My wife and I popped in here for lunch, it was quite busy and only the owner on duty! Staff were attentive and service was efficient. We both opted for soup and a sandwich along with Diet Coke. All came well prepared and the soup was warm and tasty. I also had a snowcake. Overall worth a visit.

Visited for coffees as had previously had a wonderful afternoon tea delivered by Gossip Shop at a friends which was do fresh n delicious. So thought it would be nice to drop in for quick coffee. However I’m sorry to say this was one of the worst coffees I’ve had so weak and tasteless and the cafe was very cold so won’t be back .

Ordered afternoon tea as a treat for a socially distanced garden visit and what a treat it was delicious sandwiches and the always gorgeous mini cakes. No fussy eaters so I didn’t make any special requests but I believe the option was there to vary selections, portions were extremely generous. This was a fabulous experience during lockdown and a great option for anyone wanting to treat a loved one.

Start with the delicious healthy homemade lentil soup then treat yourself to one of a selection of yummy cakes, everything is homemade and you can really taste the difference even the coffee is ground and mixed to their own recipe!! I have ordered cakes for special occasions and would highly recommend the red velvet cake although my daughter's favourite is the chocolate cake. You can really tell this is a family run business- great place to go with the family or pop in on your own and you will get the same friendly welcome.

Quaint, charming ...you get the idea. This is a sweet little tea room style place with sandwiches homebakes soup and warm drinks. Table service window seats and well priced and very clean. Really just a cosy wee place giving a basic service really well. As a child I loved this place with its almost secret back entrance winding staircase and window seats to come here for a cake and drink was a treat. It still is because of the lovely food and service, but the stairs are an access issue and the only real reason for the four stars and not five and while I acknowledge that there is really nothing that anyone can do about that I can see it being an issue for those with prams, wheelchairs or who just find stair particularly hard.

We visited the gossip shop in the town after viewing all the comments on trip advisor regarding their home baking and afternoon tea serving When we asked for afternoon tea we were very disappointed to be told by the proprietor that we that we had to book a day In advance for this request due to a special order of cakes that we would select during the tea, The proprietor couldn’t have been any more helpful attending to the other elements of food IE sandwiches and homemade cakes that we order during our snack, we had no complaints regarding the food and the service the tea room had a pleasant atmosphere, pity about the afternoon tea.

Have been coming here for as long as I can remember when in Dumbarton. Coffee is wonderful, cakes and sweet treats are too good to pick a favourite. If you haven't been for a while or haven't ever been then I highly recommend that you pop in soon.End of the high street at the taxi rank and up the stairs I promise you won't regret it.

My husband and I usually go here for coffees or light lunch snacks when we are in Dumbarton. The menu isn't large but all the food is freshly prepared, the delicious soup is always piping hot, the scones are made on a daily basis, the other baking is also as lovely as it looks, and their home-made fudge is in a class of its own. The staff are always very attentive, the whole place is very clean and It is well worth climbing a few stairs to get there.

Dropped in here with my boss and a colleague to grab something to eat before a site visit. Theservice is great and it's very clean. We all had the lentil soup which was excellent, I had a toastie which was decent and someone else has corned beef and pickle sandwiches which were also good. Reminded me of food your granny would make at home which isn't a bad thing!Their selection of home made cakes looked excellent.

I visit the Gossip shop regularly and it's always fantastic. It's nice to get nice hearty homemade soup and fresh baked cakes. Go in just as they open to get the scones just out the oven. With melted butter and jam it's heavenly.Their store ground unique blend filter coffee is the best in Dumbarton. It's nice to see a family business still going in hard times. Keep up the good work.

Like many towns, Dumbarton has suffered from changing shopping habits and we were not optimistic in finding somewhere for a quick bite to eat. This little coffee shop is tucked away around the corner and up some stairs. Toasties and soup were tasty and homemade. Staff were friendly, it was good value and the toilet was clean. What more can you ask ?
