予約は最初ネットから直前に試みた。16時から16時半のアフタヌーンティーとHPに記されていてどういうことかと思ったら、16時から15分刻みで結婚式のバンケットよろしく一斉にサーブされるというスタイルだった。HPから予約するとシャンパン付きのプランしか表示されなかったが、「テーブルのみ予約」で予約して普通のアフタヌーンティーを注文することも可。それがハッキリしなくて結局のところホテルのコンシアージを通しての予約となった。ほぼ満席だったがレセプションは当日の予約も受け付けていた。部屋はホテルのバンケットルームという感じ。雰囲気のある場所ではない。ホテル自体の内装が結構良かったため余計にそう感じたのかもしれない。スタッフの愛想は良く親切だ。ゴーリングオリジナルブレンドを注文し、トラディショナルアフタヌーンティーがサーブされるのを待った。最初にサーブされたのは豆のムースにりんごのゼリーを乗せた小さな一品。これは普通に美味しかった。次に三段トレーがサーブされる。最初にサンドウィッチに手を伸ばす。具の塩味が際立つサンドウィッチだ。お腹が空いていれば全部食べただろうが、スコーンを食べなきゃと2つほど各一口ずつかじってやめた。お次はスコーン。見た瞬間にこれは恐らく・・・と思った通りだった。簡単に言うと口の中の水分を全部取られるようなタイプのスコーン。粉っぽいタイプのスコーンだ。それも暖かい訳でもなくすごく中途半端な状態でサーブされている。これは頑張って1つ食べた。そしてケーキにトライ。見た目からして・・・と思ったがやっぱりだった。見た目も「外国のケーキ」で（要は繊細な感じは全くない）味もその通り（要は甘いだけ）。こちらも一口ずつ2品ほどかじってフィニッシュ。一緒に行った面々も同様。一人はやおら携帯を取り出し写真を見せ、前日にふらりと入った店で食したスコーンの美味しさを熱く語りだし、もう一人は滞在中のホテルのケーキがなかなかだったと、これまた写真と共に披露してくれる。私自身が思い出したのは前日に訪れた某有名紅茶店で見たファンシーなケーキだった。要は「イギリスだからこんなもの」とは全く言えないということだ。これが豪華な内装で芸術品に囲まれながら・・・なら「場所代」の50ポンドと無理やり納得することもできるのだが（至って普通のバンケットホール）。本場英国の紅茶はどうかといえば、これも至って普通。シンガポールのホテルラウンジでサーブされていた紅茶は、場所柄特別感を持って飲んだ訳ではないが「美味しい」のイメージが強く残っている。このオリジナルブレンドは後味スッキリではあるがまあ取り立てて印象に残るものではなかった。同席者の頼んだものも同様。３人で150ポンド。料金は相場で高いとは思わないが「二度とアフタヌーン・ティーには行かない」と言われたのがちょっとショック。お店選択は私でしたので・・・。

We have been guests of the hotel for the past several days, and have enjoyed drinks and tea in the bar and lounge each day. The area has been recently refurbished and is beautifully appointed. Seating is very comfortable. We had no issues with service or the quality of beverages or food items as other reviewers have experienced. In fact, staff came to recognize us in the short time we have been here and have been most pleasant and friendly. Today I left my glasses by mistake and was starting to look in my bag in the lobby for them when the lovely young woman who had served us came running out with them, anxious to be sure I had them. I appreciated that very much. My husband and I were heading back out after dropping shopping bags and having a light bite and some tea, and I’d have sorely missed them.The cheese wafers are housemade as are the potato crisps - and they are delightful bites to enjoy with a cocktail or glass of wine. In lovely weather we understand that there is a plan to have some tables outside in the newly refurbished garden. That will be a treat for guests and we wish could have been so this visit.Especially if you are a guest of the hotel this bar and lounge is a nice place for a pre or post dinner cocktail.

Agree with previous reviewer. the piped musak is a repetitive and bass driven intrusion. Shame the live pianist arrived just as we were called to our table.Classic cocktails have never been great here but this visit two of us remarked on how weak they were.Will arrive on time to go straight to our table in future as fortunately both dining rooms are the stars here.

The bar has been given a face lift. Sadly, the improvements did not seem all to the better. Yes, it looks good. But it did before. And gone is the genial master of ceremonies, Brian, who always remembered long-standing customers. I did not recognise one member of the new team and, not surprisingly, they did not recognise us (despite having been drinking here for some 20 years). They have also stopped serving drinks in the conservatory, despite the tables being empty and we were crammed into the main room. There is now a fish restaurant at the back of the bar, although it had yet to open on the evening we visited. The worst innovation is the playing of taped music, some of which had a repetitive base beat which I found extremely irritating. Thank goodness the sheep are still grazing calmly by the fire place!Alas, along with many refurb, the quality has gone down and the prices have gone up: £17 for a martini, with 12.5% service added, making a total of just over £19! We asked for some crisps and were told that "the kitchen is working on that" which I took to mean they were being freshly prepared. Some did eventually arrive, followed half an hour later by some cheese straws, but they certainly did not appear to have been just cooked. In the two hours we were drinking, not one tray of canapés appeared whereas you used to be able to bank on a couple in an evening.Oh well, I suppose this is what they call progress...

Right in the heart of Belgravia within a stone’s throw from Buckingham Palace is the Goring Hotel. As soon as you walk in the main door you cant’t help but be consumed by the understated elegance of the place. I am told its been refurbished and what a good job it was.Just after reception, is a very comfortable and well stocked bar. Relax here to soft piano music as you sip your favourite tipple. I guarantee you that once you settle down it would be very difficult to leave !!!Drop by and see what I mean !

Set in the lobby area of the Goring Hotel is this iconic English bar and lounge. Believe it or not there are reserved tables because of its popularity especially at tea time. The liquor options are extensive. Service is impeccable. Fruit cake is served with most coffee and tea options.

We had pre-dinner drinks and lunch here whilst staying in the hotel. Lunch was very, very civilised with some delicious wine and excellent light snacks. My lobster omelette was excellent. Drink prices are well into the top end with a glass of champagne almost 20 quid. Pre-dinner cocktails are about what you would expect for this kind of bar and are of excellent quality.

The Goring has a Royal Warrant, The Goring hosts the Queen and other royals, The Goring consistently scores very highly on customer feedback and receives gushing press reviews. All well and good. That is just one side of the coin. The other side as already explained to Goring GM S. Geddes is that the Afternoon Tea service that our party experienced in terms of customer service was way off the mark and well below The Ritz, Claridges and other landmark luxury hotels in London. The main issue was attention to our table was lacking, service was lacklustre and only came when requested and even then it was hard work for us.Royal patronage is all well and good. As is making your staff stand to attention when known VIPs are in the room. But when the bread and butter customers feel let down in the long run that will leave a mark.

It's a lovely old fashioned top end hotel which is currently undergoing refurbishment. The bar area is severely curtailed at the moment, so we were shown into a small sitting room and served our drinks there. The staff were most helpful and polite and made our short stay most enjoyable.

We were staying in the hotel so it was natural to eat in the bar for lunch when we arrived and for supper one night when we had been out all day.

My friends and I had a very pleasant hour or so in the Goring Bar. Very good service and excellent cocktails - I do like a negroni late morning! Accompanied by cheese pastries and crisps.Very pleasant

Afternoon tea with friends for my 50th birthday. I chose this place because I had heard such great things about it. However, it did not meet the mark for me. To start with, we were seated in the restaurant and not in the garden room (due to refurbishment) which I understand, but this should have been made clear before booking. The tables were large and well spread out, which is good, but it did make it difficult to get service. However, when the service arrived it was top notch.

This is a wonderful place with excellent service however you do sometimes hope that they will change the menu slightly. Sometimes the sandwiches are quite dry but overall it is an excellent place

Such a shame yesterday we took some friends for a drink at the Gioring and the bar is being decorated so it was closed. There was a small bar downstairs that was being used and all we could hear all the time was drilling going on from upstairs. To be fair they did give us a discount and were very apologetic. Think this is going on till April

8 of us for drinks and lunch, sumptuous food, superb service, wonderful setting! A special mention for the Scallops which were amazing, excellent quality and superbly fresh...beautifully presented. Thank you to the Goring team for a wonderful afternoon.

A good spot to meet before the theatre (Hamilton - which is amazing btw). The open fire was lovely on a cold winter afternoon. The food is a bit of a let down so I would stick with drinks and olives. A very British establishment.

This bar has a constant turnover of people. It feels more like a bus station. Drinks are at high end prices. There is an unusual selection of snack meals but we had to wait 45 minutes for an omelette which was not helpful as we were on our way to the theatre. Lots of staff and managers walking around. But generally this bar is uncomfortable as it is too crowded (at the early part of the evening anyway.)

£72 a head special treat , some How expected better service , we were seated in the lounge in very low chairs not comfortable for reaching tea , eating or drinking , and being in a secluded corner we struggled to get service when we needed it ! Whilst the food was fresh the variety of finger sandwiches were not exciting , the scones were cold ( not even warm) and the small cakes exactly that small ! Our teapot was never refreshed so after first cups it was like warm .We had a bottle of water and second glass of champagne pushing our bill well over £200 with included service charge ,which frankly for moderate eats , and poor service was excessive . As a regular diner at the Goring I have previously noted the small portions and inattentive service , I fear the standard no longer deserves the prices sadly . It’s afternoon tea , yes, it’s not special !

I had never heard of this hotel but I was given an afternoon tea gift voucher for my birthday and I am so happy I was. I think it I was the best afternoon tea I have ever had. The whole experience could not be faulted.

We visited the bar on a Friday night and there was a great atmosphere. Morgan and the team really looked after us, we sat on a table in the bar area and were able to watch all the activity. Fabulous drinks and delicious canapés. Definitely recommend this wonderful family run hotel. See you next time we’re in London.

Lovely Sunday afternoon experience. Nice atmosphere with a lovely fire. Service and afternoon tea was really exceptional. Staff were really attentive but unobtrusive. Great place to lounge around for a few hours!

What a lovely thought, my husband planned tea for mid December for my birthday. Friends have visited over the years for lunch, dinner and have always said you must go. With the Middleton’s putting their stamp of approval on it, what could go wrong.

Classic Afternoon Tea with Bollinger Champagne doesn’t get any better than this. The scones was to die for! Would recommend for anyone looking for a special treat in London. I know I will return.

A beautiful high tea experience , with very attentive service. You can enjoy refills of your teapot or choose another tea if you like. No hurried exit time and spaciously set out. Recommended.

アフタヌーンティーが美味しいと評判だったので仕事の合間に伺いました。綺麗なティールームに案内され美味しいスコーンやケーキをいただいたのですが、サービスが酷すぎました。一人だったから？アジア人だから？まわりの欧米人達とは明らかに違う対応。紅茶をカップに注いでくれたのは初めの一回だけ。おかわりも自分からスタッフを呼んで初めて気づいてもらえます。隣のアメリカ人夫妻のテーブルにはしつこいくらいお茶を注ぎにきていたのに。。茶葉の種類の説明も雑。支払いが終わったら完全無視でさよならの挨拶もなし。最低限というサービスです。

We went for drinks in the very pleasant surroundings of The Goring hotel bar which was delightful, until we ordered food that is. Expectations were high for the £26 burger, which was £2 more than the near perfect burger at Bar Boulud in the Mandarin Oriental. Sadly they were dashed with disappointment, it tasted like an unfrozen Birds Eye burger which was cooked in that style too, really not what we were expecting. Very sad for an otherwise exemplary establishment.

An occasional favourite of mine, I met an old friend for drinks and a bite at the Goring bar. The service was charming, really lovely. A beautifully chilled white Rioja helped the stress of the week evaporate and the ambience was just what you want from the Goring. So why 3 stars? Well, I couldn’t help but be underwhelmed by the food. It was perfectly decent but lacked the little bit of ‘wow’ that I expect when I’m dining a bit high end. My friend and I both had the curried chicken and it was tender but very bland with little flavour and no discernible heat.

I read excellent reviews on this place before coming, and I was not disappointed. I had the afternoon tea at the dining room and everything was simply perfect. Beautiful place, excellent food and service.

Después de haber probado en distintos sitios el afternoon tea, decidimos en este viaje reservar en The Goring, ya que mucha gente local nos lo recomendó especialmente. Debo decir que nos brindo todo lo que esperábamos de un auténtico te inglés. El lugar es realmente encantador Es un edificio del siglo pasado perfectamente mantenido. Nos sentaron en una mesa con vista al jardín sumamente agradable. La vajilla y la platería era preciosa. La atención de dos meseros impecable. Venían seguido a servirnos mas té y ofrecer mas sandwiches o pasteles. Toda la comida, incluyendo la pastelería es de alta calidad y no como en otros que he probado, que solo se esmeran en la vista y que quede bonito, pero de gusto regular. Debo decir que con mi marido Hemos pasado una tarde muy agradable en un sitio auténticamente ingles, y sin el aglomeramiento de turistas que hay en otros lugares que ofrecen El afternoon tea. Sumptuous surroundings, and a fabulous terrace. A great bar selection, I tried a couple of their cocktails which were divine. Our drinks were accompanied by a selection of bar snacks that were replenished throughout the evening. Service was outstanding, friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend to add a touch of class to cocktail hour.

Went for dinner for our wedding anniversary having visited for lunch on several occasions a few years ago. The food is incredible and so is the service. The cheese board is a must!

Have being here twice. Very nice terrace overlooking a green lawn. Very nice in the summer. Bar has a classic decor. Excellent Service.

The bar is relaxing and charming. The staff are exceptional, extremely friendly and attentive. Perfect sommelier. Relaxing, perfect experience. Our lunch was divine and our evenings were just fabulous! Will be visiting regularly whilst in London.

I am a real fan of afternoon tea so when my friend suggested The Goring on our day out to London I was happy to participate. Firstly, as expected, the service was exceptional and management should be very proud of their staff, The two staff that served us were on their placement year but we would not have known that if we hadn't chatted with them. The crockery was delicate and very pretty but I would suggest getting a cover for the tea pot handles which were extremely hot. Yes, they did come and pour our tea for us but we also poured it ourselves.

A friend and I were in London for the day and decided a few weeks ago that we would treat ourselves to afternoon tea as part of our visit. Having heard of the hotel's reputation, we agreed that this would be our treat.

My daughter 13 wanted a special tea place to celebrate her birthday trip to London and the Goring did not disappoint us at all. We did reserve ahead of time and got a table overlooking the terrace garden as requested. The service, the ambiance , tea, scones and champagne were delightful. The premises are exceptional and their yellow is so cheerful. If i were to recommend slight review of the sandwiches i would recommend some improvement, the chicken tomato was heavenly though! Amazing experience! My daughter felt like royalty. Bery few places come any close to this!

Lovely triple fried Chips and ambience. Great breakfast every morning. A little cool on back porch but heaters provided that shed plenty of warmth.

Four of us with three of the meals inedible. My daughter gluten and dairy free. Prawn and smoked salmon sandwich. No prawns as "they were already mixed with mayo" so half a dry sandwich.

We had visited the Goring before and loved it. This visit was for a light lunch - the surroundings are lovely, excellent staff and service. Unfortunately, we chose sandwiches and the bread was quite dry - as though they had been made in advance and not covered.

Cadre très agréable en hiver (dans le salon) mais aussi en été (demander à être placer sur la terrasse surplombant le jardin). Sandwiches très bons mais un peu riches, scones délicieux, thé délicieux, service très agréable. En revanche, comme souvent, quand on arrive à l'étage des desserts, ça se gâte fortement. Macaron très sec voir rassis, et les autres desserts sont de la grosse artillerie, très lourd, aucune finesse, jolis à voir mais c'est tout. Peut-être "bons" d'après les normes anglaises, mais d'après les normes françaises, ce sont des gâteaux de supermarché. Il n'en reste pas moins que c'est un bon afternoon tea, que je recommande.

Myself and friends recently visited for a birthday afternoon tea. We have all experienced afternoon tea at various London hotels and unanimously agreed this sadly was the worst. Firstly, the seating was so uncomfortable. We were seated at very big, squashy sofas which meant we had to perch on the end in order to be able to reach the table which got very uncomfortable after a while. The table was not large enough for the amount of teapots and crockery that comes with an afternoon tea so an extra table had been added at one end for the teapots. However the teapots were large and heavy and we constantly had to keep passing them down the table to the people at the other end who could not reach them. The teapots were made of metal and the handles got very hot and my friend picked one up and unfortunately dropped it due to the hot handle. Thankfully it was quite empty and it fell to the floor rather than on anyone. However our main issue related to the service. When we arrived a member of staff came over to welcome us and explained about the different options for tea and asked about dietary requirements. We explained and she went away. Five minutes later another staff member arrived and started explaining the same thing again. The food was nice but portions were quite small and so and one of our party asked if she could possibly have more sandwiches. Around 10 minutes later a large plate arrived with one sandwich in the middle. It looked absurd to say the least. Service was also extremely slow. It was difficult to get the attention of the staff who all seemed to huddle around the till at the entrance. We resorted to standing up and waving our arms in the air. The party at the next table joked that it would be quicker to ring the hotel and speak to the waiting staff on the phone. Overall it was an extremely disappointing afternoon, especially given the price and the fact that it was a special occasion. Sadly I would not recommend to anyone.

El Bar es elegante y tiene un ambiente relajante y acogedor. Tuvimos un cóctel aquí antes de ir a través para el té de la tarde. Sin duda esta fue una delicia al final para obtener la puntuación. Un té por la tarde, bien con golosinas deliciosas a través! El servicio era excelente. La experiencia de principio a fin fue del más alto nivel.

Elegimos este hotel para una cena y decidí Comprobar Hamilton comer en el bar en lugar de el restaurante pensando que sería más rápido. . Pero por desgracia que no sucedió. No estoy seguro si el problema es no tener personal dedicado espera el barman del bar o no prestando atención. Pero el plan para una cena rápida de la luz no fue alcanzado. Nos dirigieron a una mesa y luego nos sentamos durante 15 minutos antes de nuestro pedido. Otros 15 minutos antes de las bebidas. . Pedimos comida.. . La comida del bar. . Y otra esperar largas. además parte de mi pedido fue olvidado. La comida estaba bien, pero toda la experiencia tomó más de una hora y media para 2 bebidas cada uno, el queso, la ensalada y sandwich.

Visited the bar/lounge for lunch after a very special occasion and could not have been more disappointed. Overpriced food of incredibly low quality - brown chunks in avocado , paltry ingredients and stale bread.

The Goring took our booking several weeks in advance (and paid for in advance) for 16 people for afternoon tea at 3.30pm yesterday to celebrate my father-in-law's 90th birthday. This booking included notification that there needed to be 3 gluten-free teas.

Fuimos durante la semana y fue una experiencia encantadora y tranquila! Me encantó la decoración del bar y lounge (tradicional y sencillo) y nos sentamos en el sofá y sillas (en vez de la habitual mesa redonda) que nos gustó mucho. El personal era atento y profesional. La comida y el té eran muy buenas. Lo recomiendo altamente.

Never before have I had a dining service held in such high regard fall so far below my expectations. Indeed, the hotel is beautiful and the porters and staff are extremely polite, and the hotel’s autobiographical booklet proclaims that there have been 4 generations of Gorings overseeing operations. In that time, one might imagine they would have figured out how to do their job properly.

The Goring hotel had the best afternoon tea I have ever had! The sandwiches and scones were out of this world! Every time I tried to pour more tea I quickly had a server come to pour it for me. The definition of luxury treatment. Come here for tea and everyone feels like a Queen!

Staff very attentive, cocktails superb and plenty of nibbles. Bar meals very tasty and not silly prices.

If, like me, you are a uncontested fan of the British afternoon tea, the Goring is a place to have at the top of your list. I would actually consider it one of the top 3 London afternoon teas. Exquisite, traditional and so British, everything to have the best time. As February often lets you down with some cold and misty days, we decided to try the Goring experience. Dream! The journey starts at the front door, where the first employees (the doormen and concierge) welcome you with a superbe smile and nice word. Rather nippy weather? Let’s get inside and enjoy everything the Goring has to offer! We had the afternoon tea in the main lounge, which I think is quite nice for such a bad weather. The cracks of the wood burning in the fireplace takes you back to your grand father country house. Incredible. The room is spacious and you have some nice private space, not too close from your neighbours. In the summer, I would recommend the conservatory, lighter and closer to the terrace/garden. Our waitress was Shaneka, and she was divine, professional and so helpful. The Goring is one of these places where you will be served more tea/cakes without having the need to ask and chase for it. The people are looking after you, and this feel great! Very obvious, but the glass of champagne is a must (how could you even consider not having it)! The cakes, scones, sandwiches were really good. On the negative sides: It would have been pleasant to have some Chopin or Weber (piano) in the background. I do think classical music goes in pair with such a beautiful place, and the lack of music made it slightly empty. The room temperature was quite hot, and a few degrees less would have been better. The global experience was amazing and well priced. I would highly recommend. I will be back to try the summer version in the garden.

Cenamos en el salón para dos noches durante nuestra estancia en el hotel y tuvimos una tarde de té durante. La comida informal es muy bueno y las patatas fritas GRASA DE PATO son espectaculares. Nuestro favorito de los aspectos de la sala era el té de la tarde. Las ofertas son frescos y deliciosos bollos y el son luminosas y sabrosa. También tomamos té en Claridges durante nuestra estancia, y aunque este fue un evento más esperados de nuestro viaje, nos dejaron decepcionado y pensé que el té en el Goring fue muy superior. Ten en cuenta que el salón es pequeño y puede ser bastante gente y ruido durante las horas pico, pero el servicio de los camareros y la comida deliciosa sin duda asegurar mi regreso.

Fast service and many different sandwitches adds up to the best Afternoon Tea i had. Egen pur kids didnt like the first dish the waitor changed to a different dish.

The Bar has always been an oasis of calm for lunch but the popularity of afternoon tea threatens to take over. A simple menu, sitting overlooking the garden with very good service makes this a good place to catch up with friends old and new

Nos alojamos aquí por 1 noches con desayuno y que el hotel es, todo está hecho con una sonrisa y un saludo, desde los chicos que al abrir la puerta del taxi a las sonrisas en la recepción y más allá, nada es demasiado problema para este hotel, la decoración es impresionante, las habitaciones son increíbles, la comida es para morirse.

さすがキャサリン妃が結婚式の前日に宿泊しただけの格式あるホテルでした。ロビーから既に雰囲気があり、ラウンジに一歩踏み入れると古きよきイギリスのクラシカルな感じでとても落ち着いて品がありお客さんもセレブな地元の方でいっぱいでした。値段は張りますが、三段トレーにの下のサンドウィッチとスコーンはお変わりが自由ですが、お腹いっぱいでおかわりどころではありませんでした。紅茶もたっぷりティーポーットでのサーブしてくれるのですが、少し飲むとすぐに注ぎに来て下さり優雅な気分でした。ティーポットサービスですが、途中で茶葉の種類を変える事も可能です。紅茶の種類も沢山あり、フォートナムメイソンのロイヤルティーもありました。イギリスらしいアフタヌーンを優雅に楽しみたい方にお勧めです。

Four of us, one Coeliac (gluten free) and one veggie - who were both well catered for- enjoyed our delicious food. The coeliac cake selection was one of the best I have tasted, especially the chocolate log mouse!

Had afternoon tea for 5 and from the first step inside the door until you leave you are treated as premier guests with the upmost respect and attention. After being shown to our seats, the service was spot on with no lapse in attention throughout the whole experience. The food was excellent with a regular supply of tea. After we had cleared the plates they were replenished. Well worth the visit for some thing special.

Went for my partner's birthday treat and was bowled over by the attentive service from the moment we got out of the cab at the door. Nothing was too much trouble, we were taken to a charming lounge table where we were offered a glass of champagne and were taken through the menu.

From morning 'til night, the Goring Bar and Lounge provides excellent food and beverages.

We booked a table as our late wedding anniversary celebration and were pleasantly surprised by how wonderful and elegant this place was. The service, ambiance and food were all 10/10. We were looked after form the moment we stepped in until we left this wonderful hotel.

So. Always liked the notion of afternoon tea. Never quite been to a proper one, in England. It was between Ritz or The Goring to get the true experience. The Goring it was - behind Buckingham palace - hotel rich with history and class. The service, sandwiches and the tea was brilliant. Hotel itself is wonderful - although I did not stay there. WOuld have wanted to have the place a little busier - but then again - maybe not. Recommend the champagne version and to book in advance - just in case. Also to go full on with the experience - I dressed up - and so should you.

We booked for this in advance and was a real treat. We were a group of 4 people and got the sofa and two chairs. This was the only negative, as this was very comfortable, it did make talking to each other difficult as the seating was quite spaced. We had both the Bollinger experience and tea experience. As far as the tea is concerned, I am no expert, but this certainly must be amongst the best selections you can find. The food selection was really great and the sweet treats were quite delectable. Overall well worth the price and experience.

I know i wanted to do a proper English Afternoon High Tea while i was in London, and being a Kate fan, I wanted to do that here. I went all in with the course that includes the pink champagne and strawberries and creams. I choose the Goring Afternoon black tea. Very nice black tea. The sweets, sandwiches, and the scones that came were very pretty and plenty. They asked if we wanted to have more of anything, but i couldn’t even eat everything that was on those trays. Service was impeccable from the door man to the servers and wait staff. Fancy but not stuffy. The decor is beautiful and classy. I would love to return and even stay at the hotel next time I am in London.

I met up with some friends for dinner in the restaurant and was totally impressed with the whole package from the time you walk into the Goring to the time we left, their customer service was exceptional you were made to feel welcome and the food and the ambience were superb.

We visited for drinks, the bar maid was extremely helpful, all the door entrance staff were very welcoming, took our coats and bags immediately. There was a private function on the day we went, everyone was very welcoming still and nothing was too much trouble. It’s very pleasant and very Royal. Prince William was in the building 10 mins prior to our arrival.

When I knew I was returning to London, the first thing I did was book afternoon tea here. I had afternoon tea at this lovely hotel just last year, and was so excited to be able to come back. While I could have booked tea at any number of places, I chose to return as the whole experience had been just so wonderful.

I had a couple of hour to spare as I had to collect my passport.

I travel to London every couple of months for business but always try to treat myself on Sundays by going for afternoon tea. I have made it a goal to try someplace different each time. However, this visit, I sought the comfort of a familiar spot and decided to return to the Goring. The first time I had tea at the Goring was with my mom on her first visit to London about twelve or so years ago. We had such a wonderful time, and this time was no different. While it would have been much better had I not been solo, I was treated with such grace and warmth by the staff, I certainly did not regret returning. My table was in a quiet spot with a great view of the garden. As usual, the sandwiches were fresh and they brought extras of my favorite: cucumber and watercress. The scones were the perfect size and brought to me still warm. The pastries were imaginative and tasty. And, the Goring tea blend is just right. Of course, I had to have a glass of champagne—the Bollinger is wonderful. It also is in a great location—a quiet street behind Buckingham Palace. Honestly, I don’t understand why the Goring is not listed in the top ten of best afternoon teas in London. It’s much less stuffy than the Ritz and much less touristy than Fortnum and Mason. If you want a true English afternoon tea experience, then don’t pass up the Goring!

Mi esposa y yo tuvimos una escala en Gatwick. Decidimos ir a Londres y tener una buena comida. A pie de la estación Victoria en la búsqueda de un bonito lugar nos pareció - The Goring Hotel! Comimos en el bar y el salón.
