Lovely pub, in a great location, with good food offer. Charming staff who went to the trouble of returning a much love scarf to me by post to Brighton.

The plan was to stop off here for a drink! As my partner and myself were on a long walk, however the experience was extremely disappointing. I had popped to the bathroom while my partner headed to the bar. Upon joining him at the bar he was still waiting to be served! No issue with waiting to be served and happy to wait in line. However neither of the four staff behind the bar, including what appeared to be the manager made any sort of effort to acknowledge my partner in my absence and toward myself when I became present. A simple ‘will be right with you’, eye contact to acknowledge our presence would have been courteous, at the very least basic customer service. They continued to serve others that had then joined after ourselves, so at this point we felt very unwelcome. It is a shame as we had previously visited during the summer, for dinner, and had a lovely experience in the outdoor seating area. Needless to say we took our custom somewhere else, so glad we did as we stumbled upon a pub, that understands how to welcome their customers and provide a friendly atmosphere.

Had a great lunch here today. Good food and service. Along with the bill my friend and I were given a heart chocolate and a red rose for Valentine’s Day, what a lovely touch really made our day!!!! 😊❤️

We were very impressed with this establishment. A warm welcome from the young lady serving us. The food arrived hir and was very tasty. Puddings were superb. The service was excellent. Very good wheelchair accessibility. All in all a very pleasant family lunch. Thank you.

We took mum for her 51st birthday. Plenty of car parking space, greeted by a very lovely and funny gentleman who seemed to be running the restaurant. The staff were polite and great food choice. Food was absolutely delicious including the desert. Which without request they made a happy birthday tray and sang too which was just incredible for mum. They didn’t have to go above and beyond but they did and we are very grateful for what you did. Will definitely be returning in 2025 for food and drinks, what a lovely restaurant!

We enjoyed a leisurely dinner with family and friends in an oak outdoor pod. Lovely to have space to relax and enjoy the food alongside conversation. Our waiter was upbeat, helpful and friendly even bringing our food with a smile in the rain! Great flavours and good choice to suit all tastes. We will be back!

I'm presently writing a review ONLY of the online booking service and T&C's and to let the Pub know that they've missed a booking because of this. We've had nice meals here previously, but we've not been for a couple of years. Tried to book a table online but the booking system will only allow you a 90 minute slot and wants your date of birth. Seriously?? I'm sorry but neither of these things would make me want to book. Why not ask if over 18? Why capture other sensitive personal data? And 90 minutes? One of our party is over 90, she wouldn't order and eat a full meal in that time.

We booked a table outside so we could take our English Setter with us. When we got there the rain had set in. The chef appeared and immediately invited us to sit inside and to bring the dog so a damp evening rescued. Great decor...
