Lovely food, nice staff. Salads are really fresh, fish and chips great, pizza lovely. Great place to take away

I ordered a lamb/chicken combination and a small magueretta pizza. The kebab is the worst I've ever had the chicken was dry and the lamb was disgusting full of fatty chewy bits. Even the cucumber was dry. The pizza went in the bin it was disgusting just didn't taste right. To make things worse they have a cheek to charge £9.80 for it. Will never go there again.

We have had fish & chips from here twice since moving to the village and cannot find fault. Generous portions. Fish was fresh and well prepared, chips just right and not too greasy. The side of garlic mushrooms was pretty good too. A 5 star hygiene rating too. Can see us becoming regular customers.

My partner ordered a large chicken Donna and lamb Donna kebab in pitta with all salad turns out that there was a STONE in his food when he was eating it he found it mixed in with the Donna meat!! When I called the shop and asked to speak with the manager the man on the phone claimed too of been the manager was incredibly rude on the phone. He said because he had started eating his food that there was nothing he could do.. They couldn’t issue a refund for his money to be returned because he had started to eat the food! Just be cautious when eating from here wouldn’t want it happening to anyone else especially don’t want this to happen to a child could be very dangerous..

Food is good and friendly enough. Been there a lot of times now as it's local and convenient. When putting an order in via the app it takes ages for them to receive it. Also sometimes (10% of the time) I get home and something is missing, it's not disastrous but I want what I ordered

Lovely tasty food ordered meat donor and chips tasted amazing and a fair size portion for what I paid, the only problem is after I ate the meat donor although it tasted really good at the time it has led me to be having really bad stomach pains since and I also keep farting and my girlfriend doesn’t appreciate it.

Really bad! I ordered fish and chips and a kebab and the fish batter was mostly soggy! The places where it was crispy it was really chewy? And the chips weren’t very nice I ordered fat chips and french fries they were both not crispy and not fluffy at all… The kebab wasn’t very good either just passable and terribly made (thrown together) All of it was very much overly greasy and made me and my family feel terrible almost straight away The food tasted like it was re heated or just sat on the hot counter for too long! (It needs to be thrown away after 2 hours of sitting under the hot plate) It’s a shame this is the only take away for miles

Didn't get the chillies I asked for with my Chicken Donor Kebab but other than that it was very nice 🙂

A+ Absolutely amazing. I moved to area recently but never tried their food. After a long day at work I was really tired to even make a dinner so I thought to give them a try. Bought a chicken wrap with garlic mayo sauce + chips. The taste was absolutely amazing & chips were really flavourful. The customer service is really good & they treat you in really polite way. I’ve found my perfect on-the-go meal place. Highly Recommended ....

This was our first takeaway from this fish & Chip shop. We had 3 cod & a medium portion of chips. The fish was perfect, freshly cooked to order, lots of flavour & the skin had been removed. A senior family member said it was the best piece of code she had had in years. Will back again. Thank you

Horrendous, worst takeaway food I've had in years. BBQ wings turned my stomach.. Look, smell, touch.. Went nowhere near my mouth so couldn't comment on taste. Donner meat also disgusting, tasted old/stale/sour Entire order straight into the bin.

Ordered a kebab wasn’t even cooked looked like someone jus took a poo in my kebab , if I could leave a 0 star believe I would … do not eat from here like ur stomach depends on it!!

Had a portion of chips which can only be described as a very small portion of scrapings from the bottom of the fryer and cooked in fat which repeats on you all night, not for me I'm afraid.

The only thing I would say when ordering is to ask for chip shop chips if required. This wasn't given as an option. The kebab shop section actually cooked fresh frozen chip especially. Even though there were fresh chip shop chips there ...only a regular would know this ... important note. Food was good and plentiful..

Good for kebab takeaway, Ive ordered before and never had a bad takeaway. The addition of fish n chips sounds good, Not had the fish yet, but I prefer the chips they now do. I think the lamb shish is really good

I ordered three kebabs with fries and no sauce as usual for myself and two friends. On delving in we were aware that they were all drenched in tomato ketchup which I did not order as it brings me out in a rash and one of my friends is allergic to tomato. I took the matter up with Just Eat who will not believe me and have been exceedingly rude. They keep saying about refund or compensation which is not what I want but a credit.

The food was brilliant and arrived warm. Cheesy chips was delicious and piping hot. Only 4 stars because the pizza took a while but after calling them it was quickly sorted and the manager on the phone was very polite. The delivery man was very cheerful despite it being cold out.

Best fish and chips in the area. Firm fish,light crispy golden batter and great chips. All piping hot Delicious.

Kebab meat half cold & dried up, very greasy, I had to warm it up in the microwave in the hope it would be better! Not so,. Lamb Shish gross, cheap cuts of lamb and had to chew a million times before I could swallow! No taste at all and also very greasy, garlic bread with cheese?! What a joke, no cheese to even speak of, burnt up and hard.. takes the pi** , really is the last time I will EVER go there! And they’re about to venture into fish n chips! They haven’t got a clue!!

My wife and I ordered a couple kebabs for delivery, we ordered chicken shish and lamb donner with salad and a chicken donner/ lamb donned with salad and chilli sauce . It was delivered well within the stated time and both kebabs were lovely, and for under £20 .

Ordered two large kebabs, arrived within the hour, as I was told. However, on arrival, both were literally stone cold. The Pitta bread was raw. It was greasy and disgusting. I called them back and I was told, “we did your kebabs the way we do them all mate”. You live 3 miles away so surely you cannot expect your food hot! Wow, be warned. Anyway, we warmed the food up, it was greasy and tasteless. Absolutely vile. I never leave reviews but tonight was beyond belief!!

Got a delivery tonight to our hotel a kebab and a wrap great quality and very fast well mannered delivery (sorry we had no cash) Really creamy garlic sauce and nippy chilli sauce Only downside was I couldn't find how to order an extra pitta bread.. Thanks again and I wish all kebabs up where I stay tasted like this

Food was terrible. “Hot wings” were covered in patches of soggy batter. The wings were also slimey and undercooked. They put the wrong sauce in the wrap and the food was cold.

I Had a mixed kebab 5 days ago and still have a massive stomach ache and chronic diarrhoea!!! FIND AN ALTERNATIVE PLACE TO EAT!!!! 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 .

Discusting food (if that's what you call it). Always cold. The 'meat' is like chewing rubber. Just read everyone else's reviews and you'll get a good idea why not to visit.

Just ordered 2 stuffed crust Bovingdon special pizzas ,my god, they were gorgeous!!! Easily the best pizza we had for a long time, really good. Delivery, as always, very quick. Well Done

Uber Eats said they delivered from 3am so placed an order and they cancelled it

We have used Bovingdon kebab for quite a few years but our last order from them was a huge disappointment. The order was cold & wrong with some of the order missing & when we called to let them know, they argued that we had ordered incorrectly & the fault was all ours, what they hadn't realised was that their delivery driver accidentally left the order ticket with our delivered food with the proof that what we ordered was not what we received & once they realised they were wrong they became very rude & totally disinterested in helping us. Sadly we will not use them again.

I’ve just order a chicken Donner meat and koffte lamb meat payed 7.90 for it and the portion size was really small considering I payed quite a lot for it won’t be coming very disappointed.

Absolutely disgraceful food sent to us tonight. Lamb kebab burnt to a crisp, no meat remained, its unthinkable how someone could think it would pass as an edible meal. We ordered a few times before, had some cold kebabs but didnt take it further. Decided to take it further after what was sent tonight and the guy who answered was rude and aggressive. Avoid, these guys clearly cant cook or dont care what gets sent out to customers.

If you have the app for this kebab shop it’s really easy to order. The 3 mixed meat kebab is the way to go. There’s a comment box on the app for any specific requirements. Ie chilli sauce /yes or no to salad etc etc. Highly recommended the 3 mixed meat kebab with garlic /chilli sauce and salad, not forgetting jalapeños.😋😋

Only been here once ordered a chicken kebab and when I got home to eat it was like minced undesirable taste not been there again and never will garbage food.

Completely disappointed with the attitude with the owner on the phone when I asked about the un hygienic state of the hot wings which was not hot and was told to buy hot sauce with hot wings

Slow unattentive man behind the counter that I had to call to get his attention who A- didn't know my order B- didn't know the prices and C- proceeded to overcharge me! Food was okay though.

Waiting 1 hour 45 minutes for food to be delivered and when arrived. Burned bits missing won't be using again.

This takeaway needs to invest in something to transport their food in. Again cold food and they said that they could deliver again for us but it would be the same. Try Best Kababs in Hemel, 4 miles away and it will be hotter when it arrives. I live 400 yards from Bovingdon kebabs. Sorry Bovingdon kebabs but you need to do better.

We have ordered chicken shish and veggie shish from Bovingdon Kebabs for about 4years. Never had a problem. The food is very good, tasty and also consistent. My family LOVE the shish veg! Food is sometimes collected by us and sometimes delivered, either way always fuss free. Lovely team of people. Recommend anytime.

I have only tried the food here once and found their kebabs very good and delivered on time . I would recommend.

Shocking experience ordering from here was told my food would be 40min phoned up after an hour and 15 min to ask if they could tell me how long the food was going to be and the man on the phone started swearing and getting aggressive never known anything like this shocking customer service

Never had a bad takeaway from here, it is what it is. My son love the chicken nuggets and I love the chicken Donna but the burgers are good too.

Great friendly staff, same guy everytime. Been going here for years, normally just grab some chips when I need a bit but also had their kebabs and there pretty good.

Great service, food delicious & the staff are always friendly & helpful.

Pizza was 25 minutes late, despite ordering for collection on JustEat over an hour ago. Apparently our original pizza had been completely burned in the oven, was told it would be 5 minutes late, so we went for a walk and came back. Still no pizza for another 15 minutes. Pizza was good but we were refused any compensation or any complimentary side orders for the poor service. Its a shame as we've been regular customers for years. Dissapointing

They don’t even deserve one star! Don’t bother going here unless you want to waste your money! I’m so pee’d off.. I saw the guy (who speaks and understands NO English) bit dodgy that!! was carving the doner meat, I said please do not give me the outside layer as it’s dried up, please give me the layer underneath.. ok he said.. so when I get home the food was COLD the portion size was wrong and ALL the meat was the dried up bloody outer meat! The mushrooms were absolutely dripping with oil 🤮🤢🤮🤢🤮🤢🤮 I just couldn’t believe it, I gave some to the dog and the rest went in the bin! NEVER EVER AGAIN !!!!!

AVOID. We picked an order up and when we got back home our order was all wrong and things were missing. They had got our burger orders wrong, so we phoned up to tell them. The man was extremly rude on the phone. By this time our food was stone cold. He refused to give us new food but instead only the missing item and correct burger. When he arrived he ordered us to give him back the burger in exchange for the new one! Someone is going to have a manky recycled burger, so watch out!!

out of sheer hunger we had to try this place for something to eat as the party we were attending had no food only chocolate so we opted for chicken kebabs salad and fries.The service was friendly and polite and there were around 5 of them serving and cooking. Food tasted fresh was good and filled out empty stomachs so we were grateful for them being open at that time and later.

This place used to be excellent. However my last 4 orders have been rubbish, but I always given them the benefit of the doubt. 3 orders were completely wrong and last nights one was stone cold. There were always sizeable orders for 4 people. I did not bother to call back as could not be bothered to wait. Unfortunately they have lost my business as I have given them plenty of opportunity and there are lots better and cheaper locally.

Coleslaw salad always smells bad / old, not fresh. I ve called the restaurant and made complaint it. I ve said 'i like your main(kebabs)' but sides are terrible /old smells bad and drinks always comes hot. (Coke etc...) I think the restaurant does not have a fridge for bottled drinks.I hope they would be more careful for sides and serve the drinks cold in future.
