A lovely friendly village pub. Myself and three friends visited the pub for an evening meal on Friday 16th September. We were very surprised by the excellent quality of the food and the attentive service provided by the very friendly waitress and barman. Despite not being local to the village we were made to feel at home and were glad to spend our evening there. Our only disappointment was the opening hours on the Saturday afternoon- you missed a few people calling in for a pint after we squeezed in for last orders! We look forward to visiting the pub again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good solid local. Thanks again for a lovely evening.

Staying at nearby Yurtshire, The Grantley was in walking distance so we booked for Sunday lunch. From phoning in our preorders to dining the whole experience was faultless. Everyone was extremely welcoming and the food was just delicious, cooked and served to a very high standard. Would highly recommend, will definitely be back, just wished we lived nearer!

Nice food well cooked. Want aware of the cast wandering around the restaurant until it appeared on the ledge at the side of my face. Cute if you like cats and the hairs that go with them in your dining area? Some do I don't! Beers good well kept much more of an eatery than a pub.

Booked for Sunday lunch, lovely hosts. Inside is beautifully laid out with outdoor areas both front & back. Very welcoming, great menu. You can tell the food is local because it tastes so fresh. Highly recommended.

Nice original style dining pub with super home cooked food. Fish pie was great, big chunks of salmon, haddock and smoked haddock, delicious.

A lovely place to relax. The food is truly amazing with a great menu and plenty of variety when it comes to drinks. There is always a warm welcome from Eric and Val. The Grantley Arms is definitely worth a visit!

Lovely 3 course meal well presented, good service,good quality food. A tad on the expensive side but worth it for a special occasion. Not over large proportions for those with big appetites but certainly sufficient.

One of the best haddocks I've had. The batter was brilliant. Ordered the complete lunch beforehand and served promptly with enough space between courses.

Lovely food and staff. There was a slight hiccup with paying as card machine did not work for 15 minutes. Other than this it was a lovely lunch. Thank you too for allowing me to read at the table while waiting for the rest of family to turn up.

1st time back after Covid and it's still as good as ever. We had fish and chips, batter light and crispy and the fish delicious

The affable Eric is the quintessential welcoming landlord with a friendly chat and informality that makes you immediately at your ease. The food had to be pre ordered but that only added to the anticipation of well cooked tasty fair at middling prices. The young server was polite and attentive and deserved a tip if only for the ridicule she endured due her lack of direction....

Very accommodating. Made us lunch that wasn't even on the menu. Very nice place with a very friendly cat 🙂

We had a super take-away the other night from the Grantley Arms.We were able to choose from the main menu . The four of us chose a variety of dishes, all of which were absolutely superb . We have been regulars at the Grantley for about ten years , and it never fails to please ! Graham .

Stopped here on the way to walk through Hackfall Woods and I couldn't have been more impressed with the service. The pan fried chicken with mushroom, spinach and parmesan risotto was delicious and my boyfriend had gammon which was also lovely. Great range of leaflets for places to visit in the local area and also a lovely touch that they sell homemade soaps and hand creams which smelt amazing. Would definitely pay another visit

Slow service- we got our mains 2 hours after arriving. A nice place if you're in no hurry but not for a quick bite!

The owners, atmosphere and food are simply delightful in every respect. The menu has so much to offer that we ate at this lovely pub 3 out of 4 evenings. We highly recommend this restaurant and feel fortunate to have had this experience.

Excellent neal & friendly service. Menu to suit varied tastes: plenty of meat, always a fish dish of the day but not the usual token fish-on our visit delicious pan fried hake was available & there was happily a delicious fish pie without seafood or shellfish. A very nice a atmosphere & enjoyable start to a celebratory weekend.

Twelve of us had a fantastic meal here after Christmas, couldn't fault it lovely home cooked. In fact it was that nice we booked again for new years day. Staff lovely and friendly you wont be disappointed.And thank you for holding on to Toms wallet that he didn't no he had dropped.

Had a 1st class Sunday lunch there today. 3 courses for around £25.00 per person. Every course was delicious and very good value for money. Well worth the visit! Eric and Val all your hard work has paid off. All the best. Sarah Sawford

The most delicious food you will ever eat!!!

Whilst on holiday in the Ripon area my husband and I visited the Grantley Arms for lunch and what a most delicious meal we enjoyed. On the strength of this we treated our family to breakfast. I cannot say too much about the wonderful time we were given by Val and Eric. The food was superb, the service exemplary and we can't wait to revisit at our earliest opportunity. The best pub we have ever been to. Thank you.

For anyone wanting to set up a successful pub business, look no further than the Grantley Arms for inspiration. Situated off the beaten track in the small, quaint, Yorkshire village of High Grantley this pub is the definition of excellence. As if visiting the home of a close friend or relative, on entering you are always welcomed with a smile. The carpeted bar area is simply and beautifully decorated with the comfort of a real log fire. There is an offering of two guest ales, always served and kept to perfection along side an extensive drinks menu. The polite service is impeccable. Once your order has been placed your table will be laid without a place mat or item of cutlery out of place. The promise generated from a wonderful menu is certainly not dashed when your food arrives. Delicate, manageable portions where each flavour element has been carefully though about make for sumptuous dishes. The homemade chips and crisps are simply unbeatable. After a number of visits over a number of years I am yet to have a bad experience. The consistency of this family run establishment is second to none. Their success in providing faultless service, drink and food is not celebrated it simply comes as second nature. By far the best pub I have ever been to.
