Great food and BYOB from Tesco across the road. What's not to like?

The food is bland and needs some spice added and disappointing, the staff appear keen to rush you through your meal which is disappointing. Perhaps they need to understand the needs of their customers!

Boring and bland, all the dishes taste the same, the meat is dry and tough.. Honestly had better microwave meals. Should know better to order Indian food outside of London but every few years or so I try again in the hopes things have improved and end up regretting it.

This is the best curry restaurant I know. The staff are so friendly and the food is always excellent. It's bring your own alcohol so don't forget to bring your own. I would definitely recommend it but better to book first for Fridays and Saturdays.

Myself and my family from Ashtead have eaten here many times but due to the awful food ,rude staff and a very long wait we will not be returning.. we booked for a table of six last night for my husband’s birthday.. we waited for an hour and forty for our order to be taken .. We called the waiters many times but were just ignored..When we finally got our food some of the breads were missing eventually arrived when we had almost finished our meal .. three times we asked politely for our bill and eventually I had to go to the counter.. I feel the just couldn’t cope on the night ..not one apology given .. We were treated like we were a nuisance.. what a shame

Nothing spicy, even those described as 2 or 3 chilli. A bit bland overall. Complimentary Aubergine paccora was very nice

Great food, great service, prices are a little high, but I guess you get what you pay for. No licence means bringing your own beer, but this is offset by no corkage charge. If I could have had an ice cold Kingfisher I'd have given 5 stars.

What an absolute disaster!!!! Just put £66 of curry in the bin and am having toast as the food that did arrive was stone cold and inedible 🤬 Sooooo angry as it ruined what should have been a fun and enjoyable meal. We paid £66 for 4 currys, 3 rice, naan bread and onion barjhi, one of the currys that was in the order didn't even get put in the bag, what makes this worse is that the takeaway order was 20 minutes late after I arrived to collect. HOW THIS PLACE HAS REVIEWED AS 4.4 STARS IS A JOKE!! We have spent since last year trying to find a decent takeaway curry and MOGUL DYNASTY goes down as the absolute worst. The name Mogul dy NASTY is right it was worse than NASTY though it was inedible. Don't waste your money find another place and take my advice this place is horrendous 😡

Food was very nice no complaints with that. Some of the staff just didn’t seem very welcoming and I have never been rushed so much to leave any Restaurant before. Probably would not return.

Appalling service literally just went in the door table for on... OWNER: YEAH YEAH SIT THIER POINTS and walks off I sat down and got back up to get a menu as their wasn't one on the table sat back down and literally opened it up guy arguing with his staff in different language after waiting nearly 20 minutes for him to come over to take my order (no one else was in their) I gave up and just left he was in the kitchen I think and never came to me so I just left Terrible service straight from the start ended up going to a place in Epsom

I've just ordered a takeaway from here - really disappointed 😞 the food was alright but not hot as expected and the order was wrong and when I called to say we were missing things we had paid for - I was told that I had not ordered it even though he read back my order to me 🤦‍♀️ I was welcome to go and get it but I would be charged. Its a shame as we've used them many times but will be going elsewhere

Ordered take away, excellent food and kind staff!

Went there with the family for an early father's day meal. Because we went at dinner time on a Saturday we had the place to ourselves. Food was really nice we all enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend.

Avoid this place.dry chicken,onion bajis were soggy like they had been microwaved,overall the entire meal was bland!no complementary sauces or popadoms had to pay for it all unlike other curry houses in the area.not only was the food bland and overcooked the prices are extortion!!When calling the manager to complain he just wasn’t interested!!terrible!do not use!!

Last night not as good as previously. The prawns dish hardly had any prawns and also got the wrong naan bread.

Best Indian restaurant in the area

This was the first time we have visited this restaurant and we had a lovely meal. The food was excellent and the staff were very attentive. We will definitely go back again.

Service awful, received drinks halfway through main course despite a good few requests to different members of staff! Staff not very warm or friendly, too many people rammed in, noise was terrible!! Food was not good!!! Absolutely tasteless, very disappointing - not one of the 6 meals ordered were enjoyed , chewy chicken and tasteless sauce, onion bhajis no better than supermarket sold! Wouldn’t go back

My go to, family have been visiting for 30+ years and always on point

Since moving to Ashtead this has turned into our go-to Saturday night curry house of choice. Consistently great food both in restaurant and takeaway, highly recommended!

In the past we have used both The Moghul Dynasty & the Five Rivers in Leatherhead for our takeways. Both are excellent, however we started to notice the portions were far smaller in the Moghul than in the Rivers. This makes the Moghul far more expensive, since a takeway from the 5 Rivers lasts for more than one meal. We defrost what was left over & frozen & simply buy one main dish.& reheat the rest. In my opinion, The 5 Rivers is almost half the price & just as good in the long run.

This is now our go-to Indian for our Friday night takeaway! Just eaten the most delicious Prawn Dhansak. They do the best Keema Peas (which I don't often see on the menu outside of Bradford). Prompt & courteous delivery as well. Sorry no pictures - we ate it too quickly!

Nice food and lovely staff. I recommend naga chicken curry. Bot spicy but enough to kill any flu or virus you may have.

Absolutely dreadful food and we massively regret not using our usual reliable Ashtead Balti where the food is ALWAYs so fresh and delicious. Very rare that I write such a bad review as this but we are extremely annoyed that this food cost nearly £40 and has ended up in the food recycling bin! Everything that we ordered was stale, over cooked, over fried! All the starters were swimming in batter, breadcrumbs and oil, hard to find the so called prawns or chicken. And how can you mess up a simple popadom ? It resembled a floppy, pale, yellow dishcloth!!! The main course (the so called ‘chefs speciality’ ) was so bland, the chicken was tough and overcooked and the overall dish was tasteless!!. Very disappointed !

Very good lovely food good service

Classic Indian food - always a favourite with my family, have been going here for about 30 years! Now has a "bring your own bottle" policy, but there is a Tesco Express opposite so easy to stock up on Cobras before ordering!

Fabulous food. Such delicate flavours. The menu is very extensive and gives clear explanations of what to expect from each dish. I had a chicken and mango curry with keema naan and there were whole pieces of mango in my curry as well as plenty of chicken. The sauce was very delicate and creamy.

Lovely Saturday evening for 13 of us! The restaurant was full with other diners too, but food, service and staff all wonderful. Highly recommended.

They have delicious food and open 7 days a week

I ordered online and it took over an hour to be delivered there wasn’t a phone call to say it was going to be late. I had to call the restaurant a couple of times to see where my food was. Advise to the restaurant: take away the online order feature off the website if it’s not affective because it really ruined my evening and the food I ordered arrived cold.

Always great, always has been, one of the best curry places in Surrey.

Quite expensive considering have to take your own booze and food nice but not amazing. Also v rammed in despite signs advocating social distancing which the staff didn't even do and most were wearing masks incorrectly.

Visited a few weeks ago. You need to bring your own alcohol. Service friendly and the food was excellent. Covid friendly as well.

Having dined in the restaurant and enjoyed the food I decided to order a take-away. It was the worst Indian take-away I have ever had. Arrived cold (despite me collecting it) and was very bland and tasteless. Seems like other reviewers have had a similar experience with the take-away too. Really disappointed with the take-away , following the postive dining experience only a few months before.

I have been to this restaurant a couple of times before and this evening we ordered a Chicken Curry that was delicious! My Briyani had a lot of meat in it and we got extra Pompdoms! I definitely recommend the Mogul Dynasty!

Ordered via Deliveroo this evening, but with delivery handled by the restaurant. The meal arrived after 1 hour 40 minutes - i.e. an hour later than expected. No updates given via the app, phone not answered either to me or Deliveroo agents (who were not very helpful). When the meal arrived it was perfectly edible, with nice naan, but overall a bit bland and average. Hopefully this was a one-off.

Went with 9 friends we were very impressed with food and service.

Maybe we chose the wrong meals. We both ordered marsala dishes. However, these weren't in an Indian masala sauce but something akin to the same concocted non Indian sweet red sauce that is typical of the dish that one would pick up in a supermarket ready meal. Everything else was great the Bombay Aloo, papads, pickles, rice and paratha. If there is a next time we'll order a Madras or vindaloo to compare. Having said that the service was great.

Brilliant service and food is always excellent and really nice to be able to sit in again. They have taken great precautions in being covid secure and it felt really safe.

Just had our socially distanced takeaway. It was delicious. King Prawn Muglai, Chicken Tikka Dupiaza, vegetable samber with lemon rice. Brilliant! The lemon rice was really lemony.

We all had a lovely meal. Very reasonably priced & great service 👍

The Mogul has been in the village for as long as I can remember. It is a well established frequently used restaurant in the area. What makes it distinct is the friendliness of all the staff, they seem to know everyone walking through the door. Their greetings are genuine, setting you in good mood as you sit to eat. The food, typically authentic, hot for the braves, and mild for the uninitiated. It is also of good quality, and tasty enough to tickle the buds. The free snack, as you wait to be serve, and a free liquor at the end of the meal, is a nice touch and makes the place special, if you like freebies. So if you want to venture into your first or try another version of Indian food, this is the place for you. Enjoy.

Great and different food, fair value, super service. Excellent overall experience

Bit off the beaten track but tried for the first time; very nice ambience and staff not over-fussy. Tried standards to get a feel, prawn madras and lamb rogan - my lamb in particular plentiful and tender. Average popadums, naan and sag aloo. Mains not that "colourful", but tasty. Overall decent value for money. FYI, £5 for bottle of cobra. Would visit again. Three stars is good in my book.

Long-standing restaurant with a decent standard of food.

The longest serving curry restaurant in Ashtead. Conveniently located a short walk from the station. The staff are friendly and it feels like coming home whenever I can visit. The food selection is great and you get a complimentary fried aubergine starter.

It was acceptable. Didn't have a large enough sample of dishes to comment more fully.

This is my favourite restaurant lovely friendly staff and beautiful Indian food. The best curry in Surrey.

Overall good. Been a few times for takeaway and always made to feel welcome as soon as you walk in. There is a number of Indians in the area and this is near the top for me.

There are so many Indian restaurants that are lookalike but this one is different. I understood that first by just looking at their menu. You’ll see many options that wouldn’t be typically found in an Indian restaurant menu. And then of course the taste was great. My favourite was some kebab (I don’t remember the exact name) made of lamb mince fried in ghee. It was delicious.
