Ordered via Deliveroo. Unrecognisable from many years of ordering from Good Earth. Kung Pao chicken without a single peanut and no sauce. Chiu Yim ribs which used to be small pieces smothered in spring onion and chili were large dry and greasy w no spice. Yeung Chow rice - prawns half the size, dry pale tasteless chicken. Just a massive disappointment. No idea if new management but never again esp at that inflated price.

My wife and I visited The Good Earth Bellevue rd recently for my birthday meal. It was our first time and without doubt we will be going back again. Andy and his super attentive team looked after us with an amazing meal. The food and service were top notch. Stand out dishes were the filler steak clay pot, and also the golden sands Dover sole. I’d highly recommend a trip to anyone who fancies Chinese food on another level. Thanks again for a great night. Damian & Jen

I actually walked in with high expectations here but unfortunately wasn’t super impressed. A lot of the things we ordered were hit and miss - some good and some not so good. Biggest disappointment was the soft shell crab which didn’t taste fresh at all.

Best Chinese around. Lamb skewers wee great. Food always high quality. Service friendly and efficient.

Booked a 6pm table and the service was rushed.Awful when the manager taps his watch at staff to hurry us up. Our table was reserved till 8pm We left at 8.03 pm We spent £500, never again. We were not the only people unhappy with the rushed service. Don’t over book if you don’t want people to enjoy their meal

The food was so delicious! We went for a special celebration and the service they provided was top notch. Really attentive and flexible with any requests we had. The price point is great as well for the quality of the dishes. Highly recommend trying them out!

We always used to go to The Good Earth for birthday celebrations but we have now moved out of South London so our visit last night was extra special as it had been a while. We didn't even need to look at the menu as we ordered what we always ordered (which includes the fantastic wasabi beef, the delicious lemon chicken, the tasty sweet and sour pork and much more). We were not disappointed - everything tasted as good as we remembered. Service is prompt and attentive. Thank you Good Earth team

Hi I went to the good earth restaurant yesterday with my family the food was excellent and delicious food very nice and good my favourite food and restaurant I will definitely go there again excellent service and atmosphere there very good food I really enjoyed the meal all excellent food and service

I’ve never had anything but a lovely experience here. I always get the set menu with my partner which is excellent value for money and will leave you very full and happy! The starters and mains include a bit of everything like seafood, meat and poultry. And the quarter duck starter is very crispy and moist. One thing that always stands out to me is the customer service from the front of house to when you’re seated, everyone is attentive but not overbearing, efficient but not rushed. During my last visit being heavily pregnant as I sat down I was asked straight away by the front of house if my seat was comfortable and whether I’d like extra cushions. It was a small gesture but really appreciated.

Terrific restaurant which was recommended to us and thoroughly enjoyed our meal especially the clay pot beef. Up market and higher priced than most but we'll worth it 👍😋😋

Upmarket Chinese restaurant with prices to match. Set menu is a lot of food but delicious, particularly the crispy prawns. Service of the no fuss Chinese sort.

Please AVOID. One of the most overrated restaurants in the local area. Overly expensive and bland food, with menu items like egg fried rice and noodles being ridiculously priced especially. Service is poor and you are barely registered beyond the fact that they know you need to leave the table at a certain time in order to get another cover on. I have visited a few times before and this restaurant has gone downhill massively in the last two years. I didn't mind paying the expensive price for a meal before as the food was generally of good quality, albeit a treat, but it is now truly living on its past glories and people in the area with more money than sense still attend it seems, which is perhaps why it is carrying on. You will honestly get far more flavour and more authentic cooking from a good Chinese takeaway down the road and for a fifth of the price. Please avoid this place for your bank balance and your tastebuds.

I had a delivery The portion was quite small .. the price was high .. value for money poor The egg fried rice was boiled rice with egg And the prawn crackers were good but last time (a whole ago) were very different .. better .. I'd say there are better takeaway/deliveries Shame

The ambience is reasonable, service average but pricing ridiculously high, e.g Shanghai chicken at £26 (inc service charge) is pricey by any standard. Quality reasonable. Veg dish of aubergine at £15 was without much flavour and mediocre taste.

Really excellent service food was excellent service was excellent could not fault anything so I've told my friend Michelle who I went with i would like to go back again and we are next month

Such a lovely experience. Had no booking but were accommodated. Service was excellent, staff were extremely pleasant. Food was lovely. Slightly more expensive but overall worth it for the quality and service. Cannot wait to return.

We had a family lunch for 11 people here today and were all delighted with the experience. Fantastic service, food and surroundings. Many thanks to all the staff for welcoming us, being so thoughtful and attentive. The added surprise of a birthday dessert was a special touch.

Such amazing service I don't think I have ever in any place had this kind of service ever.. the orders where taken quickly and food was delivered to the table super quick but never hurried or all in one time, the wine was topped up with out ever having to ask I would seriously give this a 10+ for both food and service...thank you

On arrival no one took our coats, at the table drinks were slow to be offered. The food was not hot or delicious. A disappointing dining experience. We last ate here 9 years ago and it was excellent. Standards have plummeted.

I recently visited this Chinese restaurant and was blown away by the quality of the food and the level of service. The menu was extensive and offered a great variety of dishes, each of which was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. The ambiance was also lovely, with tasteful decor and a cozy atmosphere. But what truly stood out was the exceptional service provided by the staff. They were attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Overall, this was an outstanding dining experience and I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for delicious Chinese cuisine and top-notch service.

We went for Chinese New Year, with a dragon dance for the celebrations, during dinner. The speciality menu was to die for and the desserts were mind blowing! Kit, Kenneth and Katherine always make us feel special and we even were gifted by the Chinese New Year dragon! Cannot recommend this place enough! Book ASAP!

This wasn't our first visit; we have been here many times before. We had the set dinner menu which was absolutely magnificent! And service was efficient and really friendly...we loved every minute of our visit. As always, we will return.

Fantastic dinner experience! The food was very tasty and the staff were incredibly attentive. The chicken with cashew nuts and beef in black bean sauce were particular highlights. I would highly recommend a visit.

I went to this restaurant last week for lunch with my wife and 15month old son. We arrived around 1pm and one of the waitresses took our order and the food came about half hour later because of a steam fish we ordered. It was all good at the beginning. We then had to change our son in the toilets but when we came out we were told the kitchen was closing at 230pm and it was last orders. I asked for the toffee banana and asked what ice creams I could order with it. The waitress said any ice cream I want for example chocolate or vanilla but I wouldn't know what's on the menu. She did pass me the menu in the end but felt she was rushing to clock out from work. The dessert came and while we were about to start she threw a plate of mint chocolates onto the glass turntable and at that point I asked if she had a problem. She said it's a small issue and I should forget about it as she has apologised as well. I called on the manager who was kind enough to take the dessert off the bill. Overall food was good, service a little lacking but I have been to this restaurant before and it is the first time I had a bad experience with service. I would like to thank the manager for acting professionally and diffusing the situation quickly.

We were all very happy with our meals here, lovely starters, duck to share delicious main courses, noodles and rice. Everything was top quality freshly cooked with a good value wine list.

One of the worst chinese in london

The food is great but the service is very fast like they want you to finish your dinner and leave. Parking extremely difficult . We were treated by our friends so we went.

I Spoke to a lovely girl called Angie who took my order straight away with excellent professional courtasy. The order turned up before the recommended time and was hot and tasty. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone .

I really love Chinese and usually when go to some places all over the world it would be more casual or with different service but this place is excellent! Our local restaurant, so now we go there often. Very good service, very good atmosphere, food is very tasty and very high quality. Will bring my Asian friends there😀I’m sure they will be surprised!

Amazing service, probably the best restaurants service I've had for years which was very refreshing. Food was great quality unlike most Chinese restaurants... And the best part is I didn't get an upset stomach after, which I normally do when having Chinese food. Would highly recommend. Was amazing.

Bellevue Road is a long row of boutique shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants, and even the occasional art gallery, directly facing Wandsworth Common’s South Side. Together with Chez Bruce, Good Earth sits at the higher end of the gastronomic scale. It is of a similar vintage. It’s a surprisingly large space, including a long room divided down the middle into separate booths on one side and tables on the other. There is a spacious room for private dining behind. Service is polite and efficient. We were frequently supplied and re-supplied with water. There are complimentary prawn crackers with two colourful sauces at the start and small white cylinders which when hot water is added expand into paper towels st the end of the meal. Between substantial starters of hot and sour soup and spring rolls followed by chicken with cashew nuts and barbecued pork each with similar sauces. Rice with vegetables was elegantly served in a metal pot. As was jasmine tea. Judging from the conversations waiters were having with other diners many sounded like regulars. Prices are quite steep. The other branch is in Knightsbridge.

This restaurant is MUCH bigger than it first appears so still go in if it looks busy and you’ll probably still be seated. This was such a lovely dining experience for us; it’s spacious, clean, the staff were really quick and attentive and the food was perfect; the spring rolls for example have a decent filling and were fried in fresh oil. Highly recommend for dining in and I will be trying takeaway.

Such a lovely evening, left feeling happy. Possibly the best chinese food i've ever had. This place is immaculate and the food is incredible. Had the set menu which has an excellent range of dishes. We decided to have desert which is not part of the menu, but, I highly recommend trying the banana and apple toffee with vanilla ice cream. Thank you to the staff for making the evening extra special. A truly memorable evening.

Eaten here 3 times, food has always been excellent, freshly cooked, every mouthful really tasty, staff are friendly and attentive, its lovely seeing same staff on each visit. I build my London trips around a meal here to complete my day & take an uber to Kings Cross for the train home, always ready for my next meal here, wish they had a closer restaurant.

I've visited this restaurant many times. Although I've always enjoyed my meal, on occasions the service has been questionable. Not on this occasion though. We were extremely happy with both our food AND service from all waiters during our visit. Thank you.

Second visit Fab food and service

My wife and I booked for dinner at The Good Earth Wandsworth common London. The service was absolutely appalling, waiting staff asked my wife if she wanted a drink ignoring me bringing my wife her drink and leaving me to go find another waiter to order a drink, this service theme carried on through out the evening. The food when it did arrive was sub-srandard at best. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone wishing to enjoy a meal.

This is my 2nd year in a roll to have the Chinese New year (CNY) banquet at the Good Earth in Wandsworth. The specially created CNY menu was magnificent, the decor was traditional and beautiful, the service was very attentive. I highly recommend the Good Earth. Thank you Catherine and your team for making it such as amazing experience for us!

Really fun restaurant with exceptional service and delicious food

Very good food, definitely worth the price tag. Service is very efficient but still friendly. The atmosphere in the restaurant was lively but didn’t feel too busy even when full on a Friday night. Highly recommend the beef clay pot!

Dining and ambience was beautiful, staff members were fantastic however the food was a little too sugary particularly the shredded beef and the chicken, starters were great, main needed some work.

We visited this restarant for the first time happened to be walking past it. First off the decor is very impressive. Plus it was spotless. The staff and service was very good. I have eaten chinese food around the world and would be hard pressed to find food of this quality anywhere. I am sure you will not be disappointed.

Moderate service, but the main issue was the food. The fried green beans was quite good, but the Hunan cumin lamb was absolutely abysmal. No flavour with the dish, and the lamb had no seasoning. No cumin at all in the fish. Was absolutely abysmal and the portion was quite small. For the £19 the dish cost, was absolutely not worth it. Not worth a second visit.

The tables are absolutely jam packed together so you're fighting elbows with the person next to you. The tall male waiter was incredibly rude the entire time, and at one point laughed in my mothers face when she asked a normal question about the food. The menu was different than expected, not really authentic Chinese flavours in any way. Won't be returning. Wish we read the lower reviews before coming here. Never again. On the plus side, the lady waitress and the man on the door were both really nice and friendly. If only the same could be said for the rest of our experience.

Very pleasant ambience. Great Deco, good food, prompt service.

Service and atmosphere is great. Nothing out of this world for the price. Extremely expensive. Not value for money or outstandingly delicious for the price. £120 for three adults and we had no seafood or wine.

The waiters are really friendly, efficient and create a very welcoming atmosphere. I also love their food especially the sweet corn soup and the Lettice wraps. The whole restaurant itself is spacious and comfortable. I really enjoyed myself and had a lovely evening out.

Ordered a Takeaway last night that was very nice. We need coeliac gluten free options. They were very helpful with this and even called me back after checking with the Chef. Pick up was nice and quick ( 20 minutes ), and I couldn’t believe they rang me immediately after to say that I had overpaid them by £20.

Excellent food, efficient staff.

We had an absolutely stunning time. The restaurant is has a beautiful art deco calming style with lots of space between the tables and different levels across the room. There is a spinning green glass piece in the centre. We opted for the set meal and literally were given SO many tasty and succulent dishes. Two veg and two meat meals and a fantastic white wine. The service was perfect. It was our friends birthday and we were given a little desert and icecream with a candle for free - also tasting amazing. Literally cannot recommend this place enough! Having been a regular at this chain I found out today why you need to keep an open mind Service would have been more charming if they had actually sent a robot Crispy duck was dry and no better than you could get in any Chinese take away Main course was inedible Overall sense was to get us out as fast as possible despite the restaurant being virtually empty They have lost a loyal customer for good

As soon as I heard we were going back into lockdown I immediately booked the Good Earth for the night before lockdown. As ever, food was delicious with excellent service. Whilst this is an expensive Chinese you get what you pay for. The whole steam Sea Bass is generous and exceptional. A great feed thank you!

Very bland food, very overpriced. The noodles had no flavour whatsoever. How can they charge such high prices for such below average food?

Had a delicious meal with my wife and children on Saturday evening, but was very disappointed on leaving to see three takeaway delivery riders sitting on the inside stairs at the front of the restaurant chomping on freebie bowls of Chinese food (that the rest of us had paid no small amount for). If The Good Earth wants to maintain its reputation as a top local restaurant then it needs to find a back door for its hungry takeaway riders!! Shame...after a lovely evening this left a bad taste.

What a delight of chinese food. A bit overpriced but i liked the experience no end. the food is faultless.

Having returned to the Good earth after many months of lockdown, the food was as superb as ever. The restaurant also lends itself well to distancing measures and I feel safe here. Catherine and her team offer the most friendly and efficient service. I really cannot fault this place.

I thought the food was okay - the best part of the meal was the growing towels at the end. The servers were slightly rude and impolite.

Food is just ok compare to the price we paid. The Esher one is better.
