After booking Dom’s Front Room months ago, we turned up at the Langham tonight only to find that Dom finished his residency early. The Langham didn’t make much of an effort to inform us, even when I phoned to confirm the booking today. Really disappointed by the service and not what you’d expect from a hotel like The Langham. 👎🏾

Highly recommend the jerk chicken starter and Escovitch fish for main. The scoth bonnet sauce is out of this world. I wish I had some to take home.

The Good Front Room @ Langham Hotel. We heard that this pop-up Caribbean restaurant was coming to an end so we rushed to get a table as soon as possible. My expectations were a bit high going in even though the reviews have been mixed. To start off, the Langham hotel is amazing even down to the toilets. Therefore, the restaurant room is probably one of the best I've been to that serves afro caribbean cuisine. The service was really good all night and the food came out in reasonabl time. We tried most of the drinks on the menu, to which the caribbean queen cocktail was the clear winner followed by the Chef Dom punch. For food, things were not so great. We ordered the jerk chicken and ackee fish cakes for starter. These were probably the best bit of the meal. The jerk chicken was well seasoned and tasted good. The fish cakes were okay. For main, we went with the chef's curry goat and baby chicken. The curry goat did not have any standout flavours or wow factor so that was a bit average. For the baby chicken, it would have been good if they did it similar to the jerk chicken starter. It tasted too simple like I could make it. They are very generous with the sides; you get all of them which includes rice and peas, plantain, gratin, coleslaw and hot scotch bonnet sauce. These were all average. The plantain was a let down, again too simple. For dessert, we chose the upside down tart and the Salted Molasses. Molasses was good. The upside down tart not so good. I got a birthday dessert which I appreciated but that as well wasn't really all that. I left disappointed but I think the amazing company I had didn't make it a total disaster. Maybe my high expectations and seeing the price level might have affected my judgement

I have to say I haven't tasted such good food in London in a long long time. The main course was absolutely outstanding. I had the red snapper with rice and peas it was perfect. Dessert and starter were equally delicious and the extra snacks at the start was a welcoming bonus. The service from Nicoletta was professional and a delight. Will definitely be returning to this place.

We had a Friday night reservation at 9pm. The service was attentive, and the food had great flavour. The food seemed pre-prepared as it would be for the staple Caribbean dishes. Beautiful atmosphere and the old school music 🎶 in the background brought some nostalgia. It ends in April 2024, so visit soon.

Went here for a special occasion. We were rushed so did not get to enjoy the experience for what was not a cheap night out. The food was ok but did not meet up to the hype that influenced my decision to celebrate here. I was also looking forward to Chef Dom coming out for me and sadly did not get to meet him. Nonetheless Chef Dom’s punch was one of the best cocktails I have tried and the highlight of the evening. Hopefully my experience is a blip but in comparison to other hotel restaurants I have visited, it has not left the lasting impression I would’ve hoped for.

Visited the Langham Hotel, The Good Front Room for my other half’s birthday. I had written this in the notes when making the reservation and also verbally mention on the phone when I spoke with the lady. Nothing was acknowledged. Not even a happy birthday even though I wished him again in front of the waiter. I thought due to the rating of establishment at least a compliments of the day would have been appreciated . The atmosphere is surreal. It’s a beautiful establishment no doubt. The service could have been faster, it was a Tuesday evening and it wasn’t extremely busy but the wait time between the starter and main course was long with no update or apology. The cocktails are stunning! Like nothing I’ve tasted before but expect to pay £20 for one. We ordered 4 altogether but we had to prompt the waiters to order and there was no real attentiveness present. The size of the cocktails could have been a tad bigger for the price. The food was alright. Nothing magnificent in terms of taste. Good presentation. The jerk chicken dish and starters were lovely along with the scotch bonnet condiment on the side. I feel they should do more for customers to ensure the experience is super enjoyable and personal. Overall, 3.7/5.

Very expensive for what it is even though the food tasted good, compared to other fine dining restaurants and some with Michelin stars in comparison this will hit you in the pocket hard. A few other fair points, the rice and peas to share is survey in a very small bowel, so small only a teaspoon is placed in the bowel to serve 2, now lets be real, that’s not for 2, they should serve a bowel each. Asked for some tap water for the table and you would think that is in short supply. Normally you would just be given a jug for the table but not here, it’s served by the (again) small glass, ask for more? Sure they will fill it but should you have to ask and feel that tap water is a privilege to be spared. Desert was good and a good portion. Nibbles were also good but a dipping sauce would have sent them into a new level (just a good suggestion). Over all I support chef Dom Taylor as he did well winning the show and showcasing Caribbean food

Our first experience wasn’t so good (nov 2023) like others have said the service wasn’t so great and we waited a long time between courses , also the wine we were served had half the bottle missing! However after being invited back by Langhams and Chef Dom we had the most Amazing experience, the food was exceptional, especially the prawns and curry goat. We had a fabulous amazing evening with fantastic service and the atmosphere was so good with curated music by Chef Dom. A wonderful evening. The food was perfect.

The sea bream IS a stand out dish .. but overall the food wasn't as good as I, personally, expected it would be. The main course sides were underwhelming, although plentiful. Very expensive (we'd booked for the regular priced menu but the timing of our visit meant we were charged an extra £15pp per head as it was Xmas season; I don't think the menu was any different). Our drinks, which included a bottle of wine, were very expensive and the cocktails, whilst tasty, weren't good value for money especially as the serving size appeared to differ depending on the glass used. The dining room is beautiful though and the service is great, although the kitchen was under pressure when we went as there was at least an hour's wait between starters and mains. Thankfully the company I was in made it a special evening.

We dined here on New Year's Day, and wow... we were blown away by the food, the atmosphere and the vibe. The restaurant is beautiful, and intimate, with gorgeous artwork - very Erykah Badu. The staff were friendly and attentive, but not over the top. Shout out to Marco(we loved your vibe). The food was amazing. I am British Jamaican, and I can honestly say the food was authentic, and reminded me of my Mum's cooking. I had the jerk chicken starter which was delicious. It was served with plantain chips and jam. We also had plantain chips whilst we waited for our mains. I treated myself to a cocktail - Dom's special, which was lovely and well balanced... the Wray and Nephew came through subtly. My main was the pork belly - succulent and sticky, and the crakling was to die for - servedon a bed of red cabbage with a jus. We had four sides to share - rice and peas, Brussel sprout leaves with vegan bacon and green banana gratins, coleslaw and plantain - which were all absolutely delicious. The gratins were amazing. I am not a fan of green banana, but I will be making these at home! My daughter and partner had the seabream which was very well cooked and tasty, it melted in your mouth. For dessert, I had the chocolate mousse, which had a hard outer shell and when you cracked it there were layers of dark and milk chocolate mousse 😍 my daughter and partner had the upside down pineapple cake - tasted so homemade it made me well up. Chef Dom cam out towards the end of the night...what a lovely fella. He took the time to speak to everyone, and was open to all the feedback. We had an amazing night, and will never forget, and talk about, this meal for a long time. Thank you for an unforgettable experience. Happy New Year!

I think I had too much of an high expectation. I hear Caribbean and immediately thought, “this must be good”. I know the idea was, food with a Caribbean twist but…..I don’t expect it to taste nothing like Caribbean food. The best part of my meal was the dessert. The take on the cocoa bean was spot on and the taste superb, well done on the dessert!! The service was OK, very friendly The experience OK The food was nothing to write home about.

YES: Finally a Caribbean fine dining experience worth the trip! We had a delicious and memorable pre-Christmas meal here with fabulous service and even got to spot Chef Dom -thanks to server Sam for that👌🏽🤩. So happy to see the concept doing so well- the place was packed but service was consistently good and nothing was too much trouble. It felt like exactly what we had hoped - soul food that reminded me of childhood meals but elevated with a few special twists. Highly recommend: the sorrel punch, the ham hock with beans starter and the cacao pod mousse dessert. The fried plantains were to die for too and the homemade pepper sauce was just right! Catch it while you can, until April 2024 apparently!

My cousin and I visited this wonderful restaurant earlier this evening and it did not disappoint at all. To start I had the Ackee and Salt Fish Cake - the variety of flavours in the entire dish was delicious. My cousin had the King Prawns (which I happily sampled)! The taste was more subtle than my starter but still full of flavour. Then for my main, I had the Peppered Steak which was wonderfully tender. My cousin had the Stew Turkey - we were talking about how it was the first time that we had eaten turkey that wasn't dry and tasteless. The Stew Turkey was tender, soft and very enjoyable. Also, you receive all 5 side dishes with your main including rice and peas, plantain, Brussels sprouts/cabbage etc. Do not let the size of the portions deceive you - by the time you slowly chew and digest/ finish eating a bit of everything, you may just have enough space for dessert (depending on your levels of appetite). Our waitress asked us if we wanted any more side dishes which we politely declined because we wanted room for dessert! For dessert, I had the Upsidedown Pineapple cake and my cousin had the Mango sorbet. I didn't like the pineapple (which I peeled off) but the cake was lovely with a balanced density. The Mango sorbet tasted great, very refreshing. We also had cocktails too - I had the 'Blood and Sand' and my cousin had Chef Dom's Rum Punch. Both were well mixed with decent potency. Overall, we both really enjoyed the experience. Compliments to Chef Dom Taylor and to the team who delivered excellent hospitality and service. The Langham Hotel looked so festive with all the lights and Christmas Trees. I thoroughly recommend a visit. Also, be sure to book in advance as much as possible (we booked our 6:30pm table back in September 2023 and the restaurant was packed by the time we were leaving a couple of hours later).

It's been a long, hard search for fine dining Caribbean cuisine. Something that can deliver a high end experience while being authentic to the taste of the Caribbean, and The Good Front Room has delivered. It was a very clever idea to include ALL the sides in the set menu, which elevated the main to a proper Sunday Caribbean meal experience. Very clever chef/restaurant that understands the clientele. 5 stars!!!!

My hubby treated me, along with 2 of our friends to a birthday dinner. I have to say, I was expecting more....something wow! But I didn't get that! For a table of 4 we were served one very small pot of rice and peas. I didn't event taste it, there wasn't enough. The turkey was too salty and my friend had the peppered steak which was tender but had lumps of fat! Ugh! Disappointing as we were expecting more for what we paid £90pp. Desserts and cocktails (carrot juice - Mocktail) were yummy! We asked for Chef Dom a few times, to provide our feedback, but he never showed. Perhaps he was tired. Atmosphere was good. Other diners were nice and friendly.

I expect nothing short of perfection at The Langham and boy did I get it! I visited with friends on Wed 22nd and was greeted by a friendly hostess at the entrance of The Good Front Room. Those who know, 'know'... The hostess was a bit 'shook' that we were not only early but that we were ALL there at our booked time for our table! Ahem... Some of us like to be on time! Simon, (I think he was the Maitre D') recommended some of the most scrummy cocktails. I chose the Caribbean Queen (Tequila, Salted Caramel & Tamarind) - what a sublime combination!! Hubby had Chef Dom's signature Rum Punch. Between the six of us, we had pretty much nearly everything on the menu that night. My prawn starter was outrageously good - it actually left me wanting for a second helping... I also had the pork belly with crackling - so soft and delicious. It looked small but it really was filling. Sides were generous - the green banana dauphinoise was unusual, creative and really good. It takes a genius mind to think of the humble green banana and turn it into a delicious creamy dauphinoise! My dessert was a sharing 'Cocoa Bean' but as my husband doesn't eat chocolate, I had to polish it off on my own... Oh the shame! I don't usually eat desserts but this one had me at the first bite. Slightly bitter, light, subtle sweetness and absolutely delicious. Each bite was the gift that kept on giving... A touch of cardamom, a hint of ginger, possibly orange essence - it was, quite simply, a triumph! More cocktails and we literally had to roll ourselves out of there... I love what the winner of venerated Michelin Chef, Michel Roux's competition has done at the Good Front Room. He's transformed the Palm Court dining room and made it his own - the food, the vibe, the cocktails and even the subtle nods to his heritage with the decor are superb - 10/10. Our serving staff were lovely hosts. Simon was a hoot! We really had a memorable time and we will be back to see what else Chef Dom has up his culinary sleeve!

I really wanted to have a high end Caribbean food experience, esp with the Christmas menu at £90 pp and what I got was nice food plainly and inconsistently presented. My daughter and I both had the rum punch and her glass had more. The bar guy poured it from a ready made bottle. The belly pork was tasty but it was just that with cabbage underneath and two crackling bits at the edge of the plate. Not like previous pics I had seen. It took a good while for the starters to arrive the ackee and saltfish crouton thing was tasty and my daughter said that the prawns was the best she had tasted. The background music was elevator music and not soul as promised in an article I read. The wine list is limited. On the upside the serving staff were pleasant and the setting of the art deco of the Langham Hotel was glamorous and breath taking.

Such a nice experience of modern Jamaican cuisine. The starters were outstanding; the ham hock stew peas and salt fish and ackee fritters were so flavourful. The mains were good, we had the beef cheeks and the pork belly with the variety of sides as a nice addition. That pineapple upside down cake was special! Soaked in rum, it wasn’t shy at all. The only downside was the service, it was extremely slow; we were waiting at least 30 minutes for our mains which is disappointing when you’re paying £90 pp without drinks; I expect a seamless service.

So 1st of all know the xmas menu has activated, So say bye to the goat! Now £90ph and IMO unfortunately completely not worth it. As per images on their website certain dishes do not come in larger bowls for a party of 2, but you will get all of them. Dunno if that changes for larger parties though. Jerk chicken best thing I had. The Pork tasted like bbq and overly sweet, however was cooked really well. Beef tasted great but a fair amount of waste as I personally don't like eating soft fatty bits resulting in a considerable waste. Brussels sadly weren't great, which h just made me sad pretty sure we had the stem rather than the actual sprouts lol couldn't cut them, had to pick up with fingers....truly tasted chewy & raw at the same time.. 2 sad slices of okra in the coleslaw 😑 like literally 1 each. Surely okra isn't the highest value part of the meal Drinks were the bomb and service was decent. Overall a good but not great experience. 💯 I was paying for being in the Langham rather than paying for amazing food.

What can you say about The Good Front Room. I booked a few months ago after watching the C4 show with my wife - It was worth the wait. Beautiful Caribbean cooking, elevated, refined but still very true to its roots in a sense that the portions are big and you leave with a full belly and a smile on your face. The food was gorgeous Caribbean dishes elevated by chef Dom Taylor with a modern twist but same flavours you would expect. The prawns starter, the ackee and salt fish and all starters our group had were 5 star so was the mains. The sea bream was exquisite. All the sides come with your main dish and went down really well except the green banana with nutmeg cream - not to our liking. The deserts had mixed reviews - bun and cheese was delicious but was without the flavours of traditional bun and cheese. The cocktails are great! An expensive night - it’s £75 set menu but with our drinks and 12.5% service charge around £100 per person and well worth it. The service is excellent, the setting in the palm court was beautiful. We took what we couldn’t eat home with us yum

Long story short, the spin on Caribbean-style culinary delights was very palatable. Our mock-tails were nicely spiced, the ambience was most fitting - whom ever the background music playlist was compiled by: Rare groove, Motown classics and the odd Boogie track were balanced together well. Backed up with premium table service living up to this hotspot's reputation. Overall, our eating out experience here has given us a taste for more. I watched Dom Taylor in Five Star Kitchen on C4 and was chuffed to bits when he won 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾. In my view it would be rude not to experience The Good Front Room in the Palm Court at The Langham. The menu caters for everyone, and the waiting staff make sure of your dietary preferences or allergies are a priority. I am a pescatarian and all I can say is the Sea Bream was emotional. The culinary detail of each of the dishes is outstanding and the flavours were literally Oh My Gosh for each mouthful. And those Plantain and Sweet Potato Chips….. knocked it out of the ball park. I have a love hate relationship with Okra and I have never eaten raw okra 😮 however that slaw is delicious 😋 . The Good Front Room is a wonderful premier dining experience with a menu that makes you need to return to ensure you have tried ALL the dishes. The music playing in the background was excellent. I cannot fault any of the service from reception until we left. The door staff were pleasant and friendly, offered to take our photograph.

Dom Taylor’s debut at The Langham was an experience I had been waiting for, and a delight it was! The service was fabulous and extremely accommodating — they even charged my phone while I dined with my partner, and they made sure I collected it before leaving. I can honestly say that each dish was superb; the jerk chicken was unlike any jerk chicken I’d ever had, and the apple reduction paired with it added a sweet, calming element to the vibrant, spicy dish. My other appetizer, the ackee and saltfish cake, was crunchy, full of freshness, and paired so well with the grilled fruit and vegetables. The goat curry literally fell off of the bone - so succulent! The pork belly could’ve been a tad softer, but I still enjoyed the dish and its inclusion of chicharrón! And the grilled cabbage that accompanied it was so delicious. The sides come included, which was such a nice surprise and speaks to the culture that Dom highlights - one of community. This dining experience is designed to give you a glimpse into the beauty of his culture. Every single side was so unique in flavor and texture, and I enjoyed pairing different sides with different mains. At least for me, it beats a wine pairing on any day. Finally, let us discuss the dessert. The stout panacotta was out of this world. Sorrel, rum, and panacotta have never tasted better. I adored this experience and hope to return very soon!

Came with my Mrs for our anniversary dinner as I really enjoy Caribbean food, I really did enjoy the food. It was a set menu where you get to pick a starter, main and dessert which really works for me as I can get indecisive. I had the jerk chicken which was flavoursome and had the right amount of spice to it. For mains I went for curry goat and again it was really tasty, portion size was also great in fact I struggled with dessert as I was full up. Service overall was great but towards the end it got a bit slow but to be honest it didn’t bother me too much. I will definitely visits again and recommend to anyone looking for a spin or traditional Caribbean food.
