was. *Granted this latest review is about the Visitors Centre only (not the hotel)* Firstly the main café in the bright conservatory style room was devoid of food options, just soup and sandwiches were the savoury options! They did have lovely cake options however. Staff here were lovely though (just want to point that out). Move onto the gift shop where the staff were efficient, albeit a bit militant - so, lacked a bit of warmth which would make for a nicer experience in a countryside vineyard. Move onto the receptionist in the lobby who we were signposted to, to enquire about the tours and tastings. She appeared like back office staff at a desk hidden behind a computer. She didn't even offer any welcome as I approached. I had to commence the greetings before the query which made me feel distinctly like she wasn't the receptionist. She proceeded to engage me from behind the desk not making any attempt to come to the front desk which contained to make me feel like I was enquiring with the wrong person and was disturbing her. As I enquired about booking into the tasting and tour. She advised the tours don't start until the end of March and tastings are midday only. Completely contrary to what the website which stated the tours availability are "year round" and I told her this as it was the reason we decided to visit it that day. She seemed a little surprised but generally non fussed. Like "oh does it say that" well that's not correct. No apology for the misinformation nor any urgency to take note and ensure the information is corrected on the website. I was so unimpressed with the customer service and felt, for the visitors centre, they didn't want any visitors at all! Come on Denbies, you can do better.
