Went to the pub and asked if they permit war veterans with PTSD who have emotional support animals and told by a surley manager called Ben to get out. I've since met people at other local public houses who witnessed the occasion and couldn't believe how rude he was to me. I said I would review it and he said 'go on then'.

Come here to meet some friends, great atmosphere and staff. A really friendly, welcoming pub with a good pool table and darts table but you have to being your own darts. Toilets are clean, plenty of seating and overall a nice place to spend an evening. And the heating was on which was a big plus!

Good I loved going here with my wife.

Could be excellent. Nice enough atmosphere, music was awesome and it has a pool table, but the beer was flatter than a pancake. Risked a second pint and it was just as flat as the first

Friendly local. Good sandwiches etc and more substantial food for lunch. Really glad we visited - would recommend if you are looking for a good 'old fashioned' local vibe.

Cracking little gem of a pub.food is fantastic massive green in front of the pub with playground so it's great for the kids.highly recommend a visit.

Really friendly pub in a lovely quiet location. Would recommend to couples or families as there is a park beside the pub for little ones on the village green.

I've been here on a number of occasions, reason? The food is bang on and the staff are very friendly. It's dog friendly and children have access to a safe playing area. It's a must visit. I certainly will again. Our food had already started in pics. A must eat.

The food was okay. But it’s not a good place to have a meal as the choices are limited. Plus, the prices of the food are not as per written on the menu. They must have forgotten to update.

Visited today. Beautiful, clean pub with lovely, friendly staff. The building itself has been around since 1740. Really good food and lovely atmosphere. If you're in the area do check it out!

Lovely country pub , great location and excellent service. This place is like travelling back 30 yrs. Very old fashioned 70s / 80s decor . Makes it an interesting surprise when you enter . Food here was lovely . I will pop in again the next time I am walking by .

We happened along this friendly local pub whilst hiking. It's next to a great playground, so kids can play whilst you enjoy a pint. Good social distancing measures in place.

Great food great customer service no complaints

A proper locals pub awaits those who have ventured past the Tickled Trout and the Bull Inn and somehow made it to The Good Intent. The locals and staff offer a warm welcome as the latter fumble for a menu. There is a specials board for those wanting something more “interesting”. However, It doesn’t matter what you order the results are the same. The food preparation lacks the care it deserves. Food that is marked as “home made” has probably been made in someone’s home, defrosted, but at least it’s served that day. It’s frustrating and somewhat laughable to see food made so poorly. If you are hungry, take my advice and go to one of the other pubs in the area. Pay money into the pockets of chefs that respect their craft.

Lovely little country pub , sits on the edge of the village green so you can sit out in the sun and theres a play area on the green, the food is delicious as always x

This was the first time we have been to this pub l have driven past many times and decided to stop for sunday lunch. The roasts were very good, generous portions, the beef was delicious, all at a good price, very friendly staff a lovely local pub, which is hard to find these days. Will definately be going back.

Great staff who are really attentive and friendly , excellent, well-priced food with great Sunday roasts with a 3 courses for under £15 (when we went on 28/08/17)and a great setting with spectacular views. Children's play area which is part of the village green. Highly recommended. We go there out of choice. And it is like pubs used to be. Lovely bar with a dining area and a separate games area with pool table, dart board and quiz machine. Really clean toilets.

Lovely pub, lovely punters and very helpful staff, I didn't eat there but I'm gonna treat the Mrs payday and I'm coming here to buy the man a pint who helped me find where I was delivering to and treated me to a lager on the hottest June day in 40 years!!
