Banging food Laura sure does know her stuff a very hard worker but not really appreciated as no one seems the chefs behind closed doors

We we coming from London for a hotel break and we rang asking if the pub could accommodate a last minute booking for 17 adults. The evening before Christmas. When we arrived, the table was set and staff were ready to take our orders. The food was very tasty and we were impressed how quick the orders were done. Cocktails were good. Staff were very attentive and very helpful. We had a great evening, and we would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to the amazing chef that had everything prepared LAST MINUTE, just before Christmas. We left filled and happy. I will recommend other family and friends to experience this wonderful pub.... atmosphere was good too.

I popped in for a couple of pints and a bite to eat after a long week at work. I was greeted with a friendly smile and warm welcome from Bella and Levi I ordered the pizza and a pint deal. This was served quick and super nice and hot. Bella pointed out if you come in on a Tuesday the pizzas are buy one get one free but you can't use the pint deal with it .

Came on tuesday, had a lovely meal bar staff were amazing, bella and sam were pleasant to chat to and very knowledgeable about any drinks available. would highly recommend will be returning

We came in lost hungry and void of life. The staff on this night (21/11/23) gave me reason to have faith in the human race again. Friendly outgoing and welcoming. Never been in a better pub in my life. 28 stars. X

Brilliant pub with fantastic staff, spent 2 nights in here whilst down visiting family,good priced beers and good choice, never ate here so can't comment on that side but lovely ambience and nice locals,will definitely be back there when down next

Went to the Duke of York in camberley today to have some drinks with family and was served by the amazing klara. I must say she has the best customer service skills I have ever seen in a bar member. Will definitely be going back.

Popped in while at the Camberley Car Show and it was quite busy. Being a large pub, we found seats easily enough and were served quickly. Enjoyable visit.

Came in for a family lunch. Hadn't been in the pub for about 3 years and amazed at how much the place had improved. The staff were friendlier and seemed happy in their job. The service was good and was bettered by the quality of the drinks and food. My wife and I both had fish and chips. Lovely crisp batter and golden chips. The kids loved their build your own wrap.Will definitely be bringing the family back before the kids go back to school.

Sono stata al Duke of York molto spesso dal 2014 ad oggi e mi sono trovata sempre bene ,sia la carne che il pesce molto buoni con porzioni abbondanti,locale in ordine e pulito davvero ottimo il rapporto qualità prezzo.

Came in for lunch today as I heard there was a new menu out. Once again the food drink and service was first class . Highly recommend the triple hunters chicken to anyone with a big appetite. It was delicious

Not been in the Pub for over a year but working in the area so thought I would see if it had changed from last visit. Being a Bank Holiday weekend most Pubs are usually more busy than usual and have experienced staff including door staff this did not & was reflected by the atmosphere it was awful. A group of drunken people caused a lot of trouble while still being served more alcohol no sign of any Management visible inexperienced bar staff left to deal with situation which ultimately involved the Police. Left and will not return Head Office need to look at Management and need to look at Business

Went out with my friends and the staff were friendly and quick with service, the atmosphere was great they had a really good dj aswell. Really enjoyed the night and would definitely recommended for a party night with family or friends.

went in to this pub last week to ask if we could hold a friends birthday drinks at this pub, was asked how many people would be attending told the bar lady it would be around 30 she said thats fine told her it would be saturday 12th of may and asked what time the pub was open till ( as we would not get there till around 11pm as we had a meal booked) was told pub closed at 1am as is written on the board out side!! got to the pub was told by door man we could stay for a few drinks as in his words "we close at 12am" why say your open till 1am if rour not !!! very disappointing wont be back rude staff shouting at us to get out as they wanted to go home !!!!!!!!!!

Decided to come for a small meal and drink while the football was on and absolutely incredible decision. We've just found our go to place for a good meal and good time. Husband had the Minced beef, ale & veg while I had the fish & chips. From a South African couple who enjoy tasty, hearty meals. These did not let us down. The pie was like a slice of home while the fish, wow, the fish was superb! Needless to say the price of the drinks and the vibe where just the cherry on top. Also super friendly and amazing staff.

Popped in with a couple of friends for a pint. Saw the food going out looked delicious so we all decided to have roast chicken. Massive half a chicken piping hot crispy roast potatoes. Lovely veg and Yorkshire pudding. Completely stuffed afterwards. Great value for money as were the drinks. Great place to socialise. Will be back soon

Met up with some mates to have a few drinks. Good friendly polite service with reasonably priced drinks didn't eat but what I saw coming out of the kitchen looked good will come again.

Came in with the family for lunch again today. It was fantastic. My wife and I had mixed grills. They looked great and tasted even better. My children both had burgers. They said much better than McDonald's. We all had chocolate brownies for dessert. They were lovely. As always the drinks were all good and the staff very friendly and polite. What a great pub

I came in on Saturday evening with my family for an evening meal at the pub was very clean the food was superb the drinks were lovely too and staff were very friendly and very knowledgeable about all the products they served were fantastic

been in this pub a few times in the last few years, nice friendly staff good food, but the gents toilets are a disgrace its like stepping into a paddling pool at times, its been like this for a very long time i am shocked they are aloud to even open the toilets

My wife and I joined our friend's at the Duke on the weekend to watch the Springbok rugby game. The atmosphere was fantastic, the food was excellent and the barmen and managers went out of their way to make our night enjoyable. There was also a live DJ after the rugby which turned our night out into one hell of a party. Well done Duke of York and thank you!

Came in for lunch on sunday with 3 friends. Fantastic atmosphere in the pub. Obviously the best place to watch football in Camberley. All 4 of us had sirloin steaks. They were beautiful. All cooked to perfection. We then had sharing churros for dessert but were so full we couldn't finish them. On top of that was great service from all the staff. Will definitely be coming back here to eat again

Popped in with my kids first thing Sunday morning looking for some hot food before we went out for the day. Had a delicious breakfast for a great price. The staff even allowed me to split a breakfast with my children as they not big eaters the brought extra plates and cutlery so I could do this. Service was fantastic prices are good and food was wonderful. Thank you again guys for making a day out with the kids a little bit easier

I have not been here in a good few years and very suprised at the improvements! May be under new management not sure but quick service, drinks were good. Great atmosphere and food was banging. Deffo come back here to watch the footy or rugby and have some beers with the boys

Came in last night with the family. Great atmosphere in the pub. The drinks were super cheap because it was Thursday night. And what can I say about the food. It was fantastic. I had a mixed grill. Cooked to perfection. My wife had hunters chicken. She loved it. My daughter had tomato pasta. I've never seen her eat everything on her plate before so it must have been good. Highly recommended

Came in with the wife and kids for a bite to eat and a beer. They must have just changed menu. The food wad great. I had katsu chicken with fries. Good size portion and tasted great. My wife had jerk spiced butternut squash sweet potato and quinoa curry. She said it was the best curry she ever had. The kids had pizza. Good selection of beers available. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Definitely be coming again soon

Went for lunch with my husband and both had burgers and with the offer of getting a drink free it means they are great value for money. Have to say Laura the Chef does a brilliant job you can always tell when it's her in the kitchen. They were delicious.

Excellent service and lovely meal. Had a steak and Guinness pie, served by a young lady called Jodie who was very efficient. Highly recommend!

Dropped in here on Sat evening before a show at Camberley Theatre. Being in competition with the Wetherspoons pub close by, it was very good value for drinks and food. Not at all our usual preferred cosy pub style, but it caters for sports fans and the young market, which we are not either... However, a decent bottle of wine for £15 and two also decent burgers for about £8 filled the bill.

Rudest staff. Group of 6 girls and told us to f****** drink up. Made us leave before closing. Took our drinks away from us so we couldn’t finish them then laughed in our face. Would not go again. This man should be fired (grey haired). He should not be working with people.

Came down with friends to watch the Spain world cup game against Portugal. Had a great time and great food. Food was great value for money and the staff are very welcoming and helpful.

Visited The Duke of York on St. Patricks Day, while the rugby was on the screens. Surprisingly, it was only half full, which suited us as we wanted to eat. It's a Greene King pub with the usual fair priced menu. We ordered 3 meals which arrived in good time and each was very, very, good. We will certainly return.

Travelled 250 miles to visit family and decided to have a meal out. 7 of us sat at our table and a member of staff decides to challenge my 6 foot 1 27 year old step son. I fully understand the challenge 25 policy and agree with it but what a joke. Walked across the road to Wetherspoons great service great food. That's all we asked for.

Was heading to Weatherspoons opposite which was closed due to a drainage problem decided to try Duke of York first thing was only one Real Ale available,loud swearing individuals at the bar a real disappointment certainly needs a shake up if it wants to try and compete with the pub opposite.

I've eaten here a couple of times, but I also drink here a lot and have witnessed many meals coming out of the Kitchen and never seen anyone complain about the food. Great choice of pub grub, cheap prices, quick service. Much better than Wetherpsoons - which is directly opposite.

Been in here a few times for lunch but this was our second Christmas lunch and it was fantastic! The table was decorated beautifully. The food was excellent and the staff were lovely, including the chef who came out for a chat. I would highly recommend this pub for a lunchtime meal any time of year.

Creo que probablemente escogió el momento equivocado para llamar para tomar un trago. Inglaterra Escocia estaban a punto de jugar en Wembley. Televisión en todas partes con el volumen muy alto. Genial si eres un fanático del fútbol, pero de lo contrario no.

Just another pub nothing special standard prices what you expect to pay better than wetherspoons over the road.

Previously the Goose but now The Duke of York. Very large pub, busy on Camberley Car show Saturday when we visited. Only popped in for a drink and were surprised to find it cheaper than The Claude Duvall, the Weatherspoon across the road. Very impressed how quickly a broken glass was cleared up - about one minute from being dropped!

Love, love, love this pub! The lanlaord and landlady are very welcoming, situated right over the road from the train station, great beer, the food is excellent, we visit here every year, and can't wait to return next year

Difficult to determine who pub this is, no corporate branding on menus or price listings (Proper Pubs), ex Whetherspoon, but with silly arcade crane machines, juke box (I thought they went out with the ark). The food is promoted similar to Whetherspoons, but are priced from. The food I had (i was a little suspicious as I was the only one eating) was OK, the ale was well presented. Many TV's showing horse racing and football. A place where I wouldn't feel comfortable taking the other half.

I came back again as I'd received a free starter voucher for using wi-fi recently. As previously, the food was very good.A previous poster said the toilets were a nightmare to find. Maybe so if the place is busy. They're not so well signposted, but definitely in a logical place. I did note that hooks on the back of both of the male seat-toilet doors had been broken off or removed. So that needs rectifying, but it's only a small problem.Generally I find this place very relaxing, however I do avoid peak drinking times.For those who expect great restaurant service, my advice is bear in mind it is a pub that serves a wide food menu. But it's not a restaurant!

Good for a blokes pub as an alternative to wetherspoons, the menu is good but wasn't impressed with the pie and mash, limited cider options but standard lager selection.Pie was very nice but mash and peas tasted like microwave food.Good atmosphere for football with the big screen

The salmon was cooked to perfection and the rice was the way its meant to be and drinks are good value but the toilets were dirty and a nightmare to find.

Having been refurbished about 6 months ago which was desperately needed to improve interior & clean up its act within some of its regulars. Visited again only to witness a drunk guy being served dirty glasses on tables ,poor selection of real ales no change from before. No competition for Weatherspoons opposite.

Let's just say the food brought out to me on Sunday was truly disgusting I had the whole chicken and it's fair to say the whole chicken felt when in my mouth like it had just come out the fridge. It was stone cold my girlfriend took it back and they reheated it up. Looking back I should of just had a refund there and then.it was still disgusting after being rewarmed. If I'd have give that to my dog he would avoid me for a month! I did say to the girl tell the chef I wouldn't of gave that to my dog I hope she passed this on!! It wasn't her fault the chef is a joke though and she was very nice. I'd never eat here again. This is my first ever complaint about food in a pub it was that bad I feel I have to write this so the people of camberly can avoid!!! Surrey arms and weatherspoons much better and have chefs that can cook

Not sure why they've changed the name as "The Goose" rolls off the tongue easier than "The Duke of York". Tend to head for the Claude du Vall (Wetherspoons) opposite when in town but decided to give this pub a try again now it's been through a refurb. Can't actually say I noticed the difference other than new furniture but at least it didn't feel like the grot box it used to be. Also, our recent visit was on a Saturday night and so maybe I'd notice any changes a bit better during daylight hours? Have to say the one thing the 'Spoons does better is in not having music blaring out, although the playlist here wasn't as bad as in some establishments. To my surprise the round of drinks came to slightly less than the same in the 'Spoons and the staff were much more switched on, so despite it being busy service was quick, efficient and cheerful (so well done there!). There was also a much livelier "buzz" about the place compared to the du Vall which may have something to do with having music or maybe simply a different clientele?Next time I pop in I'll try their meal offerings and see how that compares.

Popped in for a meal, good food at a reasonable price. Would definitely recommend the mega mixed grill with upgrade to a larger steak. Drinks are not included with the meals unlike the Claude Du Valle, a Wetherspoons establishment across the road. However we found the food better than we have had at some of Wetherspoons in the past.

Has been closed for a number of days for long overdue refurbishment visually looks better internally, however why they don't update the info on the web still shown as the Goose it's the detail that counts or lack of it staff don't have the knowledge to think about marketing etc. Will see how long before it returns to its old ways.

I have been here several times with my son and never been disappointed. The food is very good value - my husband and I had a 2 for 1 for less than £8 yesterday, fish & chips and gammon & pineapple. Son's turf and surf around the same, and non-alcoholic drinks very reasonable. Probably the cheapest Becks in town? Cheerful staff and fairly prompt service. Nothing to complain about... It probably gets a bit noisier in the evenings with sports t.v. screens - a handy stop for those coming from the train and bus stations.

Visited only to meet someone found it full of contractors in dirty clothes,toilets were a disgrace would have thought failed Health & Safety Inspection. Beer was very mediocre no comparison to Weatherspoons opposite. If this can be enhanced in 3 days would be interesting to see.

The all day breakfast priced at £2.49 is excellent value and very tasty. There are also other daily lunchtime special offers. Drinks prices are also very reasonable. The service is quick and efficient.The pub itself is a bit "dingy" and lacks much natural light. The furnishings and table do not add anything to this establishment but it is worth eating here for standard pub grub which represents good value for money

We'd just been turned down by the Harvester for breakfast at 11.10 as they weren't sue they'd seat us by half 11 for breakfast.Were very eager to have breakfast and got to the goose at literally 11.58. The lady at the bar told us there was definitely time to order still and put our meals through. Great value for money, we had large breakfasts that included a drink (£4.99) and the man who brought the food over was equally as helpful and friendly as the lady at the bar. Food was fantastic, and big portions!

Came here for a friends birthday gathering and the staff were more than helpful in providing us with reserved seating in an enclosed area for the party. Food was good, very tasty and worth the price! Will return in the future!

Stayed the night in Camberley as picking our daughter up from Reading festival. Stopped at the Goose in the evening as they advertised cheap bottle of house wine and value menu. Had no house wine so had to pay more for a different bottle. Went to order food at 8:30 and told kitchen had closed by a very grumpy guy. felt sorry for the barmaid who was very apologetic. Went to Weatherspoons opposite for the usual good service!

A short visit to Camberley and on the departure morning we all went to the Goose, a modern spacious family pub opposite Camberley Station, for an all day breakfat. Food was well prepared, hot and plentiful. Served by helpful friendly staff.

we went in here for a breakfast one Saturday morning..the bar person was feeling hungover,there were a few unlikely looking faces.....We were hungry so went ahead to order our food.......this came out within a short period of time and was lovely..could not fault it..just a shame about some of the punters....gathering around the entrance smoking....we wont go back for that reason and i dont expect we are the only people to feel that way

We ate here on a Wednesday evening in November (grill night) The menu is fairly basic, grills, curries, chicken, ribs etc. We opted for the Steak & Chicken and Surf, Turf and Cluck dishes. Like most pub restaurants we had to order at the bar and the staff were very friendly and helpful.The meals were actually brought out to us by the chef himself who asked if we required anything further which was a nice touch. We both agreed that the steaks we had ordered were delicious and perfectly cooked and the entire meals were perfect throughout. We couldn't believe the quality of the food for the price we had paid. Excellent value at just over £18 including 2 pints of lager.Many thanks to the staff and management for providing such good value food and service!
