The Good Breakfast in Hertsmere

Being a hotel guest I received a voucher for breakfast so I went over to have the man behind the counter snatch the voucher and just start filling my plate with stuff I didn't want so I had to tell him to stop so I could pick what I wanted due to dietary needs to be looked at like I was the stupid one making me feel it was my fault I had these needs anyway he needs to learn customer service and stop treating customers the way he does as I had no problems when served by the young lady who was kind and polite and patient with me I would give her 5 stars for customer service

Super friendly staff. I have breakfast here regularly, Hayley and Manideep are excellent, as are the rest of the team. Food is really good, great prices and service. Thank you!

Really pathetic breakfast. Bitter taste of recycled oil. Mushrooms were borderline toxic. Everything else competed hard with the mushrooms but the most inedible. Suggested new name ‘The Bad Breakfast’

Friendly, quick, and good food. Hayley on the counter was so friendly and helpful. Eggs where to order and everything was ready fast. Just what was needed. Only gripe was the mushrooms where watery.

To be fair, for a place that has to sling a breakfast out every 20 seconds it wasn’t too bad. Yes the mushrooms were inedible and sausage made of sawdust but many places are like this. Staff were organised and had the place running like a well oiled machine.

Not 'good breakfast' at all, overpriced sub standard food and the worst coffee. Don't bother going. Also waaaaay too much bread in the bacon bap, not enough bacon.

Tried to order a breakfast, however I asked for cold beans, I personally don't like them reheated. I got refused, initially telling me they can't waste the food, then they told me they weren't trained to serve 'uncooked' food!! Never had a business that won't open a tin and serve a portion before. The Manager, Manideep, was rude and contradictory. Avoid at all costs!!

All cold except the toast...eggs snotty and uncooked...don't wast £15 like me

The good breakfast, ha what a joke. The sausages were terrible, mushrooms just looked old instead of cooked. The bacon wasn't too bad for yesterday's bacon. Best bit about it was the orange juice.

Food itself good, but while order l could not really make any request than order full english. Poor service that looks like they are working for punishment. Doesn't respond to requests or questions. So overall good food but poor service.

The bad breakfast more like. Just purchased a sausage bap. Apparently the guy couldn't put butter on the bap due to food hygiene. Promptly gave me my own and said I have to do it myself. Had one bite of the roll and binned the rest. Those sausages must have no more than 50% meat in them. Will be avoiding that brand at all costs in future.

Three of us ordered a traditional or ultimate breakfast this morning and most of the meals were inedible. Rather than explain a few mins.were needed to ensure the sausages were cooked properly they dished the food up and we couldn't eat the sausages as only one side had been browned.This is a health hazard as pork is known to cause tape worms if cooking isn't thorough.The beans were served cold and the mushrooms too. The name should be The Diabolical Breakfast.

Stayed at Ramada overnight and the included breakfast was served next door at the services. Small dry breakfast with mushrooms from another planet(not a good one) no option to upgrade to a latte that was 30p more, fry’s an egg in front of you but can’t break the yolk. Annoyingly next door to a Subway where I shall eat tomorrow.

Food is served in chipped plates, deep fryer toast soaking of oil. I didn't even touch bacon and mushrooms. I wish I had no breakfast today. AVOID!

Food was delicious, chose traditional breakfast and they were happy to change the Hash brown for fried bread. All was cooked very well and the egg had a lovely golden yoke.

Low expectations given its a service station, but the food was really good and the staff were pleasant, fair play!

3 sausages, 3 bacon, two eggs, fried slice, beans, two hash browns, tomato, mushrooms £9.99 ran out of black pud but it was late in the morning nearer lunchtime. Great greasy spoonage!

This relates to the Oxford Services Branch…… I think they should change their name to “The Not Terrible but Mildly Disaapointing Breakfast”. Sausage/Bacon sandwich = Anaemic sausages, sloppy bacon. Dry crumbling bread on the cusp of stale.

Great customer services, the server seem to really enjoy his job, a nice smile, jolly attitude and a very warm and friendly welcome. The food was not greasy and eggs are cooked for you on a hot plate while you wait. Great customer services keep up the good work.

Slow, sullen, dry and dreary. Slow, sullen service. Dry (read stale) unbuttered barm. Dreary (read grey and flavourless) meat. Give it a wide birth.

I wonder if they've actually tasted their breakfast baps. Bread was cheap, dry and borderline stale. No butter, unless you ask. And it's the best part of £5 for a bacon roll. Disgusting.

First time I have ever ate at The Good Breakfast. It was fantastic. The Ultimate was definitely a lot for the price. I can eat a lot and I struggled through and managed to finish it. The eggs were cooked fresh and all the food was very tasty. Would highly recommend it.

The staff there were a disgrace..when all the other outlets at South Mimms stopped to observe a 2 minute silence, the staff there completely ignored this mark of respect and carried on serving and talking. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Very good breakfast options available at reasonable prices . I stopped at Warwick South, friendly service good food Baps 3.49, breakfasts 6.99 to 9.99 Veggie options as well

Perfectly adequate! Which for a Motorway services is HIGH PRAISE INDEED! £9.99, 3 sausages, 2 eggs, 3 hash-browns, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, fried bread. Compared to the other stuff available at South Mimms, this was very welcome!

We were lost in the deserts of the British motorways, and then we found our oasis, with the goddess Shasanti. She told us of the land of Bali, while she prepared our scribbled eggs and provide England's finest bounty. Terima kasih!

DISGUSTING!!! if your going to charge the horrendous prices that you do charge, you could at least sell fresh rolls ! not stale rolls that fall apart when you touch them, so Dry even a bit of butter didn’t save them ! Bacon that was like cardboard, sausages only just passable, cup of tea not nice and cappuccino was half a cup. Dirty knife and fork placed on the tray enough for one person there was three of us. Table and chairs hadn’t seen a cloth in a while either. Plenty of flies in there too from big ones to they tiniest ones. having a whale of time waiting for the crumbs to fall, but hey can’t help nature can we or can you ?

Traditional breakfast not made from good quality produce. To make it worse you have to eat your breakfast out of a cardboard tray with a wooden knife and fork. Not my best dining experience. Although a plate and cutlery would not have improved the quality of the food. But May have improved its appearance.

You can get a breakfast voucher for this place if you stay at the Ramada next door. The breakfast is adequate but properly stingy, I mean, one rasher of bacon fastidiousy added to the plate by sullen staff. The sausage was the cheap kind that had never been near a butcher, more like grey meat slurry wrapped in a skin. In my case they forgot to do the toast, so I had it as a takeaway after I had finished the rest. Tbh, for a couple of quid more there's a Premier Inn unlimited breakfast with quality ingredients just off the next roundabout.

Good value for money and good options - build your own on the plate or in a wrap.Twice now I have used The Good Breakfast - Hopwood services and Woodall. Absolutely smashed it with fresh cooked food and great service. Having read other reviews, I guess quality of food is down to how busy they are, but I would recommend giving them a look see.

I stopped at South Mimms services for a breakfast payed £8.49 the bacon was like cardboard all dried up the bake beans had a skin on the top of them all dried up the only good thing was the black pudding if your a chef you got to keep turning your food over or it will dry out very disappointing breakfast

Service is a bit slow and quality of food is expected to be much higher for the price. Coffee ☕ was fine.

So seen the good breakfast at a few services so thought I'd try so for a £4.50 BACON AND SAUSAGE BAP you get two extremely low grade sausages one burnt piece of bacon in a dry cob with no butter NEVER AGAIN.

Very lovely staff and welcoming on the first experience food was amazing and myself and family ended up staying longer then we originally wanted to, will stop again on our next holiday .

If zero stars were an option this is what they would have got. Food was shocking, breakfast sausage butty served in s burger brioche bun really didn't work. Cost £20.04 for 4 sausage sandwiches and a couple of teas. Then the lady was incredibly rude, even accusing us of breaking our own tea bag. Dire... Stay clear

Felt I had to write a review after all the one stars. Maybe a bit overpriced, but all food from services usually is! Great, friendly service and good porridge. Average cooked breakfast but certainly not inedible.

£5.50 for a sorry excuse of a sandwich that is offensive to all sandwiches to call it a sandwich! Dry crumbly bread that tasted like it had spent the night in the open. Bacon you couldnt bite through, half cooked egg and sausages that tasted disgusting. Welcome Break need to sort their act out. Avoid at all costs

Should be called the shambolic breakfast, nothing good about the place. £5.99 for a breakfast box. 2 bland hash browns, 1 bits of bacon somehow dry and raw at the same time,2 sausages which I'm not even convinced were real meat and a fried egg dripping in oil- tasty. Had to bin it and buy something else that was actually edible.
